I haven't seen ANYTHING about this so now I'm wondering if its just me/mine. While welding at work, I keep my ringers, notification sounds, and all sound n tones at full volume so I can hear (and feel) when it rings, but when my boss or co-worker needs to talk to me and I get a text msg or email and the ringtone is blastin over their talking, there ain't no way to make it stop immediately. I gota pull out my phone, push the talk, end, or trackball and wait for the screen to light up, then slide to unlock (then wait for it to unlock), then slide down notification bar THEN ITLL STOP THE TONE. My company doesn't mind our personal phones and calls, its just rude that I can't make it stop without the whole process above. Can anyone help me with this?

Make it to where notifications are silent..... or go in to your menu and go to sound settings and turn your notification volume down. Simple

If I set it to silent, I won't hear it while welding. I gota have the volume max. I just wana be able to instantly stop the notification ringer IF it happens to start blasting while I'm talking to someone. Any better ideas, anybody?

Just hit your volume button and it will stop
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
^^ yes. hitting the volume button will silence all notifications, but will not send them to voicemail.
In all honesty, I tried hitting the volume buttons, and every button on the phone, no luck. Before the update hitting the volume buttons would silence everything but now it only works with phone calls but not other notifications. But thanks anyways everyone.

Set notification tones as short (<1.5 seconds), loud tones.

I noticed this today also. When you have notifications set for texts you can't silence them. I've tried volume buttons trackball send button camera button And the end button. All would not silence it. Volume button will silence calls but not texts. This doesn't matter to me at all because I just use the stock short notifications because I hate long ones. Just putting that out there

I don't really know techy stuff tho is the point. If you can get on Xda you can search just like I do. And when reading isn't enough I go to proper places outside Xda to get live help. Like openzio.

Lvh on the market has louder hacks for everything, from speaker to bluetooth to headphones to in call. If you're too cheap to buy it, his website tells you how to do it manually.
Edit: I'm an ass, that's exactly what he linked too. Lol
It works, but the little speaker can only handle so much before breaking up.

What is that dreadful rattle noise that seems to come with the haptic feedback of every HTC phone? Sometimes the feedback seems fine then the weird rattle comes back. Had this phone one day btw. Dropped it once though.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Have had mine for a few days now and has only had one fall from a few inches off the ground so I know my issue isn't from damage.
The haptic feedback seems okay for the most part, but any other vibration is crazy loud/rattles. Even while holding in your hand and not just rattling on the desk or something. Seems to be a common problem.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Sounds like a QC issue. It should not be like that. Mine is silent when vibrating, unless on a table or something hard that resonates the sound.

Interesting. Yeah mine makes the sound only when sitting on a hard surface, or if my hand is in a certain spot on the phone. I hate that sound so much though.

I can say that the vibration sound is quite loud and annoying. And it is only when holding it certain ways. Straight up a s down it makes no noise. At a 45° angle it is quite loud as well as holding it flat.

It's the worst! It's like this with every HTC phone I've had. I just turn off all haptic on HTC phones because it annoys me so much.
Makes me second guess not going with the s4

The vibration issue makes me want to take this back and exchange it in store. The data issues and next to impossible streaming capability(have not yet been able to stream a YouTube video using mobile data) make me want to just take it in and exchange for the s4.
The over all build quality and believe it or not, the ui and software makes me want to keep the One.
Still have about 10 days left to make my decision.

Just a quick suggestion for the future: it's courteous to use an informative subject line when you post, so readers who scan through the forum's list of threads can tell at a glance whether they're interested in clicking on your post.
Since this is a forum for questions about the AT&T Note 3, the subject line "Question about At&t Galaxy Note 3" tells us nothing we didn't already know. A useful subject line would be something like "Why does my phone vibrate when it's touched?".
Wow my bad for putting At&t in subject line

lolwut? The problem isn't that you put AT&T in the subject line. It's that your subject line is useless because is says nothing about the actual subject of the post.
Lol not here to argue just here for help. So thanks to those that answered my question I will stick to that.

Has anyone else noticed how sensitive the screen is? I constantly find my phone has woke up because of a notification. Then my pocket does all kinds of random things. pockt dialing, pocket facebooking, pocket gaming and last but not least pocket txting lol.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I497 using xda app-developers app
Yeah its meant to be. If you go to settings>control>auto-adjust screen sensitivity and uncheck the box it should help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Oh I know about that. Thats for when you have gloves on. Its not checked. The screen is just sensitive. Its not bad just alot more sensitive than any of my other galaxy series of phones.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I497 using xda app-developers app
Same issue and my friend has the same problem. If they'd get rid of the stupid screen on for notifications it would help but it's also not good that when squatting down its easy to press the home button in your pocket since it's not fully flush with the body. Thus allowing you to still accidentally unlock it the same way
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I do enjoy the sensitivity for normal use. It's the abnormal things that get you lol.

If you're rooted, you can make the home button not wake up the device with Wanam. I found that this caused a more problems than the brief wake on receiving text messages.
Not sure how to make it not wake the screen when you get a text message.
I've never seen it wake the screen for anything other than text and calls, though.

Seems my swipe to answer takes anywhere from 3 to 5 swipes before it will actually answer the call. Is this an isolated thing or are others having the same issue? Missed plenty of calls because of it.

I find this problem on every Android phone I ever owned, touched or played with.
I changed it to Home Button to answer the call,it's a lot better (you can change in ACCESSIBILITY).
Resting my finger on the answer slider for a split second seems to be helping. Kind of annoying that I have to do this on a brand new phone but what can I do...thanks guys
Hold your finger on the answer button until the green ring gets larger, then swipe.

I think this is a pocket guard feature if your phone is facing your leg. Just my two cents. Don't think it can be disabled.

your right on with that answer, there is about a 500 millisecond delay for swipe to answer in order to prevent the accidental answering of a call while its in your pocket/purse/briefcase etc. this can be modified by changing some smali code in the incallui.apk (i believe) but i wouldnt recomend it.
i find my phone calling people from time to time. when i take it out of my pocket. lol.. dont think the feature is helping me t all.
