hmmm.... not really sure this is what u r looking for....
i simply use "astro file manager" when i want to do a reset or something... it doesn't backup the app data like titanium does and u cannot backup the protected apps either...
it'll backup ur .apk file to a location u specify...
cheers,
I uninstalled Aldiko using Titanium Backup and it won't let me restore from the backup. Does anyone know a way I can reinstall it or where I can get an APK/flashable CWM Zip to reinstall?

im now using AOKP rom build 40 my question is if i make a full back up with cwm recovery and install or flash another rom like miui 4 and make restore will it restore all apps and settings and account and screen widgets and every things !! cause it take along time to arrange screens and installing apps and making settings !!!
No. Android backup is a complete backup like your Norton ghost in windows.
When you restore, it will restore the complete rom.
Having said that, nandroid doesn't backup your /efs folder, which you should quickly do that if you first heard if this.
To backup apps + data , use titanium backup.
You can backup system apps and user apps.
But you should not restore system apps to dissimilar rom.

" nandroid doesn't backup your /efs folder, which you should quickly do that if you first heard if this. " what do u mean by that and what is nandroid ?
Android backup is the backup done via cwm recovery.
Efs
I mean go copy that folder to your PC now for safe keep.
It contains your IMEI .

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to extract file that created by stock Sony backup and restore utility?
It seems like the file is encrypted as I have to enter password at time of creating them. I need to extract one chat history and restore it manually.
Thanks!

hey.
my simple trick to restore my sms messeages from a "Sony backup & Restore"-FullBackup was, that i backuped only the empty messages again to a new Restorepoint. than i replaced the created file with that one from the fullbackup folder. only replace the file and do not delete other files or folders!
when you restore now from the last backup, you will get the content from the fullbackup.
i hope, this will help you ... but you need the Sony backup App for this procedure
I have problem with backup . I've done it while i was on 5.0.2 with system app backup and restore . Now on 5.1.1 with same app i can not restore it back cause they are not compatible... Is there any tricks that could help me here to somehow extract and open files from .semc-fullbackup folder?

Try link2sd for uninstalling pre-installed apps or delete apk file manually from /system/apps/ with root explorer after rooting your phone
