I have tried everything I can think of but I can not for the life of me get my wifi to connect to a router on rc1 or any nightly. Is anyone else having this issue? My wifi tether works 100% which boggles me. I've tried a bunch of the nightlies and rc1, all with the same results.
Have you tried flashing a different kernel might work might not worth a try in my opinion
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
I have tried actually, I'm starting to believe that every router I've tried connecting to is possibly farting out. No one seems to be having this same problem.
I would try flashing back to a sense rom and c if wifi works them
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
Also in wifi settings on cm6 rc1 hit menu go to advanced settings and select 14 channels I think it 11 by default might work might not worth a try
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
WiFi issue...
I have been having the same issue with WiFi. It will connect to "open" networks but when trying to select a locked one it gives a message and closes...
com.android.settings
This has been mentioned in another thread but I found no solution other than someone saying to download the correct version of the theme (i.e. rc1 instead of nightly).
I am on CM6 RC1 and have the Steel my elegance theme
uncapped adnan 2.6.29.6
Thanks for your help...

I am an eris user but my wife has the MotoDroid and she got the FRG22D update and wanted me to root her phone so she can use the wifi tether app. I thought it would be as simple as rooting and downloading the app but it seems not to be working right, do i need to install a rom or flash a kernal on her phone for wifi tether to work properly? Id prefer not to install a rom cause she just wants to keep it as stock as possible.

HCDR.Jacob Flash over any ROM Awesome Kernel 4.1 - Thanks to HCDR.Jacob and ralle.gade (+any other contributers for this)
Personally I find that, as is, the ROM is responsive enough for me, solid and reliable, I have found that with setCPU running (with standard Kernel) that I get some momentairy freezes and momentairy freezes accepting calls, just so that your aware of this... with HCDR.Jaccob 4.1 Kernel I couldn't say if the same problem exists as not tested...
This ROM, as is, has no know problems (without SetCPU running)

Re-downloading now. Will report back in a little while.
I dunno why anyone would want to keep the 3 stuff, but each to their own.

I didn't want all the three stuff, just wanted to be able to log in to My3 which is something you cannot do without having Planet 3 installed.
I have been running this rom since yesterday and not found any problems with it so far.

What about going to www.three.co.uk with wifi turned off and then clicking My 3 Account near the top right?

There is that I suppose but it's easier if there is a direct click that you don't have to log in to each time.

Set it as a bookmark. There shouldn't be a log in if you are accessing over 3's network.
Is wireless tether not working in this ROM? Can anyone confirm? Ive tried it on 2 wildfires and multiple computers.
It seems to work, but it doesn't alert me to the connection and the computer has no internet despite the wireless connection being there.
Thanks!

The tether issue is a kernel issue.
My kernel seems to only enable tethering in froyo as well, not eclair for some reason.
If I get time I can compile you a kernel which is completely stock but with wireless tether enabled

Thanks Jacob...
That would be great jacob, thanks!
What i would really like to see with this ROM is something very similar to the WildPuzzle Eclair 1.0.1 (this rom was missing the reboot option on the powerscreen and then reboot into recovery option) but with the 3 boot screen and maybe some of the apps and obviously android wifi tether working on one of them.
Jacob says its his kernel causing the tether issue, but im sure ive ran his kernels before on my eclair wildfire and had wifi tether working, also with the standard kernel ive not had it working recently. Wildpuzzle eclair 1.0 was the last distro i had it working on if that helps isolating the problem?
Just out of interest did front button wake work in this rom, i forgot to try it when i tried the rom.
Thanks
Wifi Tether works for me on this rom. My pc picked it up straight away and got internet page up straight from the off. I don't mess with kernels and setting cpu etc so it's not that I've done anything to make it work.
Strange, it doesn't work for me with this ROM or Wildpuzzle Eclair 1.0.1? If its not the ROM what could it be? Any ideas anyone?

Sure adding reboot menu is fairly straightforward thanks to the guys here at XDA... so I will add as soon as I get chance....
Prehaphs a logcat might reveal the prob?
Ok.. so i thought this was weird.
i was having wifi problem. not being able to get connected or even see the networks on my phone.
CM6.1 and superhybrid 2.11 does not have problem its just when you flash a theme or kernel it start causing problem (FOR ME IN MY CASE, i dont know about you), and wifi eventually stops working.
currently i am running lastest radio korean version.
Whenever i flash a wild monk or other kernels on CM6.1 wifi stops working
When i flashed the stock theme that was provided on the op from superhybrid 2.1.1 the wifi stopped working.
i just thought it was weird and wanted to know if any of you guys are experiencing same problem as me.
Let me know Thanks!
I've tried a few WildMonks on CM 6.1 nightlies, and don't have any wifi problems...

which version are u using.
CM 250 nightly, and I think the WildMonks is:
2.6.35.8_AVS-925mV-CM_CFS_20101116_2329.zip
Its listed as #154 in the About Phone info (don't know why they never make the file name the same as the version info)
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I always flashed wildmonk's kernel right after i flashed CM6.1 nightlies, and my wifi is always wonky (i get a lot of errors enabling wifi and wifi tethering).
Next time I do a full wipe, i wont apply the kernel and see if that happens
I had the OG Droid before and now I;m helping out a friend. I remember that in order to get WiFi tethering to work on it you needed a Kernel that would allow it. Can any one point me in the right direction for a Froyo ROM and a compatible Kernel that can do WiFi tethering?

I've never been too happy with CM in general...but i can always give it a try.
BTW would i need to change the Kernel with the CM7 rom to use WiFi tether or does the zip file containe a compatible kernel that gets flashed at the same time?

It contains the right kernel. The only bad part about tethering on the D1 is that it creates adhoc networks and some tablet devices cannot see them. There are no workarounds on D1's side.
I have my droid tether w/o problem. Even had my computer VPN over the connection, which was pretty neat!
I can't get my PS3 or my laptop to successfully connect on my D1 tethering. The adhoc network is just annoying.
