[ROM] CyanogenMod 6.1 V1 - CWM - 23-04 - XPERIA X1 Android Development

Hi every one! I give you another good build. It repark from CM Modded Build V.2 by needo, and work with ClockworkMod, so here is the build:
I. Download needed file:
1. CyanogenMod 6.1 V1 - CWM - 23-04.zip
http://www.multiupload.com/QQF81OD7IE
2. npkboot-cwm-v15-x1-monsterKernel.rar
http://www.multiupload.com/R4A7PJE00T
II. before install :
1. Format your sdcard make 4 Partition with recommended size:
1st partition: FAT32 (sdcard / Rest)
2nd partition: EXT2 (system / about 150MB -> depends on the build )
3rd partition: EXT2 (data / about 250MB)
4th partition: EXT2 (cache / about 50MB)
Be sure make all 4 partition primary
2. extract and copy folder npkboot to root of sdcard.
3. Copy Rom ( zip file , don't extract) in to root of sdcard.
III. Install:
1. run Haret, and wait when it will be asked to press "Volume Down" shortly (!!important!! shortly) to launch ClockworkMod Recovery or any other key to usually continue booting into Android.
Press volume Down and wait for menu Recovery.
2. In menu recovery choose "install zip from sd-card" choose zip from sdcard and select "CyanogenMod 6.1 V1 - CWM - 23-04.zip" . Confirm instalation then reboot system.
4. Run HARET again and press any key (except Volume keys) to continue booting into Android.
Tips:
First boot :
*Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > tweaks extra > load theme > choose CM 6.1 white
- This will change the status bar text colour to white ...
*Launcher settings > change theme > choose the gre theme ...
*disable data transfer
*disable auto-rotate screen
- Android won't performing very well at first running hours, if you have many media files (pic,videos..) .. system will be busy searching for these files & creating thumbnails for them ... the time for that is depending on the quantity of the media on the SD card ..
UPDATE:
- If you can't boot to android, try change modules to Turbo kernel and reinstall.
- If you want stop problem key freeze, download kernel with keyboard as modules and follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11808067&postcount=2 how to do ^^!
- For better batterry, download and install SetCPU, then custom it yourself !
- For better speed install ADW Laucher ^^!
Thanks to Neopeek, needo and other developers !

I have done:
- Everything copied to SD following the how to.
- [2011-04-18] FRX06 [CWM] worked, but this rom doesn't work
- Formated ext2 partitions to erease the old rom.
- Using Duckly's Kernel [Turbo Kernel] WITH KEYPAD DRIVERS AS MODULES
Problem:
I can run haret but when I have to click vol down it doesn't launch the recovery mode. it wants to continue.
With the FRX06 it worked but now it doesn't work
BTW: the hyperlink after "Update:" isn't working
Hope you can help me
EDIT: Changing Kernel to Duckly's Kernel [Turbo Kernel] [25-3-2011] WITH KEYPAD DRIVERS NOT AS MODULES has solved my problem.
Is there a way to use the Kernel with keypad drivers as modules?

I see, your problem is monster kernel not work with your phone, and when you change it to Turbo kernel it work ^^!
FOr use kernel with kaypad as modules, please read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11808067&postcount=2
First: boot to android, then install autostart.apk and GScript.apk.
next: open terminal , remove modules and copy autostart.sh like that thread write. then open GScript and add script like that thread write.
next: reboot to winmobile, copy Turbo Kernel with keypad as modules to your sdcard/npkboot folder, replace the old file in there.
Final: boot to android, then make a shotcut GScript in home screen, when keypad die, just open the shotcut and it will work again.
Hope it have you

I have never used Monster Kernel because I think it needs more battery than the Turbo kernel so I changed it to the Turbo Kernel.
After adding "ts-calibration"-file to the npkboot folder, it is starting now
*Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > tweaks extra > load theme > choose CM 6.1 white
- This will change the status bar text colour to white ...
Click to collapse
There is no "CM 6.1 white" (CMTheme folder is empty) but the "STOCK_Black" makes the clock visible (status bar still black). Finaly I copied the "CM 6.1 white"-file from the EXT2 version.

Please Note that Android for X1 is Still in Delvelopment state..
So there Might be some non working camera, Bluetooth, GPS, Apps, etc...
But Hei..... we Run Android On Our Winmo Device
So.. Use it at Your Own Risk
OK Let's Begin
Currently, We Run Android From SD Card by Run Haret.exe
Just wait and see untill Developers Create a Pefect Android Build for Us
Then Maybe we will able to Flash it to our Phone to replace Winmo
Basicly There is two type of Android Build For X1
at least for Now. Next?? Who Know
1. Fat32 Build
This is old method to Run android on our device
+ No need to create partition on SD Card.
+ No need to install andoid, just copy files to SD Card then Run Haret.exe
- It's slower Android build
Main Files on Fat32 Build may Looks like this
Some of Fat32 Build:
- [F1 Froyo 2.2.2 V3][FAT32]
- Xperia-Xdandroid-X1 2.2.1 25.11,Fatsal-xperoid 2.0.1 25.11,Hero Sense UI 2.1 25.11
Fat32 Build Installation:
1. Download Android & Unzip
2. Copy All Files to Root of SD Card
3. Run Haret.exe
Simple right
2. EXT2 Build (introduced by Neopeek)
it's usually faster than Fat32 Build
- Need to Create EXT2 Partition
- Need to install Android before run Haret.exe
+ Android run Stable, Faster & Smoother!!!!. <<== This is what we Need
Main Files on EXT2 Build may Looks like this
Some of EXT2 Build:
- CM Modded V.2 [26.1 FPS] - HoneyComb Froyo V.2 - PureFroyo - SupeFroyo Modded by Needo
- (◣_◢)CyanogenMod 6.1(◣_◢)v1.5
- F1 Froyo 2.2.2 V3 by Faryaab
EXT2 Build Installation:
1. Create EXT2 Partition on SD Card (Explained Later)
2. Download Android & Unzip
3. Copy All Files to Root of SD Card
4. Install Android by Run install.exe from npkinstall Folder
You will see alot of text running there..
Just wait until it's Done
Then your phone will reboot to Winmo5. Run Haret.exe from Root of SD Card to Run Android
3. ClockWorkMod [CWM] Build (introduced by Neopeek)
Refer Here for CWM Update
Currently, This is Best method to Run android on our device
- Need to Create 4 Partition on SDCard [Fat32 & 3 ext2 Partition]
+ Easy to install & Change to another Android
+ Android run Stable, Faster & Smoother!!!! than any Fat32 or EXT2 Method
+ Easy doing a wipe, cleaning cache, (re)formatting sd-card
+ Easy adding/update files on ROM even after installing android & More
+ Superuser & adsblocker working perectly
+ Enable to mount system as writable
Profits for Developers
+ No need to play around with rootfs any more.
+ Android system structure is now 99% native android compatible. Meaning that rom devs simply work with the /system folder.
+ ROM installation / update is done via ZIP files as on native android devices. No tgz, tar.gz or ext2 files any more!
Main Files on ClockWorkMod [CWM] Build may Looks like this
Some of CWM Build:
- [X1][CWM] TouchWiz CM6.1[21.04.2011]
- [ROM] x1 - HoneyComb V2 - ClockworkMod - 20/04
- [ROM] Xperia1 FRX06 V.2-CWM (07.05.2011)
ClockWorkMod [CWM] Build Installation:
Preparation:
1. Create Fat32 & 3 EXT2 Partition on SD Card (Explained Later)
2. Download Neopeek's CWM
3. Copy npkboot folder on Root SD
4. Get kernel, ts-calibration & startup.txt for X1 then copy to npkboot folder
5. Download Android CWM compartible & copy Zip ROM on Root SD
Launch CWM & Android Installation
1. Run HARET, wait until it ask to press "Volume Down"
2. Press "Volume Down" shortly to Launch CWM
3. Go to "install zip from sd card" to install Android
- Use D-Pad or volume Button to navigate
- Press D-pad Button Down to Confirm4. Choose your android rom (zip file) that you want to install then click "yes"
5. When installation finish, go to CWM main menu & Choose Reboot
To Run Android just run Haret.exe from npkboot folder and wait as usual

3. Reboot.. Then Android will Run Faster.
Kernel
If you have problem with Wifi, Battery, etc on Android Build, First try to change kernel..
What are kernels?
You can compare the kernels to the drivers from your computer. They can ensure that your WIFI work or that the camera from phone doesn’t work.
jwte said:
A kernel isn't just drivers, it's the OS but without any apps or anything else that you need. And modulesxxxxxxx.tar.gz are usually drivers that you can hook up to the kernel and it better to have buggy drivers in a module so you can restart for example the keyboard driver without need to restart the OS (kernel) and Android.

What files are the kernels?
The kernels are named by “modulesxxxxxx.tar.gz” and “zImage”
Credit goes to: Great_Day
How to Change Kernel?
1. Delete Your Current “modulesxxxxxx.tar.gz” and “zImage” from Root of SD Card
2. Replace with the New One then Run Haret.exe

dynamics rom is Overclocked by default and haret can't boot your phone in linux while phone is O/C in WinMo ..
So ..
1- You can run android using Applications\Android & OC will be disabled automatically ..
(you can use it if the haret.exe is present in root SD)
2- Or you can use the .cap ultrashot provided to disable overclocking permanently ...
3- Or just click this ..
( \Application Data\OC_disable.lnk ) & it will be disabled temporally (till the next restart) ..
4- Or you can simply use WinmoSpeed to control CPU speed (set it to defualt) ...

if this problem is still present .. make sure that android O/C isn't more than 614 mhz .. some processors can't boot in linux with higher values !
Open startup.txt & if you found O/C command like that
( acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=652000 )
just change the value to 614000 ...

Nice, that u added the CWM.
So i just got one Question, whats about bigger SD Card?
How would u suggest to split the SD if i got f.e. 8 gb or even 16 or more?
if i had the space is there any reason why i could give the Cache much more storage?
As far as i cann see, the Rom always just use as much as it need never more?
So but whats about the Data?
Isnt it where me ROMS going to be stored? So it would be smart to make this bigger when i want to use a lot of Roms?
And the FAT is just for thinks i want on Wimo ( if i want to xD) and such kind of datas like music and so on?
So i would be realy happy if u could explaint thoose thinks,
but by the way this guide is very nice, AND easy to use, so

[ROM] NeoFroyo V0.1 for Xperia X1 [17-08-2011]

Initial Release V0.1:
This ROM is english only and has several tweaks inbuilt. Try it out yourself and you will be amazed of the overall speed. Maybe I will support more languages later (have to talk to Infinimint about this -> maybe he has enough CPU power and time + nerves to compile it in each language). Till then if you are searching for another language then move elsewhere to find your ROM...

* Attached Kernel is highly overclocked , it may not work with all kovsky devices , so if it doesn't work with you, try to change the overclocking value from 652 to 614 mhz in startup.txt ..
- If it is still not working , replace this kernel with "Turbo kernel" attached to package ..

sure. you say all credits go to the devs in the very last paragraph.
but until there you make it look like you compiled this rom yourself by using simple c/p of neopeeks original post...
1- Format SDcard To 4 Partitions :
- 1- partition: EXT2 (System / about 250 MB )

this is wrong, fat32 needs to be first partition, otherwise windows won't recognize it anymore.
i don't know which gapps you put into this package, but it's certainly not the one neopeek tells you in cwm-thread. the meta-inf isn't replaced.

to bad wifi isnt working
It is, just get the right kernel, ygge or latest glemsom (19.08.)
but glemsom ain't so good for me:
- wifi working***
- system a bit snappier (or just wishful thinking?)
- permanent hiss from loudspeaker
- battery always full
- had to change cpu-freq to 652, phone kept freezing with 672
- sys-process-gapps fc's now and then
*** i didn't reinstall the rom, just changed kernel & wiped dalvik cache. So i don't know if something extra is left from ygge-kernel.
edit:
took longer, but it froze again. 633 mhz now.

Hi there!
It works fantastically, but I don't know if this build is supposed to have fixed this issue, I'm still having the hardware keyboard death problem. So I tried to implement ygge's keyboard-as-modules kernel, and when deleting the current modules, I have an error saying that they can't be removed because this is a Read-only file system. (like this: "cannot remove 'nameofthemodule.ko': Read-only file system")
It is not the first time I try to use this kernel, and the previous times, I could delete them without any trouble (through terminal emulator). I have tried with terminal emulator as a root, with other file explorers as a root and seems to be difficult to erase them. Is there any other solution? Oh, and I have already tried reinstalling again, but I guess I can't reinstall with ygge's kernel with keyboard as modules since I won't be able to press volume down to enter Recovery mode, am I right? Thanks.
Thanks in advance!
I already posted this issue twice in neopeek's forum, without any luck

My X1i accept calls and wifi does not work, do not help any modifications.
Does someone else have this hardware key's freezing problem as well? How did you fix it? The current solution of the kernel with keyboard separated as modules doesn't seem to be working here

Configuring Dual Boot [Flashable Configuration Zip v1.0 Released! 23 Jul 2012]

I developed a flashable zip to help configure dual boot. Zip is designed to be independent of ROM type, version and install method, whether by flashable zip, cloning primary ROM to SD, or in general copying a ROM system image to SD.
Then I overhauled this thread...
Config-Dual-Boot-v1.0-signed.zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?edgat0koyp7d33l
Backs up /sdcard[-ext]/Boot (if it exists) to /sdcard[-ext]/Boot.bak
Creates Boot/ROM1 and Boot/ROM2 directory paths under /sdcard[-ext]
Installs Script Manager on ROM1 and ROM2
Contains shell script “copy-boot.sh” to copy ROM boot partition to boot image file
Contains shell script “boot-rom.sh” to switch to boot ROM2 from ROM1 and vice versa
The updated “boot-rom.sh” script now features generic boot image directory names: Boot/ROM1 and Boot/ROM2, and automatically captures the SD Boot directory path (/sdcard for CM ROMs and /sdcard-ext for Blur ROMs).
Instructions:
1. Boot to ROM1 (emmc)
2. Reboot to CWM and flash: http://www.mediafire.com/?edgat0koyp7d33l . Doing so will backup any existing Boot directory under /sdcard[-ext] and push a new Boot directory containing empty subdirectories ROM1 and ROM2 and two shell scripts: copy-boot.sh (copy boot partition to image file) and boot-rom.sh (boot switcher).
In the following steps, the shell (sh) commands can be run using ADB (Android SDK Platform Tools), Terminal Emulator, Script Manager or other suitable app.
3. Reboot to ROM1
4. Enter: “sh /sdcard[-ext]/Boot/copy-boot.sh”. This detects which ROM is running, ROM1 in this case, and copies its boot image to /sdcard[-ext]/Boot/ROM1
5. Configure Script Manager to execute “sh boot-rom.sh 2” which enables booting to ROM2. But do not run this command until ROM2 “boot.img” is in place. We'll do that now.
6. Reboot to fastboot and connect phone to computer.
7. Enter: “fastboot flash boot boot.img” where boot.img is a boot image file modified to host ROM2 on SD. Please see my Auto-Modify Boot Image thread.
8. Enter: “fastboot reboot"
9. Enter: “sh /sdcard[-ext]/Boot/copy-boot.sh” as in step 4.
10. Configure Script Manager to execute “sh boot-rom.sh 1” which enables booting to ROM1.
More on configuring Script Manager:
Go to Settings > More > Advanced Options > Config > Home Directory. Set home directory to /sdcard/Boot. Then while still in SManager, navigate to /sdcard/Boot and press boot-rom.sh to configure. Valid arguments are:
Code:
blank: Reboot to current ROM
1: Reboot to ROM1 (emmc)
2: Reboot to ROM2 (SD)
3: Reboot to recovery
Press the “Su” box to run as root (note green symbol) and press “Save” at top right. Then press “Run” at top left to launch boot-rom.sh and reboot to the other ROM.
Place shortcut to Script Manager on home screen.
If all goes well, you can now boot ROM2 from ROM1 and vice versa with just a few screen taps.
This procedure was tested working with Neutrino V2.8 EE (CM) on emmc and NottachTrix 1.3.1 ATT (Blur) on SD.

Thanks a lot dude! Im going to try this!
how do you install two roms at the same time? i thought this was showing how to do that but im confused. how do you change the cwm zip installers to .img?
edit:: sorry i thought this was the other thread showing how to install a dual boot system but in fact its how to configure it to boot into them easier. sorry for the mixup ill defiantly read over your 1st thread
Note: Joker recommended as a refinement to place all apps in sdcard to keep apps common to both builds. Good idea.

Does this mean that across both on CM7 and CM9, the same apps will be installed? And if you install a new app, it will be seen in both CM7 and CM9?
And is data for apps accessible as well for both CM7 and CM9? So saving a data file with CM9 for example will be saved in /data and when I boot back into CM7, the same data I saved from CM9 will be there in CM7?
Lastly, did you manage to get that dalvik cache thingy working?
That's a lot of questions, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
If it is, then WOW!

Thanks for the good questions. I haven't yet considered Joker's tip in detail as I spent most of yesterday writing this thread, researching other related topics (and watching Downton Abbey with my beloved wife ). But off the top, I assume that if a given app works on both ROMs, theoretically there should not be a problem hosting it and its corresponding data on the kitchen table (sdcard).
I guess one of the challenging questions is: Are there certain apps for which data should be kept separate to enable ROM-specific customization?
I just updated my thread with this...
"Alternatively (and actually preferred), you can extract the contents of this zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?0kdp4qvy6fv71kp to /sdcard. It makes ROM selections generic, and also fixes a problem with boot-rom.sh (Android shell apparently does not like trailing spaces in script files.) Then drop your boot.img files into /sdcard/Boot/ROM1 and ROM2 and you're good to go."
Cheers.

- Use a new method to mount the partitions for a rom on SDCard. Now you can directly flash new roms without messing up the phone rom.
- Clean up other versions, they seem to be obsolete now.
How to setup and flash a new rom for booting from SDCard
Please follow the instructions below, this is the most easiest ever!!! There is no need to modify the rom or mod before flashing with my tool.
1. Back up your data (just in case)
2. Reboot to recovery and flash Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_v1.8.zip
- Select Tools section. Then select the rom slot you want. If this is the first time you use that rom slot you need to setup system, data, and cache images for the rom. In page 1 of the tool, check "Setup System" and "Setup data & cache" to setup the images. You need to do this only one time
- In page 2, select "Wipe system", "Wipe data", and "Wipe cache"
-And the most important one, select "Mount Partitions". Don't forget to select "Mount Partitions" otherwise it will overwrite the data and mess up your phone rom.
-Press Next until complete, and don't reboot the phone. (If you see any error, reboot in to recovery and try again)
3. Make sure you don't see any error in the step 2. then you can now flash any rom you like as normal. It will be flashed to the rom slot you just select in the step 2. Don't reboot after complete because you need to flash a dualboot kernel after.
4. Flash Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_v1.8.zip again, then select "Set Default Booting Rom", then select the same rom slot in step 2.
- Then select "SDCard" as default, and select "Don't Share"
- Then click "Yes" for the popup "Flash a Dualboot Kernel?" to flash a dualboot kernel. You have to flash a dual-boot kernel because in step 3, the kernel has been changed after flashing a new rom.
- Next select "HydraCore v1-7" this can boot most roms, Or you can choose "Goku v1.5-11" only CM9 & TW.
- Click "Next" till the end, and reboot the phone.
5. Now the phone should boot in to a rom on your SDCard.
Tips: To switch the rom, flash Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_v1.8.zip again, and then select "Phone" as default in the "Set Default Booting Rom" section.
Or you can keep pressing and un-pressing the HOME BUTTON at boot.
Enjoy flashing and new roms, and good luck to you!!!!!
Here is the tutorial how to flash mods/themes, just a little bit different from flashing the rom.
1. Back up your data (just in case), you may also backup the rom folder in the SDRoms folder you want to flash a mod.
2. Reboot to recovery and flash Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_vXX.zip
- Select Tools section. Then select the rom slot you want. Skip Page 1, Then in page 2, select "Wipe dalvik-cache" only
-And the most important one, select "Mount Partitions". Don't forget to select "Mount Partitions" otherwise it will overwrite the data and mess up your phone rom.
-Press Next until complete, and don't reboot the phone. (If you see any error, reboot in to recovery and try again)
3. Make sure you don't see any error in the step 2. then you can now flash any mod you like as normal. It will be flashed to the rom slot you just select in the step 2.
- Click "Next" till the end, and reboot the phone.
4. Reboot the phone and boot the rom you want.
FAQ
1. I get an error, what should I do?
- Reboot into recovery, and start over
- If still get the error, Flash "HydraCore v1-7" kernel, and reboot into recovery, and start over
- If still get the error, save the recovery log and post it here.
2. How do I reset the rom on SDCard?
- Flash Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_v1.8.zip, then select "Tools", select the rom slot you want to reset, skip page 1, then select "Wipe data", and "Wipe cache" in page 2. Then next until finish.

Old Version
Code:
Version 1.7 [url]http://www.mediafire.com/?5w03c1q49wppbgb[/url]
-Added HydraCore v1 - big thanks to g.lewarne who makes this universal kernel working for all roms TW, MIUI, CM9, CM10. Now you can use this kernel to dual boot any rom you want.
-Added latest CM10 kernel.
[SIZE="3"][B][COLOR="blue"]How to modify rom and directly flash it using the Mount Partitions Tool[/COLOR][/B][/SIZE].
[COLOR="DarkOrange"]Most of MIUI,CM9,CM10 roms have the format command which is not safe for directly flashing a rom on SD Card. Follow this instruction to remove the format command.[/COLOR]
1. Extract the rom
2. Then edit the file META-INIF\com\google\android\updater-script using Notepad++
3. Take out the format command [B]format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p9", "0");[/B] if there is any
You may also take out all the mount, unmount, kernel flashing, and modem flashing or any command that is related to mmcblk.
4. Compress/Zip the rom back. Now you have the modified rom.
5. Now it ready to flash using the mount tools. Boot recovery, run my dualboot aroma, select tools.., select a rom to flash, in page 1 select wipe system, data, and cache, then in Page 2 select mount partitions for rom on SDCard. Don't reboot after run the script. If don't see any error or fail. Then go ahead flash the modified rom. It should directly flash it into the rom you just pick. Now flash a dualboot kernel you like and enjoy your new roms.
Note: Do the same for any mod, except you don't need to modify the mod, just run the mount tool and flash the mod.
[SIZE="3"][B][COLOR="blue"]How to Setup[/COLOR][/B][/SIZE]
1. Flash a rom you want, make sure follow the instructions of the rom you want to flash. Otherwise you will get a brick.
2. Run (flash) Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_vXX.zip, then select Tools, then select rom slot (1 out of 5 slots) you want, then select "Copy system to SDCard" and "Wipe data & cache". This tool will copy your current rom to SD Card and setup the data.img and cache.img for the rom on SDCard. I takes about 5 to 10 minutes to process. [COLOR="red"](don't reboot after completion)[/COLOR]
3. Repeat the step 1 & 2 if for the second, third, fourth, or fifth rom except you need to pick a new rom slot. [COLOR="red"](don't reboot after completion)[/COLOR]
4. Run (flash) Chuan_Dualboot_Aroma_vXX.zip again. Select Default Booting Rom, then select the rom slot you want to boot, then select "SDCard" as default. Then Click Yes to flash a dualboot kernel, pick a kernel you want (make sure it's compatible with the rom you want to boot). [B]Now Reboot[/B], and the phone should boot into a rom on SDCard.

-----------Old Method---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Backup your current rom and your data just in case something goes wrong and you can recover your data. You can skip this step if you don't need to save anything.
2. Flash any rom you want like you've been doing. This rom will be a rom on your internal SD Card. Just follow the guild from Dev's of the rom you want to flash. Be careful about EMMC brick, please don't wipe using an unsafe kernel. (Skip this step if you want your current rom to be the rom on your SD Card)
Some roms don't auto get root, so just to be sure you can flash this [URL="http://www.mediafire.com/?8adhwsporsdd61w"]CWM-SuperSU-v0.95.zip[/URL]
3. Copy rom partition to internal SD Card. You can do it partially or all by flashing the following scripts.

8. Once you are able to boot the rom on the SD Card, You can now restore your old rom, or flash any new rom you want.
Remember: If my dual boot kernel doesn't support your new rom, you need to flash my dual boot support kernel to boot the rom on SD card, and you need to flash a compatible kernel with your phone rom to boot your phone rom back.
Please note that my current kernels with dual boot support work with Samsung ICS or CM9 roms. I have not tested them with any GB rom yet, so be careful when you flash them on a GB rom or a different platform rom.

July-26-12
- Add new kernel GL NOTECORE V8 with dual boot support [URL="http://www.mediafire.com/?6p5wapyps7q5qe8"]download link[/URL]
- Re-word the instructions. Much simple and faster to set-up.
Version 3.2
- Updated to SpeedMod-K3-9 source
- Optimized booting time - (about 6 seconds faster than original SpeedMod-K3-9)
- Add feature to safely share data partition if the two roms are the same base but different mod/theme.
- Update SD Rom by extracting system and data folder to /sdcard/SDRoms/update/ - experiment (report if it works for you)
Version 3.1:
- Add feature to put the update.zip in the /sdcard/SDRoms/update/ folder for flashing a mod/theme on the SD Rom.
- Create a file "wipe_dalvik-cache" file in the /sdcard/SDRoms/update/ folder to wipe dalvik-cache on the SD Rom. (simple and fast)
or simply flash this [url]http://www.mediafire.com/?690wyv2zt5j7185[/url] ro wipe dalvik-cache on the SD Rom.
Version 3:
- Updated to SpeedMod-K3-7 source
- Add script to wipe data & cache for rom1 on SD Card. You can also save 1.1 GB space with this. This contains empty data and cache partition images and extract them on your SD Card. You can also save a lot of time & space by simply copy the system to sd card, and then flash sd_internal_rom1_wipe_data_cache.zip
Version 2:
- Updated to SpeedMod-K3-6 source
- Add default rom value in bootsdrom.cfg. Now you can set default rom (phone or sdrom) by changing the default value in the config file.
- Add CMW restore scripts to restore sdrom back to phone rom.
- Some minor tweaks.
Version 1:
- Initial release
- Fix the mounting bug (swaping external and internal sd card) - Kernel/CWM
Could you make an app?
It would be easy to make some $.
Not right now, this requires some kernel modification which is not easy to do in an application. The app may help to flash the rom on SD card faster and easier, but can't change the kernel itself.

Good luck for this project
Will try it out sometime...
Nice concept.. I always want to have dual boot for Samsung and AOSP/CM based ROM... But now, wait until we see a one-for-all kernel like siyah to be developed for our Notes..
Wow ! Waiting for such a thing !
Will install it and see ....
How can I delete the Rom on SD again, if I don´t want it anymore?
And to be sure the SD means the external SD.
thanks for answer
Edit: sorry to say, but ur links are 404 Error, can´t download anything
Just delete the SDRoms folder on your internal SD card. SD means internal SD. You can move it to external SD by changing the bootsdrom.cfg values.

With changing that value, is it possible to get triple boot?
I imagine to have:
- CM/AOKP in the main ROM
- custom ROM based on TW on internal SD
- official ROM on external SD.
Download link
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xc03yg1wjjzziys
I would give it a try if the download links would work
and thanks for the quick answer
I think it´s really cool to have two Roms on our Note to play with
Edit: too late, first Link is back again
CM/AOKP is not supported right now.
Here is an example of the values in the bootsdrom.cfg file
rom=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom1
system=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom1/system.img
data=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom1/data.img
cache=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom1/cache.img
After you are done copy rom to SD card, you can rename the rom1 to rom2 in the SDRoms folder. Then change the values in the config file like this
rom=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom2
system=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom2/system.img
data=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom2/data.img
cache=/sdmnt/SDRoms/rom2/cache.img
If you want to use external SD instead.
Copy the SDRoms folder to your external SD
then change the config file values like this. sdmnt1 means external SD.
rom=/sdmnt1/SDRoms/rom1
system=/sdmnt1/SDRoms/rom1/system.img
data=/sdmnt1/SDRoms/rom1/data.img
cache=/sdmnt1/SDRoms/rom1/cache.img

is there a way to change that it boot normally the phone Rom and press home button only if I want to boot the SD Rom?
Wait for my next update

I tried the setup.zip but the is no bootsdrom.cfg file in SD Rom folder
I tried it twice.
so I cannot boot the SD Rom
any suggestions?
no root! for phone Rom
for first problem I copied over the bootsdrom.cfg in the folder and it works,
booted the SD Rom and it has still root
but now I can´t boot Phone Rom with holding Homebutton
now I can switch between the Roms by rename bootsdrom.cfg to .bak
but it always been optimizing the apps when switch the Roms
I get root back for the Phone Rom
I get it nearly all to work
only things are that the homebutten at booting doesn´t work, have to rename the bootsdrom.cfg into .bak for booting phone rom
and
the optimizing all apps at switch between the roms
but therefor it´s REALLY cool and I THANK YOU again for your GREAT WORK :good:
I always searched for a thing like this
Really great work
Looking forward ti seeing you porting it to cm9 kernel

a few little things that I noticed:
- after each switch I have to decide which Home Launcher I want to use
- the widgets I place on Nova Launcher are the same on both Roms, so I guess if I use the same Launcher I can´t use different Widgets by default
- the Icon Quickpanel Settings is shown in one Rom but in the other Rom the Icon is shown as not installed, so I have to put it again from app drawer to the homescreen
- and I tried to copy the files from sd_rom_setup into the right folders so that the homebutton work, but it doesn´t work
realy great job mister...
will learn how to implement..
now i can put also switch my fav rom... albafinalstage n cassie 4.5 slim

1.(RECOMMENDED) Be on a stock ROM, installation will be cleaner
2.Download THIS EXT4 tool, the Kernel and the Rom on your device.
3.Flash on Samsung recovery (or your recovery if you are not on stock), my temp. CWM.
4.When you are on the Temp. CWM, flash the EXT4 Formatter tool, so whole system will be converted to EXT4. (Stock filesystem is RFS)
5.After the installation, flash my kernel you have downloaded before.
6.When the Kernel is installed, go, on the CWM, to advanced --> reboot recovery (this will reboot the device, and turn it on on the new CWM of kernel)
7.Wipe data, cache and dalvik
8(IMPORTANT) Go to mounts and storage, and make sure system is mounted (will show unmounted) mount it 2 times!
9.Go to install zip from SD Card, choose zip from SD card and install your Androidiani-Experience-FINAL. (MAKE SURE installation last more than 5 seconds, if is less than 5 secodns, your system is unmounted! repeate step 8).
10.After installation, go back and reboot system, if you made it good, ROM boots, so no problem on it.
