New to the android world. I just got my moto charm B502 from tmobile. I've already rooted it and done alot of research but I just can't get a definitive answer...are there any custom roms for the B502 with motoblur? And if so can I please have suggestions on the best ones? Thanks for any help.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forums and I have been thinking whether to root my phone or not, mainly for warranty purposes as I just got it a few weeks ago.
My question is, if I do root the phone, are there custom Froyo 2.2 roms available on this site and if so a)can you please link them to me and b) explain how to install?
I would like to also hear some input/feedback to what's the pros and cons of rooting my phone and if its actually worth it and what happens if something happens and I can't fix it?
I really appreciate with all the help I can get and thanks
I'm new here myself but haven't you ever heard of Google my child? Or heck, search the forums there are plenty of them explaining how to.

At the moment there is one ROM which you can use for your daily used one.
- Azure from Ali Bau (take a look at the thread)
I use the ROM since two weeks and don't have any issue.

Thanks for information. All I have to do is, do more research and find out how to root my phone, and install the custom ROM
I recently rooted and flashed my nexus one for the first time! It was really easy and I flashed CM6.1 to it. Can anyone recommend any other roms there are and maybe some of the different things that each rom contains? I am very curious to know what each offers. Also any rooted apps that anyone would be able to recommend would be great. Thanks in advance.
Look around the forums and you will find a bunch of them.
1) Read the ROMs page in Wiki (look at my signature).
2) Look in Development forum.
ROM Bible is also a good thread:

Hey,you can flash kernel to have root via Odin for your PC. It is easy.
Then, I heard about Unlock Root app for PC which does rooting by two - three clicks via USB-debugging for 2.2-4.0.3 . (I didn't use it, I have pre rooted 4.0.4 )
Then you can just flash a rom with root,cwm,ext4-filesystem.
That is the way to taste Android 4.0.4 that is really awesome
Sorry, I can't paste links right now but I wish I helped you
A good start for you would be to flash the overcome ROM.
Here is a copy of the Installation Guide (with images)
Here is a link to the Overcome website
Simply follow the instructions and you'll be fine with a brilliant new rooted ROM.
If you want to go to ICS then I can recommend Cyanogenmod 9 - there are several ICS ROMs based on CM9 out there so I'll leave it to you to search them out; however my advice is start with Overcome to get a feel for the PC tools and CWM recovery.
Good luck

thanXx guys will report back bcuz i justt got to my laptop....i hope this works
I finally got my phone back! Rooted ics from xbsa. All seems to be working fine. I had to reset my laptop, I got a virus that was slowly eating away at my system32 folder, which is why I was having such a hard time flashing any from successfully. Anyway I got another thrill, so if anyone needs a guinee pig, I have a test phone and time on my hands. Thank you all for your help!
Which baseband did you put on your phone?
@pollutedmuse have u rooted on official ics? if yes kindly help me too

I flashed xbsav28broot.zip which is pre rooted and has twrp. Now she's on the v8 rom. I have been trying to root my other thrill which is running stock 30b and havn't been successful at all, for some reason the drivers are showing up. As for base band, that is a problem because both devices are omap4430/xmm6260, as such, they are on euro networks. I know from developer xbsall threads (check out his roms, very cool stuff) that I need a different baseband, and to change the network commands, but inspire of hours riffleing through sea threads I have yet to find instructions. I am sorry I couldn't be more help, I am brand new to this stuff. Good luck fellas. Drasric00 created a great thread "a moons guide to xbsa v8 ice 3d with acid audio" tremendously helpful, except for the baseband thing.
