Any way to get Bing Maps to work on the Xoom? Even in the browser? A lot of the areas I viewed on the PC were much better looking and detailed than google maps when in the satellite view and I'd love to have it on the Xoom. I found an old verizon bing app apk, but it doesn't look like it does when viewing maps on a PC.
Have you tried alternate browsers? Opera or Dolphin maybe.

You should give a try to orux maps from market. It's free and the developer has done some excellent work. If you choose online maps and select some Microsoft's map it's actually bing's map.

I just tried it and it seems to work now. First time it didn't load the maps in the right frame. Still not ideal, but it works.

I like this app, but it doesn't do the high quality birds eye view that Bing maps has.

Is google maps 3d available yet? I have played with google maps on my xoom but don't seem to have the 3d version ... unless I am missing something.
Its there, you just have to zoom in far enough then use the two finger gesture to bring it into 3d mode
Cheers!

Anyone having issues with Facebook loading up both on the web browser and on the market app?
I wonder if it's just not playing nicely with Honeycomb and won't play well with the browser due to Flash support??
Any thoughts. I'm very confused on this...

Just tried both. No issues here.
Mine didn't work until I removed the fb widget from the home screen.

The app stinks right now. I've saved the web version as an icon on my homepage. Looks great but I've noticed some lag using the forms on facebook

The facebook apps works for me, although the size, proportions and orientation all look pretty funky. By using facebook through the browser I havnt had any major issues other than when u click on a picture, it brings up their new picture viewer. The always seems to hang on me or I have problems closing it.

Is there any offline map app available? I'm using maps from Google but it only works online. Thanks!

I haven't used it, but a friend highly recommends Copilot. It is a paid app, and relatively pricey (10 bucks or so), but from what I understand, it downloads the maps while you're on wi-fi so that you have them even without a data connection.
Gaia Topo (I got it as a free Amazon app of the day) is supposed to let you download maps for offline use.

Hi,
I bought today the last version of Thinkfree Office Mobile HD ( 4.1.110728 especially designed for honeycomb ) and I found it very very good
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tf.thinkdroid.hdamarket
I tried Quickoffice HD , Documents to go , Picsel Smart Office but for me Thinkfree is much better.
It has a very good compatibility with MS office documents ( Word, Excel and Powerpoint ) and it is optimized for use with tablet ...
finally i can use the tablet instead of my laptop also for work !!
Not bad.....no dropbox or Google docs is a deal killer for anyone that already has their life set up.

Yeah, it's not perfect , but i read that Google docs support will be a next feature.
For dropbox I open docs through the dropbox app , not a big trouble
hm, 10 bucks. I already have quick office but imo it kinda sucks. I was gonna just use splashtop to RDP to my desktop at home but my school's network blocks it, those dicks.
It's pretty crashy.
That and the weirdo line wrapping made me refund/uninstall it.

ssh port forwarding is your friend
I don't see why this is so good. I prefer QuickOffice HD Pro myself over this one.

In my case, the layout of the complex word documents (with tables and images floating) is much better the Quickoffice HD and have best supporting excel pages with complex formulas.
Horrid instead is the management of line wrapping on Thinkfree ...
I think so too.
I bought this app in realease day.
But this app needs more features.
But i satisfied.

imo, not a winner, yet... no dropnox and couldn't open a couple of my word and dtg files... however, best ui out there and good rendering of some files that dtg and picsel disformed... lots of promise if upgraded and supported... good enough to keep, update and watch, but I'll keep using dtg primarily and picsel secondarily and just use this when neither works until it is improved. For those using quickoffice, though, I think this would be an upgrade... but I thout QO-HD was such a poc I uninstalled and ate my losses.
Im gonna try this

Been trying for about two days to get this working, was really annoying me that when i got the nexus 7, i could not use i player.
So here it is for the others that are having problems with it.
Install the two apk's attached.
If you have been trying to get it working with other versions of iplayer and flash, please go into app manager and clear the cache and data of these apps before opening them.
go to apps and launch i player and enjoy.
No need to use other browsers now.
just installed those files, working well. thanks.
Nice one cheers

I have installed BBC iPlayer and flash player and cleared the data like you said but when I open BBC iplayer chrome opens up and says I ned to update flash. What should I do thank you
Simple indeed but The picture quality is a bit crud with this method _ if u install flash and Firefox or dolphin mini and set to desktop user agent you can just go to the iPlayer website and select and the stream adjusts to your bandwidth and you can view the HD streams too! You have to put up with the flakiness of flash in a browser but you can still watch in glorious techno vision.

Works great, but couldn't get dolphin to work with flash and Firefox isn't compatible,so I'm really grateful for this until we get an official app.

Fantastic all working.

Edited: I meant to say use the Firefox beta from play and then set request desktop - then go to normal iPlayer website.
So far is most stable way to get high quality viewing and HD options. HD stuff looks awesome - other versions just look poo in comparison.
If u want to show someone iPlayer on N7 then the above is the easiest and best imo

Funny thing that, im no expert here, but when i wiped the Nexus and re installed the i player and flash as i said above, i got the same thing. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could explain. But also i Rooted the device and set the dpi to 160 for tabley mode before i installed. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I installed Firefox Beta from the play store, it works if before going to the iplayer site you set it to Desktop mode.
Nice one, works a treat!

I was born in England, and as such I really like all the tv programmes ect, but the app says it only works in the UK.
Cheers

That's because here in the UK we pay a hefty licence fee for the privilege.
I was using firefox beta + sideloaded flash, but will give this a go. Thanks OP.
