Kernel for CM7 on Nexus One

Is there a good Kernel that can be used with CM7 besides the CM7 kernel?
did you even try looking in the development section? or searching?
Yes but everything is for CM6, I'm on 7.0, don't want to go back to 6.0 and can't a kernel to try because my camera does not work.
Did you try wildmonks kernel for cm7? wildmonks.iblogger.org is the site

I've searched and although I can find some CM7 kernels they aren't for the N1 specifically they all just list the Nexus S. Thanks namato for posting the link! if anyone has any others or even what they hell they searched for to find more CM7 kernels for N1 (and wouldn't mind posting the link) it would be appreciated. I'm hoping pershoot releases one for CM7 N1 soon!! ... I know he has one listed and it said NOT for RC0 ... wonder if he meant only RC0?

Where are you looking? Did it not occur to you that if you want a N1 kernel, maybe you should look in the N1 development section? They even say "Kernel" in the thread title (non of which even mention Nexus S).
Yes, I could hand you the link but it is literally right in front of your face.

Reviving old treat... basically kernels do not appear to be update and even the old ones have bad links/mirrors.
Any idea where i can get a good kernel to use with the latest CM7 nightly?

What is the most stable, quickest, best battery life rom/kernel combo for the G1?

Hi all. I'm wanting to do a custom rom/kernel on my girlfried's G1. What I want is something that she won't have to worry about with regards to stability. He also complains that her G1 is too slow. Sadly she's gotta wait until late summer to get a new phone. Overclocking options within the kernel would be nice, as I presume this would help with the speed of the phone.
So, what's the best that's out now? I did a bit of searching around but didn't find anything definitive. I flashed CM6 on there once before and it was a pain, so i'd rather be able to pick a rom and stick with it ;-).
Thanks in advance.

Id recommend CM4.2.15 but its no longer supported..but still gets the job done. Install defanged then 4:2:15 and don't foroget the ram hack. Sure..its only Donut but you said something about battery being important.
Will CM4 work with a 2708+ radio? My wife's G1 is running CM6 but it is just too sluggish for comfort.

Thanks, good tip. Though I see some post-flash hacking is necessary. I'm pretty handy in Linux but haven't gotten my hands dirty under the Android hood very much. Has anyone explained exactly what to do after flashing the new kernel to get everything connected up properly?

So, if I've already flashed CM4 and got it set up and running how would I go about flashing Super D if I decide to? I should of course do the necessary data/cache wipes but as far as flashing the rom, do I wipe, flash the defangled base, and then flash the Super D rom? If so I may do it as CM4 doesn't seem to be as quick as I had hoped... then again it's difficult to judge going from my Epic to my girlfriend's G1. I'll hve to ask her what she thinks.
Also, what kernel did you run with Super D? I'm still on the stock kernel with CM4 and if I flash another kernel, should I just wipe cache and install the kernel over whatever is on there now? I want to make sure it's essentially the same as flashing on my Epic befre I mess something up and have to do the entire process over again.
Thanks for all the help once again.

[Q] Which is the most stable rom for Galaxy Note

One of my friends wants me to root and flash a new rom to their Note but I have no idea which rom (ICS or GB) is the best.
Now before anyone flames me I just want to ask your opinions on the latest developments. Clearly I am asking for opinions. I also do not currently have this device.
Sent from CM9 Cornerstone Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Rocket gb is the most stable.
All GB Roms are very stable, and you won't go wrong if you flash any of them.
OTOH, ICS is not so stable and requires high user maintenance and fixing. I'd stay away from early ICS releases if I were you.

Cool thanks. Any recommended Rom aside from the one mentioned before as in what makes you go to it. I do understand about AOSP Roms and how unstable they can be in the beginning. Also is anyone planning to port CM9 to the note?

Maui is one taking care of CM9 port.. as of now there is no official leak yet. so once the leak is out then the development ll begin and the ROM ll be in hands soon.

Well, basically there are two types of custom GB roms ATM.
1. Light ones (much of the Samsung and other crapware removed)
They are fast and battery efficient. Some users don't like them because of the missing features. I prefer them, though: anything you need can be installed after flashing.
The light Roms are
Cassie's XL
Chrack's Small
2. Full Roms containg almost everything a stock Rom has
These Roms are somewhat (but not much) slower than the light ones, and their batter life can be slightly shorter if you do not monitor what your multitude of apps is doing behind your back, if you get my drift.
You'll find a full list of Note Roms with links here:

As I said before this isn't for me I personally don't have a note but am doing this for a friend and I know aosp ics is a little too unstable on anything for me to flash it to a device that I don't own. So that being said I will probably stick with gb unless they really want ics.

With this thread I am asking someone of you developers to make really lightweight, smooth ROM.

Well, stock is ungrateful and painful in development. I don't like to re-stock 50 times, root 50 times, put recovery etc. and still don't know what's going on because logcat doesn't even start. So I wouldn't expect so many ROMs.

Hi victorator,
If you can pull this off mate, you will be a LEGEND!!!!
I too am after summit like this, and I have trailled all over the forums trying to find ANY kind of GB rom that I can flash/install via CWM.
But so far all the links are either dead, or point towards viruses now!!!
If you can make a clean CM7, or know any decent GB roms that I can look into and rip parts of the TW out... that would be AMAZING!!!!
Good luck, really hoping you can do this!!!
Cheers, Lister
Good luck mate !

Good luck! Hope you'll make it!

Hi @victorator,
Is there any development, news on this pure CM7 rom for our Note's???
I know your working hard on newer roms, but would be cool to have a retro rom too.. Especially as I gained my Note later on, so missed out on all the Gingerbread roms... and having loved CM7 on my ZTE Blade. Would be cool to see what its like on N7000 too...
Good luck, hope all is well...
Lister
Hey man,
I'm sorry but I don't think I will be able to get CM7 running. Back in the day CM used a prebuilt kernel file. That's why I won't be able to compile it myself as they haven't put out the kernel for it.
I would love to give CM7 a go on the note as well but I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to get it to work.
Hi All,
Still think this would be an awesome feat, if ever it did come to our Notes. Sure it's old, sure... No one will prolly use it much afterwards anyway...
But heck, a lot of us grew up on what was the first main CM build (excluding CM6?? lol) aka, CM7 (Gingerbread).
Does anyone have the skills to help @victorator or others, get past the kernel issue and help build a CM7 rom. Apparently (although cannot confirm myself) that the S2 phone had a CM7, and "apparently" similar hardware...
Anyone got the know-how, to make this happen....??
Thanks, Lister
Main thing would be the kernel
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Hi All,
It would appear CM7 for the N7000 already exists.... and it was developed here, by someone on this very forum... But I have been searching high and low for it, and I canny find it....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note/help/cm7-android-2-3-7-n7000-existed-one-t2902446
Does anyone know who did it, or it's where abouts... Or those, who had this device in the early days still have a copy of it floating around on their HDD that they could re-upload?? As it seems the link in the source site, is now dead...
Cheers, Lister
