I have had similar problem, not with Dynamic ROM, but the problem was the same. The problem was the overclock, I was using winno overclocked to 652 Mhz. When I went back to tha original frequency Haret worked as always.

yep, overclocked winmo causes haret to freeze. always set it to 528 mhz before booting android, no matter which oc-app you use.
dynamics 2.1 is overclocked by default, ultrashot explained it in his thread and how to set standard frequency.

So what should he change(please tell the correct lines) and what should he type there?
The same problem for me, tried changing frequency but i don't know if i'm doing it correctly.

On the Dynamics 2.1 he says:
Overclock may be disabled by resetting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ultrashot\Overclock\IsEnabled value.
Also you may notice that integrated Android Launcher disables active overclock, so you may use any overclock tools without need of manual disabling.
Overlock may be disabled via \Application Data\OC_disable.lnk as well.
I use WinMO Energy ROM which is not overclocked by default, to overclock it, and of course to go back, I use WiMoSpeed_V1.06.

Thank you it worked, all i had to do was to install the WiMoSpeed_V1.06 and set it to default but its better to change the registry with any registry editing software so that the Clock speed changes to default permanently

The line: ''acpuclock.oc_freq_khz''. It's probably set to 652 MHz, so it looks something like this: ''acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=652000''. So if you want 600 MHz, type: ''acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=600000'' or anything you want (in KHz!) If you don't have that line, then it's not overclocked.

Performance Boosts?

I've been reading around but haven't been able to find
Many things to speed up my phone.
Are there any other things I can try besides setcpu
Autokiller and overclock kernels (make my phone crash even at 595mhz)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
HtcDream
Cyan5.0.7 stable (swap disabled through swapper 2 app)
Hykuro spl
Latest radio
My config
Here is my configuration, it's pretty fast :
Own compiled CM-kernel with:
- OC up to 614MHz (595MHz appears to be the best)
- BFS 318 (boosts up the system)
I currently have two issues with it:
- Sometimes, bootanimation is displayed twice (I'm investigating on this)
- When activating Compcache from SpareParts, a kernel panic occurs (but compcache works normally after the reboot)
Compcache activated
No Swap
NO AutoKiller, TaskKillers, etc.
Here is a flashable update.zip you can try.

what exactly is this zip??
I'm having the same problem.
I just upgraded to CM-5.0.7-DS and right after flashing the ROM (after Wipe) I noticed my HTC Dream was faster than before, but after restoring my data through MyBackup Pro I noticed that I was once again experiencing sluggish and slow performance.
I wouldn't blame MyBackup Pro, because if I didn't do the restore, I would have manually gone ahead and setup the phone with the same Home apps, data and settings that it already had.
I use pershoot's undervolted-overclocked kernel. I use the latest setcpu always. I make the max 576 mhz and the min. 122 mhz. I set it on boot and put the CPU governor on "ondemand". I did not put any profiles and did not mess with the advanced options.
Then I use 32 mb swap, and compcache. I use the launcher known as "LauncherPro" (on the market, it is free). I use Apps2SD but all the big, heavy apps I use everyday are on my internal memory and everything else is on the ext4 partition.
I am using the ROM SuperBad v1.3 (a modded version of Cyanogen 5.0.7 but still basically the same thing.) You can flash SuperBad over Cyanogen without wiping.
I use a class 2 sdcard and my phone is SOOOOO FAST!!!!111!111!!!1!

I never liked MyBackup Pro. It messed up my phone so much that I had to wipe and restart. Use Titanium backup to backup and when you have to restore DO NOT RESTORE ANY OF THE DATA OR YOUR HOMESCREEN.
Or just do the old fashion setting the ROM back up routine. It may take longer but the ROM is much faster that way.
does anybody know how to enable jit?

Over on Cyanogen's forums there is a zip that makes it so you can type jit-on and jit-off.
Trust me you don't want it. There is a reason it was left out.

[GUIDE] Installing CM7 nightly, GPS FIX *Update 7/30*, Kernels, and Camera app

For those STILL having GPS problems after trying to fix, go to bottom of post!! Included is a pic of a lock I was getting indoors with 17ft. accuracy.
So i've seen alot of people asking questions constantly about installing CM7, what is required to do so, and how to install all the fixes and different kernels. I'm hoping that by putting this thread up it will help anyone with questions so it will make installation and modification a breeze.
So first... You're going to need to pick up the latest nightly of CyanogenMod 7.
Here is the link to the thread on our forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061889
and here is a direct link to download the latest nightly:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=vibrantmtd
Currently the latest nightly is #69. (if you are curious to know what is changed in each nightly here is a link to the changelog: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=vibrantmtd )
Copy the file to your internal sd card, then reboot into CWM. (If you don't have ClockworkMod installed, go to the market and download ROM Manager, then once installed open the program and install ClockworkMod Recovery for Vibrant MTD.
Once in CWM, just flash the zip file as you normally would anything else (go to Install ZIP from sd card, then choose ZIP and find the file, then hit yes to update)
Once done you should have successfully installed CM7, reboot and wait for the phone to load up.
At this point the install is done, and you can enjoy CM7, but unfortunatly your GPS won't work and battery life will be horrible... so now you must install the fixes.
First, download the Kernel. You can use either Bali-X found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181167
or Glitch, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041532
For The Glitch Kernel there are 3 different versions. LL, ML, or HL. To be on the safe side HL is usually the most stable for people.
Download whichever kernel you please and also copy that to your phones internal sd card.
Next download the Kernel Cleaning Script, direct link to download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=628968&d=1308402560
Now after you've downloaded the kernel you wanted and the cleaning script, your also going to want the GPS fix, direct link to thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172428
First lets fix the GPS before applying the kernel, here is a quick step by step:
GPS Fix! Update 7/30
Download the GPSFIX2.ZIP file and GPSD.ZIP file located at the bottom of my post (Make sure you unzip the file) and copy it to your SD card
2)Download a root file explorer like Root Explorer (not free) or ES File Explorer (free) in the market. If you use ES File explorer you must do the following to be able to change the system files:
FOR THOSE USING ES FILE EXPLORER
Open up ES File Explorer, in there hit your Menu key, then go to Settings.
Scroll down to till you see "Root Settings".
Under there you will see Root Explorer and Mount File System, check both of them, then hit the back button.
4)Once in the file manager, go to your root directory then go here: (if you know how to use file explorer or ADB you can simply copy the files to the corresponding locations and restart the phone if not keep following)
Go to the GPSFix2 folder on your SD card, then go to /data/gps/ and copy secgps file
Now go to to your phones root directory, and go to /data/gps and paste the secgps file in there
5)Now there are two other files to copy:
Go to the GPSFIX2 folder, then go to /system/bin/ and copy the AGPSD file
Go to the phones root directory and go to /system/bin/ and paste the AGPSD file in that directory
Lastly, go back to the GPSFIX2 folder, and go into /system/etc/ and copy the GPS file
Go to the phones root directory again, and go to /system/etc/ and paste the GPS file in there!
6)Now we need to copy the file from GPSD.ZIP (Make sure to unzip the file!!)
Copy the file from the GPSD folder, into: \system\vendor\bin\ the same way you did the other GPS Fix files.
7)Download AngryGPS file located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=657133&d=1310879457
8) Install ANGRYGPS.APK, once installed go to your apps and open up AngryGPS. Go to:
Settings - General Settings - Change Operation Mode from MSBASED to STANDALONE. Once done, hit the home key.
As long as you've copied all the files, restart your phone and try things out!
Now your GPS should be working, but we still need to install the new kernel. Hopefully you've downloaded one of the two kernels listed above and copied them to your internal zip folder.
Finally, lets apply the kernel. Hold your power key and hit reboot phone, then a menu will appear, to either reboot or recovery, hit recovery (duh!).
Once in recovery you are going to want to apply the Kernel Cleaner script first. Go to apply update from zip, then choose zip file, then choose the kernel cleaner script... Once you've done that, go to choose zip again, and choose your kernel. DO NOT REBOOT INBETWEEN THIS PROCESS!!!!!
Let the kernel install, once done go ahead and reboot the phone.
If all went well within about 5 minutes your phone should be up and running again.
The last thing your going to need to do is install GAPPS, since CM7 obviously comes with none. You'll notice you have no market.
Here is the latest GAPPS, The zip is a flashable file through ClockWorkMod. Just go into clockwork, and find zip and install it like you did the rom and kernel. Reboot and you will have your market and GApps back.
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
OVERCLOCKING AND UNDERVOLTING
You have to follow the instructions for either Glitch or Bali kernel here. SetCPU will NOT work for Glitch, and Voltage Control will NOT work for Bali.
OPTIONAL FOR GLITCH KERNEL (Bali below)
If you want to adjust CPU Voltage AND/OR Clock Frequency you are going to need to download VOLTAGE CONTROL from the Market. It is free as well. Make sure you use Voltage Control. Other cpu programs have been reported to have problems from what i've read.
If you are not sure what you are doing, then ask!
Here is my voltage control settings, this seems to be the best for stability:
Here are my settings in Voltage Control
1300: 1400mv -0mv = 1400
1200: 1350mv -0mv = 1350
1000: 1250mv -25mv = 1225
800: 1200mv -50mv = 1150
400: 1050mv -75mv = 975
200: 950mv -75mv = 875
100: 950mv -100mv = 850
OPTIONAL FOR BALI KERNEL
You must install SetCPU, which is available from the market, but is not free.
You can also download it here directly from for FREE, copy it to your SD Card and install the apk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=648354&d=1310073004
I'm not sure of good overclocking/undervolt settings on the Bali kernel as I haven't fooled around with it more than to know that it works well with CM7.
**If someone has fooled with it please post up some results so I may put them here for recommendations.**
KNOWN ISSUES
Currently the Glitch V11 has a bug where the keyboard can pop up on random occasions. This will be fixed in V12. It's not a big deal.
Replacement Camera
In my post i've includedthe MIUI Camera APK.
You can just copy the MIUICamera.apk file to your SD card and install it. You will be able to use both the MIUI camera and the stock camera. The only problem is the video recorder of the MIUI camera doesn't record 720p. For that switch to the AOSP camera.
Hopefully taking some time to write this up can help alot of you follow a straight set of instructions instead of having to bounce around and look from topic to topic on what to do.
I'll continue to check on this thread and make sure if anyone has any questions I will try to help and answer them.

Thanks,i did flash Glitch HL kernel, and latest nightly, but i have some questions, can i do gps fix later(after flashing kernel),and i found that my cpu`s max is still set on 1000Mhz,like in stock cm7 stock kernel,so is it necessary to change it(for example to 1200Mhz)for better battery life?
And again thanks a lot for posting this, you hepled me greatly and spared a lot of time in searching.

You can do the GPS fix whenever you please. Just remember that everytime you flash a new nightly of CM7 you're going to have to apply the GPSD file again... Everytime you flash a new nightly it wipes all the old system data, GPSD is unfortunatly one of the casualties.
What program are you using for adjust your CPU frequency? You should be using this:
-Voltage Control : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829731
If you want to gain more battery life you shouldn't be increasing to 1.2GHz, that will not help your battery life any.
If anything leave it at the stock 1GHz frequency and apply undervolt to the processor... of course you will have to do some testing because undervolting can cause stability and lockup/reboots.
Here are my undervolt settings, so far no locks-up on this combo for about a week now:
Here are my settings in Voltage Control
1300: 1400mv -0mv = 1400mv
1200: 1350mv -0mv = 1350mv
1000: 1250mv -25mv = 1225mv
800: 1200mv -50mv = 1150mv
400: 1050mv -75mv = 975mv
200: 950mv -75mv = 875mv
100: 950mv -100mv = 850mv
Im running High Leak, using this daily at 1300mhz no problems yet... Running a good movie on your phone, like an mkv file will really let you know if your settings are stable.. I've found undervolting anything over the stock freq. doesn't seem to be stable.
Does this help you any??
if i flash a custom kernel, bali for example, i need to do something else to flash a new version of cm7?
thanks
No, you can install a kernel on whatever nightly of CM7 you want. It's just best to have the latest nightly. I do remember hearing some of the earlier nightlys of CM7 like lower 30's were having trouble with different kernels...
Just remember that if you flash a new nightly you will have to fix the GPS and Kernel again though.
Everytime you update to a new nightly it deletes everything unfortunatly.

ok! thanks for the fast reply
thanks for doing this!
quick question, when I try deleting the old GPSD file in order to move the new one it says I can not delete the file, then when I try to overwrite it, ES file explorer says I can not move the GPSD file. How exactly am I supposed to replace the old file with the new? I already have angry GPS installed and I also have installed the bali kernel. I've heard good things about bali and battery life so Im hoping it helps out, cause I've always had bad experience with battery life unless I shut off data. Any suggestions for good settings to use for bali?

Those random reboots can be caused by a number of things, but, in this instance you should put "virus" at the bottom of the list. Since your using customs ROMS, first to check is overclock, you might be pushing your Phone's CPU/GPU too hard.
I would assume you have a rooted phone and using a custom ROM. Reboot to Xrecovery and wipe user data. Next reformat your SDcard. reboot and you'll have a "clean" phone.
ok..i'll try.thanks

If you have root explorer. go to system\lib\modules. check and see if you do have the overclock module. also check if you have the undervolt module. Make sure R/W is enable and Move the OC and UV Module to the SDCARD as backup. Reboot and test you phone if its still randomly rebooting.
alternatively, you can check setting >> cyanogenmod settings >>performance >> cpu settings. if there is and you find CPU can be adjusted then reduce the clock to around 691Mhz.
Another option is to install CPUMaster or SETCPU to adjust clock speed.

[TESTING] XDAndroid GBX0C 2.3.7 Build

Hey folks,
This is a completely new build, with all the new changes baked in. We wanted to do a semi-official test release to collect bugs and hopefully do a formal official release with everything settled. The main pain point is the CSV files (see pre-install prep).
So a brief overview:
New acoustic routing code baked in. Should fix most if not all audio routing problems, and will provide more debugging if stuff does go wrong. Also allows for more granular tweaking, see the CSV files.
GPS fixes for GB - GPS not only works in GB now, but it doesn't kill sleep! I was able to use GPS, get a solid lock, and put the device to sleep no problem.
BT should work & well with the new acoustic code. Post results.
RHOD users now have a choice of kernels. .35+ all have the new acoustic - so .35, .39, 3.0 and 3.1 are all fair game now... This is bundled with .27!!
Keep in mind, autobuild .27 kernels will produce no audio in this build... Obviously the bundled kernel will work, and the absolute newest .27 autobuild kernel does work now - Feb.27 2012 or newer.
rootfs tweaks - first, it will detect which kernel you're on (.27 or .35+) and automatically apply the correct firmware. Second, is it will always copy/extract the modules... failures there were getting annoying, and this is surefire if brute-force...
Few Easter egg apk's...
Probably a lot I'm forgetting, this might change
Pre-Install Prep REQUIRED!!!
This step is crucial, and I forgot all about it! You must copy all of the *.CSV file from your WinMo ROM - these are in the \Windows\ directory. There's a very easy way to do this. It involves the Total Commander app for WinMo (Direct Link for the perpetually lazy...) (included in EnergyROM and others probably).
Now you're in Total Commander looking at your \Windows\ directory. Whew... lots of files. Fear not! Hit the "CTRL" button, then the green "Plus" button. This opens the Select/Unselect files dialog. Put in *.csv, press "select" and voila. All CSV files are selected. Now - File -> Copy/Move -> I want you to copy these (should be 10) files to the ROOT of your SD card. No folders!!! This is hardset right now, until we get it all implemented into the build properly. Thanks!
Install
Assuming you've done the pre-install prep; this is installed just like the other XDAndroid builds - grab your startup.txt (don't forget rel_path= if you don't have it at the root of the SD!), ts-calibration and boot!
Download
Caveat List
CDMA users might get a crash in phone.apk and no service on boot. If waiting doesn't resolve the issue, then reboot. Should come up fine...
BT might still be flaky
The CSV files from my TOPA100 are attached for the lazy. I'd like to gather CSV's from each RHOD, I'm curious if any ROM devs have changed them out either... This could get interesting. If you folks don't mind, post up your CSV's, point out differences with mine, etc... We're trying to figure out how to unify these, if possible! Thanks!
Please post back any issues, enjoy!
GBX0C Changelog
Camcorder: Now works (tested on rhodium).
Acoustic: Bug-fix : correct random loss of dual(rear)-mic.
MMS: Bug-fix: Slides with zero duration on Sprint.
Gps: Bug-fix: Init/de-init sequence fix (correct gps not starting up after being unchecked in Settings).
Gps: Bug-fix: End gps session with a correct rpc call (relevant to amss6125 devices).
Gps: Bug-fix: Don't send delayed position requests after session has ended (possibly relevant to Navigation issues).
Gps: New feature: Xtra (aGPS) -> verified to work on rhodium/cdma raph.
X1 specific: Screen rotation patch.
Added tytung's GPS injector app to AndroidApps\Other as well as updating/cleaning up some apps in AndroidApps.
Modified rootfs for newest apsta firmware & wifi firmware - wifi tethering now works flawlessly in the newest kernels! .27 is still bundled for the record...

Any information you'd like to provide? I can't really help you, you've given me nothing to go on.
I assume you mean "stuck" on boot. So stuck on the haret loading bar? Stuck on the flying text? Stuck on the boot animation? C'mon.
sorry, of course, I install like you write above...in console it can't detect build type...install on root of sd all std startup for topaz, no changes...if it help I'll can take a photo of console

Can't detect build type... I had that yesterday, and forgot no_partitions in my startup. Perhaps same issue for you? Obviously this setup runs without a partitioned card, and if your card is partitioned you must tell the system that you want to ignore the partitions and just boot looped.
Yes, I have partitioned sd...can you post me right startup, please?
(or I have to add 'no_partitions' to my startup.txt?)

Sigh.
Yes, you have to add "no_partitions" to your startup.txt, as below.
Code:
set ramsize 0x10000000
set ramaddr 0x10000000
set mtype 2293
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
set initrd_offset 0x00a00000
set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmvkeyb_toggle=off sensor=topaz pm.sleep_mode=1 no_partitions"
boot

Uhm.
From what I gather, there's apps that work in FRX07 that don't work here. Tunis Radar? Is that a GPS app..? Any other apps that don't work?
Logs please.
...Or are you saying they don't show up in the Market?
Hello,
Yes it's a GPS application and i can't see it in android market (it display that they are 15 results but i can see only Sygic (GPS App)).
What about to make this build in CWM?

Perhaps it doesn't work for your device? I don't know, try to get an apk.

Why? It runs off the SD card, full-blown recovery is ridiculous overkill.

hi, first of all thanks and happy new year
i was testing it and i can not run "my backup pro" in order to restore all my apps. i have tried versions 2.66 and 3.01 of this app.
anybody with success in this stuff? thanks a lot
maybe with titanium backup?
i know...my backup is from froyo frx07 version but i think it is possible if the app can run and not force closes itself at the begining
what about battery? any longer results in batt life? maybe not...

Battery hasn't really changed.
Titanium Backup works great, I use it almost every day.

cpu clocking

hi, im an overclocking/underclocking maniac I go with root explorer and change my cpu profile ( interactive ) settings, to respond faster but to stay less time to max value. also i change the settings for the cpu to sleep sooner when the usage is low to conserve battery this way.
But after reboot , my settings are rolled back at their "original" values. I tried to set the permissions only user can write , but it happened again. Does someone know why and how can i make my changes permanent ? thank you in advanced.
forgot to mention. im not using setcpu or anything. i change the system values in the vanir rom i use.

try using one of the many apps, vanir might not be saving the settings and applying at boot. Or you could write a simple init.d script to echo your frequencies much earlier in the boot process.

i cant. using other apps its even harder for me to find the file to edit the profile i want to make it the way i want. i just tried
found it. only using setcpu i can edit governors the way i want them. but still im curious about finding where is the script in rom and reverts back my changes.
