[Q] Video quality /recording... - LG Optimus 2x

Could someone here investigate on the possibility to swap this dreadful 3GP format on our P990'S for something more "regular" ? And by the way find a way to increase the Bitrate of the 1080p recordings so as to make them more detailed, without sacrificing the fluidity ???

Frame rate option in camera?

I've tried recording videos with both "normal" and "high" frame rate options, it doesn't seem to do anything, any ideas why it's there?
The info button says it's the rate at which videos are captured, so would that indicate if it works you'd get slow motion video?
i've been wonderin about that option myself....and changin it really doesnt seem to do anything at all...
There is a pretty clear difference.
However, the X1i is the only phone that has the difference.
It's not completely noticable on the Xperia, but if you play the video on the computer,
there will be a noticable difference in the framerate. Give it a shot!
just open files on advanced player and press PROPERTIES
Frame Rate: > 10fps or 24 fps
the problem is that the framerate goes down when the brightness is low..then the camera gets laggy in recording mode...so there has to be a setting that we can change the minimum frame rate
please developers HELP

Try BsB tweaks 1.6 it has an option to increase video bitrate. If this post helped press thanks.
ok,does it works on windows 6.1? and is it good to change to mpeg4 recording? what settings you used? would you please upload a video to see the difference?

I have no idea if it works on 6.1 because I don't use 6.1. The settings I used are the ones that improved camera and video quality to me they seemed like they worked I hardly use my camera and video anyway , I don't think the OP would put it improves camera and video quality if didn't. I'm not a bout to upload videos that's way to much of my time and effort when this is not my problem. Go ahead and install the cab and find out for yourself .
does i have to be carefull with this tweak,which settings i should change there?
my x1 quality is not that good...yours?

To start off if you are installing tweaks you always want to install them in the main phone memory unless the app says otherwise. I looked into what you were saying and made an interesting discovery the tweaks are not meant for the X1's camera. In the rom I'm using now I went to my multimedia folder and found separate camera and video software( most likely HD2 or rhodiums or HTC camera and video). I went into the software and found all the options the tweaks are supposed to unlock. The hidden video formats are H.263 and 4, 3GPP2, MPEG 4, and Motion JPEG. To my suprise the highest resolution is CIF(352x288). I tried all the video formats and all are very laggy the X1's video camera is way better. I only use BsB tweaks for the Power saving, Policies, SMS Wake Up, Gyph Cache and TCIP/IP Cache. The videos you posted look actually pretty good and the one where you were riding on the bike and past the man be pushed in a wagon made me laugh so hard
hehe these videos are just samples for good quality xperia x1 videos,i found on youtube. i dont made them. my quality is not that good i think. i installed the bsb tweak now on the main memory but really no changes (
highest resolution is CIF(352x288) i would like to see a video in that quality on xperia x1...is there any other good solution? at the moment i use vga,wide screen and endless focus
thx for help

Ya I seen a couple of your posts in different threads saying they are sample videos lol. Believe me when I say this it is very bad with CIF and it is not in fullscreen view mode, very laggy/ blurry when you move it's not even worth uploading a video to show it's that bad. Try macro focus instead of endless see if that improves anything. Also maybe overclocking your phone with more speed might give a better framerate also idk.
ok,i installed wimospeed..how much does i can push up the mhz that it doesnt influence the battery life

Your battery life is going to be the same regardless of the increase of mhz. Every Xperia is different so the results of how high you can push it is going to be different. Try 652 to start.
it doesnt influence the battery life?
Thats a pretty good tool...652,8mhz and its mainly faster but the frame rate in video recording seems to be the same or?
if you have some more usefull tools,let me know.
p.s. my homescreen etc.

is there a chance to change the framerate???
when the light is bad,the framerate goes down :0(,maybe the developers have a solution
the same here
I have the same issue, it is a shame... nice phone, though

Video Conversion [HELP please]

Hi, I've search many place and unable to find any good guides for video conversion for the Acer liquid(Donut). And the User Manual don't even give full specs.
I've done many conversion of my own, however the video always lag...
~~ Please tell what is the max bitrate, best codec(mp4, h.263, etc), resolution, fps to make a video play hi quality NO frame skip/lag on the Acer Liquid(Donut)~~
Note: I understand the max quality is only as same as the video/clip you've inputed, and that the Acer only support up to 20 frame per section(at least that's what written in the user manual), and I have a good video converter btw, been using it for years...
Shalala
Alrite after playing with the video for a few more day.
I STILL don't get exactly what I wanted...and I notice alots of people viewing this thread, so I'll share what I have at the moment.
~~~Good Enough~~~
Right this moment, my best conversion is...
Video Quality Superb
File Format *.MP4
Video Codec mpeg4
Resolution original as input/ since no TV-out, it is suggest 640x480 up to 720x480.
Framrate Always try to maintain the same or near framerate as the original video clips. To see how many fram per second the original clip is...right click on the video clip and choose properties > Details > Frame Rate.
Aspect Ratio either Auto or 16:9.
Audio Quality 128 kbps
Audio Codec mpeg4aac
Channels 2 Channels Stereo
Sample Rate Varies/44100 Hz
NOTE: I can't be sure if its just my phone in particular, I've only gotten it for a week. I don't wanna think that it is my phone that don't play video perfectly. However, the setting above allow me to play full screen with no frame skips, hi quality, almost everything is perfect with 1 exception.
The frame don't skip but it seem to lagg a "LITTLE BIT"... an example, you won't see black strips or shifting from 1 scene to another, but rather.....crap i can't explain it lolz
Camcorder - Any way to change audio encoder/bitrate?
n00b here. Recording a video with the audio at only 8000 Hz sounds like your camera is in a toilet. Are there any 3rd party camera apps that can do 16000 Hz, or maybe a hack for the default app?
I can successfully change bitrate and resolution for video encoding in build.prop, but changing any values for the audio just causes the camera app to force close. Failing at that, I looked up the AMRNB codec and found that it doesn't support 16000 Hz at all anyway. My next misguided idea was to change the default codec stuff from this
Code:
ro.media.enc.hprof.codec.aud=amrnb
...
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.bps=12200
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.hz=8000
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.ch=1
to AAC, like it is in the Droid/Milestone
Code:
ro.media.enc.hprof.codec.aud=aac
...
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.bps=96000
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.hz=16000
ro.media.enc.hprof.aud.ch=1
I realize they are different phones, but I figured it was worth a shot. Failed again, naturally.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Why did HTC give us DVD resolution video with only telephone quality audio? That's like having an HDTV with only a piezo buzzer for a sound system. I do not understand this decision at all.
+1
I have noticed this as well, but I assumed it was a hardware restriction.
If there can be any light shed on this let us know!
Really good idea. I was thinking of adjusting the frame rate so that it always remained at a constant 24 fps, rather than going down to 9 fps in indoor conditions. Any suggestions?
YES!
I agree 100%. Maybe the idea was to create a suitable MMS birate/container solution w/ no regard to ANYONE else... there has to be a way. in fact I'm excited that you were able to at least play w/ the video and adjust bitrate & res. Care to share how to a layman?
AMR sounds like garbage. In addition to the incredibly low samling frequency, the bitrate is ~ 12.5Kbps. I would say that's a cut below telephone SQ.
Can any people in here far smarter than me, tell us if one can hackney a difference audio codec (say mp3?) as AMR seems too limited to work with. Or maybe a 3rd party app... why are there NONE?
this seems to make it seem possible:
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/CamcorderProfile.html
I would really love this on my Desire. Currently both video and audio are crap, audio especially. Here's a little demonstration I made, where I went to see which encoding type is better, mpeg4 or H.264:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgW28VE0eOo
justin.tv app mitigates this for now, as the video uploaded to justin.tv in near realtime is markedly better than the abysmal quality of the native android app, which just goes to show how dysfunctional it really is.
for now, I'll use justin.tv whenever recording videos... it goes to show that many android phones (inc. my hero) are capable of so much more in the hardware, and the limiting factor is crappy software devs and/or requirements.
[Q] How to increase foto+camera bitrate?
Is possible to increase bitrate or does exist any app for better fotos and camera? Thanks
..........?
bitrate for belongs to video recording
I mean improve captured fotos...! For example in HTC you can change values in registry.....!
Is it possible?
Any news? All I want is to improve captured fotos, video is great, but fotos could be more better!
? Please any improvements for better photos?
[Q] MediaCoder preset for encoding videos
Hi all
I want to know if someone has a working preset for encoding videos in mediacoder for galaxy s? I have looked over the threads on mediacoders forums but there seems to be only one working preset and that one is just copied settings from a 720p recording from the camera (which is not designed for viewing on the SGS because the resolution doesn't match the sgs's screen for starters). I need something that gives the best picture and sound for the least amount of space.
