Hi
I need some help deleting files with root explorer.
I have tried to mount the system to r/w with abd, terminal emulator and root explorer but I still cannot delete files. When the file is deleted it just returns.
I am on Juwe's rom and DTGO kernel.
It is starting to p*** me off. It like my wife nagging me to do something
Please can anyone help me????
Thanks

I have the latest root explorer.
I don't know what else to do other than try another file explorer.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks

Ok, extracted files out of factoryfs, created the system folder, built everything around that. Zipped up, signed it. Trying to flash, get a Error creating symlink
cant symlink /system/bin/cat
Failure at line 6:
symlink toolbox SYSTEM:bin/cat
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anything that is being symlinked needs to be removed from the /system/bin folder.
Yep I pulled it all out pre zip.

So there is no file named "cat" inside /system/bin?
Correct

You mean so they're not hidden? If so yeah, I actually went through Update-Script and removed anything that was being symlinked from system/bin.

yeah. the only reason i can see why you would get that error is because of symlinked files
I read somewhere I could be so to my version of java. I "think" I have the right version but can someone link it for me just in case.

Hello
I use LAUNCHER PRO + and Rom of DARKY 9.2
I went into the settings of the LP and tried to enable the 3D menu.
He asked me to do Ristert to LAUNCHER and then I clicked YES.
I noticed that the settings are not saved.
Would love to help.
Thanks.

Had the same issue after updating my Galaxy S to 2.2.1. Save your data and hard reset your phone with recovery mode. Then install 2.2.1 with Odin. Worked for me.

I had the same issue after installing a no-wipe rom. Easiest solution is to install fresh with a wipe rom.

Yeah right, it's much easier to start from scratch than to go to dbdata / databases and delete a folder
yeah, I had the same issue too and the only solution was to delete com.fede.launcher folder in dbdata/dadabases with my root explorer
Ha thank you thank you and thank you thats been annoying me for ages, the database trick worked for me.

Hey guys? I think this update can't be rooted with the files we currently have....
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-S5830&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware
Latest Spain 2012 KTQ. I used the AceGingerRoot and the Upd_1 file as well. There's no SuperUser installed D:
EDIT: Confirmed. As soon as I switched back to KTM, I was able to root using the upd_1 file.
Is there enough system free space?
If not, delete some apps and try!

Yeah, the rom was freshly installed. I hadn't installed anything else. Just went straight to root and the SU app didn't appear after using both files.

You need root access only for writing files onto /system and not for reading files!
Do you can use root explorer to check the space left in /system

Lmao awareness of what? And that's a lie. I didn't know it couldn't be rooted. The update file and the ginger root say all GB roms can be rooted.
False Advertising.

Oh.. so i bricked my phone, cuz i have both of files I have 10 phone with android, and on anyone i didn't delete this file...
Build.prop.bak is a file made by root explorer or any other file menageer, as backup of orginal build.prop. If you edit any txt file by root explorer, its make a *.txt.bak of this file.
thanks bro

ok its showing this
owner - read , write, execute (no ticks)
group - read, write, execute (all three ticks)
others - read, write, execute (read and execute only ticked)
i tried ticking all the empty ones it gives an error that changing permissions wasn't successful ... some system apps don't allow permission changes

I guess you are flashing a 4.2.2 MMS.apk on a 4.1.1 rom so it's not going to work.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637121
It's for 4.0.4 but should work on 4.1.1, if it not work then restore the original MMS.apk you can get it from one of the 4.1.1 roms on the forum.
