Hey guys I've been using CM7 for quite some time now and I wanted to switch to a different rom. But when I turned on usb storage my phone just restarts itself!
I did it 7 times and the same thing happened. And sometimes when I leave it there it restarts itself again.. repeatedly!
How do I fix this problem?
Change kernel to tiamat.

Thanks for the reply! But I found out it was a theme issue. So I switched back to original theme and got it working just fine

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
I restart my phone every few days (old habit from windows 6.5 days)
Sometimes the phone will boot up and I get nothing on any of the screens but I can still make calls and access the address book but nothing else works. Sometimes I have to restart the phone 2-3 times before everything comes back.
Is this a bug in the system?

Be worth trying a factory reset .

Same problem here. Did you try a factory reset and if so, did it help?
Hey guys, Sorry for obviously reposting but I just wanted a straight answer to this.
I had CM7 RC1 Loaded on the nook, I'm pretty sure I was still 1.1 Stock too. Well, I charged my nook to 100% one night, woke up the next morning and it will not turn on at all. I tried holding every button scheme, Power Button = 1 minute / Power Vol+ and N for a minute. It isn't responding to anything. Just a plain black screen, no power on the LCD at all.
Sooo, I read that I could try using a CWM SDCard to see if it boots, I'm going to try that but I need help finding the SD boot image.
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Can I save it? Is it garbage? or Do you think I could go through warrenty even though I obviously rooted/CM7'd it...
Thank you so much <3
Have you tried turning it on while it is plugged in?
Sent from my LG Optimus V using Tapatalk
yup... I let it charge turned it on, and nothing.. and now i've left it alone for like 4-5 days... still nothing.
Are you able to connect via ADB at all?
Sent from my LG Optimus V using Tapatalk
I think you need to flash a SD card CWM, then flash back to stock. Hopefully that will get you running. Also flash the 1gb 3.2.0.1 CWM so you can use any SD card

Solved, After I left it for 4 days... It just turned itself back on... :\ - TY XDA <3!
Hello,
Wondering if anyone can help me.
My phone started rebooting it self recently. So i took out the battery for a few minutes and put it back in and then the phone did not turn on at all. And then when I connected my phone to the charger the amber light would come on but it would stay on when taken off the charger and not go off again.
Sometimes the phone starts up and then after a while the same problem occurs again. And the wired thing is that when I have this issue the computer will not recognise the phone. But when it starts up like it should I can communicate with my phone using ADB and Fastboot.
Anyone had any similar problems? Any solution?
Do u have a new ota update before it?

Hi every one this is my first post and was wondering if anyone has had this problem come up.
My wife has the I9000 and a couple months ago it started to show this problem of everytime the phone is in standby the screen keeps coming on or about a second or to then goes off for about a second the then on and it will keep doing this till it runs the battery down.
I have tried to do a complete ROM install fresh and factory resets and custom roms and the phone still keeps doing it. is there anything i can do or is the phone beyond fixing unless i take it apart??
Thanks
Andy
Hi,
This sometimes happens to me also. Reflashing does not seem to help.
The one thing that seemed to do any difference was to turn off the device, remove battery, sim card and SD card. Then plug them all back in and start the phone.
This sometimes worked or at least minimized the number of problems, but not a permanent solution.
Although your problem could be something completelly diferent.
No arm in trying this suggestion
Hi thanks for the reply.
I havd tried that. Atp the moment it has no sc card or sim card as she got a galaxy mini to use for moment and it still dose the same thing.
It is quite anoying as ya have to have it plugged into charge all time as batt drains really quickly.

One possibility is a hardware problem. Maybe one of your phone's buttons (home, power, or volume) is grounded and keep on contacting.
Another possibility is a program that is running automatically. If you're on ICS or JB, you can check your running apps in Settings/Apps/Running and see if there is a running app that can be stopped without affecting the system...
Just a suggestion.
is there a known solution for the "screen-turning-on-problem"?
friend of me has the same problem with non-rooted galaxy s+
The phone is on stock gb fresh install.
Might have to try and open it and see if anything wrong.

Hei guys !
I have a htc one with unlocked bootloader and s-off.
Yesterday my phone started to experience some trouble with the wi-fi connections. When i turn on the wi-fi it remains stuck on "turning on" and i can't turn it off anymore. I tried to more options by clicking on the 3 dots in the right corner but no succes..all options but "Advanced" are greyed out.
I already tried to flash a custom rom (Viper rom) and reflashed stock ruu and the problem persisted.
Any of you experienced similar problems?
I had that problem on another type of phone. It was hardware. You've already factory reset and changed the OS. The only other thing I can think of is to pull the battery (and you probably don't want to do this yourself). Good luck. I would send the phone in for warranty repair, if you can.
Unfortunately i can't rma the handset for repair because it was bought second hand.
I thought maybe it was another way to resolve this issue.. I found it odd because while i was using the device over the wifi connection it just disconnected and would not connect back on. No other glitch , fireworks or nothing..
Same problem here,
it suddenly stopt working.
it trying to connect and stays there.
reboot is fixing it for a few minutes and problem is there
again.
i have the problem on multiple networks.
new firmware flashing didnt help,
new OS didnt help,
new Recovery didnt help...
I have the same exact problem.
It did turn on randomly one night after restoring a back up. Stayed on all night, gone in the morning.

Im on ViperOne and the problem is still there.
I Wil go back to stock soon and try if that helps. Don't think it will cause I think it's hardware related. But have to go stock when I want it to sent in for warranty.

I bought a brand new second One M7 and flashed a backup from the "old" one. WiFi is working.
Running ARHD with experimental 14.11 I did a factory reset within TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery on the "old" One and until now WiFi is already working for a day.
I thought it was hardware related but why is the "old" One working again....
And why is the new One has working WiFi with the exact same copy of OS....
Strange
Edit,
The "old" One WiFi stopt working.
Suddenly it was gone.
Going back to stock with that one and sent it in for repair.

After a lot of sending and receiving, the phone stayed at HTC and they sent me an m8 for the inconvenience...
Ok. So I can't tell u guys what the problem was.
Hola, I seem to have a similar issue to the OP. After flashing a 5.1 GPE ROM, wifi never worked again.
I tried different ROMs, different TWRP, different firmwares, and even reformated partitions using mkfs.ext4. Wifi still stuck at "Turning on..."
Do you guys have any ideas? Thank youuuu!
Try going to the root folders and delete the wifi folder from data/misc then restart the phone. Might work.
After running the command below on Maximus HD 46, I was able to turn on WiFi, but the connection would be unstable, with the adapter often turning off and on.
Code:
su
restorecon -FR /data/media/0

I tried removing wpa_supplicant.conf. Tried removing the entire folder, connection still resetting randomly.
How I fixed this issue.

Hello. I have created an account here just to share how I fixed this problem because I couldn't find that solution posted on any forum. It might be helpful for someone, but also I might have been the one that caused the issue in the first place. I have a rooted HTC One M7 running 5.0.2.
So, the "Turning on..." for me occured once my phone's battery completely drained. I have plugged the phone in the charger and it displayed 0%. Once the charge level reached 1% I turned on the phone and almost immediatelly turned mobile data off and wifi on. It was then when it got stuck. I have tried almost all the accepted solutions and none of them worked. As I didn't have time to keep trying to solve the issue I left the phone as it was, not trying to connect anymore but saying "Error" under Wifi in Settings.
I thought about what might have caused this and remembered that I have recently tried to use my phone as a wifi extender using the app called "fqrouter2". Within the app there is an option in configuration "Disable Wifi P2P" that should be, as recommended by the app, disabled if the app failed to work. I have, of course, tried it but it didn't work anyway. I have uninstalled the app and that was it. Wifi worked fine until my phone died. So I decided to reinstall the app and try the "Restore Wifi P2P" option. After restoring it I uninstalled the app and power cycled my phone. When it turned on wifi started working again as if nothing ever happened.
As I said, I might have been the cause of the problem in the first place and I doubt somebody had the exact same situation as mine, but I'll leave this here, just in case. Cheers
