hey guys, i'm a newbie when it comes to smartphones... just started using 1... erm i have recently bought a lg O2x and.. it comes with a vodafone software-branding(yeap, i've asked the seller, he said that the phone is sim and net-unlocked )...so i am actually using an O2 sim in it .. i can make calls and sms with it ... but somehow, i just cant connect to internet with it... does this problem has something to do with the software branding? If it does have something to do with the software branding... can i do something about it? i mean like, delete the branding with a process which i heard, called "rooting" ?
Thank you for your help in advance...
It might be that the branded ROM is missing the necessary APN for O2. You can either add it yourself manaually, or flash a new ROM that has it built in.
O2 settings are:

APN: mobile.o2.co.uk

Username: web

MMSC: *LEAVE BLANK*

Just add an apn by yourself.

These settings are for GERMAN customers
Leave the rest untouched.

Hi, I recently flashed my phone to jm5, coming from the orange jf3. The only thing I haven't been able to get working properly is mobile net. I can browse on games but 3g is a no go. I also seen to have trouble receiving mms. Could someone kind soul, who is on stock orange firmware post the settings as they appear on their phone?
Note: I have browsed the net for settings and entered them correctly but to no joy.

So I just unlocked my Rogers Captivate i896 using SGS unlock pro and I'm using it on Telus but 3g doesn't work. I have it enabled but the 3g data network icon doesn't show in the notification bar. Can anyone help?

Do you have an APN configured? If not, you'll need to add one. I had the same problem myself after flashing a rom last night. I just manually added the APN and off I went.
You can find it under Settings->Wireless and Network->Mobile Network Settings->Access Point Names.
This is the Telus APN from what I can see (on Rogers myself so can't confirm):
Name: TELUS SP
APN: sp.telus.com
Proxy: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set

MMS Proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS Port: 80
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 302

APN type: default,mms
you'll need to pre-pend h t t p : / / (no spaces) to the MMSC setting. The forum wouldn't let me post an outside URL

No worries. Glad it worked out
Im not sure if anyone has been experiencing this issue, but i have.

I received a N7000 yesterday and was working to get it set up on my AT&T plan. I have it making and placing phone calls, on the web, and sending and receiving text messages.
I cannot however get it to receive MMS.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction?
I have tried various APN settings with no luck. Your help is greatly appreciated!
I have tried much of the info in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437805&page=20
I am still looking for the fix.
Got it .. please disregard
