Hi everyone, I've a big problem on my milestone : It doesn't boot, it stuck loop on M logo...
I think I tried everything:
- RSD Lite Flash via the official versions and bootloaders
- Restoring backup nandroid
- Installation of custom rom
Despite all this, my phone will not boot, it displays only the M logo, then restarts again to view the M logo, and so on ... If anyone has an idea, I'm interested
(Is there a possibility of using adb to format the phone completely, never to leave anything on it, then install a clean version rsd through the system?)
For french users, there is a post here : http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/52109-milestone-ne-boot-plus/

4. Enter bootloader mode
5.flash official rom using rsdlite

What I've done in open recovery : wipe davlik cache, wipe data, wipe cache partition.
There is a way to wipe everything ? To have a totally empty milestone ?
Ok the 3 wipes and now you should be able to install a rom from the Apply Update folder if you already have one there.
I've just tried to install Cynaogen 7 for Milestone (here) but still the same issue : loop on the M logo...
Is it brick ?
grr.. there is a recent thread about pulling the battery out or something... right here
edit: was it this thread? geez I must be tired
What if you did the 3 wipes again and just try booting without reflashing...
I dunno what else to do.. sileshn is really good at this part hehe

I'll try to flash with GOT and try to do a diagnostic, what are you thinking about ?
That wasn't the thread I was thinking of but it was a different problem.

sileshn is another user here that is really good at this flashing sbf stuff.
But it sure wouldnt hurt to flash GOT.
Ok, I try it, and I'll tell you.

yes i even tried to go into stock recovery but same thing happens
When you flash the mulit-package and you can't go into recovery then I think you phone is damaged. Only what can you try more is using adb to get into recovery:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
At boot loop you mean the Samsung boot animation - or the logo that displays immediately when you try turn on you phone?

i have flashed stock S5830JPKKP9 wich is my baseband But can u provide me link for 2.3.3 kpo
Is S5830JPKKP9 a mulit-package? When yes than it isn't necessary to flash 2.3.3 KP0, doesn't make any difference. You can found 2.3.3 KP0 here https://hotfile.com/dl/127701476/7d30a8b/S5830XWKPO.rar.html but this is an European rom.
The logo when i immediately turn on da phone
I have bad news to you - I think you phone is damaged. Only what you can do is flash a mulit-package. When this doesn't help you must go to the service center. But try before turn on you phone put out the battery for a few minutes.
EDIT
Have posted wrong link, post edited - now it's ok.
Thanks for your effort ill try that... but wat is multipackage? Can i use adb to get into recovery as u said before?
multipackage is an firmware that is split in more files - flashing it make a eraser of all internal memory (have update my previous post whit correct link). You can try adb, but I think you will get "error - no device" because adb works on when the kernel boots - that means it will help when you have a classic boot loop on the boot animation - not on the SAMSUNG logo.
Are u sure that there is no other way to fix this?
Definitely yes.
Pls say cause im taking this to service centre 2morrow
I think the problem is you have overheat you phone - did you play on it when charging the battery? And second I think it isn't good to turn of you phone when he gets hoot - better to let it on and cools slow down.
I found out what really caused this problem so the day before i installed this app called "mobile odin" it asked me root permissons so i allowed it..then it said that the app is not compable with my device and then it asked me to allow it to create a dump file and it said that it could take almost 30 mins to complete and make that app compatible with my device...so i allowed it after 30min it said finished dumping after that i didnt switch off or reboot the phone that day...but i rebooted the phone the other day when it became hot while playing which caused this problem...i am saying this because some other user bricked his/her phone the same way!
I think I lost my phone now the same why -.- damit

While MobileOdin is not compatible with a Galaxy Ace http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899 I'm not sure how it would have bricked your phone when you didn't actually ask it to do anything.
As others have said, considering the inability to enter recovery after flashing a new bootlader & rom etc, a hardware error appears more likely perhaps as a result of overheating.
Too late it had to replace motherboard....

Hi,
I flashed the stock galaxy s rom from samfirewire.com.
After the flash i rebooted the phone. Now my phone is stuck on boot.
I says i9000 and then gives the battery charge indicator and reboots in a loop.
I can only start the phone when attaching it to the usb loader and boot the phone.
How can i fix this?

Pff. it looks like its waiting for a charger. i also tried another battery. that works the first time but after reboot same problem..
Try factory resetting it in recovery? If tjsy doesn't work try a data + cache + dalvik wipe and go to sammobile down load the latest 2.3.6 firmware, (I'm using xjw4 which works a treat) and flash that?

maybe you can try this!
- first download X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf from filecrop
put in the firmware folder on Flashtool
- flash that kernel, so you get your phone in 2.1
- root your phone with flash tool by clicking the cross icon
-unlock bootloader (remember do not unlock BL for 11w29+)
- flash the kernel
- backup
- factory reset, wipe data, etc
- flash your ROM
Done!

Thanks for ur information, I tried all those steps mentioned above. Now my phone is working fine. Now I installed GingerDX 028b
Okay please help. I have an unlocked bootloader (or had an unlocked bootloader) on my X8, it was rooted as well. I decided I'd like to get a custom Rom so I attempted to install GingerDX. I installed Clockwork Recover mod and tested it out to see if it was working. It was so I decided to back the phone up. The back up worked fine and I moved the backup to my computer. Then I restarted the phone to install the GingerDX rom. I cleared all the user data and I then went to install a zip file then chose the zip file. The installation completed so I pressed the back button and it said something about it being unsafe and that I will have no backup but I thought it was going to be fine as I had a backup of the kernel and the system on my computer.
I decided to ignore the warning as the installation said it was completed as well. But when I rebooted using Clockwork recovery mod the phone was stuck on the Sony Ericsson loading screen and was for around 10 minutes before I turned it off by removing the battery. I tried to enter the flash mode and reinstall the kernel on to the phone through flashtool but this failed and after that I can't seem to enter flash mode at all.
Please, is there any way for this to work? I'm guessing it's a hard brick but is there anything that I could try to fix it considering I have a system backup and the stock kernel backup as well? Anything will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
it looks like you're on stock kernel. custom kernels do not show the se logo (haven't encountered one that does and i've tried quite a lot). are you sure you unlocked your bootloader? if you did, you haven't flashed a custom kernel yet.
don't worry it's only a soft brick. try using seus, pcc, or flashtool to recover it and go back stock rom. flash the rom, not the kernel.
did you download the stock kernel version of gdx? if not, that's probably why you encountered a bootloop.
edit: you also need to wipe dalvik cache and do a full wipe before flashing a rom
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and I'm pretty sure I got the stock kernel version. Just in case I didn't can you send me a link if possible? Also I am on the stock kernel, I unlocked the bootloader but didn't bother flashing the kernel.
I've already tried PC Companion but I don't understand how to use it considering the phone actually cannot boot so I can't choose to connect the phone etc. Also I can't enter the clock work recovery mod anymore or the flash mode.

just download the stock rom for x8 and flash it using flashtool. you do need pcc installed for that anyway.
well, i believe you when you say you have gdx's stock kernel version. maybe it's just that you didn't wipe cache, dalvik cache, and full wipe before flashing it?
just a Q though. why not flash a custom kernel? it makes a huge difference.
btw here's the link for stock: http://goo.im/devs/TeamFun/GingerDX/GingerDX-v031b-shakira-stock.zip
edit: you need to flash the stock se rom first to get out of the bootloop. then reroot you phone, install cwm, reboot to recovery and wipe, flash the rom.

send it to a nearby Sony service center because your manufacturing date isn't safe to perform the unlocking of the bootloader, and yes, it is indeed a hard brick

This is not a brick, it is just a bootloop. i think, you didn't wiped data / cache ?! just flashed the zip?!
If you flash a rom with cwm, that is another rom then your actual one, then you will have to wipe data / cache.
So first go to CWM and wipe data / factory reset. then try to boot again.
If you need flashmode:
Turn off device (if it is stuck, press and hold Power + VolUp)
Then hold VolDown and connect the usb cable
PS: for the next time, try reading the pinned posts in dev forums before you ask such questions, cause this is BASIC KNOWLEDGE for flashing a device.
