UPDATED TO LAUNCHER2.APK FROM COMMROMv1.3.
Named CleanedUP.
It is designed for the Community Rom ONLY!!!! It has not been tested on any other theme. It might work it might not.

The square bar code I created for this Launcher is scannable with a bar code reader. It will say "App Drawer". Nice little touch I thought
As you can tell its a general launcher nothing overly special. Just CleanedUP nicely and a little fancier than the stock .apk. It doesn't have the page icons on each side of the launcher bar, but all 5 pages remain, just swype either direction and it will change pages. Didn't like the little dots so they came out also.
It's based off the Sexy Rose Mod found in this thread by nitsuj17. Unsure of original creator of the modded Launcher 2.

Installation instructions:
Download Launcher2.apk to your sdcard. Use Root Explorer to copy file from sdcard to /system/app folder. Overwrite original file. Hit back button twice to return to main directory folder /. Then hit home button. Launcher should reload as the themed launcher. This is the way I have done this. Any other way has not been tested so perform installation in other ways at your own risk. This will take off widgets installed on your pages so you will need to reactivate them to a page.

Nothing was wrong with the original it just is very basic and blocky. To me cleanedup is smoothing out the rough edges and making it sexy like the phone. Name change is coming tonight anyways with the edify version upload.
Sorry for any confusion.

why cant we just install using astro or something like any other keyboard and turn it on and off in the input settings? why do we have to push and write over the stock one?
This is a V2 bug fix version. You dont want the stock version after using this trust me.
awesome!!!
this keyboard is great!!!!!
Worked great thanks,the only thing is that you have on your notes to flash the apk but that was not the way i got it to work,instead after moving the files from the zip like you said i also copied the apk file to system/apps rebooted then installed the apk file and it worked lik a charm,just an fyi.

I cannot get this to work for the life of me. granted I'm trying to do adb from memory and I havent used it in forever.
adb shell
mount
adb push
that's the order right? I just cant get it to work for the life of me.
the explorer built into froSHEDyo won't let me copy/move files to system
okay, i finally downloaded super manager (great app btw) and got the two files into the app/lib folders
then i try to install that apk, and it wont install!
so now I don't have keyboard... luckily i still had an apk of that thumb keyboard so I'm using that for now.
I'm gonna go try that flashable .zip :/...

Here is a HTC Froyo Sense theme for the Huawei Ascend.
Must have root permissions
Version 0.5
Download: View attachment HTCFroyoAscend.zip (metamorph)
Make clock white after install:
After you reboot, open Root Explorer.
With root explorer, browse to /system/build.prop.
Long tap on build.prop and select Open in Text Editor.
Scroll down and find hw_customizetype=01 and change it to hw_customizetype=02.
Save your changes and reboot.
Or simply download and replace the build.prop with the one that is attached to this thread.
Download: View attachment buildprop.zip

Yes, it runs the same its just a theme. It's not like a theme in windows. This just replaces stock images that is on the phone. Any launcher works.

Resore the Nand backup that you made right before installing this theme If you use ZipThemer to install themes instead of MetaMorph, it has a much less painful "undo" feature.
OP, I've attached an updated version of the theme that also installs build.prop into /system/. Note that in this updated version, everything is in the root of the zip file instead of inside the HTCFroyoAscend directory (required for compatibility with ZipThemer).
And that comment in the <useless> tag looks awfully familiar, just like the one I put in my HtcBlackStatusBar theme for the Eris
Ken

I actually used your xml file, was to lazy to recreate it since I was using your theme as a reference. Hope that's ok =] the rest I did =] thanks!
With the newly packed theme, It's strictly for cricKet users now. Ill repack one for MetroPCS users when I get home.

Well I used metamorph to install the theme and it looks good...but my notification bar didn't change to black. Only black boxes around my 3G, signal, and battery. Did I do something wrong?
Sent from my M860 using XDA App
If the notifican bar has black around the icons on it the bar has changed to black,its not showing up because the buildprop file needs to be edited. Use root explorer and long press the buildprop file and open it in text editor,find hw_customizetype=01 and change it to hw_customizetype=02 save changes exit and reboot.
Thanks dude. Works great now. Looks awesome

Hi folks,
With the recent port of WP7 to HD2 (credit to Cotulla, DFT, and other cooks), I know alot of HD2 users have tried it. I myself used it for about a couple of weeks, but I found that although it is great, it still was missing a couple of key features compared to android.
When I switched back, one of the thing that made me really regret was the keyboard.
After searching on XDA, I found this thread and figured it would easily work for us NAND users running Android.
It is a metamorph theme, but when I applied it, it didn't look right. The user who created the theme JAguirre1231 suggested that it didn't work correctly because the theme is suppose to be for the stock keyboard. This was a problem because I know alot of people prefer other CM, Sense or MIUI roms.
After doing some experimenting, I finally got it to work on the MIUI rom I'm using. The only thing is that this themed keyboard replaces the default and makes it the default. I'm not sure if you can add it, and keep the Sense keyboard or not.
*I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE, DOING THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK* *ALSO REQUIRES ROOT*
NOTE: DON'T TRY TO INSTALL THE .APK DIRECTLY, IT HAS TO GO INTO THE SYSTEM OF YOUR PHONE
EDIT: FROYO ONLY(?)
Like I said, I have only tried this on the MIUI rom and I would advise you do backup or take precautions because this process involves editing the system files inside your phone.
Directions
----------------------------------------------------------------
1) You need Root Explorer (available in the marketplace) and the attached file

"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) After you have Root Explorer, put the attached "LATINIME.apk" file on your sd card
3) Boot up your phone and open Root Explorer
4) Make sure the file is on your SD card
5) Next, navigate to /system/app/ and you should find a "LATINIME.apk" file in there too
6) Be sure you hit the top button so it says (MOUNT R/O)
7) Just to be safe, rename it to something else, and copy and paste it into your sd card (if anything goes wrong, just replace it with this file back to /system/app)
8) Delete the "LATINIME.apk" in /system/app and next copy and paste the attached one into /system/app
9) Exit and your new keyboard should be like the ones shown below
10) DONE!
Note that this is merely a skin for the keyboard, and all the other android settings are still the same. I also found it isn't as accurate as the real thing, but still better than the stock froyo.
This tutorial was made with the permission of JAguirre1231 and I just thought it would be easier if I share it.

Can you tell me which rom you are using?
And did you put the LATINIME.API into /system/app? If you don't have root explorer you can try ADB? Or if your rom already has the default froyo keyboard, just use metamorph skin from post #1.

Hm, I'm not sure if this works on gingerbread. I think it only works on the standard froyo keyboard.
If you want to take another stab, trying using the stock .apk from here, and if it works, just use metamorph to theme the keyboard.
Then again its up to you.
tried adb to phone but keep getting force close issue.

Thread closed at OP request
When it comes to a custom recovery, Team Win Recovery Project (aka TWRP) is, IMHO, the best option available. It's 100% open source, just about anyone can build it, and it's also theme-able, since it's XML driven.
Most people that make themes for TWRP, do it for a phone (portrait style) and not a tablet (landscape style). That's the whole reason behind this thread, to make more themes available to tablet users.
Starting out, I'll be adding links to some portrait themes that I've ported over to landscape. The theme itself will not be my original work, but themes created by others (used with permission of course!) and credit to the author will be noted for each set of themes. All of the zips under the Downloads section are flash-able and can be installed from within TWRP itself.
NOTE: After flashing the zip file, or doing a manual install (see below), you will need to hit the "Home" button (no need to "Wipe Cache/Dalvik). Then, select "Advanced", followed by "Reload Theme" for your new theme to be loaded while still in recovery.
Since Android is also open source, each device is a little bit different, and the themes may need to be installed manually (again, see below). And since this is XDA, I need to make this statement:
KNO'DIS: I, OR ANYONE ELSE AT XDA, WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR "BRICKING" YOUR TABLET!! IF YOU MANAGE TO MAKE A BRICK, DUE TO YOUR "FUN-DA-MENTAL" INABILITY TO READ, GO BUILD A BBQ PIT WITH IT!! (Or ask for help, there's a lot of friendly people around here)
Manual Install
The flash-able zip would install to the following path:
Code:
/data/media/0/TWRP
# And then it creates:
theme/ui.zip
# So, end result would be:
/data/media/0/TWRP/theme/ui.zip
You can use a root file explorer (such as ES) to create this path, if your device uses the "/sdcard" path instead of "/data/media/0". After this has been done, you may be able to flash the zip file with TWRP (untested).
Alternately, you can download the zip(s) you want, and extract to a convenient location on your PC. Then place the "theme" folder in: /data/media/0/TWRP, so TWRP can find it.

The Materialized theme is far beyond the standard TWRP Theme (obviously). To port it to landscape would require a major rewrite of most, if not all the XML files, as well as resizing all the images.
That endeavor would take weeks (or months) to complete

@NepoRood,
@G.M.L requested that i get with you about converting his AICP phone theme to tablet layout. Here is a link to the theme G.M.L created https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120700351 and he also gave permission.
When you have time and if you feel like it would be appreciated. Thanks:fingers-crossed:

Yeah, I'll take a crack at it for you. Give me a few days, also keep in mind: it's been a while since I've messed with any themes...
