Wired sound quality?

It's probably okay for some people, but I find the sound quality from my diamond leaves something to be desired. I've used the SRS WOW thing but I think now I'm up against the hardware limitations...
Does anyone know / have an opinion on whether the major limitation on sound quality is the phone itself or the headphones? I was thinking of getting some decent headphones (and a converter) and, although this will definitely improve the sound quality somewhat, is the output from the phone good enough to justify this... or would I have more satisfaction from, say, setting fire to my money ?

the headphones supplied with the Diamond are sh*te.
i have made a adaptor out of the original headphones, so i can plug in a decent set, sounds much better!

I only have the original headset, and it is indeed very low quality, but when I use my Motorola S9 it's a whole different experience.
I know the S9 is expensive, but it's worth every penny.

Interesting! So, essentially, the problem seems to be the headphones. Anyone else have any experience?

yeh, what i did was take the diamond headphone, cut the actual ear pieces off and solder on a 3.5mm socket, so i can plug any headphones in

My new wired headset
I have simply removed standard headphones and has soldered in others, sennheiser cx300. That's all.
And now a have great sound!!!

There's a thread somewhere that says that they work pretty well with the diamond. Or (now) a moto s9, as they are apparently so awesome...

Nxt things i will work on..

1) a 3.5 mm fm transmitter which will work on any 3.5 mm jacked device.
It should be purely analog. And contains a in built li- ion battery. Draws audio from 3.5 mm jack and send it on air in the tuned frequency.
2) a docking station with audio playback and usb charging. ( trying to figure out the methods through htc music head phone controls volume, next, previous, and stop/ play music) . So that i can add an ir remote too..

Nop. Thatz not a device specific one. But the thing is in case of dock, i have only hd2 with me for checking. Thats why i go for htc. If some 1 can provide me the headphone diagrams of other phones, it will help me 2 develop a generic dock.
And about readymade tx and dock, nop i am not going 2 buy them. I am going 2 make them. Thatz it.

this one is what i am planning to build, removing the mic , then adding a low ohms resistor in series to the i/p, and then connect it to the 3.5 mm male pin(for inserting into 3.5mm jack). adding a small 3.5 v li-ion battery,and a usb or similar charging port. and enclose it in a small box..
for now its a mono tx. but you can bulid a sterio one with ba1404 ic, but i cant get one here.. so i went for mono. but i will give u the circuit for sterio one

I own three of these bad boys, its great they connect up to each other each with 3.5 out put and each has its own 3.5 in put so theoretically you could have an infinate chain of these. Each has its own battery. I have a wire connected to mine to extend the reach between the device and speakers

I have these too, great little speakers. They'll go nicely plugged into the official docking station when it's finally available in the UK.

X-minis are pretty damn impressive for the size of the things if you place them on a suitably resonant surface. I've got a Beacon Phoenix now though, mainly bought for the convenience of Bluetooth but that sounds even better for its size and doesn't have an irritatingly short cable

50 bucks vs 2x20 for a pair of Mini II and a special mini stereo to pair of mini mono cable. I should point out that you can always get the stereo to pair of mono cable to expand that mini at any time. Also you can get the max ones for less than 50. I love my X-minis , have the II, the Max II and the Kai (bluetooth).
They get used by everyone in the family and I'll often use them with my N7 for streaming radio (buddyjacked or chained) or watching a movie.

this was a tricky one but got there, had problems with the power as the facia is only so wide I filed down part of the inside and made a bezel so it sits back which accommodates the space for the USB cable I then had to make sure it would stay in place etc

I have it running so ingition on= tablet wake, car home ultra starts- CHU sorts out the brightness- IE in the dark
ignition off tablet closes all apps and goes into deep sleep

Looking good, is there a big difference between using dac and headphones out ? I'm doing the same thing for my car but with main functionality sat nav and reverse camera (easycap + analog camera)

In your opinion, what is the best way get AA on a mazda 2013 radio?

I have a question, I hope I can be clear enough given the lot of context and specif terms I'm missing on the matter, thanks in advance for your answers!
I have one of these:
mazda 6 2013, rear camera, wheel controls (phone, vol, mode, assistant), bose sound (I think that is relevant in terms of hw such as can bus?)
I basically love it but I'm still missing e.g. waze, g maps on that little screen while driving.
I have seen newer cars that can be upgraded to android auto without losing any features; I was wondering.
- are you aware if there is any external "AA module" that can be plugged to the car radio and, e.g. upgrade aux port to wire my phone into it?
- if there is no such a module, can something like this be done e.g. by tricking the radio to somehow receive video signal (like the reverse camera function) from a AA dongle or the phone itself?

Upgrade car or buy genuine aftermarket AA unit (not aliexpress). Avoid adapters, they are junk.
Seek local reputable installer.

I'm considering those as well; however I find myself overwhelmed by the fact the unit has to speak to many parts of the car (not as many as with new cars, tho!), talking about rear camera, steering wheel controls, assistant button, aux ports and such.
I would still do it that way if I do not lose features (I would love to even turn the "assistant" button on the steering wheel to the real thing!)
