Barnes & Noble registration servers appear to be unavailable - Nook Color General

It appears that the registration server is unavailable due to maintenance and will be up later.
It figures, I just restored to 1.0.1 to prepare for the 1.2.0 update and now BN throws a wrench into the works.

My rooted Nook still allows me to buy and download books from B&N -- I just cant use the special in-store features. What exactly is failing on yours?
Sent from my Nooted friend...
keeps telling me i need to put in my credit card info on the barnes and nobles site. I have done this. its there in my account settings. but the store isnt picking it up.
How do I see were I configured my inital account to see witvh one i used or change it to the one with the card?
It most likely has nothing to do with your nook being rooted. Your credit card was probably just entered in wrong on the B&N website. Try re-entering it on there. Verify that you have a valid US billing address as well, and that the card is selected as the default card. If it is still not working, call 1 (800) THE-BOOK and they can tell you what is wrong.

[Q] Honeycomb and App License issues

I have the latest Honeycomb build installed directly on my NC and it is running great. The only major issue I have seen deal with paid apps being unable to communicate with the Google license server. It appears as though, when the app attempts to verify it's license before startup, that the NC does not allow the request to pass through it's WiFi connection. Since the app cannot verify it's license, the app will not run. Has anyone encountered this? Surely there must be a simple tweak to allow the apps to access the internet! Thanks!

[Q] Nook for Android App Support for Newspapers?

I am running the latest version of CM7 (v143 I think) and I am having problems with the Nook for Android application. It allows me to "purchase" newspapers like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, but when I go to download them, I get an error message from the application: "File type not supported". On the other hand, I am able to download books and a purchased copy of the Economist worked properly as well.
According to B&N website, I "believe" these newspapers should be supported, but not sure why I can't download them. I've tried to uninstall/reboot/reinstall the application but did not help. I have also verified I'm running the latest version of the B&N app.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
You are not the only one, m8

Its all depends on if the newspaper or magazine you are reading supports non nook color devices to be used in reading said content. Remember Barnes and noble considere anyone using the nook app to be not a nook color user. If you look on the web page hosted on bn.com of your mag or newspaper you will see which mag or newspaper supports what format. This is all do to license agreements.

Upgraded my Note 5 N920i to MM and Google play store/Google Apps won't sync/download

So this morning I got a notification that my Note 5 (N920I) was finally ready for the Android 6.0 upgrade that Samsung promised months ago. Great. Finally I could get in on some of the upgrades.
I put my device on to charge and allowed it to complete the update process. Everything seemed to be going well after the upgrade until I was hit with a barrage of errors. Every single App failed to update through the Google Play Store without exception (error 495). Then, I got errors telling me that Chrome, Maps, Wallet, etc. would not run properly until I updated my Google Services. Fine. I went to update that and, just like every other app, it too failed to update.
I then went online for the next 4-5 hours and employed every single suggestion I could find, within reason. To summarize my attempts, I have done the following:
- Cleared the cache/data of Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Services Framework, Download Manager, the Google App.
- Removed then added my Google account to my device.
- Changing my DNS settings from DHCP to Static and adding 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4 as per a known solution to a similar problem.
- Connected my phone to my computer to try and search for the smdl2tmp1.asec file as per a known solution.
- Switching WiFi networks from my home location to Starbucks, then Barnes & Noble, then Best Buy.
- Switching to Data/4g
- Updating the time/date in my device as per Google's known solution.
- Uninstalled Updates to the play store and Google Services (Now I am just stuck with an old app store.)
- Checked for further system updates.
- Ensured Download Manager was still enabled.
At this point I am at a complete loss. This is the first time in my life that I've run up against a problem so ridiculous, yet so persistent, and been unable to solve it. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset.
My device is a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 N920I International Version running android 6.0.1 and is not rooted, nor has the knox ever been tripped. Firmware build is MMB29K.N920IDVU2BPD3.
I'm grateful for anyone that can provide any insight/help with this.

Your Fire tablet was registered to your Amazon account that you steal your personal information and make a greater risk to security threats.
Try it to reset your Fire tablet to factory defaults (backup your valuable files before you reset your Fire tablet), bypass Amazon account registration by entering an invalid email address and password, and re-install Google apps.
