Handcent mms not working - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

Is anyone experiencing issues with Handcent MMS not working. I'm running VirusROM with adrynaline 4.4.2 kernel. Any help/suggestions are appreciated
Sent from Ced's Thunderbolt XDA app - Infected with the VirusROM

If you look at the comments in the market(I know it's not the best place for reliable info), you will see a lot of people are having issues with the most recent build of 3.8.2. I had no problems with it up until about 2 weeks ago, then it slowed down like crazy. Lag between getting a text, and being notified of a text. Not getting MMS. Not actually sending texts out.
I switched to GoSMS to get rid of the issue. It worked for what it was. I went ahead and threw CM7 on my bolt last night/this morning and figured I'd give it a shot. It works fine on that, but on Das Bamf remix 1.5 it sucked.

Works for me. das BAMF 1.5 Remix (4.4.2 kernel) w/ new radio.

Jus tried goSMS, and to no avail. Maybe its a ROM issue. Anyone with VirusROM having this issue?

Works great so far bamf 1.5 with latest radio. However on my d1 in the past after extended use it would lag and stop sending messages and had horrible mms issues. But for now running two weeks strong....

Actually I did. I kinda figured that was the issue so then I downloaded the stock MMS/SMS app and still no luck. Im running out of ideas and it seems no one is responding with suggestions, only telling me their not having this issue and is not even using the same ROM I am. Would you happen to have any other ideas?

I'd imagine you'd get more info if you explained what issues you are having.

I cant send or receive MMS. i get an error stating service not activated on network, though i do have txt msg on my account.

May have to call Verizon.

No, just reinstall virus, you'll be fine. Sometimes the stock apps don't like to be re-installed.

[ROM] Lithium Mod 0.0.4 in ROM Manager

Note: I am in no way associated with the authors of this ROM.
While perusing ROM Manager this morning I stumbled upon a new entry. Attempts to uncover any useful details about the 0.0.4 release of Lithium Mod proved fruitless, and yet curiosity got the best of me (as it musually does with my Inc). I've installed It and thus far am impressed with a lean, stable AOSP build with some interesting tweaks built in.
Please reply with any usage reports or pertinent details concerning this release, whether it be stock or modded in any way you see fit.

Attributes discovered thus far:
-Customized power menu

-15 second boot time

Very sure, actually reflashed it (and am still on it) to make sure. This is all I have in the app drawer:
Browser, calculator, calendar, camera, clock, contacts, dev tools, email, gallery, lithiummod, messaging, music, phone, search, settings, spareparts, speech recorder, superuser, voice dialer.
I even went to a site (appbrain) and tried to download a random app (astro free) from market and it brought me to a page saying "Web page not available The Web page at market://details? id=com.metago.astro&referrer=utm_source might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Here are some suggestions: Check to make sure your device has a signal and data connection Reload this web page later. View a cached copy of the web page from Google"... I have the blue version of Lithium, if that matters at all. Is it just hidden somewhere obscure? I've looked around in dev tools and lithiummod, but maybe it was too general? Either way, I don't see market under settings>applications>manage applications>all... So yeah, any help?
EDIT: Downloaded Astro from 4Shared, so I could access Titanium and install it, so I can get all of my other apps, just not market lol...
Need to install Google apps

Call Record?

New to the TB, and I've seen a couple references to a kernel specific call recording feature. Was wondering if this is an app, cooked into roms, or what?

[REQ] ICS Stock Text Messaging App for NS4G

**EDIT**
DONE! AOSP is the man, ya'll This thread can be closed!
ICS Messaging App for Nexus S 4G can't split messages, well, it does, but they come out all jumbled up. And, it can't send or recieve pictures. So, I'm asking if anyone of the bada** dev's can fix it. I know it's been fixed in GB, I'd like it to be fixed for ICS.
I've tried MOST of the ICS ROMS available for NS4G and every one is the same in this regard, if I'm wrong and there is a ROM that addresses this, please let me know... Thanks!
Also, I've tried Handcent and GoSMS, they both do the same thing on ICS, so, if it's not the app and it's the code for this release of ICS, please let me know. And I understand that CMDA phones don't contain the feature to split SMS, but my phone hardware hasn't changed from GB to ICS and this worked for me with GB, so shouldn't it be able to be done?
Any takers?
I'm sure when the cm9 release candidates come about you will receive exactly what you are looking for. My guess is it wasn't a stock GB rom you were running when you had the 160 split.
There is NO 4G on the Ice Cream Sandwich roms. Check back in January.

Yeah, it was Oxygen on GB...
So is it because of the ROM and not the app?

I'm just going out on a limb here and say yes. Either that or the SMS code was edited on gb to allow it and no one has figured it out on ics?

If you've tried handcent and go sms then you would know they both have an option to split messages if you look in the settings menu right?

Yeah, they both actually do it by default. However, when the text comes through, it's jibberish. The stock ICS app actually splits the messages by default (at least the one in all of the ROMS I've used) but the messages come out on the other end as jibberish.

OK, I just sent an MMS (random pic from gallery) to myself and it worked. I'm running aops's ICS 4.0.1 with working MMS.
As for splitting SMS and getting gibberish, haven't come across that yet on this rom as I haven't had a chance to send longer than 160 words SMS's yet.

I'm running the same ROM....
So the only pics I had tried to send before reading this post was a screenshot from the phone. It just hung and said it was sending.... would sit like that for days.
So, I sent myself a gallery photo and it worked. After that I tried a screenshot and it worked! One of the messages I had tried to send two days ago all of a sudden went through and my friend got it. So he sent me a screenshot of his phone and I was able to download it, which didn't work before either. Very strange.
Another oddity is that now when I reach 160 characters, I can't type anymore. Before I could type multiple messages at once but they would be jumbled up on the other end.
It's dumb, I know, but I feel like sending that gallery pic "reset" my messaging app. I hadn't done anything different prior to sending that gallery photo...
Very strange, but I can live with it. Tiny price to pay for ICS.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
To get the texts to go out and not be jobberish you have to add the counter option in handcent or gosms. There is an option in handcent where you have to add the counter and split the text.. so when it sends out a text that is over 160 characters... it labels it 1 of 2 and 2 of 2.. This will get rid of the jibberish and fix your issue..
But you are correct a developer will have to add this option for the stock app to work right...
Hope that helps and is understandable..

Correct. Oxygen was one of the few that split correctly. Its all in the xml edits
I'm on AOSP oICSv21 and the stock messaging app does not allow texts over 160. I would love the ability to split messages again. That seems like such a base feature to be left out...

you guys know that the source code out isn't for cdma, right? just chill out and wait for the cdma version of the rom and then it will work. it's close to impossible to modify the apk to split sms automatically.

um that is how it first came about. Someone modified the apk for stock SMS on the evo 4g. He released it here on xda and then pushed it to the Cyanogenmod git. That is how cm7 got messaging split. Stock gingerbread does not split. Not even on the nexus s 4g.

Ok I have the same problem however, I was in Vegas this afternoon and was able to use skype while on the AT&T LTE service and my picture was great! NO GREEN!!! When I got home this evening to my slower 5 mbps speed the picture was green again. I think it has to do with ICS and the speeds that we are downloading with. Gary
I use oovoo as an alternative right now.
I noticed that Skype had an update, so I updated it hoping that it would be a fix to the problem. Unfortunately, the green is still there. Skype is not fixing our problem!!! >.<

For those with MMS problems on kitkat

I recently purchased a Straight Talk plan ($45/mo) so I could use my Vivid as a phone. I have consistently been updating my ROM and testing out CM10.x, CM11, RR, PAC, AOKP... Anyway, while using the latest PAC rom, I noticed that I too had issues with sending and receiving MMS messages. Rignfool had previously posted a fix wherein one would download hangouts and use that, but I did not have success with this method (it might have been because I'm on ST as opposed to AT&T, or maybe I've always been flashing hangouts as a replacement default SMS app).
Anyway, I found that in my situation (clean install of PAC rom 8-6-2014 (android 4.4.4), flashing stock pa gapps, and flashing a backup of my user apps made through Titanium Backup), installing 8sms and then choosing it as my default SMS app in settings (just called "messaging" in my case). I made no changes to my APN at this point (my settings APN was Straight AT&T, tfdata), and sending pictures worked without a hitch!
I'm making this thread to discuss any ways to fix/workaround any MMS issues, with the hopes of uncluttering the development threads and actually getting solutions to those with problems.
