I guess I'll get my flame retardant suit on here goes:
I can't seem to get data enabled on my device. I have trouble shot everything possible so I called sprint dreadfully, but since my phone is rooted and running a custom ROM they can't help till I re-vert. I have tried all ways of re verting and have simply failed everytime.
1. How can I revert to non rooted or how can I get the closest to stock so that I can try to enable data on this device?
2. If anyone has any idea why my data isn't working (I have tried profile updating as well as msl codes through sprint also simply enabling mobile networks) I'd be much happier
This is my father's device and I just to get the data flowing.

FIXED>>>Re Verted to a older Nan of DC and flashed RUU from HTC site officially unrooted.
Happy New Year folks.
I just ported my brother's AT&T number to a Simple Mobile account and I'm getting a SIM error notification icon on the top.
I don't get a window prompt of the SIM itself, I just recognize it from previous experiences.
Considered the following, but nothing worked:
- Manually adding the APN for Simple AND T-Mobile.
- Manually selecting another network operator.
- Tried reinserting the old AT&T SIM, the notification is gone of course, but I can't do anything that utilizes phone service because it's terminated.
- Searching around the rumors for a specific solution; found nothing relevant.
- Obtained an unlock code, but I can't access anything to input the code (even 2945#*925#, but I get mobile network not available),
- My IMEI is recognized by the Android OS, so I don't think I'm encountering any issues there.
Here's some info on the handset:
Baseband info: LG925AT-01-V10e-310-410-AUG-10-2011+0
Android Version: 2.3.7
Kernel: Version 2.6.35.7-cyanogenmod [email protected]) )
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7-20121202-NIGHTLY-p925
Apologies if this has already been answered.
Any guidance would be infinitely appreciated.
FYI: Just made a back up and flashed with the latest barebone CM7 ROM.
No luck, same results.
Figured it out.
I flashed a stock ROM (rooted but I don't think it was relevant) and unlocked the phone from there via the dialer app.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my problems
I have a gt-i9000 which was orginally on O2 network. They unlocked for me at the end of my contract but no matter what I did I could not get my phone to accept my new three network sim.
Three replaced the first sim and I know the new one works - they got it to work in store and I've used it on an old handset of my dads.
I can get my works sim to work in the phone and connect to data with no problems.
It was suggested that I try flashing the phone with new firmware.
So I have managed over this weekend to upgrade my firmware to 2.3.6 gingerbread xxjw4
then root the phone - first attempt bootlooped it.
but second attempt worked.
I've now got it upgraded to
4.2.2
baseband : i9000XXJVT
kernel: 3.0.71- Semaphore_JB_2.9.18s
slim version : slim-4.2.2.build3-OFFICIAL
build number JDQ39
but the three sim still will not work in the phone.
So my questions are :
any other suggestions on getting the sim to work or could it be an actual fault with the handset?
I have my husbands gt-i9000 I could try and root to see if that works but that is still sim-locked to o2 and I don't know how to remove it.
I'm also considering downgrading the firmware as I am finding quite a few of my everyday apps won't run. And my data on o2 sim seems quite flakey if it connects.
Is this as simple as flashing the old firmware back on?
Thanks for your time - grateful newbie.

Hi everyone,
I have a desire C which was originally on the 3 mobile network, I unlocked it successfully to work with other sim cards and was using it on Orange for a few months.
I have also rooted the phone following the original nameless thread & installed the nameless ROM onto it. This works fine with the ORIGINAL 3 mobile sim card but not with any other sim card. AlI get is no service showing. I cannot make or receive calls, however data works fine (with or without wifi).
I have tried the following:
turning airplane mode on and off, also usin the *#*#4636#*#* (or whatever it is!) thing to get to the test menu and turn off radio and back on again.
Wiping to factory reset
Re-installing the rom from the phones recovery "install zip from SDcard" menu, - also installed the revolution 5en5e rom
IMEI Shows the original IMEI from the phone
If I go to my available networks list it shows me the EE (orange) network, o2 Network, Vodafone network & 3 Mobile network, but no matter which one I select it says your sim card does not allow connection to this network.
I've also tried to change the way it connects from auto to manual and vice versa, but each time it says unable to connect to this network at this time, please try again later.
I just cannot get it to give me signal unless its on the orignal sim & i'm sure the signal is worse than the stock rom.
I'm assuming it's a radio issue?? only assuming as I would have though I would have the error of invalid sim/network locked etc, but I don't know enough about it really.
So currently the phone sits with the following installed:
Android Version:
4.0.3
HTC Sense Version:
4.0
Software number:
ReVoluTion 5en5e Edition v1.0
HTC SDK API Level:
4.2.1
HTC Extension Version:
HTCExtension_403_1_GA_9
Kernal Version:
3.0.16-g51cada9

Baseband Version:

Build number:
2.00.401.2CL128321 release-keys
Browser Version:
WebKit/534.30
I hope someone can help & if you need more information please let me know!
Kind Regards,
Lee
Try unlocking your SIM again, but while on the new Rom?
Make them boys go loco!
Hi,
I don't get the option to unlock the phone as it accepts the sim, just gives me no signal. Before I unlocked the phone it used to say something along the lines of sim card not accepted, you then had the option to put the codes in to release it from its carrier.
regards,
lee
I had the same problem with my SIM card. Phone is unlocked but one day I see that I don't have any network signal.
So I snoop around trying my friends' SIM cards on my phone and they work.
Went to the office nearby and told them what happened. They said its a malfunctioning SIM card and change it for free.
Now i didn't notice whether I have data traffic working but it resolved my signal problem. Hope this helps.
I've tried 3 different sims on organge and o2 and have the same issue
I've called three mobile (original carrier) and they advise that there is no barring or anything on my profile.
I think I will try to reflash to factory and try again.....I cant think of any other way.

Flashed boot.img & installed the "untouched__rom_v2.0eu_dcplx1" from this site and it does the same thing!
Does anyone know what else i can do?? or have a three mobile rom I can try?

Ok, managed to speak with three Tech support again, turns out my profile is not ok.
My phones imei has been blocked by........wait for it.........o2!!!!!
they are speaking with the fraud team and will hear back this week. How bizarre.
I don't understand how another network can block my imei from being on other networks apart from the original one? if it's blocked it's blocked surely....
ah well, will wait for the call back and post up with the outcome.
Lee
Spoke to three today who advise the phone is not blacklisted like they originally stated as they have spoken with O2.
They say there is nothing on my profile to block it and it should work.
I don't know where to go on this now.
Can anyone help please?

Hi All ,
My apologies if there is a solution to my problem in another thread. I have spent countless hours looking for a way to unroot my Sprint HTC One because the Sprint network can't seem to activate it until I do. Or I need to figure out a way to force the Sprint network to accept my MDN and MSID which can "sometimes" be problematic with rooted devices. It might be easier to just unroot and see if that helps getting the phone to properly activate.
Other than the network connectivity issues, the phone is fully functional. Just cant make calls or send texts.
I am running this ROM based on benny's system dump: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607 so my device information is:
Android version - 4.3
Sense version - 5.0
Software version - benny's 4.3
Kernel version - [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version - 1.00.20.0913_3
Build number - 3.04.651.2 CL251863 release-keys
I've tried everything I can think of to get my device unrooted, but none of the RUUs work due to being on hboot 1.55 s-on or having an older firmware version (1.29.xx or 1.39.xx.)
Is there any method I can use to get completely back to un-rooted stock rom with, relocked boot loader (know how to do that part), stock recovery, etc?
I've looked at so many different threads and google searches and all say you need to be s-off and run RUUs of versions that will either cause my touch screen to not work or worse. If anyone can help me it would be amazing and I would be much obliged.
I am having similar issues. I'm about to try this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470569&page=3 Read OP and see post#27

Ah yes! The 3.04 version wasn't available the last time I read that post! I can confirm that the other that using the 1.29 and 1.31 versions caused serious issues for me and my phone. This post is actually what led me to learn about the issues due to different firmware and file structure between new and older versions.
I'm downloading now. Let me know how it goes!

Also, check this out - http://qbking77.com/development/how-to-unrootunbrick-the-htc-one-to-stock-2/
It's a bit dated, but I am going to try this method if I can find a 3.04 RUU. Note, he is doing this to an S-On phone, which is what we have. So it SHOULD work:good:
Nothing against the first method I posted, but I'd much rather do a RUU and get a clean slate...
There is no RUU for 3.04 yet ( that I know of)...
this is your best (and pretty much only) option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46565593&postcount=27
Did you ever find a way to resolve this issue? Also did this start after flashing Cyanogenmod? I have the exact same issue and it seems I have exhausted all available resources. Currently have the following setup:
Android version - 4.3
Sense version - 5.0
Software version - 3.04.651.2
Kernel version - [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version - 1.00.20.0913_3
Build number - 3.04.651.2 CL251863 release-keys
Noticed that the phone is unable to update PRL correctly. Version will switch from 00000 to 1 to 55016. I am also unable to commit changes to any EPST settings (which is the first thing sprint tried to do). MDN and MSID both currently say 'no' and I can't update.
I'm having the exact same issue with everything working fine but no calls/texts.
I flashed the Guru reset for 3.04 but still no calls/text.
Any other solutions?

Try the following:
Full wipe. Flash the newest stable CM.
Go into Settings > More... (under Wireless & Networks) > Mobile networks > CDMA subscription:
Confirm the following settings:
Network mode = LTE/CDMA/EvDo
CDMA subscription = NV
After you confirm these settings, switch the network mode to CDMA/EvDo only and then back to LTE/CDMA/EvDO.and give it a minute or so, you should see 3G/Phone availability come back. You can test this by dialing a number. You should be able to make a call, or at least get the default Sprint "device is not activated" recording. After confirming this, you can do another wipe and flash back to a stock ROM. You should now have mobile network connectivity back. You may need to Activate the phone again and update the profile/PRL to get back to 100%.

Hmm. That's pretty much the issue that I had except 4G/Wifi was working and 3G/Call/Text didnt seem to be. You might try switching the CDMA mode to SIM and then back to NV to make sure the setting takes. I know CM can be really finicky with network changes.

You may need to flash a stock rom and manually enter you MDN and MSID using the epst menu
no luck
At this point I have not had any luck solving this issue. I used Guru's reset tool as well and believe the problem is the radio firmware. I spent a good deal of time on the phone with Sprint support and with a surprisingly competent technician in the store. He tried to work with multiple different systems they have available to get the phone to recognize the Sprint towers with no success.
He said that the phone just isn't recognizing them in any way and commented that a phone that isn't activated will still show bars of service because the phone gets the signals from nearby towers, but just doesn't know what to do with the signal until activated. In my case, all I see is the "X" above the signal bar graphic.
If you're experiencing the same issue as me, there is nothing Sprint can do to make the phone recognize their towers based on the conversations I've had. I saw my options as:
1. Wait for an RUU to come out or something like that
2. Try out different ROMs - jjmckaskie suggested the newest CM, but I would think others might be worth trying as well. Basically anything that uses different radio firmware
3. Get a new phone - This is the option I've gone with. Since my phone is running a stock ROM and the guy at Best Buy where my insurance is from, didn't check the bootloader (would have said "tampered" and "unlocked"), he assumed I never voided my warranty and sent out for a refurb. This may not work if your insurance is through Sprint though. I'm not sure how thorough they are.

As a last resort you could also try the hard reset code from your dialer by entering ##72786# . You will need to be on a stock rom. You will also need your MSL code (you can usually get this from Sprint support). This will reset EVERYTHING so be mindful. It will also force a hands free activation/Profile/PRL update after the phone reboots which is sometimes useful.

I still took it to Sprint just to see and they fixed it. Downside is my GPS and LTE is messed up again (Me trying to fix those things is the reason all this happened in the first place) but I'd rather not have GPS than not have phone capabilities on my phone (And LTE in Los Angeles is garbage anyway). I think I'm gonna leave my phone alone for a while tho, lol.

Looks like I am going to go this route. I hit ##72786# and it takes me to SCRTN screen. I'm guessing I just hit menu in the top right, then reset? Then it will prompt me for my MSL code?

Yup. I actually dont remember if it does a full wipe, or just forces an activation/profile/PRL update. But either way it's worth a shot.

Sounds like you solved your issue, but for anyone else having trouble....
I re-tried GURU's reset and it worked. The first time I downloaded it over the 4G network. I also downloaded the OTA over the 4G network. My radio has been giving me fits ever since. Finally, I downloaded GURU's reset over WIFI, then made sure the OTA downloaded over WIFI, and my phone is like new again! No radio issues, everything is perfect. Hope this helps some people...
