Hi there, this is kind of urgent.
I was on Darky's Rom 9.5 with Ficeto's Darkcore Kernel 1.4: now; wanted to switch to stock GB running JVB.
Downloaded Odin. Downloaded the XEE file, extracted all the files and mounted them on Odin in the respective fields (Pit (yes, I clicked repartition) / PDA / Phone / CSC).
Disabled lag fixes, wiped data and all, went into download mode, connected to the pc, odin said "added" and I clicked start.
This is the log:

However, Odin never started uploading! The bar never started anything..and my SGS is still at download mode.
What should I do?! Is it safe to disconnect the phone? Have I bricked my phone? Hope not!
Please refer to the attached screenshot.
Me again.
I closed odin by mistake, then disconnected my sgs.
Turned it off, and when I tried to switch it on again it gives me that image of a phone connecting to pc and exclamation mark.
I know this is probably a soft brick, what should i do??
the same thing happened to me, as long as download mode is still working then u should be fine. I had to install the stock jvk gingerbread rom first with bootloaders version using odin and then from there just flashed the cwm version of jvb gingerbread.
thank you very much. yes i can go to download mode.
do you have a good comprehensive guide on flashing jvk bootloaders?
i found some but i can't showed them to you because it won't let me post links...
just download xxjvk firmware that has bootloaders from Ramad's post
http://www.multiupload.com/1DFDXTO27I
special thanks for Ramad
Thanks both of you! It worked running JVK, I will not flash JVB! Thanks for all your help

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post, I'm new so go easy on me!
so today i tried to go downgrade my phone to eclair 2.1. I was currently using a custom rom (miui) with CM7
i went on odin i used a pit 512 file "s1_odin_20100512.pit"
WHILE i was flashing my galaxy s, my computer shut down! when i tried to turn on the phone it didnt want to start.
I STILL have access to the download mode when i try several times the vol down, home, and power button combo
So i would like to know if i have an hope to make work my phone again and recover from this issue.
1st-why the hell would you like to downgrade your phone to eclair?
2nd-use a full rom with repartition -for example js8 full or jpu- with odin and 512 pit. make sure that your computer doesn't shut down again
note: while your computer shuts down while you were flashing boot.bin, sbl.bin or param.lfs your phone will be worth paper weight. so be careful.
Thanks for the quick reply! Do you maybe have a link where i could download that jpu rom?
go to samfirmware.com
you will need to sign up, but it's free, so it will take you 2 minutes to complete
So i downloaded a I9000XX JPU firmware, I used a pit 512 file but i think that i got an other probleme. here's the Odin log

Im stuck at Setup Connection, 10 minutes laters nothing happened yet.
setup connection, means its having trouble connecting to your phone, make sure KIES is not running, try another USB port, one that goes direct into the motherboard of the pc. and try again
you should be ok
Also run Odin as Administrator if you're on Vista or Seven.
Thanks a lot for your help! yes you were right i had to restart odin to make it work
Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, mods pls move it to the right forum.
I have a non-rooted, non-operator free Samsung Galaxy Note with Gingerbread and I want to root it, set it operator free and flash ICS.
I tried to flash a ROM via Odin (N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT), followed the steps (open Odin, select the md5 file @ PDA, startup the phone on download mode, connect the phone to pc, now Odin recognizes it and shows the yellow case, then I press start) but at a certain point it just stops working and I dunno what to do, its frustrating...
Here's the Odin's Console log:

Usually ODIN takes a lil long to flash a rom.So give it a good 10mins time and see it comoletes the installation....
Or you may use the new ODIN by grgsiocl. It shows the remaining time left to finish flashing. Its there in themes and apps section.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
sometimes 30 or more minutes.
Usually it stops there either thought corrupt download of rom, redownload it try again.
Or because you have bricked it "op op" emmc "style" way.
If you did not root phone, or put different kernels on, then dont do anything and contact entropy, he is looking for a case where without this the phone was superbricked.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
You may not have all the drivers from Samsung? Download Kies, run it. Then turn off Kies, antivirus and firewall. Commissioning Odin as administrator.
Wait for atleast 20 mins approx to get the stage completed or throw out to samsung service center to get it done.
Swyped From My Juicy Flavoured AOKP JB.
EDIT: Rebooted my computer and phone and it flashed fine. Thank you for all the help. I'm off to explore the world of custom roms.
Finally decided to root my phone and install CM9 from GB 2.3.6 with the LA4 Kernel. Downloaded everything I needed as per Post 3 of this thread. Accidentally flashed the newer kernel instead of the pre rooted ROM.
Realizing my mistake, I tried flashing the correct ROM and PC Odin gives me a failure. The phone won't boot, it just stays stuck on the Galaxy Note N7000 Logo with an exclamation mark at the bottom.
Check if you have cwm (power+home +volume up) If so then flash this get the standard version, then go advanced options and reboot recovery...
After that do all wipes data/cache/Dalvik cache then flash the cm9 for n7000,then flash cm9 GApps then reboot...
After the system boots to android set it up and download triangle away and use it to get rid of the yellow triangle
If you don't have cwm then download a stock GB rom and flash it via odin... Start from scratch
Cheers
Tapatalking on my GT-N7000
what is the error pc odin giving you?
Don't quite remember anymore since it was from this morning. All I recall is the little box on the top left going red.
Could I try replicating the problem or do I risk damaging my phone?
odin won't damage the phone. As above poster said check if you have cwm, else use Odin again

No, I don't have CWM so I've been downloading a stock rom since I saw that post should take an hour with glorious third world internet. In the meantime should I fish out that error message you requested or is it not worth it at this point?
If you need all data back and everything to be working I would recommend you to flash back the same ROM you had earlier using odin.
Go back to Square 1.
Then root it from Dr Ketan's post.
as you downloading the rom. you are going to use Odin again. Let know the error
Yeap, another fail while using PCOdin.
Going to install samsung USB drivers from the file in this thread and get rid of Kies.
Here's the stuff from the little window.

Hi all,
Before I return this device back to Samsung i wanted to check here if anyone had similar Problems or can possibly help with this.
I've never had the Luxury of personally using this Device, the Original Owner bought it and during the OTA it appears something went wrong. Rather than returning it to Samsung directly (they have a notoriously bad reputation of turn around time here) she asked me to have a look at it
Originally it was stuck in a Bootloop of The Intro of the boy looking through the telescope and appearing with the Samsung logo in a recurring Bootloop. Kies (the terrible software it is) is stuck at the connecting screen and doesn't move further than that.
To the jist;
I cant enter Recovery Mode, it takes me directly to the "downloading" screen. I can however boot manually into the Downloading mode. I've tried reflashing the stock recovery with Odin but still won't allow me to get into it, it boots to download mode before I even get a chance to do anything else.
I've tried multiple full firmware's from samsung-updates/sammobile and all drop me back to the same screen (with Odin)
Naturally, I will turn this in to Samsung and wait the time that it takes to have it repaired/replaced for her. I just wanted to know if anyone had any great ideas i could go through before going ahead with this
Thanks in advance

Hi Robb,
Thank you for the reply,
Odin is fine, it flashes without any issues but upon restarting without booting into any special mode, it comes up immediately with "downloading... do not turn of target!!"
When I flash with what i presume would be the correct firmware i get an error (it's bought in Dubai so i figured it was the XSG firmware)

This might help (again, this is why my thread should be a sticky) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086636
Flash the firmware that fails on modem.
Let it fail. Turn off and boot into download mode again.
Then root the camera via odin with the root method Adam gave us.
That flash should go all the way 100%
After this, the camera should work again.
Try it, let us know if it helped.

I even did a further step of removing modem.bin from the failed tar and repackaging it and reflashing, still returns back to downloading mode.
I do however now have Custom Binary Download: Yes
Downloading Adam's suggested JellyBean 4.1.1 build:GC100XXALK1 and will see if that works for me.

I wish i could enter recovery but it no longer works, it takes me straight into downloading mode (even when using the Recovery mode combo when turning the camera on). This download mode is slightly different from the Download Mode launched with the combination, it only shows the Android Avatar + Downloading.... do not turn off target !!. (No odin, no flash counters, etc)

What about trying to reflash just the recovery alone, stock that is and see if it kicks it into booting into it, to try a wipe perhaps, I've got the stock recovery if you want to give it a try?

I tried the stock recovery recovery-stock-bll7-EKGC100 without any luck. Now after recent reflashing the camera boots to a white screen rather than downloading mode.I can still boot to download mode with the combination, the flashing counter has been reset but now also i can't flash ANYTHING onto it, got some new nifty error

The Counter Reset itself, i'm guessing once the partitions disappeared it took the count with it too ;-P

Always remember to kill kies via task manager (on PC) before using odin. Also remember to pause exit the antivirus software just to be sure.
