I have the streak 7 and have not been able to install app all the sudden. It says downloading then nothing. I have not been able to find anything on the net about it. I am using wifi I dont have have tmobile activated. Any heard of this before. Running 2.2.2 right.out of the box.
I have had this problem on a couple of devices. On one, I have to turn wi-fi off, then turn it back on. Then the app will download.
another thing to try its to go to settings>applications > manage applications> market>clear data. pull up the market app again and re-log in.

Is there any way to tether an android device to your laptop via Bluetooth DUN? Basically what I'm trying to do is to initiate a internet connection (over 3G) from my laptop, WITHOUT having to take my phone out of my pocket.
I used to be able to do this ages ago when I had a Symbian device, and it was convenient. What I have to do now, is take the phone out of my pocket, start the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" service on my phone, and then put it back in my pocket.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks. I just tried it. It seems to do most of the job. However, you still have to start the service within the app on the phone (for example after a reboot). Would love to have something that runs on its own, without any user input at all once it is installed.
As well, does anyone know what the battery use is if I leave it running all the time?

I used it on my G1 running donut and it didnt seem to make any change on battery life, but my battery life was horrible to begin with,so it could have some impact and I just didnt notice. My g1 lasts about 4 hours on a full charge, thats just sitting there,it dies after about 45min of talking.
When I connect my Revo to my MB, the Revo will charge, but it won't show the option to mount. The icon doesn't appear on the top left that it's connected via USB. Also, when I try to go into the connectivity settings, it force closes every time regardless of whether or not I have the phone plugged in. Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to put some music into my phone.. also, I can see how this will become a problem when it's time to get deeper into the root functions of this phone.
Are you running the decrapified rom or factory?

running factory with a manual debloat. damn i hope i didn't ".bak" anything i wasn't supposed to. i followed the list that was on here though.
You deleted something you shouldn't have. I did the same thing. I had autorun.apk force closing even though i didn't delete autorun.apk. Something else has to be linked to it. If i were you i'd restore and flash the decrapified 1.1.
I've tried to beam anything (photo, video, webpage, etc) from my Nexus 7 to my Galaxy Nexus and it won't work. I went into settings and made sure that NFC was checked and Android Beam on. This was the case for the GN but the 7 didn't allow me to select it. The NFC is checked but it's 'greyed' out and won't let me select it. Same with the Android Beam.
Anyone else having this issue? Or know how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance!

Do you have airplane mode turned on?
I may be wrong but I believe android beam only allows for web and application address data to be shared. Pictures and whatnot are to large for the NFC chip to handle.

Yea it passes small amounts of data although I just saw a SGSIII commercial at the movies where a guy does this. I'm not sure if it uses NFC the whole way or merely as a flag to turn on Bluetooth, pair, transfer, and disconnect... or use WiFi beam.

Did you ever find out a solution to your problem? I noticed I now have the same problem. I just used a NFC tag a week ago and am trying to figure out what I have done to the tablet since then. Definitely not in airplane mode.
EDIT: Never mind, a power off fixed it.
Is NFC turned on? settings > more > nfc - tick
Open Google Wallet
The NFC option on mine was not available until I activated (opened) Google Wallet.
Did you try a restart? Mine was greyed out last night along with NFC. Restart fixed it

This may not get you working, but it's definitely a little more insight as to what is happening for this type of transfer (larger payloads):
Android Beam
Android Beam is a popular NFC-based technology that lets users instantly share, just by touching two NFC-enabled phones together.
In Android 4.1, Android Beam makes it easier to share images, videos, or other payloads by leveraging Bluetooth for the data transfer. When the user triggers a transfer, Android Beam hands over from NFC to Bluetooth, making it really easy to manage the transfer of a file from one device to another.

I have bigger problem. My NFC and everything is working fine as far as software is concerned and the option is not out grayed out either. The option is checked however I am not able to beam anything to my SGS3. There is no sound or indication when I put them together from back. I know my SGS3 works fine because I have beamed someone before using it.

I had the same problem. All you have to do is shut down your Nexus 7 and turn it back on and you're all set.
Anybody know how to stop this ? The first few weeks of using my phone it was quite low but now it's sky high! Have had a Google and tried unsyncing everything, turned off background data, turned off back up and still it's getting worse! Any ideas ?

Looks like something is failing to sync properly and is stuck trying to do so. Have you had a look in your sync settings to see if anything is doing this?
My browser once got stuck in this state. Turning off the sync for it, going into the app settings and wiping cache and data sorted it.
Failing that, try Settings> Call Settings> Use Internet Calling, and check not settings in there are causing it.
Not left Wi-Fi hotspot on have you?
Try putting this on to find the culprit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.taosoftware.android.packetcapture&feature=search_result
Most of my synching is off and it's not on auto sync, but my internet calls was on to accept only internet calls ? Although an account isn't set up with it, but I did download Skype once at perhaps the same of this rise, have changed it to ask for each call and will monitor it!

Probably Facebook lol.. Act as account manager Toggle/Sync
Still eating it up today, what does that app do that you linked too ?

I've used Motorola Connect with my Moto X from Telcel on Google Chrome with success. But recently I noticed it is not signing in and trying to do so fails. It gives out the following error:
Couldn't connect to your phone using "my email".
Make sure your phone is turned on and connected to the internet, then click Try again. Still not working? On your phone, go to Settings > Active Notifications. Make sure Motorola Connect is turned on and using the same Google account.

Thanks, worked great. Just had trouble finding the app to remove the data from. Turned out to be "ID del Dispositivo" (mexican phone) instead of the Motorola Connect app.
