[Q] Failed flash - PLEASE HELP!! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've flashed a rom with Heimdall under linux, and repartitioned too. By some accident, I selected boot.bin as Primary and as Secondary boot loader too! (I should have Sbl.bin as secondary). Now it wont boot, neither to recovery nor to download mode. Please help guys, I cannot do anything! Any ideas?

its off to the repair shop for you i think !!
should never play with bootloaders / .bin files
JIG wont work as bootloader is corrupt, only method of fixing is genuine samsung service centre.
harsh lesson learned i feel for you

sigh, thats what i was afraid of. By the way, it may sound a bit crazy, but isnt there such a bloody little JIG that has a built - in boot loader? I mean that it may load the necessary stuff from it?
And do you think, that the official samsung service can fix that? I mean I know that it's absolutely possible to repair it with the appropriate tools, but are they willing to be helpful with such a problem? :/ And should I say that it was getting updated through Kies when suddenly something went wrong or what?

Service can repair but its a chargeable job as warranty is void .

Blaming it on KIES is your only hope of getting it repaired for free.
if they sniff out a tiny piece of customisation, they will charge or refuse.
there are such tools to fix the device, but only samsung (and really smart devs) have them... so i wouldnt look into making one, its easier to send it off for repair.
chances are, they will realise phone is f**ked, realise how upset and truth telling you are, feel sorry for you, plug it in to the super computer and KAPOW !!! its fixed.
keep fingers crossed and good luck

aight, anyway, thanks for the help!
I'm hoping that they will do it for free, or at least cheap. Maybe I have a good chance, because the rom flash was successful, which means it has the the base, original 2.3.3 on it now, hopefully. Erhm, time to get a friend at Samsung

2.3.3 is not available thru kies for all yet. so you may dig yourself a hole if you say its got 2.3.3 on it.
just say kies found an update, you dont know what build it was, you clicked update and phone powered off and never came back on

Yeah Act dumb just like a Nokia user you where updating through Kies and it failed to reboot .
Do not mention Roms Custom or XDA .
Ask daft questions like is it the sim card if they question you .
Act poor wear your old clothes .

Anyway to the OP, good luck man.

thanks best advices ever XD

There are a lot of people who responded here who don't really know what they're talking about.
If it's only your secondary bootloader that's corrupt then you can use a custom jig to boot your phone. The reason for this is that your phone keeps a backup secondary bootloader. Although Heimdall does allow you to flash over the backup secondary bootloader I intentionally didn't include the option in the user interface (in order to try prevent permanent bricks). Anyway, using a custom jig causes the primary bootloader to hand over to the backup secondary bootloader and not the one you corrupted. As such as long as the primary bootloader you flashed is actually designed for your phone then a custom jig is all that is required.

Thank you! But the thing is, that I did not use the UI (frontend), but the command line of Heimdall only. It looked like:
heimdall flash --kernel zImage [...] --primary-boot boot.bin --secondary-boot boot.bin [...]
And here's the point, secondary-boot should've been sbl.bin if I'm right. So what do you think, will a JIG help it, or not? And could you name a specific JIG which is good, and working for sure? Thanks

That's fine, as long as you didn't include:
--secondary-boot-backup boot.bin

then it should be fine.
I can't recommend a particular jig because I just build them myself if I need them. It's fairly straightforward to build one yourself but any one of eBay should be fine also.

concerning the custom jig mentioned by benjamin: i used this method to unbrick my galaxy, after i bricked it on the very first day i had it
since this uses some playing around until you hit the right pins, you could also actually build a custom jig to do this, if you're not afraid of doing some soldering.
in both cases, the phone should be forced into download mode, then you can mess around with odin/heimdall again.
this is a failsafe built in by samsung, making use of the otherwise unused 5th pin in the micro-usb specification (thanks a lot to samsung for this )
don't be afraid, it won't damage your device since it should be off when you do this. if it works, you won't be forced to tell lies to the samsung service center

Wow, sweet safety-features there. Nice to see the devs thinking of us flashers. I guess we also can be thankful that samsung has this type of double bootloader backup-system...
Oh and if all else fails: Just dress poor..

Well, cool feature. I dont want to be looking smart-ass, but I had thought there would be such a feature (double backup stuff), since in nowadays computers, it's the same situation with BIOS. At least, hopefully. Anyway, I happened to have a friend who has a friend whose friend works at Samsung (hahah me wins), so I used my connection up But as soon as my phone gets home, I'll try these methods. By the way, do you think guys, it would work on Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 ? I'm really into this subject now, and would try it.

[Q] Bricked Phone PLEASE HELP!

Ok guys, clearly I'm new to all this. I've only had my Galaxy S (I9000m Bell) for 3 days now and already managed to brick it.
So here's what happened, I wanted to flash CM7, what I did was rooted obviously, I unlocked since I'm with Rogers and the phone is from Bell. Installed Rom manager, titanium back, Terminal emulator, Astro, etc. So I'm pretty sure I have the required tools. I also flashed SpeedMod Froyo [K13D HPCall VoodooSnd4 SharpnessFix STABLE].
Alright so I noticed I couldn't boot into recovery from CWM even though I flashed it using Rom Manager, I tried fixing this for a while with no luck. I then came upon a thread discussing the 3 button combo fix for download mode. I wanted to get this done just in case what happened happened lol
So anyways, I couldn't find instructions for Mac so I tried putting the pieces together using terminal and Heimdall.
The last thing that happened to my phone was that I was able to get into download mode using adb reboot recovery.
However continuing to the next step to apply the fix wouldn't work for me using heimdall, it would just fail.
Being the idiot that I am I decided to exit in terminal, closed heimdall, turned off the phone and turned it back on and guess what...yup I'm screwed. It's bricked.
Now the problem is I don't have 3 button fix, so I can't get into download mode (even if i did, i wouldn't know what to do).
I read about the jig fix but I don't know if i have any other options, hopefully something faster that I can do myself instead of buying the jig and having to wait for it to **** from ebay.
Sorrry for the longgg post and hope anyone here can help me! Thanks
PS. I tried using terminal again to get to download mode like i did the first time (adb reboot recovery) and it didn't work...it said no device found or something like that
Hi It seems your only option short of looking for a repair shop or sending phone to Samsung is to try the JIG. If you don't know how to approach this print any of the diagrams or guidelines e.g. look here.
What you can do is go to electronics part shop and ask for help with the jig ask the man to wire the resistors to the pins in usb plug just to see if the phone kick starts if not, well you're screwed.
If it works just buy it if not, google for repair shop with Riff Box and JTAG adapter for I9000 it takes about half a bell to do it (repair I mean). But if it's new you have to return it in for repair.
I guess you should get the jig one way or another, either visit electronics parts shop, ebay-it
hope this'll help somewhat.
cheers
If you're in the vancouver area, you can swing by and use the jig I made
Thank you both for the feed back.
@Tony I'm actually in Ottawa. I found someone on Kjiji that also made his own but wants to charge $10 and he lives too far away so I just went ahead and ordered one off ebay for $9 with shipping.
I read on the xda thread regarding the JIG that it the phone doesn't boot at all and just shows a black screen with the bricked image (as opposed to loading the carrier name or samsung with a white screen before) that it won't work and that is my case. Anyways I hope it works, just gotta wait and see I guess. I just don't even know what the next step would be. What do I do once I'm in download mode? :S
EDIT: NVM about the whole white screen, black screen thing, it says that the JIG should work if I see the PC-Phone logo which I do.
Three days huh? Wow, when you do it, you really DO it. Reading your description it sounded a bit like a Med student doing a brain transplant.
First I would just take the phone back to your carrier or service center and say you have no idea what happened, pay the money and have them sort it out. I fear there is no easy way out of the hole you have dug.
Next you should spend a few hours reading as much as you can here and then start small. Ask questions before you do anything. Root the phone. Try a few different kernels and lagfixes. Maybe flash something from doc's kitchen or a custom ROM. Make sure you know in advance what could go wrong and how to handle it, as much as possible. Once you have some experience then try something like cm7, which is very much a beta on the sgs and quite complex to flash and set up.
Spend a little time walking before you run (no matter how much you think you know) ...you'll enjoy the trip more.

Haha I can't take it back to the carrier, I bought it off kijiji, it's from Bell and I'm with Rogers. I unlocked it and as far as I know Bell is really bad with their warranty and last time I bought a Blackberry that was locked to Bell and unlocked it I was told by Bell that I need a receipt, which I obviously don't have. I would rather throw the phone away and buy a new one than have to deal with carriers.
I'm just gonna try the JIG I guess since I already ordered it. Hopefully doesn't take too long to get here.
And yes, I definitely need to read more and follow the instructions on a Windows PC instead of trying to put bits and pieces together and try to get everything working on Mac.
It seems however that the more I read the more I get confused, is it just me or are there so many different ways to achieving the same thing?
Anyways, I bought this as my first Android to experiment and learn on and so far that's what I've been doing. I'm not afraid of running into problems, I'll try to enjoy fixing them

You are right that there are different approaches to doing the same thing...often it is just a matter of what works for you.
Once you have a jig you will have no trouble going in to download mode. From there anything is fixable using odin. I would suggest reading the thread about darky's resurrection ROM which is a good place to start from when you have had trouble.
Just remember to do your homework and enjoy the process.
Good luck.

Hey guysss!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am a biggg IDIOT! LOL
So I ordered the JIG from ebay and on my way home I went to a couple of electronic stores to try and buy those resistors because I wanted to make my own JIG as well. Anyways, all the stores were closed and my friend told me he can grab the resistors from his lab tomorrow (engineering students lol)
I obviously don't want to wait till tomorrow. I came home and decided to take out the phone from its box again. This time I did the 3-button combo but in a different way, not using volume UP + DOWN + power but I came across a Samsung PDF explaining the Anyway JIG and it showed to press Volume Down + Home button + Power.
I gave that a try and voilà!!! I'm back in download mode! YAYYY!
I'm afraid to turn it off or pull the battery out cuz I don't want to risk ruining it even more so I'm gonna go ahead with rschenck's suggestion and use Darky's Resurrection Rom!
Thank you all for your help!!
Uh oh...one last problem

If you can get to download mode you are fine for the moment since that is what you need for odin. Follow one of the guides for using odin here at XDA exactly, and good luck.

Ok so after download mode, I followed the steps to reflash stock, i downloaded the same JL2 that I had prior. Odin said passed but the phone wouldn't boot, it would just get stuck on S in the boot screen...
I did a complete wipe data/cache through recovery and that didnt help.
I then thought I would give Darky's Resurrection a try since it wipes everything anyways...odin again said PASSED but there was a sign of a circle on the screen and it didn't boot. I did it again, said passed again and this time im on a endless boot loop. It turns on says samsung i9000, etc. and then blinks and does it again.
I am still able to get into download mode. I just don't know what to do anymore
Download mode = Yes
Then download stock firmware from samsungfirmwares.com not 2.3.3
or from link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
Download ODIN
Flash stock firmware through Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked .
If that fails try Eclair firmware 2.1

Ok so I did the above instructions and I the same happened. I am on JL2 now but it wont pass the boot screen (Stuck on the S). I did check repartition and 512 pit and pda.
I also have this error:
Can't mount DBDATA: copy default media content failed
My question is if I try eclair will I lose 3 button fix? From what I was able to gather the 3 button fix for Bell I9000M only came out with JL2.
Will I lose it or is it permanent once I have it?

Why flashing is so risky ?

Hello
I'm new android and samsung user for about a year now ! I'm just wondering why this flash procedure contains risk while it should not !
I've bought my phone with 400€ and i'm scared like **** to brick it, a normal thing isnt ?
Well what i want to say is, arnt these companies able to create an unbrickable phone in which i can install any android version like in my pc without risking the brick since i'm not touching the hardware part ?
Why these powerfull little things in specs are weak concerning the updating part ?
For me, its illogic to get a 400€ useless phone just after touching to its software part !!!!!
Do you think that its right ?

I believe phones like the SGS are really sturdy/robust and cannot be easily bricked. However if the situation is like a person taking the wheels of an automobile for the first time without any preparation or guidance and driving through a crowded street and thereby generating a huge risk, that is another matter then!
Invest some time reading through the various initiation guides in these forums some of which 'spoonfeed',and you are good to flash as often as you wish without the risk of causing any hopeless bricks etc.
Happy flashing ahead, but after understanding what it takes!
Flashing is risky only if you flash bootloaders. Otherwise it's safe (well it's good to keep USB jig near just in case) as you can always just reflash if something goes wrong. But I think you'll find more info from flashing tutorials.
Sent from my CM'd SGS
It's hard to brick the SGS. You just hear more about bricks, because no one goes around posting "OMG GUYS SUCCESSFULLY FLASHED!!"
The only real risk is if you flash over the bootloaders. The bootloaders are the software that control how the phone gets flashed, so if these are corrupted obviously you can't really flash it anymore. Problems arise if a) you flash incompatible bootloaders (like from another model), b) the flashing procedure screws up (your computer crashes in the middle of flashing).
It's actually pretty unlikely.
Flashing is not so risky process if you know exactly what you do!
Very often the device behind the keyboard screws up the phone.
People need to read and also getting some basic knowledge how the flashing process works would not hurt them at all. That's the key to a successful flashing
Well thanks guys for the answers ! It was recomforting ;-)
But again for me, even the bootloader shouldnt fear the damage !! Well its a point of view no matter whats the thing between the keyboard does
At least Apple knows how to push their customer to update their iPhones ! I had one and i never feared the updating procedures !
Well concerning the odin software does it write somewhere that the bootloader flashing went perfectly ??
Thanks guys ! And is there any super android phone to buy and which its updating still not risky ?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
flashing aint risky, only moment that it could fail is the part when its flashing bootloader and that takes like second of the whole flashing process (or if youve putted absolutley wrong model firmware to flash)
from anything else you should just simply take out battery, put it back on and 3 button to download mode =)
and now with unbrickable mod its even more safe =)

Well... this thing with ODIN is not an official way to update firmware. It is a way to flash ROMs other than what your phone was supposed to receive. The official way is using Samsung KIES and only Samsung KIES. That is fault-free. If anything wrong happens you have emergency firmware update or smth. Don't compare official update with ODIN.

Actually I see more problems caused by Kies in these forums then I do Odin/Heimdall errors. Beyond that, because Kies is kept closed and limited by Samsung often times the user will have no idea why the Kies update failed, or how to resolve the problem. 99 percent of all Odin/Heimdall problems are due to user error or intensely bad luck while the bootloaders are being flashed and there is always plenty of support online for any error. I take Odin over Kies any day.
As for saying that the bootloader should be unbrickable, I know some people have recently been posting hardware mods that create unbrickable Galaxy devices. However, for most of us who are not adept with soldering irons and transistors, the bootloader is no different then the Bios on a PC. If something corrupts the Bios, all you can do is send it to the shop or replace the Bios chip yourself...just as all you can do with a corrupt Bootloader is use a Jig or sent it in for service.

Really??? So, please take your "unbrickable" PC, and unplug it in the middle of BIOS update (in case of laptop:unplug AND remove battery), and you'll see the results.
basicly you can not compare those two situations
Sent from my GT-I9000
Well, i'm talking guys based on information i learned from the unbrickable mod, these guys have created an unbrickable SGS, do you think Samsung or other companies aren't able to do that officially ? Yes sure they can, but they don't want to, aand i don't know why !!
And for the BIOS thing, i'm partially agree that it's also a dangerous procedure, BUT the difference is that no matter what OS you want to install, you aren't obliged to update the BIOS first, and again, for my 2 Years laptop, i remember well that i've installed Vista and 7 quitly without touching the BIOS
Well, this post wasn't a question at first but kind of "debate" bcause i wanted just to know how people are reacting in front of that situation !
Thank you all
So, who forces you to touch the SGS bootloader?
Same time, Win Vista and Seven are OFFICIALLY released systems.
To compare the situation fully, you should assume that:
- you have PC bought directly from Microsoft, branded by them;
- you want to install "homemade" Win 7 and 3/4;
- you are claiming that you are in problems.
By the way: BIOS and Win Vista or 7 are old systems already. Try to read what is planned and developed now with Win 8 and UEFI: Windows 8 Branded PCs Could Prevent Other Operating Systems From Being Installed, and then compare it with SGS.
Simply, Samsung develops the device with THEIR OS on board, and is not obliged in any way to support homebrew systems, possibly because of likely claims of home grown hackers, who would brick their stuff and then claim it as warranty issue. Flashing different OS'es is possible thanks to effort of the people who are not related with Samsung at all. To use an example going further, look here on the HTC HD2 thread. Device was originally supplied with Win Mobile 6.5, but Dev's managed to port Win Phone 7, Android, Ubuntu and MeeGo to this phone.
Do you think that this is supported by HTC, or the persons who flashed Android and bricked phone would claim that this is HTC's fault? Same is with the SGS: flash not even the stock, but official releases via KIES only, and if something will went wrong, then blame Samsung.
So, there is no situation. Just group of people, who have or not the knowledge what they are doing, while flashing.
dude.. its not about samsung and android problems.. when you're trying to update your phone OS, its risky on every phone. unless you know how to do it right. I just read that if your phone brick, you can bring it to life using USB Jig. I never try it tough, cause my phone is never brick.

Captivate unbrick guide with jtag?

Hello, i have a huge problem with a galaxy captivate. Neighbor brought me that phone to flash it because it was acting funny. I tried to use Heimdall to flash it but as soon as it was flashing the kernel it failed. To my surprise the phone got bricked in front of my eyes because of that. I know the Heimdall rom i was trying to flash does work because i flashed a Cappy yesterday with it. But i guess something went wrong with the laptop that bricked the phone. I have always flashed phones using Odin without a problem but, things happens sometimes i guess. Anyways, my question is if someone knows about a guide to unbrick via JTAG for that captivate. I own a RIFF box so if it helps i would appreciate.
I know I saw somewhere a small explanation on what is soldered. But in all honesty is easier to apply UBM.
UBm? Sorry for my ignorance but what is that?
By the way Puertorro, thats a nice flag lol....
UBM Jtag requires soldering 6 small points. UBM (if I understand correctly) is making a jumper between 2 spots. Can't say for sure, I've never attempted neither, my soldering skills are no where near close to do them lol.
Okay, found something in the forum. Will give it a try and ill let you guys know how it went at all.
Yeah thanks, found the thread. I work with a solder iron every single day and i have the equipment. Thanks buddy for your help... Appreciate that
Well, its late at night or early in the morning however it might be said lol.... But im happy to say that the Captivate is alive and running again. Thanks for all your help and those impresive tools that you guys are able to develop.

I used Odin to flash it back to 2.1 JF6..everything went well..and the Odin also showed 'pass'..but it won't reboot..it boots..shows the at&t logo..then boots again..and it repeats..can't go to either download mode or recovery mode..tried many combinations of buttons..but of no use to that phone..

[Q] soft bricked ! maybe...

Hello there,
I just bought a galaxy note <well a week ago> and now i ended up soft bricking it.
here's how i did it -
I went to my friends place thinking of rooting my phone while he told me to add a custom rom to it . well since he was experienced i let him do it . he added a firmware of i9200(chinese ). well it worked now i found some chinese system applications that i didn't need and while searching on net how to do it i found a firmware of n7000 ics online and decided to flash it in. since i was at home i thought i would be able to do it myself and did what i shouldn't have done. i followed every step they said online and started the downloading of the rom but unfortunately when pc odin was at it's end i mean the end of downloading i actually disconnected the cable ( what the f*** was i thinking) . now i tried to reinstall the same rom but couldn't - pc odin always showed setting up connection or something like this and then stalled for hours ... i thought of flashing some other rom but it didn't - same thing <stalling for hours> . Now what should i do??? help me - maybe i can go to samsung customer care service and ask them to reset my phone but since the usb debugging was on last time when i turned my phone off , kies might not do the job . can u suggest me a way.
one more thing i can't flash stock rom into it and <i am dumb> i didn't backed up my stock rom.
p.s. my flash count is 2 . i can't load my phone into recovery mode but can into download mode and can't do it with a jig (am from india plus i am a little low on technical know how).
i can't hard reset it either. a suitable help would be appreciated ,pls

I have no experience with this, but I did keep this video link on how to put a bricked Samsung into download mode just in case I needed it. The usb jig is the same for both the captivate and the Note from what I have read:
http://androidforums.com/captivate-...ung-captivate-usb-jig-video-start-finish.html
If you are able to enter download mode then Just try with different version of PC Odin , like V1.83, V1.85, V1.87. and do not worry about Stock ROM you can always download it from below link.

thankyou guys but i can't use jig since i can't buy it nor am i capable of making one.
Rajan , bro my problem is something different. the roms i am trying to insert in my phone was via the odin i used earlier to flash my first rom. and it went successfully . but last time the second rom i inserted was interrupted during download and am not able to add anymore of them. now i have talked to samsung care and they told me to bring my phone along with the bill maybe they can do it. even though my warranty is done for, but i think i can believe them . yet if there are any other suggestions pls tell me or should i give it to samsung care. I really don't wanna keep my phone rooted so i have no problem flashing stock but it's not happening. CAN KIES HELP?
p.s i have used all 1.85 , 1.87 and 1.83 version no use.

I fear your Note is done for, if your PC Odin session got interrupted.

Dont take it service centre. If you do so also dont say them you flashed custom rom. Then they wont fix it under warranty.Dont worry now.
Try different usb ports, uninstalling drivers and reinstalling it and try again. And as you are noob I recommend not to flash ICS customs at the moment.Stay with GB
I say go to your friend first who rooted your phone then ask him to try the various methods given in the forum recovering from softbrick.
i have read in some other websites that i will need a pit file to restore my phone + the rom file while checking repartition and auto time fe: reset in odin 1.83 then maybe i will be able to return back to gb . do u think this is ok for me to do .
p.s i live in chandigarh while my friend has moved to gurgaon so no chance to go to his place. and i have talked to customer care and told them everything. they told me to take the phone to service centre and they will help me.
now tell me what are my options!?

wait . what? what is this red pill and all .. i think you can save me but i would liike you to brief me about the procedure plus i read this - i need a (wipe) rom to be able to reflash my rom or something like this .
p.s i am still downloading my firmware ...
but would be better if i get the info i need before hand!
dude.. don't panic... I don't think ur phone is dead... best is to buy a jig... try on eBay... I got it for 200rs in eBay... I don't think that's a big deal for any one with a note .. I bought it even before experimenting because I thought some thing like this might happen....
its safest way to remove the triangle and get into recovery mode... as somebody else suggested flashing red pill also works ... search in development section for abyss kernel... ull find it...

its a kernel with a custom recovery. Its like CWM(Clock Work Mod). You could find it in the development section.Download the kernel.Could you get into recovery mode by turning off the phone, holding "vol up+home button+powerbutton"?

wenn connecting to Kies at firmware Kies says something like LC1. lb2 (XXX) as product code? if so they have changed the board on the service center and they haven't activate the Pcode on your phone google "Pcode not active" you will find few posts till now only ppl from Germany had it who send their phones to service center via Saturn/Media Markt ist guess it was/is a technician you was sleeping on the seminare/briefing how to change the board on Note. hope it will help you if it is that try to replace your phone, had the XXX Pcode after service center got a replacement. after a month of arguing with the salesman.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Uninstall the Odin in your PC and install it again to see if it works.
i am pretty much sure that they didn't change the mother board. they must have added the firmware that's all as my mboard wasn't damaged at all , it was just that the battery failed when i gave it to samsung people that's why my phone overheated when they charged it and that's when the battery must have been destroyed maybe due to that overheating they must have thought to change mboard (but they didn't cause those engineers must have changed the battery prior to examining my phone for the problem). AND i didn't have pc odin on my THIS pc to start with. it was in my laptop and kies didn't even reckoned my phone there well that's why i installed kies on HERE . i guess service center people can update it the same way they installed this firmware here..... what do u suggest?
AND Braxos Pcode is active --- it's something :
GT-N7000ZBAINU
and no, the current firmware info kies shows is something like ---
N7000DDLC1/N7000ODDLC1/N7000DDLC1/N7000DDLC1(INU)
(now i think they have done something wrong - it's all n7000ddlc1 here. what is this? )
GUYS can u also tell me what does your firmware version shows (just for reference , pls do it!)
p.s my phone is still in warranty since they fixed my phone free of cost plus they also replaced the battery for free . before my phone was sent to service center my phone had a flash count of two yet they fixed it under warranty(yay!).And thank you everyone!
MY ADVICE TO NEWBIES----
If your phone is soft bricked and you don't know what to do and you think you will make the matter even worse then don't do anything to permanently brick it . you guys should go to service center , they might even fix it for u for free just like they did it for me!

Cons in smartflash, phone 'dead'.

Welcome. What a beautiful week after returning my black from the site. I want to upload to the different versions of android by smartflash. And here what? Instead of loading bar appeared strip of negatives. Literally. Instead he charged up, the bar was in place and was -23% Disassociate so I took the phone and batteries, and now a repeat of entertainment: nothing again, the phone died, will not turn on. No it does not refer to life. You somehow in safe mode or something? I know a little bit on that. Either way home. Even the logo lg does not blink, nothing, the phone does not respond. Help, in desperate need of help, not che went to the site again. I beg Is there any other way to fix it? Sorry for my english :crying:
Sorry man, but you should maybe buy a NOKIA 3110 again
Couldnt help myself
Ok, can you still turn it into download mode? Plug in USB cable, while you are holding the Volume UP key?

I tried this and nothing, as the phone will not even turn on.
Off to the LG service center and better dont touch it again after you get it back... If you dont have special hardware, which costs definitly more than a repair, you cant bring it to live again.

Hi N00BY0815, sorry for asking here, supposed to be contacted on PM
Actually, what problems cause the HARD BRICKING ?
Generally, I know is Erasing entire CP and loose cable while ROM installation is going on.
Literally, you helped with your (BIG NOOB HOW TO), all the noobs who are using OB..
What I meant is, prepare some instructions to avoid HARD BRICKING and create a thread for OB users.
I know XDA from CM7, but never tried. After only seeing your NOOB HOW TO, I dare to try CM10.
Tons of THANKS to you.

Hard Bricking is only possible with SFT when
a)you disconnect (or power failure, anything that interrupts the process) the phone during when busy with the u-boot or x-loader (you can say update gone bad and they should fix)
b)there is a previous hw problem with the phone that caused a mistake (they should fix this as your tinkering didn't cause this)
c)bad cable or usb port that caused a mistake (might refuse since it's your bad hw)
d)flashing wrong (wrong as in :firmware for phone with different bootloader) or seriously corrupt firmware. (Highly unlikely to get corrupt as it's only 512kb odd out of the whole file that needs to be ok for emergency recovery to be accessible), (they won't fix, their update tools checks validity and model before flashing)

Port and cable are good because they've a thousand times podpinałem the same cable to the same port, so it's not possible that it would suddenly angry. And he heard someone plug something about the service?
