Hey everyone, since i noticed that Portal 2 is pretty famous here i decided to upload my modified bootanimation with some sounds.
But first of all thanks to Mtk87 for his great bootanimation.
And for sure thanks Valve for developing greatest games for PC^^
It is my first work, so please don't be to strict. Also if someone want some other sounds, just suggest it.
Here is preview (it is faster in real)

Running ARHD 5.1.3 with Sense atm but I had to push the files to /data/local for the bootanimation to work. Although I cannot get the startup sound to work. Where do I put that?

On ARHD both must be inside of /data/local
Don't forget that the android_audio.mp3 file have to be there and not the folder.

Thank you for this, I am a big Portal fan.
Isn't it cute, being welcomed by a nice "Long Time, How have you been?" once you restart the phone every now and then?
Nice work, good one for your first!
How about some sounds of Wheatley? Well, maybe I'll take some if I find the time.

I had the same issue. To resolve it, make sure the sound file is named "android_audio.mp3" (w/o quotes). Some of the sound file inside the zips are named "audio_android.mp3" and not "android_audio.mp3".

Getting closer here... Ended up ditching the vids I downloaded last night for part of the trailer from the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Had to go through 4000+ pics to get it down to just under 300. Just need to do the desc.txt file and test it...
Also thinking of trying to add some audio too it. I haven't made any boot animations for awhile and haven't tried the audio part in awhile. I'll probably just do one with sound and one without so you can have a choice.

Alright, so here we go: http://www.multiupload.com/61BJ6XXR2J . The audio is going to have to wait because I'm heading out to watch Inception with my girlfriend. Let me know what you think though. The timing and frame rate was pretty decent the one time I tried it, but if it needs adjusted, let me know. It isn't too hard to fix. Enjoy.

Yea, that's how it works for me too, and was lucky because that was my goal (instead of a long looping section) and got it on the first try with just an educated guess for the FPS. I also looked into the other animation that jestercing suggested, and if it is the one I was thinking of - the interactive video - then I won't be able to use that. It needs to be a video I can download ala youtube, metacafe, google vids, etc. that I can work with. If that isn't the one you were thinking of, then please provide a link. I'm too high and feeling too lazy to play with the audio part today. Doubt anyone is real dissappointed in that. If there is significant interest then I will try to add something appropriate. Requiem for a Dream seems to be popular in youtube videos.

You need to make sure that the zip file is in your /system/media folder (or data/local, depending on the rom) whether via adb or root explorer.

if ur in the terminal commands:
su
cp sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local
reboot
thats how i did it just make sure the bootanimation.zip is in the root of the sdcard.
I took the liberty of making an animated GIF of this bootanimation.
The original has much better resolution, is a faster frame rate, and doesn't loop.
It freezes on the last frame (the second pic) until Android finishes booting.
This one will be nice with a sound file added and converted to the bootscreen style.
~Enjoy!~

A few days ago, someone had a request for a lockscreen that looked like the lockscreen in Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
So here it is. This is simply the puzzle lockscreen modded to look like the honeycomb lockscreen.
Currently, I only have this for FireFly as I built on my own framework first, but I will post the files required to achieve this look and if people want, they can post their framework-res.apk and I can edit it and give it back.
Here is the screenshot of the Honeycomb Lockscreen.

Files for Honeycomb Lockscreen:
DOWNLOAD
How to edit your framework-res.apk:
The framework-res.apk of your ROM is located in the system/framework folder. Extract it using whatever method is suitable for you (root explorer, adb, etc.)
Once you have the framework on your PC, open it with 7zip or WinRar (Right click, open archive)
Navigate to res/drawable-hdpi
Place all my files in this folder
Close archive
Place framework-res.apk back on phone
Paste it back in system/framework (overwrite it)
Reboot
If you apply this mod for certain ROMs, please post your modded framework here so I can add them to a list and make it easier for users.

Of course, FireFly/Phoenix/Supernova/Fusion are on the top of the list.
After that it is going to be request based, but I would like it if other member would help out. I may not always be available to do this, which is why I will post all the files that need to replaced in the framework-res.apk

Any way this could be a CWM flashable zip or available via FF app?
Not much out there for cog 4.1.1 yet, and I've been looking for something to do in my spare time, i may have to get into the art of themes.
Looking sexy!! I assume this is going to be released with FF 2.5?!
Edit: Would be cool if someone were to make a lockscreen that would require a Multitouch (2 fingers) doing a "twisting effect", like turning a knob, in this case it would just be a circular switch. Just an idea. If I had the programming know-how, I would definitely develop this.
Could u plz add the lockscreen to this framework. It is pulled from Di11igaf's new 7.0 rom.

That is a cool idea, and Tsachi and I are trying mess with the functionality of lock screen so we can change how interactions are handled. Just can't promise anything.
It would be awesome if you guys found a way to get it to cycle images. Like on press it changes the image like normal but then 100 to 500 milliseconds later it would swap the image again. Animated lock screens would be so bad ass.
For example: default non pressed image is a dragon. Pressed image is a dragon with half cocked wings , we can do this already obviously. But then a third image of said dragon with wings fully open. Would give the illusion of a dragon taking flight when you swype. Say for instance over the epic lock screen.
EDIT: just noticed glass lock screen has a built in animation. Sigh... If only I knew the first thing about coding...

This version of the animated bootscreen is now available to download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014932
I'll ask some of the guys over in the "android theme" section. Maybe they can lend a hand
Heard back from them. One was busy with school stuff. The other was working in his own project
@ zX The Ripper Xz
Best bet would be to post a thread in android theme section with the psd files and ask if anybody could make this animated. I have no doubt in my mind someone would do it. Just say its one of the biggest builds in our section and everyone wants a bootcreen for this build. That way it doesn't look like a single request.
Awesome animination boot screen.
Cheer.
FIRST OFF: I do not take credit in making this or even posting that it exist. It was previously posted before and all I did was help optimize it and put it in a flashable zip for everyone.
The credit goes to:
crackanug for making these awesome boot animations!
klowinin816 for posting it in Epic forums!
Now, all I did was help optimize it so it wont show a black screen after it is done going through the images and then placed it in a flashable zip through CWM to make it easy.
This zip includes the boot animation and the sound to go with it. If you do not want sound, open the zip ->open system folder->delete the etc folder and then flash.
Let me kno if you have any issues with the zip but again all you have to do is:
1. Download zip and place on SD card.
2. Reboot phone to clockwork.
3. Flash zip (no wiping required)
4. Reboot

And as far as your phone booting to fast, well this zip will probably do that as well because theses were made for the EVO which takes longer than the Epic. Not much I can do about how fast your phone boots, most the time mine won't go through whole thing though...
im on bonsai 4.1.1 when i flash the halo boot i get sound only no video havnt tried cod yet multiple flashes same result ill mess with it

Does your kernel support bootanimation.zip's?
Sent from my perfect epic
The zip pushes it to system/media so make sure that is where yours is... I have flashed both multiple times and it works fine...

I just checked my system/media...and there was a bootanimation.zip there....but it was not labeled cod bootanimation with sound .zip.......but when i opened it up it was cod.....but for the hell of it i moved it from my sd card so media and rebooted......and sorry to say the sound only lasted for like 4 seconds....and then silence......the same thing happend with halo.......i think both of these boot ups are awesome.....especially CALL OF DUTY......but i wish it was with full sound.....let me know if you can fix it.....thank you for your time
I can't fix sound because that is the Epic boot up... Even completely stock it only plays sound for 3 seconds...
In system/media it should say bootanimation.zip... it won't say cod or halo or anything so that is the right thing.
Well...........either way it is still a sick start up boot......i guess i will settle for a 3 second start up sound and some sick animation.....until otherwise..........

A sniper headshot, body shotgun explosion, and a chainsaw kill lol
That I will leave up to you on the GOW boot animation. There are tons and tons of montages and pics, etc out there for GOW just like COD/Halo. Plus GOW 3 is due out in September so something based on GOW 3 would be cool.
BTW, Thanks for responding and accepting the job
Since I couldn't find a boot animation that could satisfy me I had to make one by myself. Due to requests I decided to make other sizes I hope you like them!
This boot animation, differently from the other ones has no differences in the proportions of the logo!
THE NAME OF EACH BOOTANIMATION MUST BE bootanimation.zip
For 480x800, 320x480, 240x320 and ALSO FOR 540x960 DISPLAYS!
The preview of the white boot animation can be found HERE
Preview of the black one: (in the real boot animation there is not that "green noise", it's a problem of my gif creator)

Grazie! This is awesome except the dest file is not configured correctly(i fixed it for myself). Been looking around for it...
I made another one, which goes at 20 fps instead of 15, that I didn't like, I'll upload it ASAP!
EDIT: Done
Looks great on my phone, thanks

Work for all 480x800 phones?
Hi there, does this work for all 480x800 phones? My Galaxy W has the exact resolution. I hope it will.

As invasion2 said, it should work on any 480x800 phone
Thank you. It is running very well abd serves as a good purpose to HTC-fying my phone. Lol.
Edit: could you do one that looks like the original boot version with white background , green htc word, and black quietly brilliant word?

I'm glad you like it! Yes, I surely can, but since I am still considered a "noob" on xda I will have difficulties posting the other bootanimation, but, hey, no problem, I will try anyway
EDIT: Done

I already did it for a friend of mine's Wildfire S, but it has not the right proportions, since I had started from HTC Sensation XE's files...
If I'll find out how to post it (and maybe trying to get the right proportions even into it) I'll do it ASAP
thank you very much. i love it. what program or software did u use? mind telling as i've always dreamed of making boot animations, only to just lack the courage. btw i have pressed the tank button

I used no software! You just have to create a folder where you have to put the files you want to be in the bootanimation with a sequential numbering, create a desc.txt file and pack them into a zip file. Try searching how to create a bootanimation on google or send me a pm

sorry for late reply(my internet was down). what i meant was how did you make those pictures?
First of all I would like to say that I think I have found a way to make a good bootanimation with right proportions for 320*480 displays like williamcharles asked!

Well I downloaded the Sensation XE bootanimation for the images then I went on resizing them. For the black quietly brilliant i found it in a rom I had downloaded. In the end I only spent a couple of hours thinking in which way I could resize the Sensation XE's bootanimation not losing the proportions

Is it possible to make a 240x320? I tried but the end result was very pixelated
