1.) Hold volume down to get boot menu
2.) Then press volume down until you see Android Recovery
3.) Press volume up to select.
4.) Once you see the Android logo, click the on the screen just above the search button.
Use volume up and down to navigate, and press the screen above the menu key to select. Should be self explanatory from here. Just make sure you copy the update.zip to the root of your SD Card. Enjoy!
**Sorry, but I guess I should have specified that this is for the AT&T branded Atrix Only.

No!!!!... do not flash this on the bell atrix its the ATT OTA update
And tech the firmware version alone 1.2.6 should tell you that its not the bell firmware to begin with...
Thank you sir very helpful to keep on my drive instead of hoping to have wifi when I may need it.

Worked perfectly. Takes a little while. But not insanely long. Only a panicky is the damn thing working long.

Mirror.
Sorry to bring this back up but, since it is in the form of update.zip, is it possible to flash via CWM recovery instead of the normal recovery?
EDIT: keep getting failed whether do it with stock recovery or clockworks.

Hello, just installed the leaked sprint hero 2.1 rom on my phone. The rom works okay except that I have too restart my phone every time someone calls me or I try to call someone. This is rather annoying and now I would like to revert back to 1.5. I created a backup with nandroid but I can't seem to restore it properly. I have installed fastboot and followed the directions on how to use it with nandroid but fastboot.exe doesn't execute because it can't find the adbwinapi.dll file. I have this file (along with fastboot) both in my System32 directory and in the android-sdk/tools directory so I don't knowwhy fastboot can't find it. Is there any other way to restore with nandroid?

hmm the recovery screen has alot more than that....your 100% positive your holding the home button and then pressing power (while keeping home pressed in)
positive i wish i had more options. Also, my computer won't even recognize that my phone is plugged in when I'm in recovery mode or the bootloader.

Clear data sounds like the bootloader.
Try this. Power off the phone. Hold down the HOME button. While holding the HOME button, press the POWER button. Wait for the phone to vibrate, then release the HOME button.
That should boot straight into recovery (if recovery is installed).
I think if you hold the home button too long, I think it will go into the bootloader menu.

I'm not sure. You probably still have root since the RUU is rooted, but you probably have to go through it again to get the recover image on there too. This is where my level of expertise ends.
Finally figured it out!
Turns out when I flashed the RUU rom I lost my recovery screen but I manged to figure out how to get it back.
This is how to do it

Here are the official stock LG E960 (Nexus 4) ROMs for each carrier.
Since the phone isn't actually released to the public yet until the 13th, I have no way of knowing if these are in beta still, or not.
I will modify this more as time goes on, and try to keep up-to-date with any and all releases/leaks/etc.. for all of you.
These files are in TOT format, and are loaded just like a regular BIN file through Emergency Mode via LGNPST.
You will be required to have all of the proper Generic Components and Models installed for this, as well.
I will try to provide links for everything that is required, after I upload the firmwares.
Until the phone gets released to the public, please don't ask me questions such as: "Is this rootable?" "Is this 4.2.x?" "Is this unlocked?" or "Will you father my children?"

If I find out otherwise, I will sort them accordingly!
Thank you all for your help!
PS: I don't have this phone, and probably never will; I'm just helping out because I have the ability to do so, so my updates might be a little later than I intend.

That's what I'm thinking
There will be a single factory image available from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images shortly after the device is released. This won't be carrier or country specific and so I don't really see the need for a 'stock firmware' thread if it's going to be one file and/or a link to the official place where you can always download the latest version.
It could be useful as an archive of older firmwares once the phone starts getting subsequent releases.

Yep there should be only one version on Google's factory images page. just like nakasi and tungsten for the Nexus 7 and Q

Thank you, I looked around for a few before I posted it, and couldn't find anything regarding stock firmware (that wasn't a dump, anyway.)
For everybody else; I'm sorry I haven't been active over the past few days, have been kind of busy with work.
I was unaware that they would all contain the same firmware for every region, because when I originally posted this thread, each country had a different file name; however, they're all the same file name now.
Well, I'll still archive any and all firmware that is released here, regardless of the other thread, and post any leaks that LG is testing, along with other tools.
I have the oem IMEI tool used for creation/repair, but I'll look into that and release more info. once I get my hands on the phone.
Also, I have the ability to add IMEI into LG's pool.
Thanks. A few questions:
Is there a way to break up the "LGE960AT-00-V10c-NXS-XX-OCT-25-2012-JVP15Q-USER+0" file into the images for the corresponding partitions on the N4?
Can you post the latest LGNPST tool?
This is my first LG device: what is "Emergency Mode"?

LGNPST is protected so it cannot be openly posted. to get into "Download Mode"
power off phone. while your usb is plugged into your phone hold both volume up
and volume down and power. that's how I've done it everything on my OG.

Strange. When my N4 if power off, and I plug it into my PC, then hold volume up and down, and press and hold power, it takes me to the bootloader, not download mode. Any thoughts?
And is download mode the same thing as "emergency mode"?

I do not know how the N4 is. these are the guides for the Optimus G which definitely should be the same for the N4
I've heard that for N4 phones. the bootloader should be unlocked. although I know on my OG it didn't matter if it was or not.
The easiest way for me was to POWER OFF DEVICE. while it's off... holding both volume up + volume down then plug
your usb cable while holding both volume buttons..
I hope this helps..
Code:
From then power off state press and hold Volume Up + Down and then press Power.
If this does not work then try again except release the power before the LG
logo shows up. The phone's screen will says "Download Mode Do Not Unplug".
[B]OR:[/B]Connect phone to computer, power off, and then power on, holding down
the power button and both volume buttons
Wait for the drivers to be detected and installed. Once they are run LGNPST.
To do so do the following: Click Start - All Programs (if applicable) -LGNPST
Select LGNPST_LS970.dll for the DLL file and then for the .bin file, use the
bin file that you renamed from tot to bin.
If LGNPST errors out at 85%, after a few minutes turn your phone off and
hold the power button until the phone powers on, then release
[B]From Powered Down Device[/B]
Volume Up + Power = Boot into Fastboot Mode
Volume Down + Volume Up + Power (While Plugged into Computer) = Download Mode
Volume Down + Volume Up (While PLUGGING into Computer) = Download Mode
edit: it seems that my LGOG is inverted with the volume controls.. volume down = volume up.
that is only when im running mako bootloader and recovery that's modified for my phone.
for instance in cwm volume up would move it down.
but it's reverted back properly when im on my original one for the lgog

I did figure out how to root it but where i found it on here should mention to flash the bootloader cause you will get a security error if ya didnt i primarily use root for my wifi tethering when i need it
So there's no other way to root without flashing a bootloader and another rom? I really don't want to get into that anymore.
Same here.
Just want to stay with the stock v30p after rooting.
It will be great if tjat can be done

doesnt anyone know of another method, i was on that page last night for 4 hours trying to get it to work without any luck, updated drivers, was able to get phone to boot into fast mode, but whenever i tried to install the boot loader it would always just chill on waiting for device. few ppl said to unplug and replug, or manually put into fast boot but nothing worked for me, couldnt get it to install bootloader.
ok ive figured it out. I really hate when they dont post all the steps and cause so much chaos, this is what worked for me.
1.follow the links on post listed above,
2.install the flash program as admin on pc
3.with battery out plug in while device manager is open and right click on the driver that comes up and update it with the driver in hacker file
usb_drv_windows, a box will come up say install anyways.
4.reboot computer with phone unplugged then reopen device manager
5.run allinonep90.bat file, hit any button then when asked to wait 5 seconds put battery back into phone. the next page will pop up with a list of
options, select ICS bootload.er, i think it was 8 or 9 and click enter. it will say waiting for device.
6.now go back to device manager and there should be another problem driver cosmo, right click and install the same drivers as step 3, once
complete hacker will auto find it and install bootloader.
7.next step select option 6 for GB recovery. apparently ics recovery on this is for a custom rom. when its done reboot and put the ziped su_bbox
zipped file on your sd card and turn off phone by holding power untill its off.
8. while off hold volume down then hit power until it vibrates, may have to do a few times before it vibrates then release power button while still
holding volume down. when the silver lg logo comes up release volume down. and phone will boot into recovery.
9.from here navigate to where the zip file is and install, after it does it will reboot and you will now be rooted.
hope this helps ive seen sooooo many posts with ppl having same problem as me and no one posting accurate guides.

Got me through a good bit here, but I'm at the point where I can't boot into recovery. The phone loads just fine otherwise, but I can not for the LIFE of me get into recovery mode (to flash SU_BBOX). I've tried "Vol-Down + PWR", "Vol-down + 3D + PWR"... etc etc etc... I've practically tried every which way and button combination, but still nothing. What am I missing? Yes, I DID use the tool to flash a recovery. Also, when I try to shut the phone down, it won't stay off. It turns off for a few seconds, then boots itself back up. What have I DONE???

thats a bug with the bootloader, turn phone on and then hold the power button for like 8 seconds to turn it off, not t hrew the menu.
once its off hold vol down then press power button. and hold for about 4 seconds, if it doesnt vibrate to turn off, release all and repeat untill it does. it takes me about 2-3 times befor it vibrates to turn on. after the let go of power until grey lg screen, you will notice writing in the top left corner, then let go of volume button.
Help me.

I have been trying for a long time to root my LG Thrill with ICS 4.0.4, but I am having trouble. I've tried countless times to root the device and followed the instructions precisely from the previous posts. I have also looked at other threads and can't find anything that helps. It would be greatly appreciated if somebody helped me out in rooting my device because a lot of the previous posts are slightly outdated. Maybe there is another method to rooting this device? All help is appreciated
The solution
i rooted mine with this http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-root-lg-thrill-4g-with-android-4-0-ics.html

Hello all,
I have a VZW Moto X Dev Edition running stock 4.4.2. I'm rooted and currently have TWRP 2.6.3.1 as my recovery. I can access the recovery by doing adb reboot recovery or by telling Titanium Backup to reboot into recovery (I assume these are the same basic thing) and it works just fine, but if I tell the bootloader to go into recovery, it just turns the phone off. It's not a huge deal right now because the phone is working fine, but it's definitely something I'd like to get working.
It was working fine before I had to reflash the stock recovery as part of the 4.4.2 update (which had the same problem, but was able to install the update just fine). Anyone else see anything like this or have any tips I might try?
Thanks!
You are using volume buttom up to select recovery and not the power button right? From bootloader screen volume down once to get to recovery and volume up to select it.

Wow, my own stupidity astounds me. Should've read the instructions on the screen, I guess. It's been a while since I've had to work in the bootloader.
Thanks man!

No problem. Common mistake a lot of users make. Glad you got it going!
EDIT: I accidently posted this in the wrong forum. Im have the international version, not Verizon!
I've been trying to get CM10 on my phone and somehow i messed everything up and now i can ONLY get into download mode.
Im trying to follow this guide to get back to stock:
I. Before You Begin
This will only work using a Windows machine.
This will only work on the T-Mobile US version and versions from outside the US. Do NOT use this on AT&T or Verizon versions.
II. Install the Drivers
Download the LG ADB Drivers and install them (if you don’t already have them installed from the rooting procedure you used).
III. Download the Necessary Files
Download the stock firmware for you specific device here and save it to your desktop (look for it in step 1 of the original post and make sure to choose the firmware file for your specific device version).
Download the LG Mobile Support Tool to your desktop, install it, and then close it once it opens automatically.
Download the FlashTool to your desktop (it’s the .zip file after clicking on that link).
IV. Unroot the LG G2
Turn off the G2 by holding down the power button and keeping it held down until the screen goes black, then continue to hold it for a few seconds after it goes black to make sure it shut down.
Plug the G2 into the computer via the USB cable while holding Volume Up at the same time to put it into download mode.
Right-click the FlashTool .zip file and select Extract All.
Double-click UpTestEX.exe from inside the newly extracted folder.
In the R&D Test Tool window, select the following for each option listed:
Select Type – 3GQCT
PhoneMode – DIAG
Select KDZ file – Click this and select the .kdz file we downloaded in the previous section.
Click Normal web upgrade test.
Click Upgrade Start in the new popup window that appears.
Select Republic of Korea and English for the Country and Language window that appears after that.
Click OK.
When it finished flashing and is all done, turn off the phone and then turn it back on by holding down Power and Volume Down until a screen comes up.
Select Reset (this will finish erasing everything off the device and bringing it back to stock).

Have you tried updating the united device drivers?
Sent from my VS980 4G
Do you still have a custom recovery? This happened to me, the same thing actually!
What I had to do was hold Volume Down and Power button until the LG logo shows up, then release ONLY the Power button while still holding the Volume Down button, then press the Power button again.
Or if this doesn't work,
Turn off phone, then when off, hold down power and volume down button until it reaches the LG logo and then release both buttons and hold it down again.
You will see a screen that says something like: Hard reset/ factory reset. Just follow the steps stated on screen until it boots you into recovery.
For me it took me to my recovery screen, where I just flashed a older ROM onto it. I then later flashed a recovery file.
It does take me a few times to get into that.
If that doesn't work, I don't know.
Thank you,
Stephen

Praise Jesus for this...I about had a heart attack. I have been rooting and installing custom ROMs since the G1...never had any issues. Was in a boot loop and could not get back into recovery for anything.
Nothing!
I rooted then attempted to installl TWRP... the phone turned off then turned on with the android ! icon... it shut off a few mins later. Now, all I get is the buzz and a black screen. LG Mobile Support Tool nor my computer will even recognize the device. Am I truly bricked beyond repair?
