I am using an i9000 theme that has not been ported over to the captivate but works just fine; however, I'd like to change "favourites" in the dialer to "favorites". Can anyone let me know which file in the apk I need to modify?

Here you go. Thanks.
i got an error on compiling. i forgot about the whole theming thing screwing up compiling. is this dialer from 2.2, 2.2.1, or 2.3?
2.3.3
Sent from my Samsung Captivate
here is something i did real quick. i dont have anything to test it on right now, so have the old apk on hand if this one didnt work.
if it doesnt work, i will work on it later tonight and test on a phone
Thanks a bunch! Looks to be working fine. Was it just one file you had to change? If so would I be able to copy the file to other themed dialers to change the spelling?

I actually pulled a stock 2.3.3 from jv1 or jvb can't remember. Edited /res/values/strings.xml, compiled it then dropped in all the themed images

Can someone please post the apk for the new beach live wallpaper on the froyo release? I downloaded it and tried to get inside the exe to find it myself but couldn't. I don't plan on flashing this rom just yet so I was wondering if someone could help me out.
Thanks
I pulled it from my build and posted it on my FTP site:

Thanks! Hope this works for you!

Sorry mate.
Might be a bad upload/download.
I'm keep getting FC when I try to set it as wallpaper.
Tried on LauncherPRO, ADWLauncher, and TouchWiz.
Thanks for the upload though.

Will this only work on 2.2? I'm trying to get this to work on my fascinate but after looking in assets/properties.text, I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
It force closes on me too. Thanks anyway h8rift. I appreciate you uploading it.
It wouldn't surprise me if you must have Froyo to run this live wallpaper. There's not a reason for it, but it might be signed or something for 2.2 only. Sorry
Is there a way to get this to work with 2.1? Really want this wallpaper.
i tried this on my 2.1 captivate, 2.1 dell streak, and 2.2 nexus one and they all crash.
@h8rift
there should be an odex file in the same directory as the apk file. can you please post the odex file as well?
any experts out there have any solution to get it running on 2.1 ?
Luv this livewallpaper a lot
tried on droid incredible, FC
would love to have this wallpaper
Ill pull it and post it tomorrow. Looked for a .odex file originally, didn't think I saw one. I'll look again tomorrow
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I checked again, no .odex file :/. All the other live wallpapers i have include .odex files, but this one does not.
Sorry .
Well, thanks for checking.
Just upgrade mine to leaked 2.2(JI6) and it works.
Guess this only runs from froyo.

i have a G2 and 2.2 still now working.?
How do I install this? I've only installed live wallpapers using droid explorer, and they have always been .apk files.
Vibrant
The wallpaper works on my vibrant thats using a flashed 2.2 rom the first time I tried it forced closed so I unistalled it and redownloaded it and been workin ever since thanks I lov the wallpaper
yeah it appears to only work on froyo samsung devices as far as I can tell
still doesn't work on my dinc

Yeah, was hoping not to flash again lol. I have tried placing other framework battery icons into a different framework. Sometimes I get success and sometimes they either don't show up or they cause crazy FCs... do you have any idea why?

yea bc you have to flash changes to the framework or use a metamorph style file. find a theme flash or metamorph. dump it. delete all the files except the frame work. now in the framework open the res folder then delete all the other folder except drawable-hdpi. now input ONLY the batt images you want with the correct file names. re compile and flash or meta apply

You will need the original xml files from ji6 framework too inside framework-res/res/drawable:
stat_sys_battery_charge.xml
stat_sys_battery.xml
zzz_stat_sys_battery_1.xml
Some MOD put it on there ROMs, like cyan.. I however have Sparks new 1.6.1 w/ Black Chrome.. It still uses the regular keyboard though.. Wondering if anyone has the new gingerbread keyboard.. And if they provide a like to it, as a APK file, so I can just add it to the other keyboards I have in my G1..

you should also mention, that this .zip only works with clockwork recovery because it isn't signed.
but look at this: cyanogenmod-board at post #5110
there is a flashable, signed .zip-file posted
worked for me perfectly

I'm a beginner at this, but if you can pull the /assets/keyboards folder out of the apk by using winrar or 7-zip, and you have something like photoshop or illustrator, etc, then you can go bonkers with the image files in there.
when you are done editing it then shove it back in the appropriate place in the apk.
Note that I am not on CM7, but I *think* it should be the same...?

Cool! Let me know if you have a way of changing the trace color. I've got that question posted in other threads, but while I'm doing my own reading, can't hurt to ask too many people, too.

Not sure what to tell you except that I modified a working swype from a custom rom and the theme stock after reboot.
Did you modify a beta swype directly? I'm not sure if that would even have been the problem, but had to ask.

i modified the new version the one that you need to install the swype installer and then through that app you get swype, that swype isnt in system/app, is in data/app

I don't even know if this will work. For all I know it could mess things up, big warning there.
Could you try to move that to /system/app and rename as Swype.apk (if it hasn't been done already --- not even sure that's necessary)?
...or even better...grap the Swype.apk and libSwypeCore.so file from a working custom ROM and use those and drop your own keyboard images on that one. That's what I did and it works for sure.
EDIT: Gonna be slow in responding for a bit. Getting dragged out of the house to Home Depot. Uggghhhh.
In order to theme the swype tail, you need to decomplie the apk. Then you edit res/values/colors. You will see
color name="TRACE_PATH_COLOR">#xxxxxx</color>

If you downloaded Swype from the web page and installed it with their installer, then it'll be installed here:

Hey guys,
Little present for you, the HTC Facebook Chat widget and corresponding .odex file in this little .7z file attached.
I wasn't sure if I should deodex it or not, to decided not to, to be safe.

The .odex file goes in the same folder as the widget, ie. apps
I can deodex if you want, but will do it later on, I'm totally shattered currently.
I was thinking someone would implement it into a ROM. Not sure how well all this works.
Forgive me, not had much sleep!
This looks genius, can't wait to see this get picked up by devs. Legen.........
wait for it
