Battery Charger Monitor App??? - Captivate Themes and Apps

Looking for an App to run on my Captivate and Samsung Galaxy Tablet to help figure out which chargers are charging and at what rate. I think that if the data wires are shorted, the Captivate says "Charging (AC) ". It has nothing to do with how much juice.

[Q] Charge status question..

Hi.
Sorry for this noobish question but I really don't have any idea if this thing is charging or not -- I have attach an image when device is powered off.. though it looks like it is charging but every time I turn the device on it says that it is not charging on status settings menu, and got that "Connect your charger" on the lock screen.
Sounds as if insufficient current.
Are you using original wall charger?

No. My sister give this to me but she forget to send the wall charger, so what I'm using is my current HTC adapter. So this is how tab works? lol. Darn. I thought chargers are all the same.
My charger (original) is rated at 2.0A
I think it does need rather high current.

you can charge it with lower current as long as you turn off your tab (just like what you are doing in the picture), but it will take at least half a day to charge it.
You can probably charge it slightly faster by connecting it to the computer with Fast Charge enabled. FWIW my Tab charges just fine with a 650ma, a 1A, and the 2A stock charger.

[Q] My tab won't charge, battery pic comes on and then dissappears

Dear XDA tribe,
My dad recently handled me his Samsung Galaxy Tab P-1000.
It has been on my desk for a long time without turning it on, like it hasn't been used for over than 5 months.
Now I got an adapter and I wanted to charge it and use it.
I plugged in the charger and the battery appeared and it was charging a bit green. I gave it an hour then tried to power up the tab, it did not work.
Now when I put it in the charger it gives me the following, and it keeps appearing and disappearing. On and on.
I would really like your help, thanks in advance.
What is that white cable?
Do you have the original cable and charger?

Thanks for the fast reply, it feels good to have someone helping.
Don't mind the white cable, they're just headphones.
I have attached a pic of my cable charger.
Should be right charger, doesn't look like mine but mine is USA plug.
The symptom you describe, it is as if the connection isn't good.
Try plug it snugly and leave it for 5-8hr and see how it goes.
Edit: is the charger rated 2A?

It used to charge with it, like I could see the battery getting more greener and all. But it doesn't do that now.
I tried getting it into the download mode, ODIN finds it, and looses it in 2 seconds.
The charger says as follows;
OUTPUT: 5.0V = 1.0A
Well, his charger looks different as he is from Riyadh. Priyana's method should work
But mine is 2A. I think this charger is a bit underrated. Should be ok still. But charge slower. Don't go flashing until it is full.

Well, I don't really think it is charging.
I left it for an hour now, it's still doing the same thing.
Would it be a good idea to open it apart so I can remove the battery and let it work straight on the electric plug?
Hhmm..
I think the circuit doesn't work that way.
But you can charge using a PC USB port too albeit slow.
I still think you don't have the right wall charger.
Sure it isn't mixed up with some other Samsung device?
Edit: attached picture of my charger, with the removable bit to change the pin plug, I suspect a UK plug is available.

So you still think I should get another charger. Although this one used to charge it.
So you don't recommend opening the device?

Yes, just keep charging. You know that car charger may work better? Those that goes to cigarette lighter.
Car batt has higher amp and the DC charging is more pure than AC to DC.
I don't recommend opening and I don't know if it works.
In my HTC magic, if I take out the battery, the charger won't power up the phone.
The point is, just keep charging if you can, on PC, USB 2/3 or car.

Alright, I fixed it. Here's what happened;
I thought that since the connection seems to be interrupted, I thought that it was time to change the battery since so much time has passed on and the device didn't work.
So I got a new battery, installed it and WA LA !
THE GALAXY IS BACK TO LIFE AGAIN!
Thanks for your help everybody!
Thank you Priyana

Losing battery with charger connected

Recently I noticed that my phone is losing charge while charging, yes im using it but I still think I should gain charge and not be losing it. Is anybody else have this problem?
I get this problem the most when using MHL adaptor, I can be watching a film, from the sd card, and lose almost 60-70% of battery (screen brightness at lowest, and stock charger) is there a way to turn the screen off and use hdmi that I have missed that can help?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Probably the MHL adaptor only accepts 500mAh input. The USB standard, instead of the rated 1500mAh the original charger provides.

Try that to turn off the screen. Needs root.
Thanks, I'll give that a go

If you use non sony cable, stock charger will charge with only 500mah.
Use proper charger and usb cable.
I have afew micro usb cables and, every one of them have different charging current. Find the best cable and charger with nova battery monitor application from market.

Wrong
Daniel ! You need to ensure your adapter isn't charging on SSM3 mode. This was the case with me, I disabled it and it fixed the problem.
Are you the guy that is **** at basketball ? thought so ...
What do you mean SSM3? Are do I know you?? Haha

losing charge can happen on a proper charger too depending on the use of the device - obviously, aside from trying to get the battery hungry screen turned off you can also turn all radios off that isn't used. kill very battery hungry tasks (normally killing tasks for battery purposes is no good idea, but if one have gone crazy, go ahead and kill it ) you can also try to lower the cpu's max frequency, but of course not so low that the movie can't get played.. hope this helped a bit

Slow charging, even discharging

I don't have the iriginal charger, so I use a 1amper charger I used on my Sensation. The charger of the One seems to be the same, so why does my phone charge so slow? For the first time today I played a game and the battery discharges while the charger us plugged in. Maybe the input is limited, cause the phone knows it's not the original charger? Please help

Cord went bad, use/buy a new one.
What's the maximum charge speed of this phone? I used battery monitor widget and it doesn't charge faster than 600 ma

Usb 2.0 charger still works on gs5

Was on my way to the store to buy a charger no rep was available to assist me so I started playing with the s5 demo phone and noticed they were charging it with a USB 2.0 so basically they're lack of service saved me 25$. Thanks At&t
I noticed this the other night. I also noticed that the supplied 3.0 cord would not work with an old usb wall charger

yeh no doubt, I can't believe how fast this thing charges. My i777 was so slow to charge full, maybe 3-4 hours? S5 is like just over an hour or so to 100%, much faster then even our iPhones which were only a little quicker than i777. I thought i remember someone saying on older Androids Sammy and others like capped the current or something, at least on the i777 and other Sammy phones that's what people were saying, which is why it was so slow to charge even on a wall charger as it was capped too. Not sure of the truth there, but USB 3 and S5 is blazing fast charging for a 2800mh battery.

This is only on laptop's that have USB 3.0.
If you have a 2 amp charger it will charge it at 2 amps regardless of connector.
I am using my note 10.1 2014 2 amp charger, charges just fine and just as fast.
