[Q] Motorola Milestone Unlock - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hello,
I bought a Motorola Milestone locked on Orange Romania. It had Android 2.1.
I rooted the phone and i installed the CyanogenMod 7.0.1 with Android 2.3.3.
This are the actual specifications:
Baseband: 3GSMEPU91A_U_91.09.04I
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-g11068ed
I ordered an unlock code from unlocking website (no way that i have entered a wrong IMEI or network operator) and it doesn't work. I turn on the phone with a Vodafone Romania and Cosmote Romania SIMs, i enter the SIM's PIN and then an message appears: "SIM network unlock PIN". I enter the code received from unlocking and this message appears: "Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful". I search on the internet and i found a solution for Motorola CLIQ by Yakk but no solution for Milestone.
I tried to reflash a lot of Android versions (2.2, 2.1, 2.0.1 from Central Europe, Africa, UK, France, CyanogenMod 7.1.0 - Android 2.3.4) but no luck.
What should i do?
Thank you very much!

I forgot to add: bootloader 0.78

Nobody?

Hello again!
I fixed the problem. I ordered another unlock code, but this time for GSM Liberty. It worked like a charm.

so,bottom line, only gsmliberty can provide unlock codes for milestone?i have the same network from romania and i didn't find any unlocking code generators.

[Q] I9000 unlock code from carrier work only on one sim??

Hi, I have bought an I9000 from France locked to Orange and was given the unlock code from the Orange. I unlocked the phone with my simcard and it unlocked. I tried to use another sim but it requests the unlock code and the one I have is not working. When I type *#7465625# with now sim in the phone everything is OFF Network Lock etc. I have also flashed a stock android 2.3.1 and debranded the phone.
It still works with my sim.
Is it possible to use with another sim or do I have to get another unlock code?
Thanks
Are you referring to SIM Unlock code or Network Unlock code?
SIM unlock code is independant to the SIM while on the other hand Network Unlock code is independant on the phone itself. It is based on IMEI of the device.
Yes the other sim had sim lock code and i did not know, that was the problem. Thanks.
You don't have to say thanks. Just hit the Thanks button if it helped.

FW update needed to unlock?
I am searching for a way to unlock my I9000T that I bought from Claro Guatemala last year. I have root access and get an unlock code from Galaxy S Unlock, but when I try a sim from MoviStar I do not get an option to enter the code.
From reading other forum posts I suspect that I may need to install a completly different firmware and then root and unlock the phone. Can anyone confirm which firmware will allow this phone to be unlocked? I don't need any cool mods, just to be able to unlock the phone.
It's a I9000T from Claro, not a standard I9000.
I have an unlock code, I don't need to buy one, but the funky FW from Claro prevents me from using it.
Exito!!!
I'll post more datials later, but I have succesfully unlocked my I9000T from Claro.

[Q] Baseband "Unknown". Possibly simlocked?

Hello
I bought a droid 3 from ebay in Europe. The phone came from US (Verizon).
It was already rooted and with safestrap 3.05 installed.
System version is 5.6.890.XT862.Verizon.en.US
Kernel is 2.635.7-g790a33c [email protected]#1
Build 5.5.1_84_D3G-55
Baseband – now says “unknown” but was showing something before I flashed a new radio (explained below)
I want to use this phone with gsm networks in Europe. So, I flashed cyanogenmod in boot slot 1 and tried to connect to my gsm network, but it didn’t work, The error was something like “Cant assign to selected network”. Then I followed this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989359 the part for non-us “foreign” gsm networks. Stil the same problem.
Then I thought it might be sim locked. Bought an unlock code from unlock4moto, booted into the original slot, entered sim card pin followed by the sim network unlock code I received from unlock4moto and I got the message “Your phone is subsidy locked. Contact your provider”
I re-entered the code. Same error.
Tried to connect to my gsm network that the phone was detecting but I got the same error “Cant assign to selected network”.
Then I decided to flash the new radio from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989359 (the “using us gsm networks” part) and changed build.prop and rebooted to original software.
Now it doesn’t even ask me for sim pin code and when I try to search for networks its says “Connection unavailable” and on taskbar “Selected network unavailable” and the baseband version disappered, now says "Unknown"
Am I screwed?
What’s my problem now?
Thank you

AT&T HTC One on Vodaphone in NZ

I'm from the US and am in New Zealand for a month. I own an HTC One which I purchased from AT&T and have been using on their network in the States. I've unlocked the phone, and also have S-Off. I've purchased a prepaid SIM card from Vodaphone in New Zealand. When I insert the SIM card, the phone asks me for the 8 digit SIM unlock code, so I entered the 8 digit PUK code provided by Vodaphone with the SIM. The phone tells me this code is invalid. I'm not quite sure why this isn't working - is it possible I need to load a different firmware to use the phone in New Zealand?
Kernel is 3.4.10-g31f7883
Firmware looks like 3.62.401.1
I'm currently using ViperOne ROM.
Certainly appreciate any input on this issue.
Thanks,
Josh
Well, I did not realize that bootloader unlock and SIM unlock are two different things. That's a bit confusing. Wish I had figured that out prior to flying here.

If I remember correctly (this is all from memory), for the unlock code to work, you need
1) correct (original) CID and MID
2) stock ROM (some were able to do it on custom ROMs, but not sure if all work or only certain ones)
3) stock firmware for above ROM
4) stock recovery
5) LOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader
6) S-Off won't matter, and that will be your ticket to unlock again
you can search the forum here for SIM UNLOCK, there are quite a few similar cases, which got solved by a combination of points 1 through 5.
If anyone stumbles onto this thread in the future...
Turns out I needed a code from AT&T, as I needed to carrier unlock the phone before being able to use the Vodaphone SIM. I tried contacting AT&T to get the code, but they won't give it to you unless you are out of contract.
I was able to get an unlock code using option 5 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242473
I loaded a stock ROM, but left the bootloader and my custom recovery on there, and the unlock code worked just fine.

HTC One Europe unlock

Hi guys,
I am writing because I have a friend in need and xda was more than helpful to me in the past. I have Samsung Note 2 but my friend owns HTC One European(probably) and the phone has a sim lock on it. It is bought in Bosnia and Herzegovina and he came to Austria to live now and phone is of course, not usable. Can you point me please to some unlock methods, free or not? Ive been searching a bit online and all I can find is unlock for HTC One Sprint. He has 4.4.2 now and update is available.

There is many threads here regarding sim unlock, use the search option. Essentially, he will need to purchase an unlock code i.e from ebay (cost between 10-20$ US). Then when inserting the new sim card, he will get prompted to enter the sim unlock code. The phone must be on stock sense rom to use the unlock code. (some users reported successfully sim-unlocking their devices using arhd sense rom)

We have already done that. Code isn't working actually. Is there any way of determining the exact model of it? I've read that some codes don't work for Telenor Serbia or VIPnet Croatia. It's not the network from which he has bought it but it's also not possible that M:tel from Bosnia changed it's model somehow.
