[Q] video recording lost - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recorded video with my galaxy s and after 15min of recording i accidentally touched the back button on my phone. Recording stopped immediately but video file wasn't saved anywhere. Is there any way to find that video file anymore or is it gone forever. I think there must be some kind of temp file of that video somewhere in my phone but i can't find it.
This video is very important to me so any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

Connect your phone in USB mass storage mode and search but i think you have no chance .

i think android recording method is stupid ..
not only you have to push the "stop" button' but also then choose "save".
i have lost many precious videos beacuse of that.

I tried mass storage mode and several recovery programs but they didn't find right video. I think that maybe unsaved videos could be found in phone system folders but only memory cards are showing in USB mass storage mode. Any ideas how to search from system folders?

[Q] Accessing internal memory to retrieve video

I'd like some help to, if possible, access the internal memory to retrieve some recorded video. I'll explain why this is a problem.
I was recording quite a bit of video the other day and I only used the pause button, not the stop button, and it appears the SGS(with gingerbread) does not save the video unless you press stop. But I'm hoping the phone will have the video on memory and that it didn't actually delete it, it's just not recognizing the recorded video as used space. Would it be possible to access the area of the memory the phone thinks is free space? I'd appreciate very much.
Previous post exact same subject from memory answer was no.
But recuva may read deleted stuff on phone and root explorer or super manger may find the files on the phone .

Double image & cant play music

I have searched the threads multiple times and always got only temporary answers.
I have had ppl tell me to CLEAR DATA under the apps --> Media storage.
It looks good after immediate bootup, but after 1 hr everything is now double or even triple.
Also the music files play only within a 30 minute timeframe, after that it only says "Can't play the track you requested"
Can anyone give me a permanent solution to this problem??
I am presently using ICS Stunner 1.4.26.1
Are you using the stock player? I've had this problem myself and i noticed that some temporary files were saved on my internal storage (with the music on my external). After i set my music folder as the default music folder it stopped duplicating everything. I haven't bothered to look for the duplicates, so i'm not sure where they're hiding at.
Using PlayerPro.

make sure that the mount points in kernel are correct. Do you have your camera pics saved in internal or external storage?

How about the music files? They are also on the internal

Well. No one has a solution or fix for this ??
Yeah i really need help with this as well.
Any chance you are on speedmod? I had this problem as well. I think it's because in speedmod internal and external SD are switched.

[Q] Walkman and video players not finding files on my SD card

Just got the phone and I'm digging my way through it but I've found that for some reason my music and video files are not being seen by the phone.
Photographs are fine, but I see no obvious way of forcing the walkman and movie apps to scan my SD card. The files are still there and I've tried unmounting/remounting but I'm not having much luck.
Has anyone else experienced this? I tried to search but only saw reports of skipping tracks etc.
Edit: I've come from a Galaxy S3 and the card was formatted on that phone - could it be a slightly different file organisation system? I hope I don't have to reformat!
I understood the media server will scan for files if you:
- Add new media to the SD card and unplug USB cable.
- When you power cycle the device.
If all this fails maybe try an app like "Rescan Media":
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-addz-mediascanner-jtDAw.aspx
Rescan Media is a simple app will rescan your mobile phone for new files that usually happens on a system re-boot.
It only calls the android media scanner.
Kind regards, Stefan.
You can also delete android folder from the sd and reboot.

Thanks guys. Oddly enough I'm now seeing my files. It seemed to just happen! When I rebooted and used usb, nothing happened. Then out of the blue it just does it, unexplainable! That app looks handy though
can't find the media
Same to me. I can find any mp3 or mp4 file that i have in sdcard in my walkman, Still can see it through file explore. How can I fix it? Tried media scan app, flash new app, wipe anything... but still can't see anything in the damn screen.
Please help me! You can send email for me: [email protected]

Can't transfer music onto SD card

I have tried both Media Transfer Mode and Mass Storage Mode, Media Transfer Mode results in errors while Mass Storage Mode first appears to work, I can find all the files I've transferred and play them on the computer from the phone but as soon as I disconnect from the computer they disappear from the card. WTF?
Try with a card reader?
Or you could transfer to the built-in storage and then move to SD using Fail Commander.
Does the microSD card work ok in other devices? I've just tried transferring from PC to phone in MTP mode and the files turn up straight away on my Z3C. This is with a 64GB Scandisk card.
I will check with a card reader, I hope it's the sd card being faulty and not the phone.

The easy way for me to access the SD card without making things difficult is to change the USB connection mode on your Sony Xperia Z3 compact over to Mass Storage mode (MSC). Here is how to get to this setting:
Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > USB connection mode > select Mass storage mode (MSC)
No special drivers needed on the computer for it to recognize and read/write the micro SD card inside of your phone when plugged in via micro USB.
You will no be able to access your internal storage with this setting, but you can transfer files over via File Commander if needed.

I have the same issue. With the full size Z3.
Really annoying.
I've had SD cards that read fine on a computer but not in my mobile devices. Even between devices (super annoying) so I would try a different card if you have one around.

Hi, I've been using the Wifi-File Explorer app ever since. Still works fine on the Z3C.
Hello, simply use the third-party program to move music to SD card such as iTools, Apowersoft Phone Manager, etc., i guess it will work for you.
Similiar with me
Hi,
I have a Z3C with latest available Android (6.0.1 no root).
Yesterday, I have copied lots of music files to my sd card (sandisk 64GB, class 10). Haven't used the media mode, just attached the phone directly to the pc with usb cable, and selected to mount the sd card only to my pc.
After I have copied the files, and pulled the phone off of the computer, the files aren't showing up on my phone, not even with root explorer.
Can anyone help me what could happen with my phone? Should I just try this again in media transfer mode?
Thanks
Kind of similar problem!
I 've been transfering music to my SD through wifi connection ( using different apps through the years - "portal" at the moment ) without any problem.
Havent really noticed when maybe after upgrading to official marshmallow ( OTA ), what happens is that most of the newly transfered music is just displayed on ES File Explorer, but not on the music library ( same happens with 4 different music apps ) and can't be reproduced. The music that was there before is displayed and allowed to be played normally, but the newly added in order to be added and played through the music library, i have to :
1) eject the sd card
2) mount the sd card
3) clear es file explorer and music app from the recent apps
4) open es file explorer
5) play the specific newly added track though es file explorer player
6) open the track with the music app by clicking it through the es explorer
any thoughts / advice ?

Do you have an app that stops the media scanner from working?
I had the same problem that files on my SD card weren't being picked up by the Sony Music app.
Try settings/apps/show system apps, find Media Storage, Force Stop, Clear cache, Clear data, restart phone, wait five minutes.
This Media rescan app is very helpful and even gives you a shortcut to the Media Scanner properties so you can perform the above task.

aaah! I' m so stupid I was searching for such an option but I missed it. It's been a long time since my first android phones ( pre-Lollipop years ) that i had to dig into settings try find and fix things when root and custom roms were a necessity and every tiny little detail might have alter your android experience a lot.
thanx for the feedback! I already installed "media re.scan" and i am going to look deeper into it a bit later as at the moment i have my music library up to speed.

Need Help With usb

HELLO XDA ,
To save internal memory I have all my music / videos on an usb pendrive that I plugin when needed . But the problem with that is Samsung's native music player does not recognise them and I have to manually change the songs one by one . Would like to know if there is any way i can avoid doing it and enjoy my music without worrying about changing it manually
Note : i tried stick mount and Usb otg helper which does not solve my issue .
Thanks and Regards

I have the same issue as you. I have videos and images on my flash memory that I would like to edit using my favourite video and photo editor, but I can't because they are not available in the gallery app. I tried folder mount app but I got in a boot loop. Any suggestions?

You both can try media-re scanner apps available on play store after plugging Usb storage via otg..It will help to rescan media on you device which will later include media stored on your external flash storage after scanning to the native gallery or music player apps
Wow that actually works!!
Thank you.:good:
