Install Dalingrin's OC kernel but no 1100 settings - Nook Color General

Hi all, this is my first post here, I have just installed CM7 and it works flawlessly, but when I tried to install Dalingrin's OC kernel, everything seems installed fine, but when I go to the CM7 settings, the fastest CPU speed I can choose is 925, is there any one who experiences the same things and successfully solve the problem?
Thanks in advanced.

are you flashing with cwm 3.0.1.0 with the proper updated kernel to write to ext4 partitions?

First of all make sure that your downloading the corrent kernel the one for CM7.
Also, did you wipe your cache partition and clearn your dalvik cache?
If not then reflash.
*edit* Im sure you have it but here is the corrent link for froyo and cm7 builds: http://nook.handhelds.ru/dalingrin/kernels/

Hi, thank you for the replys, much appreciated!
Unfortunately, I redo the whole things again and pay extra attention to the things you mentioned, but it still didn't work.
I used CWMR 3.01 to remove cache partition and dalvik cache, although nook hangs after cleaning up dalvik cache, I force power off nook and reenter CWMR and install the Dalingrin kernel again, I did check the kernel version, SD/CM7...
No luck..
Any other thoughts?

The problem you describe is indicative of flashing the wrong kernel. If CM7 is installed on the internal memory, then you need the EMMC version of the kernel. Please confirm that this is what you are doing.

Thank you, you are right, I am using the wrong kernel, sorry for the stupidity, I follow several install guide, but I have no idea what I need is the emmc one.
Thanks.

Jim,
This question's been answered in other threads already, but here's the link to the one specifically regarding this problem. I included it in your response to this question on the other thread as well. Good luck....

You're NOT bricked...... The Nook gives boot priority to your sd drive. Worst case scenario, you need to use a bootable recovery sd to reflash a stable version of CM7.
First things first..... Don't panic. LOL
1. Power down.
2. Power up holding both the power button & the n button for 6 seconds.
Does that get you to recovery?

I just put a new 3.0.2.8 .img file on my sd card should I put it in and see if it boots into CWR from the card? If it does, before I flash 7.0.2, what should I format? Just the cache?
Thanks!

First try booting into your EMMC recovery the way I just posted ( power & n button for 6 seconds).
If that works.... do a full wipe and restore your backup of 7.0.2 stable.
It won't boot into recovery with the power and N button. Tried it many times! I still get the android for a few, and then a small dot in the upper right!

Ok.....Now it's time to use your recover SD. Put it in, boot to recover and do a full wipe (System, Data, Cache, & Dalvik). Then reflash CM7.0.2. When you're done and booted into CM7, report back for follow up instructions, so this doesn't happen to you again.
Man, I got all the way to wipe dalvik cache and it locked up on the advanced and debugging menu??? oh my god!

Yeah that's perfectly normal. Hard shutdown and boot right back to recovery. Flash the rom and gapps (no OC kernel yet....I'll explain once you're up and running again).
Whew! I am back up on cm7.0.2! Seems that the nightly 64 and the 0424 OC kernel dont play well together!

Make sure you go back to the market and re-download Rom Manager. Once you do that, flash recovery to your EMMC (device memory). Make sure you keep that recovery up to date. The SD recovery you just used did not flash your machine.....Your machine booted from it.
Now for your overclocking info. The recent CWM update requires the use of a kernel with an updated ext.4 script, explained in the following link.......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925451&page=239
Going from stable to nightly requires only a Cache & Dalvik wipe + the flashing of the ext 4 OC kernel, however returning from nightlies to stable will require a full wipe (system, data, cache, & dalvik) for safety's sake.
Always make back ups of good rom's, use titanium to back up your apps & data, keep your recovery up to date, read, read, read.......and if I helped you out click my thanks tab
just one more question--what is the best way to add the OC kernel to cm7.0.2 now, or should I update to 7.0.3 " Gasp"

I'd wait on 7.0.3 to see what's up with it..... Some people were reporting the MD5 sums not matching. Stick with 7.0.2, follow the threads to see what's up with any rom you run, and then once you know all's well (from reading the posts).....then flash the update. Keep in mind it's always easier to read first and flash after, then to freak out thinking you bricked your device and spend 2 hours in a panic trying to fix it.
For the OC kernel boot into recovery (the one you should have flashed to EMMC from Rom Manager), and flash the 4/24 kernel with the updated script for ext. 4

Now for your overclocking info. The recent nightly builds are Android 2.3.4 and require and ext 4 kernel..... available here in post 2382 of this thread......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925451&page=239
The stable builds are Android 2.3.3 which require the kernel you have been using right along (prob. the 4/24 1.3 GHz).
Going from stable to nightly requires only a Cache & Dalvik wipe + the flashing of the ext 4 OC kernel, however returning from nightlies to stable will require a full wipe (system, data, cache, & dalvik).

I would like to get on the Nightly band wagon, and use the ext4 OC kernel but this link does not work for me. Is there another place to get the 1.3 OC kernel that will work for nightly builds?
Thanks!

[Q] Able to restore to stock, but...

My boot went corrupt with CM 7.0.2. I was able to restore to stock with no problem, but everytime I attempt to install CM 7 (stable or nightly), I get a black screen except for a little white/light blue line in the upper right corner.
I use the 3.0.0.5 Recovery with the directions in the following link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699
Does anyone have an idea why this happens? I do remove the SD recovery card, and insert a blank SD card before rebooting.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Use 3.0.2.8 recovery
Thanks, I'll give that a shot right quick.

Tried it and it boots back to the black screen with the line in the upper right corner.
Here's what I did.
Made the bootable sd card, copied over lastest build of cm7 and gapps.
Installed zips.
wiped data.
switch sd cards, rebooted
also tried it w/o wiping data.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Wiping cache?

Just tried that, no dice. It's still going back to the same screen.
Download the cm7 again, might be corrupt

Just downloaded a stable release, and it works. Is there any reason why the Nightly 80 wouldn't work, even after re-downloading it?
I'm also dealing with the same issue as well. The problem started when I tried to update from nightly 76 to 77. I also tried to flash to nightly 80, but no luck. I'm flashing a stable release now.
Edit: Flashing the stable release also worked for me. However, I wasn't able to flash the latest nightly over the stable build.
Yep.
Same problem here.
The stable works, boots fine, but the nightlies won't boot.
They go into the same flashing blue line.
I tried all the advice I could find, wipe system, cache, data and tried restoring to stock, still no dice.
I am using CWM 3.0.2.8.
I'm just a different flash method (verygreen's SD install), but found that nightlies beyond 75 won't boot without installing the .32 OC kernel. There's a discussion in both cyanogenmod experimental nook forum and in the dev forum here about it.
I guess I'll just wait until they resolve the issue then. I was really wanting to see how well the deep sleep worked.
Finally got the latest nightly from today with OC kernel and gapps. Running great so far. Just waiting on market being able to download.

[Q] from Xron 2.8 to Classicnerd Buttah

Hello,
Apologies for the question in advance. I have read all related threads over the last couple of weeks, most notably the Classicnerd v0.04 Buttah in the Touchpad Development section, but as I'm new to the forum, I cannot post this question there.
I have finally decided to make the switch to Classicnerd buttah from xron 2.8 (which has been working beautifully).
My question relates to the install process. On the Classicnerd site, the procedure manual says that I need to ACMEuninstall first, however reading posts in the Classicnerd Buttah thread, senior members are saying there is no need to do this and I can just do the wipes and flash directly.
Can you please advise which method I should follow?
Also, does v0.04 include Gapps, which means I wont need to flash Gapps.
Thank you in advance.
The ideal instructions are to acmeunistall and then acmeinstall just CWm and Moboot...then flash ICS....
but you can just do following also..if you have problems then do acmeunistall
Download Classicnerd buttah version 0.0.4 and gapps v11 from classicnerd.net
boot into clockwork in ur tp
take nandroid back up to be on safer side
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mount and storage..wipe system, cache, data
advance...wipe dalvik cache
flash classicnerd buttah
flash gapps
reboot
now dont restore any app or data from ur backup in Xron...install everything fresh from market to avoid any issues...
Thank you so much for your guidance, viny2cool. It's very much appreciated.
I'll try it tonight with ACMEuninstall.

Problem installing Devil Kernel 1.1.3

Hi, I'm wondering if I'm doinbg something wrong but I can't install the new Devil kernel version on latest Helly Bean nightly with 1.1.2 Devil Kernel Installed. I downloaded the file 3 times so it's most probably not a corrupted file problem. And the first time I installed it gave me major problems and had to revert back to gb, couldn't install HB from there because of status 7 errors wich only stopped when i did a GB-ICS-HB install. I tried to revert to 1.1.2 now but phone is stuck on HB bootscreen so I think I'll have to Odin GB again and then ICS and HB+1.1.2 but I like to have latest rom versions and kernel. Does anyone see where I fail in my installation? BTW I always wipe cache and Dalvik cache between any new zip installation, just in case....
Thanks in advance for any help and I have to say alot of thanks already for all infos on this forum because I went from noob to not so noob in a matter of days by reading all your usefull threads! :good:

Changing from one to another can be tricky, sometimes you need to flash TWICE
But First Backup your EFS folder from GB stock to SD card, do the complete wipes than flash, If it loops, flash again

Upgrading cm 7.2 to cm9

Hi everyone,
Newbie posting here.. I've had my share of flashing Roms a few times (say 4 or 5 times) but i stuck with cm 7.2 when they released the stable mod for the i9000.
Now i see that the cm9 stable mod has been released and i definitely want to try that out however, I'm not sure on how to go about it and I don't want to do anything stupid. Don't get me wrong, i've tried reading around through different sites and forums but all the mix and match methods of flashing and installing has gotten me confused..
My main question is, how do i flash to cm9 from cm 7.2? naturally i have cwm installed and can boot into cwm recovery. Am on the XXJVK baseband with the pawitp kernel. Not sure if i have to donwload new drivers (since the base ROM is going to change)...
Do i just place the zip file for the cm9 mod in the internal sd storage? could you guys help me out and let me know if this process is correct:
1) save zip file in internal storage (both cm9 and gapps)
2) do a nandroid backup
3) boot into recovery
4) wipe data and dalvik cache
5) install the package
6) wipe data and dalvik cache
7) install gapps
8) reboot
Once it boots up, i'm assuming it'll be running cm9 already.. could you guys help me out and let me know if this procedure's correct? sorry for the noob question but i'd rather just make sure and ask you guys first.
thanks in advance guys! cheers and more power!

wipe date
wipe cache
wipe delvik cache
then flash rom nd gapps
wipe cache nd delvik cache again.. good luck..
Best and most reliable way to do this is flashing through stock rom via Odin. Then flashing kernel with CWM Recovery via Odin. And only then flash CM9 via CWM.
thanks for the quick reply guys. will try it out tonight and update this post. hope all goes well.
cheers!

and if u want u can try chimera rom from team passion.. it s combination of cm9 and AOKP.. It s stable and fast..
took me less than 10 minutes to flash to cm9 and it's as snappy as i thought it was. now to fix up everything and check if everything's okay.
so far, wifi and network signal are working fine and dandy. might just have a go at that chimera rom.
