Ill probably just wait for a G2x TPU case then.

In fact the 2X cases fit the G2X perfectly. Here's my listing on eBay for a TPU case: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320685392294&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
The second pic was taken today of the case fitting perfectly on the new T-Mobile LG Optimus G2X. All of the speaker, mic, charger and headset holes align perfectly with the G2X. I feel TPU cases give you the best features of both silicone and hard cases, but compliment the looks of the device better than any other case.

[Q] Screen protector already fitted?

Ahoy!
I am expecting to receive my O2X tomorrow, and obviously looking forward to it. I've been trying to find a screen protector (and case ala casemate..) but so far havent been able to find any ready for delivery in Denmark.
While googling, I came across an unboxing video which seems to show a screen protector fitted from the factory??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgzQMyKJh8A
Can someone please confirm that a screen protector is already fitted when unboxed?
Also, any recommendations for a decent case for the O2X? I use a casemate barely there for my hd2, but havent been able to find similar cases for O2X yet.
Thanks!
My LG Optimus 2X Speed shipped with T-mobile from the Netherlands has a screenprotector on it.
Have been using it since last thursday and it's still on, and I'm not having any intention of taking it off

Same for mine (Telmore Denmark)
Thanks!
Thanks for the info, much appreciated - Guess I can stop googling and wait for cases to show up in webshops eventually
If you want something like the casemate, I would have gone for the official LG CCH-120 (which also has a kickstand). I'm looking for something to protect my LG Optimus 2X when moved around as well, but I'm more of a pouch guy. I wouldn't want to cover such a beauty! I found a neoprene pouch with a closing flap at Amazon.co.uk which would've fitted nicely, but they don't ship outside of the UK.

Yeah saw the CCH-120 and seems nice, but unknown delivery dates in denmark at the moment - will probably buy it later on when its released.
If I occasionally drop my phone its usually while im using it, making a pouch kinda pointless for me unless it lands on it

The O2X that 3 sells also comes with a screenprotector pre-fitted onto it.
So did mine is got from callme. I pulled it off, those protectors look even worse than scratches...

It is just for packaging and just remove that stuff not needed with gorilla glass anyway ;-)

thats not a screenprotector! Its just protection for shipment! Its on all phones just look @ some more unboxings.
Why use a screen protector when the O2X got Gorilla Glass?

lol - so true.
It's a crap plastic film that distorts the picture. Every phone made with a screen since 1990 comes with one...
Remove it immediately, it offers no practical protection for day to day use, it's to prevent minor scuffs in the box.
IMHO, I don't like paying for phone insurance so I'll usually case up my phone & screen protect it. This is my preferred company for screen protectors.
Its way too bloody expensive. I am not a soldier.
Go to Google Shopping and search for:
"LG Optimus 2X 3 Pack LCD Screen Protector Guard"
DONT remove the speech marks.
If you can't find it go to G5-Online DOT com
I paid total £1.79 for three screen protectors. What else do you want for a bit of plastic.
Military grade plastic my arse.
I use Zagg invisibleSHIELD on my X2. Its great.
I always thought that gorilla glass could not be scratched with metallic materials. But when put against a rock it will still scratch. Or is this info wrong??
if you do it hard enough or at the right point, it will scratch
Nobody here heard of ebay?
There are a lot of screen protectors and cases there. Just keep in mind they are often mislabeled SU-660 products, so have a good look at the pictures before you buy.
Screen protectors with a hole for the physical home button is for SU-660. Silicone covers with a hole in the corner next to the power button is for SU-660, will fit P990, but will have a useless hole in the corner. P990 covers usually don't have holes for power button and volume buttons.
If you prefer using screen protector, I would recommend buying more than the included one, as a plastic film isn't everlasting..

Oh my, do you think my O2X must have screen protector to avoid that scratch?
Can you explain more about "hard enough" and "at the right point"?
Thx before..
the brand "copter" has got a screen protector... feels kinda similar to invisible shield, but its just for the front... its good thou... washable..
I protect the back/sides of the phone with a sillicone sleeve

What case is everyone using?

Hey all,
I'm struggling to find a good case for my optimus 2x here in the UK.
Currently have it in an IPODy type sock but would rather something with rubber edges that can be on the phone 24-7 rather than a leather case (though not completely opposed to this).
Seen the official LG case / kickstand isn't due out till November on play.com which is a bit cruddy.
Any option greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Really sorry, I did not buy this from Amazon, I purchased it from ebay.
Click Here For The Ebay Link
It's £2.90 which includes postage and packaging.
Again, really sorry if you have already ordered from Amazon.
But to be honest, they look EXACTLY the same.
Search this on Amazon:
Brand New Black Leather Pouch Case Cover with Pull Up Cord: for the LG Optimus 2X (P990) Mobile Phone. Part of the XYLO ACCESSORIES RANGE.
Its £3.65 it's bloody amazing. Trust me. The pull out cord is ultra smooth. Its tight at first but like all leather it molds to fit after a few days.

I got a Terrapin leather case - very good quality but it's a little wider than it needs to be but only just deep enough. £9.99 from Amazon UK.

I just ordered one! Thanks for posting this. I was using this cheap Nokia knock-off pouch with a tab pull that was the only thing I could find at the time.
Cheers for the info. At that price cannot go wrong. No way am i meeting this baby get knocked about!!

Just remember when you get it put the HDMI side in first (it deserves more protection LOL) and give it a push with your palm. Until the phone lines up with the leather case.

Yep, but overall I'm satisfied with the quality.
I don't have detailed informations about this case, I got rid of packaging quickly, so can't provide any informations.
Is there going to be a good hardcase for the Optimus 2X/G2X sort of like the otterbox for the iPhone 4? So far I've seen plenty of fancy leather cases and gel-molds, but no actual functional hard cases that look like they're really protect the investment.
Thanks.
There is an official hard case by LG but only exspansys have it at £20. I've bought a leather case for the mean time as ill either buy the LG one from play (its 9.99 but not in stock yet) or I'm sure unofficial ones will come out soon.

Those look pretty weak, I was thinking more along the lines of something that would protect it if dropped like the ballistic-hc iphone4 case (can't use an external link yet ><)
Don't use a case. Just have an empty pocket for my phone all the time.
@Taknek I'm like you and have it as the only thing in my pocket. Problem is i know it just takes 1 twonk to knock me at the bar and its gone and will prob smash. So temp measure is the leather pouch but would prefer a 24-7 case that would absorb some shock if droped.

I'm using one of those:
Very happy with it, especially the micro fabric cloth on the inside helps keeping smudges away
I'm using LG official plastic case with kickstand on the back.. really sexy..

[Q] Hard or Gel/TPU

Anyone have any opinions?
Pros/Cons?
I have a sillicone sleeve today, but to be honest its crap... CRAAAAAAAP!... it takes about 15minutes to a week to get it out of my pocket when its ringing :S
So.. wondering about getting another case, but cant deside to use hard or Gel/TPU.
Here are links to the two i've been wondering about.
Dont mind the skull, think they have others without any damn skull on it

Thx
Gel/TPU all the way for me.
It's like the best of both silicon & ABS merged into one.
This is what I've got.
i like the black gel case
IMO the best is a matte soft gel case. It is soft and easier to handle than glossy gel cases.
hard case for me, it makes the phone solid
Combination of both, hard and soft
MOMAX PC + TPU I Case Pro for LG Optimus 2x
try spg brand they have 3 type choose which you like

Could you measure the width and thickness (middle and at camera position) with this case installed.
I bought the kick stand case but it is quite thick.
I tried a silicon case for abou 15min. Hoping yo find a nice leather one. But everything seems so bulky..

I don't like silicone either. Was wondering how those "gel" ones feel like. I don't think i have ever held one myself, so i can't realy know how it is
They feel kinda like plastic, only flexible. Or at least the one I've bought for my O2X does. The one my friend has on his Desire is a bit more rubbery feeling.
i hate silicon too, far to grippy in the pocket and hard to get out, i just got the momax for my optimus 2x, its awesome! still grippy enough in the hand
This reminds me of the Old el Paso advertisement for hard or soft tacos, and the kid shouts "why don't we have both?"
I personally prefer hard cases, or sleeves. However I am not currently using a case on my O2X, I don't know which one to get!
Hard case
I vote for the hard one! So much easier to handle!

Clip on rear cases

I was using a clip-on plastic 'mesh' style case on my LG Optimus 2X, when it fell out my pocket today, and bashed the corners on the tarmac :-( The case actually came off in the process.
This type of 'rear and sides' only case looks nice, but offers very minimal protection. Because I wanted my phone to look 'better' I chose a lesser protective case, and now I have paid with dents/scratches next to the power button. The protection on the corners is lacking on this case.
Have now ordered a front and back case.. and swallow my pride in the name of protection ;-)
Do yourself a favour, DO NOT buy the clip on kind like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mesh-Hard..._MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3cb87adb6d
By the way.. I don't know what the cut out on the top corner of some P990 case is for? Is it for better signal?
no, the antenna is at the bottom of the device...
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
Weird then. Maybe it's to try and make it easier to press the power button then. Exposes that corner though whatever it's for (paranoid now :-() MY two year old TG01 is in better condition than my three 5 day old O2X d'oh.

The cases with the corner cut out is for the Korean variant of the Optimus 2x, it's for the TV antenna. Look up G2x cases if you don't want the corner cut out... Or look at the Trident Aegis case for the best protection on the G2x.

[Q] Could this case be the winner over Otterbox?

I'm using an Otterbox commuter on my optimus G now and it's really great, but the phone is getting old so I figured out why not to upgrade to the G4. I went on researching about accessories and found this thing.
THE QUESTION: Have anybody used a Love Mei case before, and is this better than an Otterbox case?
I'm really interested in it because it's half of the price of an otterbox case on ebay.
I can't post links because I'm new, but just google "LG G4 love mei case" and you'll find the webpage of Love Mei.
No case is better than Otterbox.

You might as well just drill a deep enough hole in a cinderblock and epoxy your phone inside it and carry that around. Would be the same thing. :good:
