[MOD] Enable HUSPA on ATT - Atrix 4G Android Development

UPDATE:
Most users that have flashed this radio are reporting increased download speeds as well as HUSPA upload speeds and better latency/ping times. HOWEVER, several users have reported an increase in the amount of heat dissipated which, combined with run-away apps that are constantly churning data, could cause your phone to get hot.
There have been a lot of questions about inconsistent speed tests. I've even seen some posts claim that they're download speed has gone down. Please use some common sense here and understand that there are many factors that come in to play including SpeedTest, local towers, network congestion, etc.
Also, please be advised that you must use RSD Lite under Windows to flash this radio.
ORIGINAL POST:
All credit goes to NFHimself from whom I got the idea and who helped me work through the kinks.
Attached is a zip file containing 2 separate sbf files. You will want the SBF for the 1.87 baseband radio which is the same one that shipped with the Telstra 1.4.2 update. It should not require a reset as it's the radio only, and I have successfully flashed it to my ATT phone using RSD Lite giving me upload speeds slightly higher than my dl speeds (currently showing just under 2Mb).
I am also providing a radio only sdf of the stock ATT radio that recently shipped so that you can go back if need be.
Keep in mind that while it did work for me, this has not been thoroughly tested and I will not be responsible if decide to use this and you brick your phone.
Enjoy!

On topic:
This is awesome. Definitely gonna give it a go. Thanks for the hard work.

will we be able to get updates with this radio installed? or will we be required to flash the ATT radio before hand.

OMG!!! YOU ARE A FRIGGIN BOSS.
fyi: was on 1.5.7 with greyblur 2.1
upload speeds reaching 1.7-2.8 mb!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW: after 10 speedtest tests ive been average 700-900 kb. i live in the phoenix area.

Start greyed out on RSD for anyone else?

For me, I opened RSD Lite and selected the file. It came up on the right hand pane and on line 1 down below. When I clicked on line 1 towards the bottom, the phone info came up and I was able to click Start. Left the phone plugged in as it flashed and rebooted. Came up working fine and everything seems stable thus far including WiFi.

It worked for my rooted/stock att atrix 4g!!!!

Did you unpack the zip 1st??? I unpacked the zip file, left both files on my desktop, then selected the 1.8.7 radio file in RSD lite

Nice, will try when I get home today. Thx!

When I test speed on the computer using speedtest.net and speakeasy.net/speedtest, both start out fast(up to 1Mbps) on Upload speeds, but then drop and won't even complete the Upload test. Anyone else able to replicate this from a PC. I'm tethering.

Opened in desbf and save a new SBF file which RSD was willing to flash.
Download 2759 kbps, Upload 1280 kbps
Sweet!

Do we flash this in RSDMODE?

I'm at a weak signal location right now, so it's nothing stellar, but Mobile Hotspot works fine

The stock radio flashes fine, but the new one gives me errors and fails.

RSD Error: Phone(0000) Not Compatible with super-file. (ox703b)

Full error message: Failed flashing process. phone(0000) Phone is not compatable with multi-interface super-file. (ox703b): phone connected
This is information only hopefully for someone who experienced the same issue that I did.
Long story short, I ended up boot looping my X by replacing a system file through Root Explorer and not setting the permissions properly before. Going into a panic, I started gathering the files to re-flash 2.1. When I tried to run RSD, I received the above error message. I tried different versions of RSD, different "gifts", different computers and operating systems. I hit google and was unable to find anything to help. I ended up returning my phone to Wal*Mart and got a new one (told them it bricked during an OTA update...)
After sending some messages to rootzwiki and alldroid for some help, I found that it was because the battery was not at 50% or higher (which makes sense because I let the phone loop for a couple hours disconnected from the PC in HOPES that it would come back). I'm not saying this may be the fix for all issues with the above error message, but it may be something else to try if you have tried everything and just about pulled your hair out...
Hope this helps!
FYI the only version of RSD Lite that will work with the X is veriosn 4.7, but you also have to have the OMAP patch file installed otherwise it will still not work. That said I'm not sure which version you tried or if you had it setup correctly but that could be why you wer having issues also besides the battery not being charged enough.

I started with 4.7 and worked backwards with RSD. I have been able to flash my second X with the same config settings on 4.7. The only thing that changed was the charge on the battery
Where can I find the omap patch file is it the ini file located in the rdslite 4.7+patch.zip? Im getting the same error above but my battery is 96% full. This is happening on two differnt Windows 7 32 bit machines..

Never mind it is the patch and its now restoring.
I can upload my version of RSD and the patch I have when I get home from school.
It is going to be about 3 hours.
No need, found here: http://rootzwiki.com/index.php/Smartphones/Motorola/Droid-X/Droid-X/Page-3.html
Direct link to SBF: http://www.wikifilez.com/Root Files/MotoDroidX/RSDLite-4.7+patch.zip
uninstall all the moto drivers and re-install them again. see if that works.

[Q] Need help - My Galaxy Tab SPH-P100 Bricked

I had a more complicated version of this. couldn't format, couldn't mount, nothing. My tab showed this, I tried flashing several different kernels/roms/cwm, everything, nothing. Actually made it worse. It got to a point where when I powered on, I only got the backlit softkeys. A few times I got a weird image I've never seen before. Something about bad or unknown upload mode (with a little droid in teh corner....should have taken a picture). And finally I would get nothing; HOWEVER, if I plugged my tab into my laptop and gave it a few seconds, ODIN would see it. I could try flashing a kernel, but it would never process, just hang at the first step so....
with the tab plugged into the laptop and ODIN showing a connection, I would hold VOL DOWN + POWER until I see it disconnect (this is evident of a power down since I have no lights to indicate that). Once it disconnects (yellow box disappears) you can let go of POWER but do NOT release VOL DOWN. It will reconnect shortly thereafter. You are now in Download mode (whether or not you actually see anything on the tablet. You can test this theory by flashing something. What fixed it for me? I downloaded firmware from samfirmware.com. Specifically I downloaded JJ7 v2.2 (full file name I used was P1000XWJJ7.rar) I think what made the difference was using all 3 files. I did not use a PIT file, I put P1000XWJJ7-REV03-ALL-CL669843.tar.md5 in the PDA box, MODEM_P1000XXJK5_REV_00_CL690077.tar.md5 for Phone, and GT-P1000-CSC-MULTI-OXXJK2.tar.md5 in CSC. I did NOT check repartition. Now, this was after I had tried several things like flashing PIT by itself, different stock kernels, full ROMs, etc.... This was the final step I took. Now I'm back to normal.
I'd be interested to see if this solves anyone else's problem. I am so thrilled that I just fixed my "bricked" tab (no power, no response, no apparent charging even) that I'm hoping my time and effort can help someone else.
Let us know what happens. I am actually scouring the forums now because I know at least 2 others were having similar problems as I and maybe this will help them as well.
BTW, I did lose EVERYTHING on the internal SD, including all my backups. Thankfully I always made backups to External
P.S. I should mention it is an AT&T (GSM) Tab.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think your version of galaxy tab is different with mine and I am not sure that it will work. I am really desparate for solution. This disaster started when the tab's battery is low and suddenly off and when it's charged and turned on it bricked
Point being, tabs are tabs. You will need to use the same procedure, but a different ROM that is designed for your tablet. Go there and find a ROM. There is a thread about unbricking your tablet, I think in the Android Development section that should have a link to samfirmware.com and may provide you with a ROM version that should work. something that may help: plug your tab into the charger at least overnight. I used the stock charger and cable and charged it for 12 hours or so. I did not get any indication that it was charging since the screen and softkeys would not respond, but it did charge.
Of course, I look back and I think you have an indicator, but still a good idea. Try it anyway. Can't make it worse, eh? Mine seemed hardbricked, but it wasn't. I was real close to taking it apart before I found something that works. I believe, IMO, what really fixed it is flashing ROM (PDA), Modem, and CSC files all at once. It could have been something else, but that was the last thing I did before it finally booted.
Go to samfirmware.com, create a free account, and sign in. Then go here (I think your tab is a P1010, correct?) http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1010.htm
and Download this:
1010XWKC1 ## MULTI - CSC - OXXKC1 P1WIFI 2.2.1 2011 March DOWNLOAD
(click on DOWNLOAD)
Unzip that file you just downloaded
Start ODIN
Hold VOL DOWN and plug in tab to computer
I believe 3 files should be in the .rar (you can use 7-zip to open, Google it)
the MODEM file goes in Phone.
the CSC file goes in, you guessed it, CSC
last one is PDA.
I think I just rewrote instructions that can be found in the Galaxy Tab Bible. lol. This is what I would do. It worked for me.

I've downloaded both P1000XWJJ7.rar and P1010XWKC1_OXXKC1 to fix my bricked tab, but both require a password to extract the archives. Does anyone know the password? Has anyone had the same issue? I doubt it, otherwise i think it would have been addressed. Any help is appreciated.

do a quick search of the dev thread for EA24 and you should be able to find the original SPH-P100 files. then you can find the EB28 and EF17 updates as well to get all the way to the official GB release.

I have the T-Mobile version of this, but here's a guide and download files to recover your stock ROM. You can follow the entire guide if you want the Overcome ROM as well:
Guide:

Downloads:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=21
Good luck!
NOTE:
Sprint modem is not listed, but you can fix that later. If you can get it to work with this guide & using the last modem file, we can go from there.

[Q] Revolution V7 Gingerbreadupdate

OK, got the Revos Feb.2, kept trying to do the OTA update. 4 hours on the phone with CS & Tech. An hour at the Verizon store. No luck whatsoever. Now, I would like to post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337386 but as I need 10 posts to post in Development, I am here.
We are stuck on 2.2.2 Froyo & would like to do the update to Gingerbread, then root (have that down pretty well).
Being as the Multiupload site is inaccessible, I searched & found the LGNPST 1.2 & installed all 5 parts. Already had Drivers installed in anticipation of rooting.
1.The .DLL file I found elsewhere has a .7z extension ( not 7Zip ).
2.My .tot file for V7 Gingerbread must be corrupt, as I cannot extract it at all. (Downloading through Revo Wifi)
Does anyone have better site to download these files?
I feel I would do fine, so long as I could get these files.
Thank you all for any assistance & for all of the work that you have done to help Newb Revo owners like me...

I thank you tremendously !!! I think I remember seeing that before, but in my frenzy of 2 days of sheer frustration, I missed the note about not working on Firefox (which I obviously use). Thankyou Sooooo much & I'll let ya know how I do in the morning.
Ed
Not a problem! There's actually a work around that was found for Firefox (thanks to Cybie). Just right click on the link, then click "save as." That should get the download going.

I did it the right click way... Funny, I have seen pages come up like that & never knew why.
Now, when you uploaded it, was the file zipped? In the instruction post, it tells you to extract the file & I cannot seem to. When I compare the bytes, all looks fine. I downloaded it 2 times, just for insurance. Boy was it faster through you, than the fileshare site !!!
Again, thank you soooooo much !!!
Ed
You don't extract the tot file you leave it alone you just need to extract the lgnspt program and install everything then you make that folder to put the dll in and register the dll then follow the instructions throughout the process.

If you're having trouble getting the vs910.dll to install and keep getting the "Windows7 RegSvr32 Error 0x80020009" message then try this:
Start (Win Key) > type uac > ENTER
Pull slider down to Never notify > OK
Restart computer
try installing vs910.dll again
just make sure you go back and put the slider where it was after you are done upgrading the software on your phone. This worked for me and I'm running windows 7 64bit.

Well, been trying to get a tethering app to work right. After rooting, even the Verizon hotspot would not work. Tried Barnacle, Wifi tether & Open garden. Tried all the different settings & had it working for about 10 minutes.
Soooo I said what the heck, Gingervolted it & BOY is it fast. Still having issues with hotspots, but got Wifi tether v9 to work right now.... We'll see if it still works after a reset... Let's hope.
Does anyone have a stable hotspot app & settings they know of?
Again, thanks to all...
Ed
Well, I guess I'll just keep trying older versions of Wifi tether... v9 would not work after a reset.....
Ed
OK, got it all working after alot of studying... The problem I was having for an internet connection was the MTU settings of my wifi card in Winduhhz 7. Not sure what it's all about, but it is fully stable. Check out this site for checking & adjustment procedure. I ended up with a final setting of 1428 http://www.richard-slater.co.uk/archives/2009/10/23/change-your-mtu-under-vista-or-windows-7/
So, now the quest is to customize the phone the way I want it...

[GUIDE] How to Install Ice Cream Sandwich on your Rogers P925 (Or fix baseband issue)

Well, after a TON of work, and unsuccessful attempts at getting this, I finally was able to get signal and working data on my phone. I know some people had had trouble with the process, so I'm going to post my guide here to help you all out.
There are two parts to this tutorial. Only one is needed, however, to get ICS to properly work, so find the one that fits your current predicament AND ONLY USE THAT PART OF THE TUTORIAL.
If this is your first time installing the ICS rom...
Follow the LG flashing tool guide that XBSall has linked in his ICS Rom post. You can also find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490 . However, when you install the ROM, DO NOT USE THE .FLS FILE HE PROVIDES. Instead, download the v18A baseband and install that one with the .BIN file he provides. You can find the v18A baseband here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338383 I believe. After you flash the entire thing, you should have ICS! Easy!
If you have the ICS Rom installed now, but have no signal...
This is a bit more complicated, but still very easy. After I flashed ICS, I was not able to flash things using LGFlashTool like I could in GB. This is how I ended up flashing the baseband to fix my issues.
We need to set up your phone to connect with LGFlashTool first. To do this, use XBSall's restore to GB method, located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836 . You will need the OMAP4BOOT files, but you will need nothing else.
Follow his tutorial up until step 6. When he tells you to insert the battery, insert it AS FAST as you can. I messed up on the timing the first few times. Once I saw a greyscale LG logo, and a few other times it just booted normally. Just try again if this happens. Eventually you will get the screenshot in step 9. DO NOT remove the cable when OMAP4BOOT tells you to, as well.
Follow step 10 and 11 of XBSalls restore tutorial, and then follow step 12. When you set up LGFlashTool for the reflashing, simply select the v18A baseband to flash and then start the process. If done correctly, Port 1 should state READY. Repeat steps 3-9 in his tutorial. It will start the flashing process. Once you get an error, close the program, and remove your phones battery and disconnect it from your computer.
Turn on your phone, and receive signal. PROFIT.
Hope this helps you guys out a bit, and remember to hit thanks if this helped you.
you beat me to it lol I was just about to post steps just like this

And my phone isnt bricked, i can turn it on right now and everything.
EDIT: Found the problem, you need to hold VolUp after OMAP4430 pops up. Funny, it says in the guide to let go when it pops up. Fixed my mistake though.

Follow the second part of my tutorial to the T. If it still doesn't work, maybe I'll make a video or we can go on Teamviewer and I'll try to help you out.

not able to keep OMAP 44xx device connected
Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to get ICS installer on my rogers P925. I tried many times on two computers (both windows 7 one is 32bits other is 62bits) to flash the bin and fls files you are recommanding but it seems like even if my OMAP 4430 device driver is correctly installed via the program files texas instuments dll it seems it wont stay connected at all and just pop open and closed sometimes when it seems to want, and it makes the flashing procedure impossible to me any ideas?

XBSALL helped me out! It's finally working now! My problem was with the port. He got my phone rooted, changed USB port (I mistakenly was changing the wrong one), installed TWRP, put his ICS cleaned mod version on through TWRP zip install. It's all working now full bars of 3G!
help?
Finally got to flash ICS on phone but it was giving me errors everytime I wasn't using original baseband associated with .bin file. Now, I can't get it to boot in fastboot even using OMAP4boot I don't really understand when I need to insert fast the battery... OMAP4boot doesn't seem to get my phone...
You will always get errors as these are not full kdz files. If you are stuck at lg logo..try pull batt replace then hold vol- and power button til you see a factory reset screen do reset and boot..that made mine boot.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough, but my phone boots now, it's only I had to flash it with the O3D fls file and not the .fls I was supposed to use so I get a working ICS without any network.
Now that i'm trying to complete step 2 to get te right baseband, i can't get the phone to boot in download mode even using OMAP fasboot flash. the software just don't say anything appart from "waiting for phone".
So I was wondering if I was doing anything wrong

Finally download mode is quite simple to acess (discovered on my own searching for a recovery)
1- power, vol+ , 3d button pressed
2- on lg logo release power
3- after 2 seconds approx release 3d button
4- wait for the korean page indicating LG SERVICE and a phone
you should be in it!!
now i'm getting a curious RAM writing error while using this mode on lg flash tool

it's almost the 10th time I follow the guide step by step by step... I think or i'm always doing wrong something or it's something else with my phone... I may have misconfigured one port but i do NEVER NEVER at all in the process see OMAP4430 device in my device manager.. so the little windows tool is not doing anything... maybe if someone wanna teamviewer they can see for themselves what it gives.
Wahoo, ICS + network
finally found that there was the correct driver for my computer in the omap4boot folder and not in everyother one I was installing, flashed with the guide after i found this driver and everything works fine
only thing i'm struggling is to set apns to get 3G any tricks?
Do a Google search for AT&T 4G APN (or whoever our carrier is). You can also create an APN with the word "phone" in the first two blanks, name and APN (I think), and it should give you access to 3G and HSPA. I hit 6.7mbps on Speed Test.

AHD drops wifi on stock and custom ROMs

I have an AHD and I have had this problem for a while. When on stock or custom ROMs, the phone will suddenly drop the wifi connection. Sometimes, it will re-connect right away, other times, it takes a bit. Once it re-connects, it will either stay connected for a few minutes and drop again or it will connect and immediately drop it. It didn't bother me too much but it seems to be getting worse.
I'm running the latest Bell radio (mb886_bp_100740.071.65.61p).
Anyone else have this issue?
Edit: does the same thing with the latest retail Mexico radio too.

I'm not sure how much diggin you did or what you've read on this issue, but after about a half hour i found a thread that may help you. It seems to have helped others with this same issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469104&page=3
Then.... not sure if this will help your situation, but it's woth a shot. Wifi-fix.zip or something, I've used it before for a similar issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178123
Thanks for the links. The solutions offered don't help. I have WiFi, it just drops randomly at times.
I'll be putting the ahd away and switch to using my backup Samsung phone.
I have used the above fix for intermittent WiFi connectivity problems just like yours.

I just loaded the att radio from stock 4.1.1 ROM for testing. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again for your help.
Edit: The AT&T modem seems to have really helped. I surfed continuously for 40 minutes and it never dropped the wifi signal

Hello I am having the exactly same problem can you tell me how you solved this issue ?
Sent from my ATRIX HD using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Download the stock ATT 4.1.1 ROM and extract the file named NON-HLOS.BIN using 7zip.
1) install the adb/fastboot files to a single directory on my computer;
2) place the NON-HLOS.bin file in the adb/fastboot directory from step 1;
3) open a command prompt window as an administrator;
4) install the Motorola USB drivers and connect my booted phone with USB debugging enabled;
5) from the command line, type "adb reboot bootloader" and press the enter key to get my phone into AP Fastboot Flash mode;
6) from the command line, type "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin" and press enter; and
7) reboot the phone and check to made sure my baseband now says "QUINARA_BP_100740.081.65.05".
I have to say that it helped but the problem did reappear. I then decided to flash a complete stock ATT 4.1.1 ROM again, I ran the OTA update which updated the modem again, and wifi has been fine since the OTA update.

Not anymore. I gave up my ahd after Motorola ceased system upgrades for the phone. I was quite happy with it for a very long time. The roms were also quite good.
