Call me picky but, I just couldn't seem to find a theme that I really liked. Android 2.0 comes close but I liked the red of the blur ROM - so, wanting a red-ish theme and a smaller app drawer at the bottom, I decided to make my own theme.
I also seem to be a bit of a rarity in that in the main, I actually like the default status bar icons so I don't feel it necessary to make the battery round or android shaped or anything. So, on mine, the battery looks like a battery...I dunno, seemed kinda logical to me ;-) I added a little touch of colour to some of them but nothing OTT I don't think (I really like my 3G activity icon now - reminds me of an old modem with status LED's
There are a couple of things that I pinched out of other people's ROMs (gmail icon from djengiz), widget background from ZilverZurfarn's melange theme but most of it has either been replaced or re-coloured by me
Thanks to everyone I've nicked stuff from and anyone else I haven't "credited".
And, of course, a big thanks to Cyanogen for his awesome ROMs
It runs OK for me - I've only got a G1 so use it on anything else at your own risk.
Guarantees :
1) I will mysteriously disappear should this break everyone's phones.
2) I probably can't fix it if it doesn't work (mention it anyway though)
3) That it will not work on your Nokia N95
4) Or your Sony Ericsson C905
5) That I've not finished tweaking it
Todo list:
=======
*** Status bar background - re-thinking the brushed metal look - let me know what you think about this
*** Power widget background (still using ZilverZurfarn's but want to get my own there ASAP)
* Browser link shortcut icon needs re-colouring (forgot for this one)
** Analogue Clock Widget
* App drawer handle needs "tidying" - I'm not as happy as i could be with it
Hope you like it - let me know how it works out for you.

I've re-done most, if not all of the icons that I just pinched from the blur ROM and I've been a bit more selective of the stuff that I've recoloured as I thought it was looking a little too dark previously. I've also taken out a lot of the un-used png's that have been hanging around as the ROMs have developed.
I initially used the Android 2.0 theme as a template for mine and there were a few files in there that could come out and some from the blur ROM that I'd copied over and weren't used on the G1. Oh, and I've also deleted all thumbs.db files in all my drawables folders - so it should be a little smaller now and putting less un-needed crap on your phones.
I've been using this myself for a couple of days now and not had any FCs at all so I think you're good to go
Theme-porn follows:
I do love the design of the power widget, I may have to steal that for my alienaqua theme, it has similar colors.
Really nice choice of colors, great job on this and reading the post made me laugh. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work.
This looks real stylish.
A lot of nice details and as prash said: the power widget is beautiful.
that lock screen is sick. one of the best i have seen !
Edit: just realised it was from the 2.0 theme lol. but nice the anyways
hey what lockscreen is that?
I just downloaded this theme, and the app drawer tab for me is still the same as cyanogen's stock one that he had and not like the android 2.0 type tab you have in the screenshots. any thoughts on how to get it to look like that?
It includes both the Advanced Launcher and the standard one - if when you press the home key, it doesn't give you the choice, use the application manager to remove the default setting (you can switch back if you don't like it).
I originally wasn't going to used the advanced launcher but it is much more stable these days and I haven't had any problems or slow down with it.
It's the only one of the two that I have skinned so far - I will update it in the next day or two so that they are both skinned
Thanks for the positive comments everyone This was only something I was doing for myself but like someone mentioned above, it's in the details and I wasn't happy with only doing a few bits and pieces so I went further and reached a point where I was happy to share it with others.
There's still a few things I want to do yet but I'm having the weekend off and will get back to it on Monday
If it i can leave it alone for that long... ;-)
Cheers,
Smiffy.
great looking theme!
lockscreen looks good but dont function nicely
I am not too crazy about the red but otherwise this is a really good looking theme. It's very fast and stable.. no force closes or other crashes yet. Great work!
I just installed this theme over CyanMod 4.2.4. It works well with no issues so far.
Well, there's a few new icons in 4.2.4 so I've updated my theme and played with a lot of the new stuff.
It's working OK for me with no FCs but caveat emptor and all that...
Thanks for all the positive comments. I've also gone back to the standard lock screen for the time being - as much as I didn't care about the stretching issue in landscape, I wasn't overly happy about nicking someone else's work so I may do my own in the near future.
Might not though so don't hold your breath or anything - in fact, I actually like this standard one...we'll see.
Oh, and about the analogue clock - I'm going to make it slightly darker but not do much more than that to it - do people even use it?
Cheers,
Smiffy.

has anyone got some windows animations ported like in these videos...

If you look at UOT kitchen, they just implemented the feature recently. It comes with this warning:
WARNING !!!
You have to wipe dalvik-cache when applying this mod. If you don't know how to do it - do not use this mod.
It's on testing mode, so do backup before applying this mod.

Check it out. Maybe you can get it working..I was going to try it but didnt feel like taking a risk because I just finally got a2sd working lol...Huge frustration plus I had finals this week. Btw all of the other things work on my Aria using FR008. The only thing that's a bit weird is how things show up larger because the screen doesn't get adjusted to the right size (boot animation). I'm guessing if you try this, it may cause the screen size to be out of wack? Idk.
This is a simple battery mod to the stock framework of Cognition5 Beta2. It was created using the UOT Kitchen and the colors were matched (not perfect, but close) to the pulldown icons. If anyone knows the exact hex code to match, I'd appriciate it. The color remains green until the battery percentage gets to 14 or bellow, then they turn red. Like I said, simple. I personally don't like my battery icon constantly changing colors.
These are compatible with the new cwm intergrated into Cog5 beta2. I would suggest putting both files on your phone, that way if something goes wrong, or you don't like it, you can revert easily. I take no responsibility... you know the drill.
Thank designgears for all his hard work, and the UOT Kitchen guys for all their hard work on an amazing program. I just did alot of pointing and clicking, lol. I'm not sure who made the original icon, but thank him too, and the CM7 team for adding the mod to their rom in the first place.

I can't believe I was the only one using your mod. Anyways, it just looks awesome. Thanks a whole bunch, my aging eyes might stay in their sockets!
I can see! I can see! Thanks much for this. It's nice to actually be able to see the percentage.

Glad you'll like it. Stock battery was just too hard to read. I'm currently in denial about my eyesight, so this was my way of dealing with it, lol.
these are the main colors in the center two rows in each of the horizontal bars in one of your images. the first of each is the most common color.
bar 1
#acea1d
#aeef0d
#adf00d
bar 2
#aee822
#aeee11

*Edit*
I'm not trying to be a jerk but it looks like the font is 1px larger than the date or time font...just letting you know. the baseline is the same though, so that's good.

Thank you very much
for both the revised Batt (my old eyes just couldn't deal with the micro type)and the revert to original is icing on the cake that makes me feel very comfortable using your tweak. It works superbly

I'm looking to replace my pull down notification bar background with a transparent texture.
I'm running Deodexed LA6 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416192
I've never done any of this kind of editing before, but I've found the odd guide and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of exactly which texture/s should be changed, and how to make a replacement texture (download GIMP and make transparent grey texture in that?)
failing that, if anyone has a mod that I've missed, or would be willing to make one, that would be great too.
Thanks
I did the same on my Galaxy S2 or better some themer provided y flashable zip file to be flashed with CWM and I edited the background image.
The statusbar background images is located in system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\ and is called status_bar_background.png. At least this was the case for the S2.
I can provide you the .zip file, you can have a look into it and maybe adapt the structure to get it running on the Note. Just drop me a line if you want the zip-file.
Disclaimer:
Sorry about the lack of updates, have family health issues that have been taking up majority of my free time, I am hoping to get some more work on my theme in this weekend.
1: This is my first theme creation for any phone and have become totally addicted to working on this.
2: The inverted flip clock background I took from Knightwolf's inverted flip clock
3: The theme injector in the zips I have attached is by VillainRom and want to give them credit where it is due. The newer ones I will be posting as of 5/13/2013 on have them credited in the script during install.
4: Please do be patient as I am trying to juggle a ton of stuff like others on this forum and working on themes and anything rom related is extremely time consuming. After starting this I have a lot more respect for those who have done this for years on a lot larger level
(Making something as simple as the battery Icon literally meant creating over 100+ customized PNG's from scratch, finishing it, and redoing all of them again when I didn't like the way it came out in the first place... ugh)

Boot animation preview:
The previous file that was linked from my dropbox account was the wrong file, for those who flashed it I apologize. That had issues with the keyboard and dialer. The one hosted on androidfilehost is correct. (SpiderBeta52913.zip)
I have tested it on Viper rom and Blues and Jazz rom. May work with others but can't guarantee, as with anything you flash, please create a backup first before flashing. Feed back appreciated.
To install boot animation: use esfile explorer or root file explorer, copy the hTC_bootup_one.zip to the system\customize\resource folder and overwrite the existing file. I suggest renaming the old one or backing it in case you want to go back to the original. I know the file is a little bit in size but I have to lower the quality on the jpeg files and don't have the time right now lol.
I themed the large flip clock, made custom signal, internet icons, and battery icons. I also customized various notifications icons (usb debugging, usb connected, beats audio, ... etc). I am working on a keyboard, dialer, wallpapers, more icons, and contact pics... just haven't had as much time as I would like.
The flasher is from Villain Rom, the base of the theme (majority of it (pretty much anything blue ) is from Timber Wolf's Blues and Jazz rom. The smaller sense clock and weather animation came from PCB Blue VR theme by Pete2506 ( I changed the color of the numbers). The dialer and keyboard are from the forums ( i have to track down the post and owner to give credit which i will do shortly).
forgot
I had to reboot and then replace the the widget on my screen for it to show. Works great for me so far. Animations are working as well. Looking to tweak and possibly do a spiderman theme for the One shortly
looks awesome thanks!
Updates coming
I wasn't quite happy with the way it looked, I went over the numbers and letters again. I also created a spider battery with percentage. This took a more time than I wanted but its done. Is kinda small but only way I could make it fit. I'm trying to get help in making it into a flashable zip! will post as soon as its ready.
Looks very nice. I know how much time goes into making things look "Just Right." You need help getting that flashable later shoot me a PM

Updated versions in flashable zip
I used knightwolf 's inverted clock zip and backgrounds as a base for this. I was going crazy with the animation of the flip panels being slightly off. If i can get them smooth the red web background will be put back in. They can be flashed in recovery and you are good to go!
Pictures and last 2 versions
Here are the pics and the the version of the clock with the red web behind it. The numbers are a little jaggy in that iteration as well. I'm using the colorspiderclock currently and happy with the way it came out. Might work on a couple other clocks shortly. Thinking maybe a punisher themed one .
ugh forgot to attach
For some reason I didnt attach the different color, non web version, last post for a little bit
Spiderman battery w/ percentage
Ok i lied,I packed my battery with knighwolf's battery flashing zip
Ton of time and work went into this and yet still didn't come out how i wanted it. But here it is non the less!
Theme / icons coming along
Just finished the signal bars. Will redo all the zips for flashing my parts in a but. Kinightwolf pointed out that it previously didn't credit Villain Rom for their injector. Hoping to get theme finished tonight.
addicted...
first thing i did when i walked in the door.... Think it looks much better, feed back anyone?\
LCD Screen Protector For HTC Touch HD2
Who will i get the themes and app of this model.
Is there another zip for the updated web signal bar? I think it looks much nicer than the original.

Updated zips later tonight hopefully
I'm trying to make a zip to install just the signal bar, if you notice in the pictures it changes some other icons to just white. I am going to change the icons it installs later tonight hopefully. I spent another couple hours cleaning up the battery icon and and the Flip clock. I managed to get the Battery to not look jagged and gave it more a 3d look. Same thing for the flip clock, I made the numbers look better and added 3d effects to the webbing on the inside. I still need to finish removing the white spots under some of the numbers as well. Once those are finished up tonight I will pack them up and post them. Here is a pic of the progress so far. ( I am being a little bit anal about the work I do because I am hoping to only have to do it this one time and then just be happy )
Getting there..
Didn't get a chance to work on it much last night, had a family emergency. Did get to the 1x 3g and 4g icons... feedback? Not sure if I like them the way they are. Just need to knock out the wifi icon, phone vibrate, and a couple others and then I can put all the updated packages up.
Finally got some more time.
I finally got some more time to find a couple of the icons that were buried. Thanks to help from people on the board pointing me in the right direction
(Timberwolf and Knightwolf) . I am close to releasing a flashable "beta" version. Will include the flip clock, battery, signal, data, and various notification icons. I don't want to impose a keyboard into it just yet. Here is a couple pictures of in its current form.
Feedback definitely wanted...
Upload coming..
Didn't have a chance to work on anything this last week. Did the tough mudder last weekend and have been juggling family, work, and fixing my car this week. I plan on getting a flashable zip up by tomorrow night for the signal, clock, battery, and various icons. Works with Viper Rom and Blues and Jazz (I am using it currently layered ontop of the theme from the latter).
Posting once I get home. I messed up the zip ( keyboard and dialer look crappy) . Fixing then uploading
