High Quality BIOS Boot Animation (Portrait) - Dell Streak 7

Hi Everybody!
This is my mod of FRY's BIOS boot animation for the Dell Streak 7.
Let me know what you think!
I mostly use Portrait mode on my Streak 7 (easier typing, plus SPB Shell 3D only works in Portrait), so that's how I have it formatted, but if there's interest I'll do a Landscape version too.
Mirrored at MediaFire:

The standard install applies. Backup your stock animation, rename this file to "bootanimation.zip" and then use ADB push or Root Explorer to put the file in /data/local/

Nice
Love the boot screen

Thanks!
Although, most of the hard work was done by forum member FRY, as he created the original. I only made some modifications and enhancements to his great work to make it relevant to the Streak 7.
It was actually my first time, but I'm looking forward to more.

Looks good. Thanks.

I would like to try landscape if you can..I'm bored

New bootanimatin.zip replaced original
running CM9 ICS - alhpa 2, I tried to change HD boot animation.
After moboot loads I get CM logo loading and now I do not have any ICS boot animation - the screen goes blank and then I after a few seconds I arrive at opening screen of CM9 alpha2 and I am able to unlock and use HP tablet just fine. Any help on what I can do to recover boot animation,
i have placed bootanimation.zip in system/media folder - booted w/no luck on animation then deleted it from that folder and then and I placed it in data/local folder no help no boot animation. I have tried boot animation changer without any luck. Thank you for your help.
permissions???, mounted r/o still did not work???

I am in the process of installing a dock into my dashboard and will be using the streak 7 as my head unit in my car.
I would very much appreciate a landscape version as that is how my streak will reside in the dash.
I love the bios boot animation and love that someone modified it to suit the streak!

still hoping to hear back on weather or not this will be made in a landscape version?
Please and thank you.

I've actually sold off my Streak 7 some time ago, but I will try and get the landscape version done next week.

HoneyComb Bee Boot Animation

Since I unlocked and rooted lets get the fun started. I made a nice simple boot animation for the Xoom. Need root to drop in data/local or system/media. I just renamed the boot in system/media to .bak and dropped in the new one. Enjoy!

Definitely less trippy than the original
the original animation gets pixelated in the fast motion parts, this is definitely more clean.
do you think you could make the wings flap?
It'd be awesome if it was possible to add sounds to boot animations. Buzzzzzzzz.
The Motorola logo seemed to be on the screen for a lot longer than normal. Is it always like that with custom boot screens?
I made 3 high res boot animations and posted at xoom forums but can't get them to play. I have them in system/media and changed permissions but no go. They are zipped to root with only part0 folder and desc doc but no luck. Any suggestions? How did u get urs going and how many pngs is it?

Sound would be awesome. Hmmmmm Ill try it out. Also not sure why the logo is up for so long. It stated after I rooted I think.
Guys the problem with the boot animations is they must be uncompressed. When zipping be sure to use store only mode.

Great resource, thanks for linking.
Are they all compatible??

Do you need to be rooted to install and use these? When downloading the links, they are saving to my phone as bin files, and dont install.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Only download the .apk files, they can be installed even if you aren't rooted. Just install the apk and then go to personalize then skins and select your download

These skins do work with the Thunderbolt.
I take no credit for this, nor responsibility. All skins came from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 I simply packaged them up nice and tidy.
I made a windows .bat file to use adb to install all the ones I was able to find from that thread
unzip this file, connect your phone via USB and double click InstallSkins.bat
enjoy ^^

I don't think they will change just by changing the skin. That requires editing the framework-res.apk as far as I know.
The only problem I am having with these is there seems to be a bug when in the car dock which puts the screen in Landscape mode. If I choose a custom skin from one of the Desire's it works until the car dock puts it in landscape then it either reverts to a stock htc skin or it puts a random custom skin on until you rotate the phone to portrait mode. Can this be fixed by someone? I really like these but they don't work very well in the dock.
Edit: I thought it used a random Custom skin once but it turns out it was a stock hTC so yea none of thses skins work in Landscape with the car dock.

Check out Gadget's skins, they support landscape, I believe the current ones linked do not.
Thanks, I did download one of his. I like all of his but there is one out of these on this post I'm partial to. I asked gadget in an off cuff way if he could fix one. I'm currently going with the Uber Green one. If people don't have a car dock then they wont know there is anything wrong. It only affects those that do use the car dock.

[Boot animation] android destroys apple.

Haven't seen this posted in our part of the forums so I figured I'd post it.
**disclaimer** this is NOT my work and I take no credit for any of it. Credit goes to the maker of the video and any collaborators he had.

Installation instructions:
Step 1: download the animation
Step 2: find the boot animation in your download folder using root explorer. Sdcard>download>bootanimation.zip
Step 3: move the bootanimation.zip to system>media in root explorer.
Step 4: reboot and enjoy
Also the video makes the animation seem a little laggy at times but rest assured this runs perfect on our nexus S's

Anyway to extend the time a bootanimation plays? Got to where the android head is in place and my lockscreen comes up.

I have a custom boot animation on my Nexus S 4g but I am wondering if anyone knows where I have to place the mp3 file to enable sound with the boot animation. It was easy on my Evo but cant figure it out on the Nexus yet.

It might be in system/media/audio. It has to be a .ogg file not a .mp3 file though.

Ive been saving these on my sd so i only have to paste the zip to the data/local folder. The bat1.zip said it was like 33 meg though. Might want to look at that. Bat2 was cool. Im sticking with prime so far though. You have a nack for these boot animations
i cut the animation in half and went with jpeg this time png makes larger size Im going to cut down on the eye animation next ... yeah makes a big difference in boot time being smaller...
Cool..........
Batman one is sweet lol

[BOOT] Nexus PRIME'd Boot Animations (UPDATED 10.25.11)

Nexus PRIME'd - Boot Animations
Haven't seen this in our forums yet, so here it is...Nexus Prime boot animation, optimized with .png's
I will probably end up having some fun with this somehow so I'll likely be adding more alternative versions...stay tuned...
AS ALWAYS...
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE AS A RESULT OF USING THIS CONTENT, JUST AS IT IS NO ONE ELSES FAULT FOR ANY DAMAGE I MIGHT DO TO MINE. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE RISKS INVOLVED, YA MIGHT JUST BE BETTER OFF STICKING WITH STOCK. It's not that complicated, just do a little research. Plenty of knowledge floating around XDA...
Simple enough:
1:: download the .zip
2:: rename it (using ES File Explorer or Astro or any ROOT EXPLORER that will allow you to MOUNT SYSTEM AS WRITABLE) by simply cutting out the description so that it is just bootanimation.zip
3:: copy or cut the bootanimation.zip and paste it in the system/media folder
4:: you will be warned that the merge will overwrite the existing file and that the world will end (not really, just accept the merge)
REBOOT
...don't be afraid to use the "THANKS" button...
