Has anyone else noticed how sensitive the screen is? I constantly find my phone has woke up because of a notification. Then my pocket does all kinds of random things. pockt dialing, pocket facebooking, pocket gaming and last but not least pocket txting lol.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I497 using xda app-developers app
Yeah its meant to be. If you go to settings>control>auto-adjust screen sensitivity and uncheck the box it should help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Oh I know about that. Thats for when you have gloves on. Its not checked. The screen is just sensitive. Its not bad just alot more sensitive than any of my other galaxy series of phones.

Same issue and my friend has the same problem. If they'd get rid of the stupid screen on for notifications it would help but it's also not good that when squatting down its easy to press the home button in your pocket since it's not fully flush with the body. Thus allowing you to still accidentally unlock it the same way

I do enjoy the sensitivity for normal use. It's the abnormal things that get you lol.

Wait... your phone wakes up when you get a notification? Like the screen turns on when you receive an email or text? My phone stays locked and just flashes the LED light.

If you're rooted, you can make the home button not wake up the device with Wanam. I found that this caused a more problems than the brief wake on receiving text messages.
Not sure how to make it not wake the screen when you get a text message.
I've never seen it wake the screen for anything other than text and calls, though.

Hey guys!!
So i'm a proud owner of the white international version of the Xperia Z, but there is a problem that I've noticed with the phone!
When i make calls, and the other end picks up, phone screen turns black, I try and turn the screen on with power button and no luck, the screen is unresponsive and does not turn back on until the other end hangs up!
Glitch in the software? Anyone else by any chance?
BTW phone is rooted
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* and check if the proximity sensor is working.

Thanks!
just dial that number, i went to service test and i presume proximity switch (no proximity sensor) and on the screen it says 'Proximity switch ON' and made a beep sound
So, by any chance has anyone else got this problem? Please help

It should say off and on with the beep.

Yes I did! I never thought the spigan glas.t would be the cause!
I've been giving my headaches thinking about this!
Guess the solution is to either remove glas.t or the proximity sensor app.
Thank you both for the advice and help

Yeah I did that nothing happened, I think it's what pvilla mentioned above with the screen protector.

Has anyone else had trouble doing simulated battery pull? Ive done it before but when I just went to try it, it gets to 1 sec and doesnt reboot. Even held 30 secs longer and nothing. Anyone have any idea why that is? Will it only allow simulated battery pull when phone freezes?

Weird how the proximity sensor can effect the powering on/off of a device. Never had that probem before. Then again Ive only owned one other phone without a removable battery. Had the htc 4g lte for a short time before getting this htc one. Is this just a software "glitch" that could be fixed with an software update or something in the htc one hardware?
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Sad part is, wasnt long ago I read somewhere on xda how someone was told to do the bright light when they couldnt get their phone to power on and it worked. Never dawned on me to try that to restart it..well simulate battery pull anyways. Never seems to restart (maybe Im just impatient lol) without pressing power to get it to boot back up.

You just aim the light sensor but the speak to a bright light and press n hold power?

I only got this phone yesterday and I was wondering if the 2 buttons with side of the HTC logo should light up?
Mine don't light up and there hard to see in the dark...
I tried finding a setting but I can't see anything.
Thanks for replies

Yes they should light up when the phone is in use
They do light, but not at any time. I Guess it has something to do with the auto-brightness-sensor... So if it dark it'll turn on the button lights

Can you add whatever app you want? Let's say I use handcent. Can I set the active notification to handcent instead of the stock app?
In other words, can you set any app to use the active notification or does each app developer have to support it?

Yep and it's ridiculously annoying. I just went to the AT&T store to see if their display model is as loud as mine and it is, along with the 3 other phones they let me look at. That kinda sets my mind at ease knowing my phone isn't defective- I was seriously considering exchanging it based on the vibration alone. But now I'm keeping it, and I'm happy.

Oh okay, I don't mind that.
Mostly out of habit, I've been hitting the power button to get the regular unlock screen which doesn't vibrate with haptic disabled.
Ok Here is the deal, I heve my phone in my pocket with my bluetooth headset connected and I get a call. The screen turns on and is fully active in my pocket. This has disconnected my blue tooth, hung up on people and just made my life suck when calling on this phone. I have tested it by calling it with the sensors covered and it lights right up, then I uncover the sensor and nothing happens. So then I disconect the bluetooth and cover the sensor and the screen go out, uncover it and the screen turns back on. I have spent alot of time looking for a setting and have called Samsung but no one knows how to fix this problem. I have had every att varient since the captivate and have never had this problem. So is anyone else haveing this problem???? Thanks for the replies!!!

Wow dude I've been having the same problem! So annoying to be going up a flight of stairs and hear it making the drip sound on the unlock screen. I thought maybe it was because some notification is turning the screen in (while others don't) . Or maybe my thigh was pressing the physical button (I hate the physical button because it can be triggered by anything). Not sure about the bluetooth issue.

Same here. I have a Best Buy rubbery minimal case on mine, and I get screenshots and start S voice in my pocket. I have found a small workaround. I my instance, I always put my phone in my right pocket with Samsung logo down. This will always wake my phone when I squat down. But if I put it in my pocket Samsung logo up, it nearly never happens. Not the most ingenious of solutions, but works for me.
I ended up turning off air wake up in accessibility settings. It seemed to be turning on my phone every time I placed the phone face down on the desk or in my pocket. Had nearly 5 hours of screen on time without knowing it the other day.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That setting is off already. I have checked everything twice!
I hate this problem! I finally bought an S-View knockoff case from China for about $20. I don't do anything worth the S-View app but the cover keeps the phone from turning on and doing accidental presses. Plus, I like the extra protection on the screen.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Free mobile app
Ya I went to att to figure out this problem and they told me to get a S view case to stop the problem. I didn't like the idea of spending $50 on a case that I don't like but this phone is hanging up on my customers, so I got one. The good thing was they gave me 50% off and I used the isis money to pay for it. I hope they get that this is a problem and fix it soon, I need to use a different case.

This is the problem though, I don't think the screen should come on in your pocket. The proximity sensor should not let the screen comes on till the phone is taken out of your pocket to keep things like what I described from happening.

Same here - really annoying. I have been forced to use the default lock screen (with pattern) due to the screen coming on when i receive a text. If I use slide unlock only, I inadvertently launch apps, change settings, etc. I interact with my phone way too much to be using a pattern every time I pull my phone out of pocket. Extremely annoying, Samsung!
