Have you tried to download the app more than once? It can take up to 8-10 times for certain app to download..
Also, are you trying to install them on your external? If so, move your downloads to internal.
EDIT: Here comes the stupid question.. Do you have a gmail account?? and if so, is it setted up on your phone.
Yes I do have a gmail account and yes I'm installing to internal. im not that much of a newbie
RE: HELP!
also ive tried install apps from market and from external in all kinds roms. it never works

if it is my email is @gmail.com not google mail
No, and I can not say for certain this is your issue but every device had a id that can be changed from time to time when flashing roms.
You said you cleared market cache and data in manage applications?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App

I am not sure what you mean
If you are asking can you restore the app on 2.2, yes
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
no i mean can i back up my stock rom and data using clockworkmod backup, so that i can restore it later if this doesn't work
You can do a backup through clockwork, this will back everything up, buy you would still need to flash sick first then restore backup in order to get it back. You can not respite the 2.1 backup directly onto 2.2
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
thanks ill try that now
ugh these roms take so long to download!
Can not help you there
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
i cant get to clockworkmod i installed it with rom manager and gave rom manger root privs and i press reboot to recovery and it just goes to stock recovery. and when i press install update it says signature not verified!

Ok, so I have a rooted Nexus One with cyanogen 6.0rc3 on it. I recently tried to put cyanogen 6.1 on it so I could upgrade to 7.0. Then, I see the common glitch where there is no market so I revert back to my old rom which I made a backup for(using ROM Manager). So here comes the hard part, when it restores my ROM, have no apps, no nothing which I downloaded, and I tried to restore again, because ROM Manager reinstalled, but I didn't get anything. Can some tell me how to get my data and all my stuff back, please?!?!?!?! If I don't get help by the end of the month, my service gets cut off, so I really need help!!!! Please help guys, thanks in advance, you guys are the bomb!!!!

What's that supposed to mean? You lose service because you don't have the data on your phone restored?
Are you using apps2sd?
I feel like you have no chance of restoring anything at the moment though.
If you have a custom recovery, just wipe and start again, or restore your backup... Make sure you have a gapps package that is compatible with your ROM...

All your apps will be in the market under 'my apps' and as long as you have synched with Google servers all your data should be retrieveable by re-synching.

You don't need to go to cm6.1 to get to cm7. Even on 6.1 you need to do a full wipe anyway to eliminate any potential problems.
Also did you happen to use CWM 3.0?

I recently just flash a custom rom with my phone, and I think nothing is wrong, I'm able to download apps in the market by then, but I'm using 3G. This morning I installed a Wifi modem in my PC so I can use WIFI instead of 3g in my phone. But unfortunately I can't download anything from the market, even updates of existing apps. It just says 'app name' + Error cannot download bla bla bla. I just googled it and found out there are also others who encounter it but can't find any established solution.
Any ideas or tips would be really helpful. Thanks
EDIT: everythng is working in my connection, i can browse and even download to other sites, just the market
bump.. any ideas?
Clear the Cache of the market. Had the same problem after titanium backup restore. And install a new app after cache clean.

Yes I already clear the cache, you're right I think this happens after I restore using Titanium. What do you mean " install a new app after cache clean" because I still can't download any apps from market, still having the same error.
Last time i had to install a new app in the market but over 3g not wifi.

What kernel do you have and what version of rom do you have?
I will try to describe my problems with WiFi and Speedmod Kernel:
I have flashed xxjvt and after that i have tried to root the phone from CWM of Speedmod. I had 3 options to root and insatl busybox: simple, adv with some busybox comand remove and expert with most of busybox comands remove.
And the big surprize was because when i chose adv or expert 3G conection was perfectly fine but with WiFi no chance.
So maybe you have a problem with the implementation of busybox...maybe
Try an older market version if you can, the latest version is kinda buggy IMO...

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. If it's one app and not "apps" then it's probably not the rom.

Titanium Pro is the best for ROM flashing/backing up...tons of options for saving apps with/without data or system settings (bluetooth, wifi, calendar, etc). Best money I ever spent in the app store. Also tons of batch restore features.

Depending on how technically inclined you are and whether or not you understand everything I'm about to say, you can unyaffs your nandroid data.img and get your apk's. Then you can flash or push them or even install them from your SD card.
Google "unyaffs nandroid". It's not hard to do.

Puzzled???? Do you mean the apps you had moved to your sd??? As in you went.in to settings/applications/manage applications and moved the apps to the sd instead of running them from the phone?? Are you referring to those apps???

I have rooted my captivate with super one click then i clicked "allow non market apps" and it runs but it does not change anything on my phone and i can not install non market apps. My phone is on 2.1.
Damn dude, that version of Android is ancient. Just update it to kb2 (the last official 2.2) or kk4 the official 2.3 update. Both allow this option in settings without the need to even root. Not to mention the performance boost you'll get from a newer version of Android.
I know its old but its stock so I thought I would flash it to cm7. But I need to install a few non market apps. Any help?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
What? Why do you need a any apps BEFORE you flash to cm7? Those will be erased when you flash a rom. So You're just spinning your wheels
I want to get rom manager free. I can only get the paid version in market. I bought the paid version and wants me to install the free version.
Sent from my LGL55C using xda premium
no need for rom manager at all that app really isnt very useful on galaxy devices, when it installs cwm all it does is download the attached update.zip and flashes it. everything else such as backing up and such can be done from within recovery itself.
grab this zip put it on the root of the sdcard and boot into recovery, go to reinstall packages twice and that will boot you into cwm. wherein you can flash cm7
Just update....
Download kies: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I897ZKAATT
will update you to kk4 2.3.5
then flash a custom kernel with odin... Then you can install cm7 or 9 or anything else you want
So I guess I wasted $6 buying the app.

You probably only bought the paid version license key...which still requires the core program(free). A lot of apps are like that such as Titanium Backup.

After looking into trying a custom rom for my rooted thrill I decided to try out CyanogenMod 7.2.0 just to test the waters because it was my first time flashing a rom on my thrill. I had some issues but was finally able to flash CyanogenMod rom on my thrill. I liked it a lot and it seemed to be working fine but it was plugged into the charger cause it was late at night. The next morning I unplugged it and went to work... Normally my stock thrill will last me my whole shift which is 8 hours plus travel time. By the time I get off of work my phone still in the green. Anyway by around first brake I noticed the battery was half gone this was in only three in a half hours by 4 hours it was in the red pretty much dead... Any ideas or suggestions? Btw I am back to stock gb but still was to try a custom rom and I really liked CyanogenMod 7.2.0
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Try using the latest nightly. It seemed a lot better with battery drain. Also once you've flashed the nightly, charge to 100%, go to recovery and under advanced menu, wipe battery stats. Let the phone run till it dies and see if that helps.

I'm kinda afraid to retry and flash another rom on my phone...The first time I did it and tried to recover my stock rom I backed up it said it wasn't there or it did not exist. So I had to reinstall the original att gb rom and lost everything. Do I have to make a new backup of my rom every time I flash?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
No, but you will want to store it on your external SD card or transfer your stock backup to the PC to be safe. When you wipe before flashing you may wipe the area your backups are contained. Once you have them in a safe place you can flash without worry. If anything happens you can mount your SD card through recovery and transfer a backup then restore it. Get comfortable with making backups before flashing and what to do when a problem does occur. Panic can lead to bad mistakes.

Yeah that's exactly what I did and now I am flashing at a more comfortable level. And I did find my original backup and was able to flash my thrill back to where I had it. For some reason it won't show up in recovery mode, the only way I was able to flash it was through cwm. Now I'm running promethius Project Rom v1.5 with no idea kernel. I have flashed other kernels also. I want to flash another rom but hate setting everything up again lol like home screens, launchers, widgets, and reinstalling all my apps I have on my sd card.

Check out titanium backup and ROM toolbox Pro (its worth paying for). Those two apps will get your old apps restored and restore the data (titanium backup) and give you all the tools you may need to tweak your ROM and customise it. ROM toolbox has root browser, ROM manager, CPU control, scripter and tons of others in one app. With those two apps you can have everything back how it was (besides home screens, which some launchers do allow you to make a backup) and anything else you need to get it running how you like.
