[Q] Add Sale code to CSC - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there is a way to create my own CSC files where i can add sale code. I have unzipped cache.rfs from my operator (in my case it's Panama PCW) and copied all setting to "system" (include csc directory, CSCFiles.txt, CSC Version.txt and SW_Configuration.xml). Then i update SW_Configuration.xml to every other sale code file, so my question is how to put it back to cache.rfs and then back to CSC file. I would appreciate any help. The reason, that Panama Cable and wireless will never do any firmware update and just setting correct APN not always work, since there is much more in custom param to make it work, like MTU size, MMS, setting etc.
Thank you very much

The way i would have carried out the task is to cook a rom in the rom kitchen .
Download it and unzip it .
Change CSC and anything else .
Then use Update.Zip to rezip the file and sign it .
Then flash via CWM .

How to extract a CSC file from a single file rom?

I want to try out the csc file from a i9000b rom on my i9000 but all I can find is single file roms.
Can I somehow extract the CSC file from it?
Rom is tar file unzip it .win rar works .
If inside is then image files open with Ultra ISO or similar .
Or build a rom with the CSC file you want in it .

None of the files are ISO. I get these files:
cache.rfs
factorfs.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
zImage
Also, the link you provided does not have any CSC for Brazilian portuguese. That's why I'm trying to extract it from the Brazilian SGS i9000b.

[Q] modifying csc of 1file rom

hello guys,
i have a 1file rom with a product code that i would like to change to my providers product code and i'd add swype for my language, too
so after some searching here and there i might have found a solution that should work
1-extract cache.rfs from the 1file rom
2-mount cache.rfs in ultraiso to unzip sec_csc.zip
3-i change this file (get the same file from my provider rom and add swype inside it and resign it with updatezip-packager
4-i repackage this sec_csc.zip into cache.rfs with ultraiso
5-i repackage the rom into 1 file or 3 file with rom packager or with ramad's method
6-flash and be happy
is this method useable?
thanks
That's really interesting, I was thinking to do exactly the same thing! I'd like to take PDA and Phone from JVR, and use the latest official CSC file released for my country.
Your procedure is complicated by the fact that you're starting with one-file rom. I was wondering... if I alreadyhave the 3-files JVR rom, do you think that just replacing the CSC.tar.md5 file would work?
for two 3file roms just swapping the csc.tar does the trick
however i have 1file roms and i'm uncertain if it works here this way or not
You could follow this guide or better this script to transform your 1-file rom into a 3-file version. It should be easier.

[Q] Flashing a different CSC package

Does anyone know where I can grab a stand alone Odin/CWM flashable CSC package, I need to have the right CSC actiavated on my phone so that I wont have market errors. The CSC is GLB which can be found from a DXKK1 firmware (OLBKJ6) or is there a way to extract the CSC package from a single .tar firmware odin flashable?

In case you flashed a non multi-csc ROM and now are missing your CSC you can do this:
1. Get hold of an old ROM update package. Open it up and browse to /system/csc
2. Copy your regional CSC folder(in your case GLB) from that archive to your phone SD card.
3. Dive into a root explorer on the phone (make sure 'system' is mounted as writable) and copy the folder you have in Step-2 to your phone's /system/csc
4. Dial *#272*{your imei number goes here}# and install your CSC.
Hope that helped.
Cheers.

[Q] CSC files via ODIN

Hello,
trying to repair an error that is bugging me to hell. When you run the recovery than thers a thing, this thing (error '/system/csc/MOT/system/', proceeding with MULTI CSC)
So I was thinking that when I would flash it with the correct CSC file from my carrier MOT (I9070MOTLE2) and get rid of the the Multi one.
And yes, does any one know why is my stock recovery written in red - is this normal? Da faq ;/
Thanks in Advance
I know that i can edit the previous post, but let this serve as a bump.
Is there a way lets say I could copy my carriers csc into the multi one and delete all others and then rename the whole flashable zip with the right name as it were my carriers separate csc file and just integrate it into the multi csc file. Probably I can do it this way, but in the multi csc zip there are three files in it;
- cache.img.md5
- GT-I9070_EUR_XX8G.pit.md5
- hidden.img.md5
so which of them should be modded to? How are those two files involved in the cache one which has the csc info? Why is there a pit file again? Or in other words.. which files trigger the correct order to successfully apply the modded csc.
If you can help me, I can guaranty that there will be "thanks" raining as Im not alone with this problem.

Hello, I'm looking for ways to eliminate MULTI CSC, but I have not found anything.

How to get CSC from stock ROM base (update)

Many users wanted to flash their own CSC on custom ROM. Here is small guide how to get original CSC from base and add to custom ROM.
1.Download your desired ROM from SamMobile (OR use if you have any base already with you from same region)
2.Extract zip to get tar.md5 - again extract it to get cache.img.
3.Get Img Extractor from here Extract exe file on a new folder. copy extracted Cache.img in this folder as well.
4.Drag and drop cache.img you have extracted from base on ImgExtractor.exe
5.You will see newly created folder cache.img_ along with exe
6.Open cache.img_ - recovery - sec_csc folder, you will see system folder. - Drag and drop that system folder on you desktop.
7.Now download csc_changer_new.zip template from here and drag and drop system folder on root of zip. (so after this when you open zip you should see three folders data, META-INF and system)
8.Flash that zip immediately after flashing ROM.
Update : Updated script so it will auto backup all ROM CSC features and auto restore after changing CSC
Repo
Here is sample ready made pack. (you can submit if you make for your region)
1.India CSC for N910G - Download and flash zip immediately after flashing ROM.
2.DBT CSC - Download and flash zip immediately after flashing ROM
.
Updated script so user have not to manually copy ROM CSC features.
.
thx doc.
Your download link drops csc_N910G_India.zip.exe which is malware, WTF?

Using 7zip on Windows I get a cache.img.ext4 file which does not create the expected files when dropped onto ImgExtractor.exe.
May I get a clue?

Thank you for your reply...
I put both files on my desktop and then dropped the file onto the .exe.
It seemed to do something but still no folder.
Log saying folder created. Look again folder somewhere on desktop. Better you make new folder and put exe inside it then drop cache.img so it's can easily located inside that new folder

Okey dokey, I think I'll settle this once and for all.
@catseyenu was using the wrong download link. As you can see from going to the download page there are 2 download buttons, the first which says "Download" is a fake download link and will redirect you to another site and try to get you to download some sort of software in .exe form.
The correct link is the one that says "Download Now" which I have verified this and was able to download it without any problems.
With Dev-Host it is a case of knowing which download link to press. On a side note, our (XDA's) partnership with Dev-Host has ended due to them not wanting to control the ads that they have and often redirecting users to other sites and trying to get them to download possibly malicious software. Due to this I would encourage the OP to use other file hosts such as AndroidFileHost for example.
Thank you Jonny for clarifying the status of the malicious host.

Actually for small Download I also prefer mega which is now a days offers highest Download speed and most users prefer it. Initially I have posted link was mega. But I need to update it and particularly this file targeted for Indian users, and many provider in India have blocked mega so this time I made dev host upload.
For rom I prefer dev /pCloud and Media fire bcoz all three gives Web upload (remote uoload) option so I can provide three mirrors by uploading at one place.
Again thank you very much for being with us always.

Sir, this method can be used for completely stock rom?
German CSC for N910F
Hey Guys,
if anybody is looking for the german csc you can download it from here: http://workupload.com/file/Km2FjCof
I made it according to dr. ketans explanation. Just one thing when I go into phone info / CSC-Code it states:
Original CSC.-Code: INU
Firmware CSC-Code: DBT
Active CSC Code: INU/ DBT
Available CSC.-Codes: BTU, CPW, DBT, ITV, KOR, XEF, XEO
CSC Country: Germany/DE
Do I need to use the csc changer apk and therefore wipe everything? Or am I good even though active CSC is Indian and German??
I am on Nameless Rom 4.2 and the reason for me doing this was because of the message I receive on every boot up stating: Texting just got better.... Where you need to give your mobile number (you can also just click 2 times on no but thats not an option for me) But even after I flashed my CSC zip it still shows up.
@dr. Ketan do you have a solution or did i do something wrong? I did it step by step. Hope to receive an answer.
Probably that is issue of rom and not csc.
Indian csc causing send a text message to Indian number that should be fixed (on latest nameless I think prefixed) by changing csc
Sent from my SM-N920I using xda premium
I solved with the csc changer app, i switched to dbt and had to wipe everything. Restored my apps and date with titanium backup, now i am running with german csc on nameless rom 4.2
And the texting got better pop up disappeared
CSC Note 5
I tried this on my new note 5. I flashed a TMOBILE rom and that totally screws with csc and features. This does work in the sense that it brings back my multi csc for my Canadian note. However where I get the problems is similar to the gentleman above. It only partially applies the csc that I need. When I flash the zip. It attributes a generic out of the US csc XAC. When i try something like Phone info Samsung to change it to RWC. It only changes where its says active csc and it still shows XAC as also active. ANd firmware csc and original csc still show as XAC. Why when i flash the stock rom does it default to RWC eventhough the csc files are the same, but with a custom rom XAC?
