I was hoping you could all point me in the right direction. I was looking for some of those docks that look like a wood floor with a trim, I simply love how they look with a wallpaper with some form of print.
I've tried searching them to no avail, I'm not events sure how exactly to Google that. If you can please post some links or put your own docks up I would greatly appreciate it!

They don't have to be ADW docks. If you do a search for docks then all you have to do download them to the SD card, choose custom dock in main dock options, and choose the png file and it's set. Almost all my docks I use were made for LP but I can use them on ADW.
The way I've found them is to google "Android docks" and then choose images as the search. That way you can see photos of the docks and links to those pages.

I've looked but can seem to find the answer.
(1) I know I can create new folders on my home screens and move icons into it, but don't know how to change the name from "Folder" to like "Multimedia". Is there a way to do it using ADW Launcher or CM6? If so, I havent found it...
(2) Is there a way to create multiple Drawers to hold stuff in ADW or are we stuck with the one launcher screen? Or is this in Launcher Pro, etc?
(3) Anybody know an easy way to create a widget for an application?
I'm just trying to clean up my home screens, which are getting crowded and don't want to move to 6 or 7 homescreens.
you just long press the holder bar at the top to change the name.
only launcher pro has multiple scrolling docks.
no idea how to create a widget.

Hi, Ive only just stumbled upon Golauncher and editing my Desire HD.
Ive tried to create my own pics to add as a icon on my phone... I have looked at the different threads and dont know where to post this so here goes....
I am using Golauncher and desktop visualiser but when i add a pic to launch the icon i cant get the pics to fit the size of the space... i have tried editing them, making them larger, wider etc but cant get it right; i also tried resizing them with go launcher itself but the border doesnt fit tight to the pic. I have icons on my home screen but there are large gaps between them.
I need pixel sizes for all the different variations e.g 1x1, 2x1 etc
Any advice on what im doing wrong??
Thanks
I can't help with go launcher, sorry know not very helpful to original question, but I find desktop visualizer is ideal for this job. You can add an shortcut icon of any grid pattern size will add a box initially, just take a screen shot and edit on computer to match sizes exactly for your chosen grid pattern. It also resizes icons well to fit in anywhere, Im using it on launcher pro for a 7x7 grid cause standard icons always get cropped due to small space.
Hi,
in the last few months I really start to like the theme with a static wallpaper (or multi wallpaper) where there is just everything and you use uccw/transparent icon on the phone.
I'm then having problem because often is hard to understand where a widget will be really positioned or is hard to put an icon in the right position (maybe you want to add a counter to it and the counter is not matching the icon in the wallpaper).
I'm using nova launcher (not sure why I choosed that, apex was a little bit laggy scrolling wallpaper and...ss launcher I didn't know about it but right now I love it but because I purchased nova, let's keep nova).
What I'm then wondering is if there are template with line where you can exactly understand where the grid of nova are (7x7, 6x7 and so on) or if someone has some suggestion on how to do that.
I already tried to just craete a pics in photoshop with the resolution of the htc one x and splitting it in 7x7 grid but, not sure why, my grid isn't matching the real grid of the nova homescreen (maybe because there is no notification bar on the top?? don't know).
Any suggesiton or premaded template around (tried to google it but without any good result).
Thanks,
Massimiliano
I do the same thing for my homescreen setups. Icons on wallpaper, etc. What you are going to want to do is create all the settings you want on nova. The grid, hide notification bar if that's what you want (it will change the size of spacing in the grid) then put an icon in every space. Preferably a square icon. Take a screenshot, and import it into Photoshop. Create a new action (Google "Photoshop actions") and create guides around every one of your icons. Save the action as the name of the grid size you were using in nova so its easy to remember for later. Then go to the wallpaper you were planning on using and run the action. The guides you made in the previous document will show up and you can use that to format where your Widgets/icons will go.
If you're still confused I could make a little video tutorial tomorrow if you'd like.

Me 2 trieing to make 3 homescreen wallpaper with "no icons" (blank png above icons on wallpaper). I perfectly understand what u trying to say and i think this is the way to do it but i got a problem. I can use guidelines as action for positioning but wall res (which i do in photoshop) is 1440x1280 and screenshot is 540x960. So cant get that accurate position even with guidlines... So my screenshot is little "zoomed in" when i put it in photoshop. Should i "level" it back by manual expand till my eye thinks its good or? Any suggestion?
Hi mates, have anyone of you eclipse template for Nova Launcher?

I'm interested in finding more information on customizing Android. Such as creating wallpapers, fonts, icons, and Widgets. I know how to decomiple, recompile, edit. 9's, sign, zipalign, and all that goodness. I'm more looking for things like how to place a custom wallpaper, font, icon pack, uccw widger theme, zooper theme, etc on the market or to share or sale on a blog. Or tips on where to get materials for theming such as backgrounds, patterns, .pngs, etc. Or guides on how to best create these for best results. Or info on what other Widgets or other things can be themed and shared with others to download. Any knowledge anyone would care to share. I'm just looking to further educate myself in the theming community. What better way than with lots of info from all different areas. Any input is highly appreciated. Have a beautiful day!

Start off by looking into these apps:
UCCW, Zooper Widget, Desktop Visualizer and WidgetLocker.
Launchers: Nova, Apex, ADW
All those are the main used apps/launchers for people who theme.
UCCW and Zooper have their own threads on here where people have submitted their own custom skins. These skins can be anything from custom icons to calendars to clocks to weather widgets.... Pretty much anything. You can also find these skins on the play store.
WidgetLocker is used to replace your lock screen. This app allows you to have a separate wallpaper for your lockscreen and you can even add custom locks and any widget you want can be put on the lockscreen.
Desktop Visualizer is used to place icons on your home screen. UCCW and Zooper can do this as well but I feel Desktop Visualizer is much straight forward for this.
A launcher is very important... They offer more customization options and versatility than the stock launcher. I highly recommend you get a new one.
Finally, check out the "Post your home screen" thread on here... Users show off their screens and are always happy to share the files they are using.
Also... Everyone gets wallpapers from all over the Internet. A good site to try is deviantart.com. Check it out... They also have skins and icons there. Just type in Zooper Skin or UCCW skin. Check out the apps specific thread on here for instructions on adding the themes.

Hello,
is there any app that will help us to create boot animations?
Best Regards,
CS
So after having the OG Droid since its release I have made the jump to the MXP. Unfortunately, this change comes with a big loss of functionality that I used to have with LauncherPro. I always kept my home screen very clean and simple and used custom icons for everything to blend with my background in addition to using the scrollable doc. I also liked the way the app drawer scrolled in LauncherPro as it not only looked nice but also was easier to find apps with.
Please post up any recommendations on launchers to replace the functionality of LauncherPro with.
