As most of you may know, a T-Mobile Galaxy Tab will not allow you to insert a SIM card from a phone and use it for data, even if you already have an Android data plan on your account and on that number. Bought a new tab from a private owner, and was pissed off about that. However, I have a G2, and remembered something I had configured on my phone.
So, I found an easy way to resolve this. My G2 does 4G. Instead of putting the sim into the Galaxy Tab, I enabled the wifi hotspot feature and used that to connect the Tab to the Internet. At 4G speeds. On my unlimited data plan. For free. Saves me more than a grand/yr (assuming the $85/mo+taxes cost of the 10gb/mo plan which I don't have to pay).
Take =that= T-Mobile. Bet your greedy, beady-eyed beancounter (read "Business Prevention Officer") boys didn't think about =that= one... <chuckle>
I know this is an old thread, but I just did not want people to be discouraged from buying this awesome tablet because of misinformation.
There is an alternative solution.

I have a sprint galaxy tab that someone had programmed to hook up with Boost Mobile. If I want to activate it with Sprint, is there any programming that I need to clear out/change before I activate it?
My Verizon Galaxy Tab 7" has no data service. keeps on searching for network or saying unknown. I have tried everything that I know i have reset it, turn off and on data service, put in airplane mode tried to reactive with no success. I still have coverage but the network does not work.
It is not rooted just a normal Galaxy Tab.
Please Help
I See know one can help me
Hey Guys;
Keep getting "Mobile data is not available or invalid sim" every time I try to turn on tethering. I have a AT&T S4 Active unlocked, I did not unlock it, it was unlocked when I purchased it from Negri electronics. Any solutions?
Thanks

Are you under AT&T or Sprint? They block tethering by default. You have to buy tethering dataplans or work this around.
There's probably a thread for this already where somebody described similar behavior. There is said that this process solved the problem but root was needed. There are also third-party apps for tethering. Since S4 Active is pretty much S4, try searching threads for S4 if this won't help or lead you to success.
Good day!
I currently have an unbranded Samsung S6 Duos which I bought from Samsung itself.
I bought a T-Mobile sim and I can text/call/data pretty well but sometimes when people call me it goes straight to Voice Mail.
Any one know how to fix this?
1. My phone does not have Wi-Fi Calling.
2. Voice call -> Always Forward (Set to Turned off)
My device:
Samsung S6 Duos SM-G920FD 64GB
I have a feeling its when I am connected to Wi-Fi that it tends to mix Wi-Fi and my network up. My network is currently on LTE, and I have no VoLTE
Anyone have solutions?
