Happy New Year folks.
I just ported my brother's AT&T number to a Simple Mobile account and I'm getting a SIM error notification icon on the top.
I don't get a window prompt of the SIM itself, I just recognize it from previous experiences.
Considered the following, but nothing worked:
- Manually adding the APN for Simple AND T-Mobile.
- Manually selecting another network operator.
- Tried reinserting the old AT&T SIM, the notification is gone of course, but I can't do anything that utilizes phone service because it's terminated.
- Searching around the rumors for a specific solution; found nothing relevant.
- Obtained an unlock code, but I can't access anything to input the code (even 2945#*925#, but I get mobile network not available),
- My IMEI is recognized by the Android OS, so I don't think I'm encountering any issues there.
Here's some info on the handset:
Baseband info: LG925AT-01-V10e-310-410-AUG-10-2011+0
Android Version: 2.3.7
Kernel: Version 2.6.35.7-cyanogenmod [email protected]) )
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7-20121202-NIGHTLY-p925
Apologies if this has already been answered.
Any guidance would be infinitely appreciated.
FYI: Just made a back up and flashed with the latest barebone CM7 ROM.
No luck, same results.
Figured it out.
I flashed a stock ROM (rooted but I don't think it was relevant) and unlocked the phone from there via the dialer app.

So after the most recent update sent out by Google, my phone has been functionally bricked. I have lost all cellular signal and cannot dial anyone, even 911. However, Wifi and Bluetooth functionality remain.
The cell phone for some reason also does not recognize when it is connected via USB, and thus I have had major difficulties attempting to root the phone. Thus far I haven't found any means to root the phone.
Is there any way to fix this mofo? Or should I just get a new phone?
Edit: Also, wrong forum. Apologies. Move to whatever forum is appropriate.

What have you trued so far? Did you try taking out the Sim card and putting it back in? have you tried a hard reset? Also dial *#*#info#*#* and them phone info to see if you are on the right radio.

Thanks for the response.
I've tried doing a factory reset (about 3 times now). I've taken out the sim card, put it back in multiple times. I've done multiple power resets, as well as tried loading through the bootloader.
I put the *#*#info#*#* in and the phone info is set right (I believe) to WCDMA preferred.
Also tried to use passimg.zip (2.3.3) on the bootloader, but it didn't detect an image for some reason. At least that's what I read for the half second the bootloader showed something.
Hi everyone,
I have a desire C which was originally on the 3 mobile network, I unlocked it successfully to work with other sim cards and was using it on Orange for a few months.
I have also rooted the phone following the original nameless thread & installed the nameless ROM onto it. This works fine with the ORIGINAL 3 mobile sim card but not with any other sim card. AlI get is no service showing. I cannot make or receive calls, however data works fine (with or without wifi).
I have tried the following:
turning airplane mode on and off, also usin the *#*#4636#*#* (or whatever it is!) thing to get to the test menu and turn off radio and back on again.
Wiping to factory reset
Re-installing the rom from the phones recovery "install zip from SDcard" menu, - also installed the revolution 5en5e rom
IMEI Shows the original IMEI from the phone
If I go to my available networks list it shows me the EE (orange) network, o2 Network, Vodafone network & 3 Mobile network, but no matter which one I select it says your sim card does not allow connection to this network.
I've also tried to change the way it connects from auto to manual and vice versa, but each time it says unable to connect to this network at this time, please try again later.
I just cannot get it to give me signal unless its on the orignal sim & i'm sure the signal is worse than the stock rom.
I'm assuming it's a radio issue?? only assuming as I would have though I would have the error of invalid sim/network locked etc, but I don't know enough about it really.
So currently the phone sits with the following installed:
Android Version:
4.0.3
HTC Sense Version:

Software number:
ReVoluTion 5en5e Edition v1.0
HTC SDK API Level:

I hope someone can help & if you need more information please let me know!

Try unlocking your SIM again, but while on the new Rom?
Make them boys go loco!
Hi,
I don't get the option to unlock the phone as it accepts the sim, just gives me no signal. Before I unlocked the phone it used to say something along the lines of sim card not accepted, you then had the option to put the codes in to release it from its carrier.
regards,
lee
I had the same problem with my SIM card. Phone is unlocked but one day I see that I don't have any network signal.
So I snoop around trying my friends' SIM cards on my phone and they work.
Went to the office nearby and told them what happened. They said its a malfunctioning SIM card and change it for free.
Now i didn't notice whether I have data traffic working but it resolved my signal problem. Hope this helps.
I've tried 3 different sims on organge and o2 and have the same issue
I've called three mobile (original carrier) and they advise that there is no barring or anything on my profile.
I think I will try to reflash to factory and try again.....I cant think of any other way.

Ok, managed to speak with three Tech support again, turns out my profile is not ok.
My phones imei has been blocked by........wait for it.........o2!!!!!
they are speaking with the fraud team and will hear back this week. How bizarre.
I don't understand how another network can block my imei from being on other networks apart from the original one? if it's blocked it's blocked surely....
ah well, will wait for the call back and post up with the outcome.
Lee
Spoke to three today who advise the phone is not blacklisted like they originally stated as they have spoken with O2.
They say there is nothing on my profile to block it and it should work.
I don't know where to go on this now.
Can anyone help please?

Hey guys,
I got some issue with my friend's S3 i9305. That phone is not able to place/receive any call/message but it's mobile (GSM) data is working.
Initially when I got this phone from him it auto updated itself to 4.3 (from 4.1.x I guess?). At this stage (both, before & after 4.3 auto update) there was no sim inside it & neither he nor I tested if calling was working.
After that he asked me to update it to KitKat. So, before doing anything else I backed up the IMEI/NV using this tutorial & then proceeded with rooting, installing TWRP (using Skipsoft Samsung Unified Kit) & then OmniROM 4.4.4 (nightly) with PA micro Gapps package along with the XXUEMKC radio.
At this stage, when I inserted the sim I noticed that it is showing "No Service" "Selected network (<Network Name>) not available". Tried to call & it returned "Not registered on network". Tested it with another (network) sim, same issue. Both sim works fine on other mobile phones. Tried CyanogenMod 11, but nothing changed. Flashed couple different Radios & changed to Agni kernel, but no luck.
Currently I'm back to stock 4.3 rom (from sammobile). Even tried after restoring that IMEI/NV data using QPST tool. But still stuck with no service.
IMEI is intact, but one thing that I noticed with serial number is that the stock rom displays the correct serial number (RFxxxxxxxxx) in about section, while the app "Phone Info Samsung" displays two different serial numbers, 1) Serial Number: some random string 42f7xxxxxxxxx & 2) Samsung Serial Number: RFxxxxxxxx <- correct one. Also that CyanogenMod rom too displays that random string as serial number in the phone about section.
Here's the output of *#1234#
AP: I9305XXUEMKC
CP: I9305XXUEMK1
CSC: I9305XEFEMK1
Phone seems to be from France & I'm using it in India. Since it's unbranded phone, so I don't think it is/was network locked and mobile data is working fine.

were you able to figure it out I'm on the same boat and don't know what else to do to the phone
Hi All,
I've trawled through this forum for quite a while and haven't yet found any answers or similar cases to the issue I'm currently having. Here's a summary of where I am at the moment with my i9305 LTE:
- Got a i9305 locked to EE.
- When EE quoted £20+ and 10-20 days for unlock I started looking at altenatives.
- For one of the alternatives, I flashed to get root and I believe I lost my IMEI. I didn't have an efs backup and was unable to restore via stock flashing.
- Luckily, I had a screenshot of my settings so I re-wrote my IMEI using QPST.
- Decided to go for the legit unlock this time so called EE and paid for the unlock code.
- Pre-root, when I put in my unsupported SIM I would get a prompt for an unlock code, but that doesn't have anymore. While waiting for the EE code, I found that when I inserted the unsupported SIM, I would sometimes be able to connect in very specific locations (e.g. certain places outside the house). Wi-Fi works perfectly.
- When the unlock code came, I attempted to enter it by getting to the prompt using "#7465625*638*#". Although, when I enter the code here, it does not accept it (I have an unlock and an unfreeze code, neither work).
- I have trialed the SIM in various other phones and have had no problems with signal at all, the problems arise when I place the SIM in the i9305.
- I have tried changing the modem, so far no luck...
No idea how to go about fixing this... At the moment I can't use it as a phone.
Here is some more info:
Samsung GT-I9305
Nameless Rom 5.0.2
Baseband: I9305XXBLL3
Android Version: 5.0.2
- Should I keep trying different Modems?
- I've tried to verify whether phone is locked or unlocked, but *#7465625# doesn't work, do you know any other ways that I can diagnose sim lock status?
- Will different ROMs or kernels help?
Thanks for any help!
-- UPDATE --
Have flashed back to stock 4.1.1.
I attempted to sim unlock via the *#197328640# approach, but wasn't able to get it to work...
My current next hope is to try and restore my i9305 to the point where it asks for a code to unlock upon entering a new SIM again... Would really appreciate any help, Thanks!
I've still not been able to fix, but will update when I do in case it helps anyone else :good:
Hi all,
Longtime lurker and modder looking for some help. Had my C6603 for over 2 years and hope to run it into the ground.
Recently chose to switch provider, requested unlock code from current provider and awaiting. However in the mean time I am trying to get my unlock code window open, attempted entering new sim and just get limited network with no code request. Tried to find out service status but when I open dialer and enter Service Info *# code upon completion the code disappears from dialer but nothing happens. Have tried 3 different ROMs at this point in an attempt to get it to appear with no success.
Current ROM info;
Android Version: 5.1.1
ParanoidAndroid Version: 5.1
Baseband Version: 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110089-64
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-aospal-gc8a8575
Current Provider: Orange UK
Hope this helps.

Flash stock Sony ftf via flashtool and type *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer.
