Like it says in the title when I call the phone goes into sleep... pressing any button will not wake the phone... the only way I have found to wake the phone is by plugging in a headset into 3.5mm Jack or by plugging in the charger AFTER the call
I am currently on stock rom with everything stock... I have tried a data wipe yet the problem still persists
How can I fix this please help

Anyone ?? Or I'll just have to go back to froyo

If Froyo does not have the problem as opposed to Beta Gingerbread then its a clue but if it still has problem its either settings or hardware .

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
I restart my phone every few days (old habit from windows 6.5 days)
Sometimes the phone will boot up and I get nothing on any of the screens but I can still make calls and access the address book but nothing else works. Sometimes I have to restart the phone 2-3 times before everything comes back.
Is this a bug in the system?

Same here, not every time though. Home screens blank too. Running Froyo jp6.

Be worth trying a factory reset .

Same problem here. Did you try a factory reset and if so, did it help?
Hey guys I've been using CM7 for quite some time now and I wanted to switch to a different rom. But when I turned on usb storage my phone just restarts itself!
I did it 7 times and the same thing happened. And sometimes when I leave it there it restarts itself again.. repeatedly!
How do I fix this problem?
Change kernel to tiamat.

Thanks for the reply! But I found out it was a theme issue. So I switched back to original theme and got it working just fine
Received a few months old Note as a gift. Installed stock ICS through Kies and flashed a safe kernel + CWM (PhilZ kernel + CWM 6.0). Been using it for 2 days, and tonight when I played a MP3 through speakerphone, the sound completely disappeared midway through the song. I've tried changing the sound settings and rebooting the phone to no avail. Is the speakerphone dead?
whats happens when u call someone?
Normal calling is fine, but if I put it on speaker there's no sound.
Hey i think you should try a factory reset or get back to original rom

so that means the earpiece works fine and the speaker is dead.. could be a hardware issue as well.
yea as said above try doing a factory reset with CWM and check if that works.. if not. go back to stock rom (but dont wipe anything on that)
last resort : take to a phone shop and take advice.
Did a factory reset and still nothing. I suppose I'll call Samsung tomorrow to see how much they charge for a speakerphone replacement. This phone was my dad's and he lives overseas so I won't be able to repair it under warranty here
If I were to send it to Samsung for repair, I'll need to flash the stock ICS kernel back right?
any ways if its not under warranty so if i were samsung i wouldnt care but not sure how real samsung ppl will react.
its ur decision if u want stock kernel or not.. there is a thread from Dr ketan and has all the stock kernels on it
I switched the phone off and left it to charge overnight. When I switched it back on this morning the sound came back. Pretty confused now.
how did that happen... is that symptoms of a loose assembly

It's because the inconsistency voltage of the power supply. Plug into another socket. If problem is still exist, then it is most probably the charger problem.

Its neither the problem of charger not the problem of socket. Its the problem of the Samsung ROM generally Indian ROM. When I was on stock ROM my phone use to behave in a very ridiculous way even when I connect it with my PC.
Now I use custom made ROM this problem is gone.
Use any custom ROM your problem will be gone forever.

I have only.proplem with left headphone
I tried the volume.balance nothing chamged

Rooted android?
What rom?
Does that rom come with DSP manager?
If everythings stock try the volume settings. If none of that works try another media player (vlc) to see if those settings differ from your (stock¿) media player.
If everything fails just do a factory reset.

Am using any headphones but.on external pseakers it works fine
I dont believe the phone detects the difference between earplugs and speakers. Have you tried other earplugs?
When u switched to another rom, did u do a full wipe? Id suggest u do so that all the old settings are gone.
If that doesnt work ita prolly a hardware prob.
