[Q] o2 stock kernel I9000ADJP3 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Really need some help if there's a friendly Guru out there. Basically I flashed my Samsung Galaxy S with supercurio's Voodoo kernel (amazing) but after using the phone for a week or two I realised the microphone was dodgy (sounded like I was constantly in a toilet). So I need to send it back to O2 without the modified kernel but I can't find the kernel for the original O2 ROM :-(
I've disabled the lagfix and it's back on RFS by the way.
Here are the details of the phone, if anyone could point me in the direction of the best firmware to flash it back to so when I return the phone they won't say I've invalidated my warranty
Service Provider = O2
Country = UK
Language = English
Baseband version = I9000ADJP3
Kernel version = curio carton #Voodoo_stable_5.4.1
Build Number = FROYO.ADJP6
Thanks in advance for any advice you could give.

to get back to the stock kernel you will have to flash the ROM again.
Did you make a backup of your ROM ??
if not get onto www.samfirmware.com and download it from there.
if it doesnt have your firmware, any 2.2.1 (froyo) ROM will do, if questions are asked (very unlikely) say you updated thru KIES.

O2 firmware you get only from O2 via Kies .Unless you saved a backup of your rom as been said . Stock rom flashed via Odin will not give you the O2 firmware .
Stock rom flashed and the phone updated via Kies spoof method is about the best way of getting O2 firmware .
Stock = Samsung firmware before its handed over to O2 and has been said many service centres do not bother about it . However non O2 firmware is not covered under warranty if O2 want to be picky .
The key to all this is nobody bothers to save the original rom in the headlong dash to flash anything. That means no stock of custom network roms .
jje

Unfortunately I didn't back up the stock ROM :-( been to SamFirmware and think this is the closest I'm going to get.
I9000AOJP5
Says it's O2 branded and has english version, the download includes 3 files, so I guess I can't just replace the Kernel I have to update the whole ROM:
GT-I9000-CSC-VIAJP3.tar.md5
I9000AOJP5-REV03-ALL-low-CL713698.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000AOJP3.tar.md5
I'm assuming I can download the .pit from the main page but there are 3 versions
Galaxy S / .PIT File: DOWNLOAD. (512)
Galaxy S / .PIT File: DOWNLOAD. (513)
Galaxy S / .PIT File: DOWNLOAD. (803)
Any clue what the difference is or can I use either?

512 unless stated otherwise on samfirware .
jje

Just found my stock O2 uk firmware uploading now it will take a while .
This method worked and installed the correct network addons for O2 UK .
From downloaded rom open with zip program and extract to desktop MODEM bin file Then drop the full rom tar on the desktop as well .
Example saved rom is JP5_JP3_U_JP3.tar Modem.bin is inside that fail extract and place together with unopened JP5_JP3_U_JP3.tar on desktop .
You will also need odin 512 pit if its not with Odin .
Open Odin
- make sure you UNTICK Re-Partition Checkbox (which is the default choice)
- Choose "s1_odin_512pit" as PIT
- Choose " the tar file you saved as PDA
- PHONE Use MODEM.bin
- Leave CSC blank
- Start Phone in Download-Mode (see image at bottom)
- Connect Phone via USB
- "Start" Flash using odin
- Goto Recovery mode (see image at bottom) and do Factory Reset / Data Wipe
- Reboot, and wait for full start up. Unplug phone from USB.
- Close Odin.
Its the MODEM file that contains the network extras .>dont want them then you could try just flashing the saved rom tar as it installed Froyo with no network add ons for me .
Thats how i did a recovery to Froyo O2 last year

Great soon as O2 release i will revert to o2 Froyo use Kies to update and save new O2 rom . Then straight to rom kitchen and build a better rom .

Darn it, wish I'd read this before I started going gung ho into things.
Tried to flash the I9000AOJP5 ROM using the 812 pit all from samFirmware, they stated to use this pit and that the ROM was an O2 branded 2.2 version. This caused my phone to fail on boot with the following warning:
E:Can’t mount /dev/block/stl10
(Invalid Argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can’t mount DBDATA:
So I tried the earlier version of the ROM I9000AOJP4 with the same results (still on the 812 pit and repartitioning). I read that a lot of people had not had success with the 812 pit so I looked for 512 version and compatible ROM.
Decided on I9000XXJP3 as this seemed like a lot of people had success with it and seemed common enough for me to send the phone back with and not raise too many questions (fingers crossed).
After flashing the ROM and all appearing successful it now appears that the phone can no longer enter download or recovery mode. So I've factory reset it, wiped everything and am not sending it back with my fingers crossed for 2 weeks that they replace the entire unit and I get a nice new O2 ROM to mess up again
Thanks for your help guys, all this flashing of ROMs mallarkey seems far too complex and troublesome for me, why can't Samsung just produce a ROM that is as fast as Voodoo and then we'll all be happy!
Cheers again

[Q] Debranding SGS and updating to 2.2

Hi guys.
I just got a SGS yesterday as my HTC Desire was stolen last week.
The one I got is a German T-Mobile branded phone (has customised boot and shutdown logo) and I really wan't to get rid of the branding and all those useless apps on it. I live in Denmark so i have no use for T-Mobiles apps that don't work here.
Now i have been reading a lot yesterday on these forums and reading lots of guides but I'm still unsure what route to go. Currently the phone is running 2.1 and I wan't to upgrade to 2.2 or 2.2.1 but unbranded, and then root the phone a bit later and probably move to Darky's Gingerbread edition ROM.
From what i can gather there are 2 methods to do this, but I can't really find out witch one would be right for debranding.
1. Using KIES registry pattcher and change my product code to XEE (Nordics) and try that to flash it to official 2.2 and root that.
2. Using this [HOWTO] manually flash Samsung Galaxy S with JPY firmware ** WORKS **
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.
[EDIT] Forgot to mention that i can boot the phone in both download mode and recovery mode holding the 3 buttons, so no need to fix that first.
Information on my phone:
Product code from KIES registry:GT-I9000HKDDTM
*#1234#
PDA: I9000BOJG3
PHONE: I9000BOJF1
CSC: I9000GDTMJH2
Build number:ECLAIR.BOJG3
Firmware revision:2.1-update1
Baseband:I9000BOJF1
Kernel version:[email protected] #2
1. Using KIES registry pattcher and change my product code to XEE (Nordics) and try that to flash it to official 2.2 and root that.
Thats the way to go but you would be best to safe a copy of the current ROM for warranty purposes as you would need to flash it back to make a claim .
Flashing via Odin only if you cannot use method 1 .
jje
Ok, thanks.
But how do I make a backup of the current rom? There is no download for it at far as i can tell.
Get Backup from Samfirmware.com
Go to Samfirmware.com click on Firmware then go to Firmware Section. Select then Android and then Galaxy S GT-I9000. Then download the I9000XWJG3 firmware.

But XWJG3 is not a T-Mobile branded firmware is it? If it is nothing on these guides makes any sense.
Btw I did find a I9000BOJG3.rar file on some download page, downloaded and it does contain the following files that match my current versions. I have no idea if it's a working flash but if it is I would be able to flash thsi from odin to return to stock right?
I9000BOJG3.rar file contains:
CODE_I9000BOJG3.tar.md5
CSC_I9000GDTMJH2.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000BOJF1.tar.md5
Oh my Fault. I tought that only the ending is important (Like if the ending is JP7 than it's a Vodafone Firmware and if the ending is JG3 it's a T-Mobile
But XWJG3 is not a T-Mobile branded firmware is it? If it is nothing on these guides makes any sense
You get branded firmware from the network operator .
All firmware on these pages is non branded .
Again my suggestion is to use Kies registry patcher and spoof the update to whatever you want .
jje
I'm also trying to debrand my SGS and get Froyo, but I'd also like to make a backup of my original ROM. However, my ROM isn't available in samfirmware.com. It's I9000BVJJI1 and I want to update to I9000BVJJPD, which one of my friends has and probably is the same hardware.
Is there any way to backup my original ROM?
Your rom and every network rom comes from the network Sam is generic base roms .
Back up = Clockwork Mod Recovery to save the rom .
May i repeat if you dont know what you are doing then dont this forum is littered with broken phones belong to newbies who have not bothered to read and understand and now need to take the phone back to Samsung for repair with non valid firmware that has invalidated the warranty .
jje
Just did the update via KIES using the patcher and everything went smooth.
Saved the new firmware during flashing and a factory reset after the flash as i had basically nothing on the phone yet.
Right now I'm on 2.2
PDA: I9000XWJPA
PHONE: I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000XEEJP4
Not rooted yet, but I'm gonna do that tomorrow probably.

[Q] Can't mount /dev/block/st110 [Solved]

Hoping a kind soul can help a total fool who should have left well alone!
I have a UK Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone that was unlocked by the previous owner but still had all the "3" branding which I wanted to remove. I was already on ver 2.2 (updated via Kies) although I don't know the exact revision.
After lots of reading (obviously not enough) I followed a guide to reflash via Odin v1.7 to I9000XWJS3 using separate files for PIT (803), PDA, PHONE and CSC. The guide said to tick Re-partition on which might have been the cause of my problem.
Needless to say after the flash, I got the error message "Can't mount /dev/block/st110" and subsequent reboots just give me a black screen. I still had access to the download mode so I tried another posts solution to fix the black screen starting with a flash to I9000XXJPC with a 512 pit and re-partition again. This time the odin process started but no progress bar materialised. After a very long while I disconnected. Thankfully I can still enter the download mode but this time am hoping someone with more knowledge is willing to help me though the process of recovering my phone if its still possible.
Just looking for any stock UK firmware and then I will let Kies update from now on.
Many Thanks

You still can use xxjpc, with repartition ticked. Many a times, odin will fail for no reasons. Try again, but make sure you close Kies completely.

Thanks g00ndu. You gave me the courage to re-run xxjpc again by confirming I was on the right track and this time it worked. Small donation on its way for helping me recover my phone.
I have one further question though. Can someone confirm if the I9000XXJPC firmware is for the UK? I hope to only use Kies from now on but it now says "the version of the device cannot be updated". I am using the latest version 2.0.0.11014_49.
Thanks again
Edit - Kies lists the current firmware version as PDA:JPC / PHONE:JPC / CSC:JPC (KOR). Something tells me I have the wrong country firmware. If anyone can provide a link to the correct one and the Odin settings I should use it would be greatly appreciated.
Still trying to get a solution to this and have noticed that my product code in Kies registry entry is GT-I9000HKDKOR. I am wondering if this is because I used a wrong CSC file?
Any directions would be very welcome.
Thanks
Go to www.samfirmware.com and grab the Europe/UK firmware. Get a 2.2.1. one. All the CSC, Phone, Modem files should be in the package.
Thanks snapper.fishes. I am now downloading I9000XXJPU (512.Pit) - hopefully this one is correct as some of the downloads for 2.2.1 show (803.Pit). As there are no instructions with this I assume I don't click re-partition. Is this correct?
Thanks for the help
This is almost soul destroying....
I ran the update "I9000XXJPU (512.Pit)" as mentioned above and it flashed successfully. I am now on 2.2.1
Re-plugged in the usb cable and no windows popup to view the sd contents and nothing in "My Computer". Kies recognises something has been plugged in but remains on "connecting" - the phone itself shows the usb graphic and "connected".
I then went into Settings -> About Phone and there is no USB Settings option.
And just to rub it in I typed in *2767*4387264636# as per the wiki guide on here to view the Product code and it's still on Korea GT-I9000HKDKOR.
Edit - Have now tried *#1234# and the phone says:
PDA: I9000XXJPU
PHONE: I9000XXJPU
CSC: I9000OXAJPU
Not even sure if this bit helps
In case this is a help to other novices like me with the wrong product code. I found the following info and you don't need to be rooted to run it:
E.g. Changing CSC to XEU: Note - this will only work if the multiCSC was used when firmware was flashed
Type *#272*IMEI# and select XEU to install. (to check IMEI: *#06#)
Phone will reset to the default setting (perform a backup beforehand if req)
XEU = UK's product code
As for the USB issue (no USB Settings menu option in About Phone), is this just a change in the 2.2.1 menus? I noticed a USB Settings menu in "Wireless and network" and they have changed how this works. Kies still refuses to connect to the phone, but maybe this is just Kies.
Thanks
Jpu firmware is broken with kies. I think from memory that jpy and onwards allows that connection.
Jpu wasn't considered a official firmware but it worked incredibly well.bar the kies problem.

Me Too!!
I'm getting the same error the op did.
What happened? I flashed CM7 and it worked fine. I then decided to do a restore with the backup I had made earlier with CWM, this is when **** went wrong. Couldn't boot up after this or get to recovery. Went into download mode and tried to reflash factory firmware. JL2 Andriod 2.2 for Bell Canada I9000. Says successful but just boots to 3e recovery with " /dev/block/st110, (Invalid argument), E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA: "
Below that it says: " your storage not prepared yet. please use UI menu for format and reboot actions. copy default media content failed.
My biggest fear is the dreaded Int.SD card failure, the op gave me hope but same thing after every reflash.
Any suggestion?
I also have a Bell I9000M that did that. After attempting several combinations what ended up working for me was flashing JPU with 512.pit and repartition enabled, modem, PDA and CSC all selected in odin 1.3. That got me a working device. Then flashed JH2 to get recovery 2e back. Then flashed to the ROM I was originally on (Darky's 9.3). After that I flashed a CWM zip for the JL2 modem to get data back.

Also very important, for JH2 I did PDA only. No pit, no repartition.

Thanks icejagans. Its a relief to know that this is just an incompatibiliy between kies and the JPU firmware. Do you know if there has been an official 2.2.1 firmware available via Kies for UK unbranded I9000s?
Edit - icejagans you're a star, the JPY update fixed the USB oddity I was having and even Kies now connects OK. I will mark this thread as solved.

[Q] a question about debranding, which firmware.

hello,
my phone is branded to orange in the uk. i have been looking into this for the past 3 days.
i am now at the point where i am ready to flash with odin but i am unsure which firmware to flash with, and i have read so much info im getting my head all wrapped around the situation
basically my current firmware is
PDA:I9000 BVJS4
PHONE: I9000 BVJP4
CSC: I9000 ORAJS4
version 2.2.1
i have looked at http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm and the amount of firmware staggers me not one all i am requesting if someone would be so kind and reply saying "flash this one mate"
i may have already read the answer but i have spent 3 days trying to figure it out for myself.
it was locked to orange but i have since unlocked it. it is currently rooted.
im not particularly bothered about warranty because i can add it to my home insurance to cover loss or damage. and from what i have read the phone is difficult to brick fully,
i have the download mode already, its just a case of get the firmware and flash.
i apologise for the very long post and i hope someone can help me
thanks for reading.
EDIT: i already have a backup of the efs folder
in my opinion don't use odin only , only if you want stock or root . Go to Doc Rambone's kitchen and build yourself your desired rom . I suggest JS8 wipe (you will lose all your data) or nonwipe ( you will have crappy data from previous rom ) , select your own csc if you want APN Settings , hardcore/SuperCurio/DamianGTO(never tested this) Kernel at your own desire , an european modem , themes sounds and boot amination at your own desire and need , and at apps and tweaks choose what you think you will use. SORRY FOR CRAPPY ENGLISH ( I'm not a native English speaker and I wrote very quickly .
I agree you can choose a CSC to suit your network .
CPW CSC covers all UK networks .
XWJS8 v9.9.5 WIPE base rom
CPW csc
Hardcore's Kernel *RECOMMENDED* kernel
JPX modem
Apps choose what you want .
Themes and boot animation choose what you want .

thamks guys, i have used odin to flash the new jvk firmware, (there is an app on market for my apn settings (im on giffgaff))
i have used criskelo's rom in the develeopment forum with his theme.
it really does amaze me when only 2 weeks ago i didnht know anything about odin or flashing and now i can downgrade/upgrade my firmware using odin, root it. and its all thanks to this wonderful website!
i even know how to install different themes etc and now i just installed a battery im just astounded.
there are a few other questions:
1) if i want to change my theme, can i just install it over the old one using cwm?
2) is there a thread/website etc where i can download certain mods? (ie i see a few of the themes have the market in different colours, different lock-screens, i just wondered if there was another place where i can get these from to install)
3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934729&highlight=theme+creator i have found this but there doesnt seem to be a guide or anything, i cant get it to download the framework from my phone? i have tried in usb mode (kies and mass storage) download mode and mounting usb storage from the cwm. what i havent ried is with debugging mode on.

hi gazza1988, good to know u were able to debrand and flash the firmware through ODIN.
I also got my SGS through 3 UK. Its unlocked now.
But i am not am not able to install any apps and market is also not working. I also want to remove the branding.
My current config is :
PDA : I9000NEJP5
PHONE : I9000NEJP2
CSC : I9000HCGJP5
I want to flash to a stable stock firmware. Some people on forums suggested to flash JS8.
I downloaded I9000XWJS8 from samfirmwares.com but it has only one file - NEE.tar (which i guess is PDA file).
Will my current modem and CSC be compatible with I9000XWJS8 ?? Do i need to include .PIT file and select repartition ??
hi, if you want to debrand you will need new complete (ie 3 firmwares csc pda phone etc)
i assume you have odin already
if you want to debrand then download the jpu firmware (has all 3 files) here http://hotfile.com/dl/99955459/dea6962/I9000XXJPU.rar.html password for archive is samfirmware.com
once you have flashed that one go back into download mode and flash the NEE.tar as PDA to update to JS8.

Thanks for the quick reply man !!!
Do i also need to select PIT file and select re-partition ??
Also samfirmware has listed I9000XXJPU firmware download as 1 file only. Link
Like this :
I9000XXJPU ## | 512.PIT | Version 2.2.1 | 2010 December | DOWNLOAD | 1 file select NO .PIT
I've have started the download anyway, so lets see.
As i'm using my SGS in India, is it better to flash an Asian firmware with CSC which has info about indian networks ?? Can u tell me which Asian firmware on this page has all 3 files ?
possibly would be better to flash asian but what the effects of changing from one region to another are im not 100% may be worth startin a new topic in this forum as people are less inclined to look in here as they think my issue is being seen to by someone else.
the asian firmware for india is DD (ie I9000DDxxx so i would guess that the I9000DDJF2 would contain all 3 files to flash then you would have to flash I9000DDJP6 to get indian stock froyo firmware. but i would ask a more experienced person about moving regions i was a noob at this 2 weeks ago.
i am 90% certain that flashing indian firmware would debrand and enable the market, it may be worth adding a post to this thread detailing what you have now and what you would like (ie branded uk firmware to stock indian firmware - it may also be worth asking if you can use european firmware with a indian csc as i have read the indian froyo is not very good)
the reason you cant download apps from the market would be your location (ie the phone's firmware is 3 UK and you are in india so it get "confused". do you have 3g connectivity.
i have researched some of this and the CSC (country specific code) is what holds the apn settings etc so you would need an indian csc

Yes, i have 3g, but not able to sign in to google account even with 3g. And the strange part is that i can't even directly install most of the apk files. Adobe flash player apk didn't install. Even asphalt 5 didn't install. I was able to install Winamp for android. I downloaded many apks for the internet (some of them specifically packed for SGS) but 99% of them don't install on my SGS.
I have started this thread, so lets see.
Is I9000XXJPU a Unbranded firmware ?? I think we can safely assume that if I9000XXJPU firmware is designed for factory unlocked phones sold by samsung in Europe when i could solve the market issues. And i can manually enter the APN settings of my network. The issue currently i think is the 3 UK crap.

I had a problem with my stock SGS rom and was forced to flash it, but i now have a different rom installed on my SGS, the booting animation (for example) isn't from vodafone anymore.
And KIES doesn't recognize my current rom (for update), so i wanted to know how could i leave everything exactly like it was before. So that i could update to gingerbread the official way and still have a fall back plan.
One last thing, i used odin (v 1.3) to flash it, can i "safely" reverse from 2.2.1 to 2.2 (original from vodafone)? And how?
Thanks again for the help.
I'm very sorry for the long text.
Just use the wonderful & usefull searchbox and find this:
Rom list
Thank you for the reply, i've been on that thread, but still i don't know which is my rom and if the csc will be return to stock.
Thank you again

Stock is not the rom that came with the phone its stock Samsung rom .
You need to have saved your original rom or find somebody that did .
Your Vodaphone upgrade path through Kies will fail as you do not have a Vodaphone rom .
2.2 to 2.1 via Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked .Just use 2.1 rom from samfirmware .
May help .

Thanks for the fast reply,
Are there any special precautions or guides to revert from 2.2.1 to 2.2?
With the csc. (i've flashed before but i only had one tar file, nothing else).

Also dont be to scared of vodafone. If you have a stock Samsung android, instead of the Vodafone, you still have warranty. Only thing that can happen is that when you send your phone in, they'll flash a Vodafone rom back on and you'll be having all the vodafone crap back on it.
Really? That's the best news i've heard, since i had this problem. Thanks a lot, how did you know this?

The terms and conditions do not say you can flash any old rom and not break your warranty .
The position is one with a stock rom you may get away with warranty repairs but it will depend upon who you take it to and even the guy picking up the phone .
Samsung service centre and they may well repair .
Vodaphone service centre and its clear that they do not have too repair as you have broken your terms of warranty with Vodaphone .
So rule one is a back up of your original rom will nearly always be the safest path it also allows you to use the Kies method for official firmware updates if you want to revert back .

Experience: I messed up 2 of my previous phones (SE and HTC) due to flashing firmwares and brought them to T-Mobile and Vodafone, telling them the phone got stuck in boot. They took them in and when I got them back, they had Vodafone and T-mobile firmware on them again.
But as jje stated, its offcourse always the best to have a backup of your phones firmware. Its always possible some annoying Vodafone guy pops up, and makes a big deal out of it.
Thanks for all the input,
I never wanted to flash my sgs, but i screwed up the original rom and the phone didn't boot so it was my last resort.
Due to that i didn't make a backup.
In kies i have my rom as KOR and it says that i can't update, if i that *#272#imei code and put it in XEU, would it work? In theory.

Is there a way to download ROMs from the Kies server so that they can be flashed manually at a later date? I'm thinking that if I need it, I can flash back to the latest H3G branded firmware for warranty purposes.

[Q] Still can't get stock fw on properly

Hi if someone can help id really apprteciate it. Dunno why this is confusing me so much.
Anyway I want to put stock uk firmware on my galaxy s so I can sell. Pretty sure it was the unlocked stock firmware.
I tried doing the reg hack on kies - it finds update and then says device version wrong.
I tried using spooffw - for some reason it updates the pda ok but doesnt update phone/csc (click ok and it reverts back to whatever it was on before)
I tried installing JM1 from samfirmwares and whent into kies and again says cannot update on this device.
Can anyone tell me what I need to flash onto this bloody phone so I can get kies to upgrade to the oficial fw.
I would like to put on a 2.1 rom and then have kies upgrade then I know its stock. I downloaded jf3 but that didnt come with phone or csc ? where would I get them?
first of all its not a bloody phone
then why you want to use kies? you can flash a rom by odin easily, just do some study for how to flash a rom and proceed,
kies sometimes have strange behaviours, personally I never used kies after I tried it once
I take it you want not the stock rom but the rom provided by the phone provider .
Two routes one replace the original rom you saved .
two flash stock rom lower version than current rom on Kies . Use a method of spoofing the correct codes for the original product .
Kies only updates if the correct codes for product firmware device and hardware are showing . Once you go the unofficial flashing firmware route Kies may not find these codes until you find the correct codes .
Stock = Samsung firmware Original = network branded that came with the phone .

Hi flashing a rom isn't the problem but flashing a rom that makes my i9000 appear un tainted by custom roms etc is where I'm having the difficulty. I wanted to do the final update via kies then I would know that kies thinks my phone has genuine firmware. If it wont update via kies then this is a clear message that the phone has been tampered with and I may not get the money from the company.

You are right I want original firmware. Main problem is I have no idea what this would have been. I didn't make a copy as my first upgrade involved doing a kies reg hack before there were any custom roms and I stupidly didn't take note of what I was currently on. What I do know is that my phone has never had any operator logos or software on it. (unlike my gs2)
I have tried doing the reg hack on kies 2.0 but apparently thats not properly supported yet (can I use an older kies 1.5 or something? or will it ask to be upgraded?)
I have tried using spooffw but step 3 (where you set phone and csc) doesnt work, when you press ok is reverts back to whatever it had on before no matter the value you enter.
Does anyone know of an o2 stock firmware that has been uploaded somewhere? ideally with pit, csc modem and pda. then I can hopefully use odin and then confirm that all is ok in kies?
Or if I am going to go the spoof route (probably with kies 1.5 as 2 is not playing ball) does anyone know what values I should use for each?
Thanks
well on www.samfirmware.com there is a list right at the bottom for provider FW, maybe one of them is o2 firmware, check it and see if any of them stand out as the one you had firstly.
why do you need o2 firmware specifically ??
you can sell your phone with JPY 2.2.1 stock and no one would be the wiser .

jpy? so is that a firmware you could actually get on a device brought in uk? which specific download should I choose? Once downloaded and flashed if I connect to kies will it be able to do future updates?
EDIT woohoo I did as you said and used UK JPY found here
http://www.multiupload.com/PZNPALHVDW
and its now being picked up in kies saying latest firmware installed. Excellent now I can sell it without worrying.
bit sad it was definately the best phone ive owned and there still doesnt seem to be much out there that can push it to its limits (let alone the s2) still the extra screen size and better pixel layout are definately worth the upgrade.
Thanks everyone for your help.
If thats not it i uploaded O2 JPY within the last month linked in two posts .Dont know where though .Its probably mine on Sammy anyway .
Flashed direct as PDA via Odin . If problems after with modem . Unzip file extract modem flash file again as PDA and also the modem file is what i did .
