is there any chance to change splash screen without fastboot?
You don't say what model phone you want this for, but this method works on HTC EVO -- and some others, I'm sure...

After searching for this, from what I've gathered, customizing the static boot splash image (splash1) is still not currently possible on the Nexus One.
Is any progress being made in this area or has it been left alone?
This is something I'm really interested in. On my Desire, I had set a nice splash image with all of my contact info on it, making it very difficult to sell the phone or pass it off as yours if it is lost or stolen.
Until someone manages to get either an S-OFF patched SPL on there or been able to somehow exploit the radio to get real S-OFF it's not possible to flash that partition.
Yeah devs have moved on really.
Ah, nertz :\

I have S-OFF and still can't flash a new splash. It's a non-starter.

is splash1 the "X" ?
Yes it is.
People wanted this way back when we were still concerned about whether or not htc would cover an unlocked bootloader N1, but we're all pretty much over it now.
It would be nice but I dont think anyone will work on it anymore
Found some instructions here (Desire) http://androidforums.com/desire-tips-tricks/220322-splash-screen-s-off-linux-osx-terminal-way.html
It does say s-off is required.
Yep, that method doesn't work on the N1 even with the unlocked bootloader.
I am a noob and tried to sim unlock my HTC one from Sprint and really messed things up, I erased the OS and no longer have TWRP access.
Let me start from the beginning, I have an HTC One (M7) by Sprint. I wanted to sim unlock it so I could use it with another carrier. I successfully unlocked the boot loader through htcdev. I then successfully rooted the device. Then I was stuck on trying to unlock the sim. I think I was unsuccessful because I had upgraded to Android 4.3, but not sure.
To make a long story short I kept messing with it and accidentally erased my OS while trying to use rumrunner. I had access to TWRP, which I had installed earlier, but as of today I no longer have access to TWRP, it just does not load anymore. I can still load into the boot loader usb section of my phone that’s about it.
I also relocked the boot loader because I read somewhere in another forum that I was supposed to do so.
So as of now my HTC one is Bootloader locked, S-ON, HBOOT 1.55.
ADB won’t recognize my HTC at all, I have another HTC (Different model) and ADB recognizes it so I know I have the drivers installed correctly, but it wont read the HTC One.
I tried using fastboot to flash a new ROM, and TWRP recovery but no luck, it stops at bootloader (Signature verify fail). So I can’t even push anything to the phone.
Can anyone please help? If you need anymore info please let me know.

You have to unlock the bootloader again, flash twrp recovery then sideload a rom.
+1 on the unlock
and get the recovery specifically for SPRINT, it's different than the GSM HTC One, you'll also have to flash a "close to stock" ROM to be able to use the SIM unlock code. no need to be locked!
and remember to get a close-to-stock ROM for SPRINT!!!
At first, sorry for my bad english.
My Question is, if my Display is broken, can i screenshot the bootloader or recovery with commands?
I had the One X and let it fall and my Display worked only sometimes, but i could see what i was doing so i flashed stock recovery and rom and relocked the bootloader so htc repaired it. If this happens again with my htc one, and the display doesnt work, how to know, if i am on the booloader menu, or fastboot and see if it all work? i want to unlock and s-off my device.
Second Question: If my device is s-off, should i go back to s-on or htc doesnt care about it?
1. Fastboot getvar all
2. They don't care

the other guy said everything correctly but I want to add that for me they repaired it with s off and they didn't charge me.. but sometimes if you are unlucky they will say that you have to pay... don't listen to them and phone HTC directly etc...
Ok thanks to both of you
Hey!
I want to return my HTC One Mini 2 to original as much possible. Currently, I've managed to backup to a stock ROM, but I still have the TWRP recovery and an unlocked bootloader. What I'm looking for is someone who can tell me or a link to where I can find a stock recovery.img (I've been looking through the forums, no links are working anymore), and eventually how this process is done. The other thing is locking the bootloader, as I've gathered, this is a rather simple process(?).
Lastly, probably a long shot though, is it possible to remove the *TAMPERED* mark?
