I can't get any of my emulators to work with my wii mote. All have been working all perfectly on my g tablet. When I try to map the keys by pressing the button it doesnt detect it... it just says press hardware key. any ideas??
anyone? Im thinking maybe I need my nunchuk pplugged in? Thats all I can think of at this point. I had it worked on my gtab and the menu was different.... the box is smaller where it says to press the button I want to use, there was a place for it to display the button i pressed, now theres just the OK box..
really odd
Update...
the programs say "Press hardware key to map"...
If I press a HARDWARE KEY, like volume up, it takes it. But it wont read the wiimote at all. I guess my issue is getting it recognized, even though the program I have has synced with it
Figured it out, the 4th wiimote app from the market finally worked. Use "simple wiimote" - works great! Cant wait to hook this up to my 55" LED !

You are doing the process correctly. However you gotta goto the settings of the emulator and under input there is a check box that says "other input" check that and then it will work

I really enjoy a good snes emulator and i recently have been messing around with pocketsnes which seems to run the best for me. The only problem i have with it is that i cant map keyboard keys to control the game. When i set the keys for the buttons it says i keep hitting the same button when in fact, im hitting the key next to it. I found a program called KforTouchpro which works on my Kaiser by switching to a M$ IME mode. i then am able to map the keys properly but i soon have a major problem if i dont switch the mode back to T9. If i reboot without switching it back to T9, my kaiser wont boot back up and will give me a white screen. is there another program made for the Kaiser that will let me edit the keyboard so i can map keys to it?
Same problem
i just flashed my fone with a different rom and i have all 3 emulators on it. Pocketsnes, snes, and genesis. it always says dat im pressing the same button when im not. Some one plus help i have over 120 roms to play.
So all my physical keys on my xperia x1 including the Volume button, the ok button, the X panel button, the pick up call button, the end call button, the two silver buttons all don't work. None of the keys on my keyboard work either.
I've been trying to hard reset but every method I've found includes holding down the volume button (which doesnt work since that button is unresponsive). I've tried the 2 silver button method along with the poking the stylus in the hard reset hole in the back of the phone but that doesnt work either since the silver buttons are unresponsive.
So now I'm looking for the Clear_Storage thing I've been reading about but I can't find it so could someone please supply me with the directory I could find it in or any other solution you can think of to help me hard reset my phone so I can flash a new ROM.
BTW I've used Hard-SPL to flash roms before, it's just this last ROM from itje got all screwy and made the buttons stop working.
Thanks, Nik
Setting > System > Clear Storage.
Sometimes Itje takes it out of his ROMs, though. You can try reflashing by pc method if it's not there.
Yea I've checked and it's not in there, how would you do it by pc?
Is it that ruu executable that you run while it's synced? For some reason
that never actually worked with my comp which is why I always resorted to the SD Card Flash method, but I can't get into the Hard-SPL loader now cause of the button problem.
Does anyone know how to hard-reset without having to use the hardware buttons, because I really need to be able to use my phone again.
Need Help =/
Next to malfunctioning buttons, is the phone starting up?
What happens, if you plug a USB cable in? If you can select ActiveSync mode, then you could easily try to re-flash another ROM image - maybe the one you have been using was corruptly downloaded or something.
Or, if you get too much of strange behaviour like this, try a stock ROM first, then another custom ROM.
It boots up and works fine as long as I stick to using the touch screen and I can USB ActiveSync it too. I know some of the older ROMs used to have an exe you could run while in ActiveSync and it would auto install but most of the new ROMs assume you're using the SD Card Method so I can't find the PC Installer app.
Alright so I managed to isntall a new version of that Firestorm Rom (3.8 I think) and my hardware buttons still don't work.
Like from the buttons that Works:
Power Button
Camera Button
Optical Joypad (only the center square)
Stuff that doesn't work:
X-Panel Button
Ok Button
Volume Button (up, down, center)
Pick up Call
Hang Up Call
Two Silver Buttons (left and right)
Left and Ride on "D-Pad"
ALL KEYBOARD KEYS
What is their left to do if a new ROM doesn't fix the problem?
what are my options for getting this fixed?
my volume keys dont work, dont know why but sometimes theyre working and sometimes not.
i have the same issue. but my g-letter button works. and all other buttons make the volume go up one notch and then down again. further more when i go into settings and the menu that controls what the buttons it only says it has a left and a right button.
have u been able to figure something out??
began working again
after a month it suddenly started to work again! dont know why or how
is a hardware problem, with your flex.
i can tell you this is hardware problem.flash your phone with orginal spl and orginal rom and send sony ericson.i had same problem.they gave me new unit after 3 months fight good luck.
no doubt, it's hardware problem..
Agree with human75, flash your x1 with stockSPL n original ROM before u send it to SE. Do it via your PC.. Goodluck bro
My camera button is shot and the regular method of accessing the bootloader is impossible for me. Are there any other options for me?
Sorry, no.

Yes, I believe that's what he means. Sputnikk23, do you have Windows Mobile installed or Android? If you have Windows Mobile installed, it can definitely be done. If you're on Android, I'm not so sure.
it was stock rom wm 6.1;
currently installing nfs
I ended up taking it apart to try to fix button; accidentaly broke it off. poked the button out, put it back together and now I just short circuit it.
doing it as per the guide to install android though
hopefully i don't need the camera button for anything essential...

crap... you need it to back out of stuff.. can you change that in android?
i'm in qwerty keylayout in /system/usr/keylayout and i can't figure out what my end key is mapped to. when i press it it blacks out the phone? sometimes comes back by itself, sometimes i have to hit power. just comes back to whatever i had before it blacked.
and what is the left softkey supposed to do? and what is the "home" button? the power key?
and i cannot get win7 to install the usb drivers. implies they are for 64bit when they are clearly not.
I DID IT! I remapped the "End" key to "Back" instead of "END CALL".
You can end call with the touch screen, only thing I"m missing is manual sleep which it will do auto in 30 secs. Anyone know of a widget I can put on home screen to do it manually?
Also, shouldn't SOME key take me instantly back to home screen?
If anyone needs instructions for layout change - I can write up a tutorial.
key- re-map!
i would love a tutorial! ive been tryin to figure out how to do this for a while!
im running NAND, Myns warm donut
The camera button on my Vogue was sketchy and then finally died. I opened it up and the microswitch had dislodged. I am not great at soldering, but it was an easy fix. I just pushed it back into place, bent the retaining "ears" back around the switch, soldered the ears together to hold it better, and finally just touched the leads to the switch to reflow them. It took much longer to open the phone and put it back together than it did to resolder. It took maybe 30 minutes, start to finish and it was well worth it, IMO.
My wife was traveling this week, and she called me to complain that her menu button on her Hero wasn't working any more (it kept her from playing solitaire... ohh the horror). She said that every time she pressed the menu key it took her back to the home screen.
I thought that she had just been hitting in between the two keys and not directly on the menu button, but when she got home I tried and for whatever reason her menu key has remapped itself to function as the home key.
I did some searching online but did not find much information. One person said they just got Sprint to give them a new phone, and one person said they hit their phone really hard and it started working again... Does anyone know of a method to fix this, or am I going to have to convince her to get a new phone?
theres a root app in the market that allows hardkey remapping.
Is this the one you are talking about

That should work, or, if you want to do it "old school", here's a tutorial...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695936
Go old school!
So I managed to use the "old school" method to pull the button config file...
And according to the software the menu button was still functioning fine. So as a work-around I just mapped the home key to MENU, and my wife said she would just use the back button to get back to her home screen.
I guess it is more of a hardware issue then, since both the menu and home keys are sending the same ID... Ohh well. We have the replacement plan, so if I can convince her to replace her phone then she gets a new one.. if not she can keep this little reason I have a headache every few days.
Hi Guys!
I need your help here.
I dropped my MI3 and now the screen has a crack on the bottom right corner. Along with this, the menu, home and back soft keys are not working.
I plan to root my phone and enable the on screen soft keys. However, since my menu button is not working, I am unable to select "update package" and select the root file to gain root permission.
Is there a way I can root it from a different interface/method so that I can enable the onscreen soft keys later?
Please help!
Bump!
Guys! I have no updates on this!
Flash CWM..root it with supersu.. then enable nav bar

Same thing happened with me.. soft keys not working.. and menu key does not work without root. And you can't root without menu key.. simple solution.. i took a gaming mouse.. that have extra buttons. Connected it to phone.. one of the button worked as the menu key.. went to updater, pressed that button, selected roop zip file and flashed it.
Now i installed pie control and using it to access all the soft key buttons..

That sounds like a practical solution buddy! But can you please enlighten me what a game mouse is and how you established the connectivity b/w the mouse and the MI3?
Sorry for the noobish questions!

Model No. : Logitech MX518
You get back button (right click), home button (middle click), and menu button (forward button on sides)
You just have to plug it in usb charging slot using an OTG cable. OTG cable is also used to plug pendrive to your phone. If you dont have one, buy one. Its usefull. And you dont have to buy a mouse. Just go to a shop, ask him to check if it works with your phone. Do your work and say you dont need it as its incompatible with your phone. Or ask your friends if they have one. You only need mouse for like 5 sec.
use keybard with OTG cable
I had the same problem. I connected a key board to my mobile with an OTG cable and pressed the menu key on the keyboard.
