Changing menu outline color - Android Themes

Hi there,
I'm trying to edit a couple of the settings menus (add to homescreen + wallpaper select) on a 1.84 Sense Rom (using Launcherpro, Revolution DHD theme) to change the color of their outline, and I'm wondering what I need to edit to get this done. I'm also trying to change the color of the "menu sliders" in the settings and preferences menus. I think I may have found the slider drawable, but I can't seem to find any drawables for the outlines, and I assume this means I need to edit something in framework-res.apk to make the change. I've decompiled and opened styles.xml, but now I'm lost (and I may be barking up the wrong tree altogether). If anyone has any tips, they'd be much appreciated.

Changing Highlight Color

How can I change the highlight color for the current theme I'm using?
I remember having the "minus" theme or something on CM4.2.9 before I caught up with the times again, and I remember having an option in Metamorph to be able to change things like the highlight, or maybe it was the overall color for the theme.
I would think that it would be possible to change the highlight color throughout the system, unless its app/process specific, in which case it would have to be custom made into the theme.
Can anyone provide some help with this? If you cant give a simple way to do it, I guess my next step would be to learn how to edit the theme files and change the highlight color myself.
I'm currently running CM4.2.15.1 with the Darkstar theme.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Changing launcher foreground

Trying to customize the bottom ("launcher"?, you know, it has "phone", + and the app list) on htc sense (for now). I've made the background for the launcher transparent but now I want to get rid of the text "Phone". I can't find any image in either framework-res.apk or com.htc.resources.apk that correspond with those foreground icons.
How do I go about changing them? Am I just looking at the wrong set of images or is it time to get into some scripting/layout editing?
And, a much more important question, what's the best resource for me to go about solving future problems like this on my own? Searches don't really turn up good resources (ie, a description of what each folder contains, where to find status bar resources, etc). I'm a rather independant learner but this particular platform is leaving me a little on my knees.

[Q] (Q) how to make my application background transparent

HI FOLKS, i've been diving all over the forum/thread/post but i didn't find any solution according to my question ONLY one i need to ask.
HOW can i change the background to transparent, e.g MINICM rom.
i have change the background with another picture, but i feel tired with the background itself. and i want to change them to transparent. so it can show the wallpaper.
i have done with editing the *.xml file, looking what need to be change but the result is not satisfied me. it overlay when i open the submenu. so it makes me confuse.
e.g when i open the setting > cyangogenmod setting
it overlay the whole text in settings
so, anyone can teach me how to make the background to be transparent.
** I WON'T USING THEME OR WHATEVER, I WANT BUILD IN TRANSPARENT **
please someone
did i say please?

[CLOSED] How to change font colors?

Hey Guys,
i`m searching for a method to change my font color.
As i posted in the "Show your wallpaper sticky" my Wallpaper has a white Background.
I also made the status bar and the dock fully transparent.
So it is impossible to read the clock or something else what is written in white...
Hope someone could give me a kick in the right direction.

Changing the native font colour involves pulling your framwork-res.apk, decompiling it, editing the hex values in XML, recompiling it and then pushing it back to the phone. I'm sure if you Google "change font colour android" you'll find a few guides.
Alternatively, it would be much easier to just use a different background
hi postfatal,
thanks for your response.
i googled the entire morning and this is really the only solution?
*sigh*
so i have to learn a bit more about our beloved android system
i wouldn't change my wallpaper because after 3 years i found a nice new one
So i give it a try and make the impossible possible ;P

[Q] Modifying SystemUI

I am looking for some information and assistance with attempting to modify the SystemUI.apk or in creating a custom Theme for my HTC One M7 on Android 4.4.3 with Sense 6. I am running the ARHD Rom but I would like a method independent of using Custom ROMs or Xposed framework if possible, requiring root is fine. I have seen some packages that do some of this which contain a vrtheme folder in them but haven't been able to find a tutorial on building one of these and which files are for which icons.
I have tried modifying the background color in res/values/drawable.xml and in res/layout/status_bar.xml files to #ff000000 but the status bar still appears grey on the home screen. This seems to match with the theme I selected from the Personalize menu in Settings. It's my guess that somehow, these theme settings override the systemUI settings. So I would like a way to create my own theme to select which will hopefully also allow me to change the color for selected notifications and the like.
In addition to this, I have a set of icons for the status bar such as battery power, battery charge, wifi signal, cellular signal, mobile data quality, etc.. which I would like to use to replace the systemUI icons for these. However, there seem to be several versions of icons in various drawable folders. So if I could find out the requirements for these files (size, naming, location to replace them at) or if there is a way to replace them as part of a theme that is, again, independent of custom rom or xposed framework if possible.
If anyone knows of a tutorial that already exists for any of these things simply pointing me to that is answer enough, I just didn't have luck finding it when trying to search for it.
