Hello,
Recently I flashed DOC's rom v11.1 on my phone with the gingerbread keyboard. However the keyboard keeps force closing... I even did a complete wipe of my phone and flashed it again... no succes... Any solutions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance
Another question: I lost the dutch language on my phone anyway to get it back? (It's not in the settings tab)
Libs missing i think.....
Check if you have in system/lib folder the file called "lib_gblatinime.so"
PS = wrong section!!! This must be in Q&A Section! Mods, please move this topic...

Copy directly into the system/lib folder....then reboot!
Thanks! It works! Thanks a million! There's no Dutch dictionary because my phone has no Dutch language however I flashed it with XEN (which is the Dutch language) any idea what's wrong? Or how I can get my phone to use XEN?

Hello,
Since my Galaxy S is coming very soon, I was wondering if anyone here has successfully added Hebrew/Arabic language so that we can see it in the browser and in SMS.
Any tutorial?
Thanks.
I did with Hebrew fonts and it is working fine. Delete the fonts under /system/fonts and copy the new fonts to that folder. I used root explorer to do this.

For me
I rooted my SGS then copy tahoma.ttf from windows to /system/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf and it read arabic but reversed and it should also read Hebrew
So Hebrew is ok.. no problem.
For Arabic, I read somewhere that its reversed and they are not attached to each other (like space is between each character).. is it right?! Whats the solution to this?
Where can I download those fonts?
there is a full Arabic rom with the phone in UAE this is the proof but with out market we trying to dump that rom or wait until the rom uploaded to

you can dump /system folder that what we need by writing this to adb shell or terminal in your phone (your phone should be rooted and busybox installed)
su
tar -cvf /sdcard/dump.tar /system
you will find dump.tar in you scard (size ~268MB) and you can compress it and upload it to Rapidshare or mediafire or what ever you like
I will make it installable through update.zip or Odin3
Thank you

Mumtaz Hani, Great work man, I am downloading it right now !
Can I use JFF CSC file rather than the JG1 with your ROM ?
Hani, the link for downloading the ROM seems to have an Issue!
Indeed amazing work Hani,
I was wondering if you mind sharing the font files only, and if it will work if I install only them without the whole ROM since I already use another one. Will there be problems?
Thanks.
I have JG1 with JFF CSC, I'm going to try to install the update.zip only and see if it works !
I just went to that forum and noticed that there is someone that already asked the same question and Hani told him that he have to use Hex Editor or else it wont work.
Any one knows something about Hex editing that can make a mini guide on how to do it?
Thanks.
Hani amazing
It maybe a good idea to post this in english in xda...what do you think
I rooted my device and i pushed the market but unfortunatly i cant see protected apps anyone able to?

so you deleted the original DroidSansFallback.ttf, renamed the windows tahoma.ttf and copied it instead to /system/fonts/?

Greetings to everyone. I haven't spent much time here lately but last month I've got myself a I9000, so I will keep it short.
Is there a possibility to find .apk for the new Samsung Task Manager version 1.6, and will it work on the froyo firmware XWJPA.
Thanks in advance for any answeres.
P.S. I've searched the forums but couldn't find the answer.

Downloading app. It seems that I need to deodex my rom to try this. Doing it now. Someone should try this also.
EDIT: Tried all but failed with the message: Problem parsing file.
Any solutions perhaps?

Don't think you needed to deodex as it came from official stock JVB ROM, did you just install it like a regular apk?
Use Root Explorer and go to /system/app/ mount it as R/W and move (not copy) the apk's there.
Let me know if that sorts the problem, it's how I've got apps from SGS 2 to run on mine.
Ha! This is just not going to work. Tried simple copying/moving to system/app/ and no luck. If anyone finds a way he can post it here.
Thanks for your help DMD9. A greatly appreciate it.

What did you move them with? If you just used the built in file manager then it won't work, you need to use Root Explorer with the folder mounted as R/W.
Happy to help, but would be happier if you actually get it working
Yes, I used root explorer and mounted the file system. I know that much There is no chance. If you have some other idea I am willing to try it, if not, I'll wait for the official app if it comes out.

Can anyone tell me how to exclude some languages from Swype???
Not sure, but when I installed the latest Swype beta, I had the choice of either ALL languages or, English & Spanish. So if you only need English and Spanish, could be an option.

For what reason do you want to do so?
If you just want to exclude some languages from list, you can edit languages.lst and helplanguages.lst, into Swype.apk/assets/files/, put them back and sign apk.
If you want to reduce apk size, then it is more complicated.
1. Edit these 2 files.
2. Delete unnecessary language files from Swype.apk/assets/files/
3. Delete unnecessary keyboards from Swype.apk/assets/keyboards/
4. Delete unnecessary tutorials from Swype.apk/assets/tutorial
5. Make sure you didn't delete something wrong.
6. Sign apk.
...
7. PROFIT!

Hi Guys,
ive started to translate MIUI to my own language norwegian,
i am using apktool to decode and compile the apk's
creating a new dic called values-no and place my own strings in there.
everything seems fine, i use root explorer to place my apk's in the system/app/ dic reboots my phone and absolutely nothing happends!
(I've even checked on settings -> system -> language & input settings.
i think i must be missing something crucial!
please help, i understand english well and have no problem with it really, but it would be cool to finnish it and make it happend.
I figured that my lang prefix must be wrong, stumbled upon it when i installed ubuntu yesterday.
Going to try 'nb-no' instead of 'no' tonight
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Nobody seems to care, but if someone should care for future referanse the name should be "values-nb"

No one may have responded, but don't take that as a sign that no one cares. Someone, somewhere, will eventually stumble upon this thread looking for an answer to something you already know. I always suggest to post a fix for a question you asked. It'll help someone out eventually.
hehe, yeah thats why i postet it too.
and a tips: if you are working on translating an apk, and your'e not sure wich prefix you should use on values-xx simply decode Vending.apk(Market)(or another apk you know to contain your language) go into \res\ and you will find a values-xx folder with your language.
Hi,
Manage to come across your post... Did you finally make it? I'm also translating miui for my phone, in my language, i tested translating the mms.apk. However i didn't seem to see the changes.
How do you add your language as a separate language in the settings menu? Cause what I'm doing is changing the /values which shows the changes, but what i really want to do is a separate /values-xx so that i can go back and forth to the default and my own language.
Hope you could help. Thanks in advance.
Hi
Norwegian is in the Language pack?

I found this out yesterday...you need the NFC services app
You can get the app from another rom - I downloaded existanz (as I plan to try it at some point) and got it from there.
Use a root file explorer to navigate to system/app and paste the app there. Set it's permissions correctly (the same as every other app in this folder) and reboot.
Sorry I can't help with the file, it's on my phone but I used a buggy recovery today and have wiped my boot.img - won't be able to repair it until I get home.

I've tried yet, but didn't work for me. I really think this app is deleted because it doesn't appear in the settings menu too.
@ Parkside : goode idea, i will try to find it in other rom, thanks
Edit : my problem is solved, just take the NFC app from another rom and copy this with a root file explorer with correct permissions
