I was flashing EZ base and not paying attention (see attachedfile).
Now my SGS doesnt even respond to the power button! Is there ANYTHING I can do??
Please help
Plug the phone into the usb port then switch on phone. Does the pc detect a device?
i think i know you mate?
I recently soft bricked my phone and couldn't get into download mode the normal way.
What worked was holding the vol down button and the home button in (not the power button) and then plugging it into USB while holding them in. The USB power basically takes the role of pressing the power button.
I hope it works, good luck!
sorry mate but i just cant figure out how you could be so clumsy... so many times it is stated that you must be very careful with odin....
that is not helping, is there anything that can be done in the situation?

Sorry mate, I just can't figure out why you would post a such a useless unhelpful reply. I flash my phone on a regular basis with CM7/MIUI, mistakes can happen!
To everyone else, thanks, I got it working.... no idea but I read some bricked threads and tried out something... took the battery out, kept hammering the power button whilst putting the battery in with vol down and managed to get into DL mode.
Phew!
Hope you have your efs folder backed up. The SGS is hard to brick and one of the phones that can be unbricked easily. The only problem is with the efs (the files inside the efs folder stores your product code and the imei number.)
Just wanted to bring this to your notice if you haven't done it yet.
just bricked a samsung gt-i9000. Hopefully I can get help to recover. I made several mistakes or false assumptions.
1. I could never get the phone to boot into recovery or download mode by itself. (this is my wife's phone -uh oh - as my phone I had no problem doing this). But I installed adb sdk and could reboot it into recover or download that way, so went ahead with flash.
2. I was using an older perhaps guide to flashing MIUI which had different file names that no longer seem to exist but double checked a few places and got current version numbers on MIUI and cm7 kernel and etc., but I used a newer version of ODIN 1.82 instead of the 1.7. Thought that wouldn't matter but in my bricking searches found that it may be an issue.
So now I have the icon of ..phone ! computer... and no way of getting into download mode as adb can't see the device. Hopefully there is a way - I've tried the suggestions above but they aren't working. I hope as last resort I can make the jig I've seen mentioned.. but any other methods?
/jd
[edit] these two phones were purchased at the same time and have same firmwares. I did back up efs from my phone, and in this process of flashing wife's phone had uploaded the galaxy_efs_backup file but didn't get a chance for it to work. If efs is borked, can I use the one from my phone or are they unique to each device? (assuming I can unbrick). [/edit]

i got the semi brick icon once
i pressed vol down, home, then power and held them together until the phone booted once, then once more, then once more (I kept holding them for about 40 seconds I guess). Then took the battery out for a minute, then while holding all 3 buttons together, put it back in (this is tricky, you need to practice or have someone else to help you) and did another 40 second loops. Finally took the battery out, put it back in and tried download mode and it worked.
But I could get download mode before I bricked it...
thanks allotrios,
Gave it a valiant try and no luck. I'm going to have to figure out the jig I guess - I can't figure out how they plug in those largish looking usb jigs into that tiny proprietary (looking) usb port on the i9000. Videos say a cheap micro usb cable but I think i may have to cut into my SGS charging/usb cable. But doesn't look like the cables on videos/pics.

Hang on, one more thing you can try, worked for me just last weekend....
"Leave Odin Open. Then Plug the USB. While the USB is plugged in and Odin running press and hold volume down + Home + Power. Once the black screen comes release the Power Button. It will get to the download mode"
Worked like a charm, got it from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13630631#post13630631
If it works for you make sure you hit the thanks button of the guy that originally posted it
If you really need a JIG try this http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10031 with one of these http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/764289-res-301k-ohm-1-4w-1-metal-film-mfr-25fbf-301k.html
Taken from 1st post in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
Gave it a go and no luck. I was wondering if Odin v1.82 was a problem so dl'd and used Odin v1.3 (says GT-P1000 on the title bar of it) but didn't seem to matter. Tried both versions.
I had Odin running, plugged in the phone which brought up the "brick" icons, then held down the 3 buttons until it rebooted (black screen came on) and released power, still holding other two buttons. Nothing - just the icons of death. I'm very rural so have parts coming for a jig - might have them by Monday evening or mid-week. Lucky that the phone was really slow and buggy (build XXJP2) so wife didn't like it at all. She wants an iphone so was hoping to spiff this one up to curtail that move. /jd
[edit] My research says that some of these phones have a bad secondary bootloader that prevents the 3-button technique. Not sure if that is inclusive of all these methods mentioned in this thread - that they simply won't work on a phone with the bad bootloader or whether these methods have sometimes overcome that limitation. But I've found a few links to fix it if I can get the phone back from the dead..
My phone is rooted, how can find efs folder and can I save a backup my computer hard drive?
I do odin flashing, in case something goes wrong.

hey dude just download root explorer then open it u will find the efs folder in it
presss the efs folder for a second then there will be a popup in that u will find copy
just copy it and paste it in ur sd card
then connect ur phone to pc then u will find that efs folder
then just copy it to ur pc
Just a note to add data points on the bricking from my situation.
I read somewhere that a guy got his phone in download mode by plugging it into a bluetooth headset without it plugged into the charger. He figured it had built in resistance to help detect which device it was being plugged into and voila! he got download mode. (People in that thread asked which headset and he hadn't replied at that point so I don't know which).
I misread that at first to read a guy plugged the phone into his charger so I tried it (3 button combo and variations) and of course didn't work. But I was sitting there thinking about something else holding down the buttons and all of a sudden got it into download mode. The computers wouldn't recognize it though. So no luck - figured I had a jig coming so no biggy. Pulled the battery and tried again and it worked. This time I got into a download mode that the computer recognized.
So I flashed a kernel and got a "higher level" brick - got to first boot screen with words - but it just sat there vibrating. So tried a JVH single tar file an then got a boot loop up through the boot animations and noise. So am progressing - think I will try getting back to stock Froyo from samfirmware.com and see what goes from there. /jd

Now the phone will not power on to any state nor will it respond to being plugged into to the wall charger. I assume it is Bricked I have not seen anyone else refer to a completely Bricked phone. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas restoring it.
pull the battery for a few min, put it back in and try that
supposedly these phones are not supposed to brick. I would try and boot it without any cables or batteries in it just off the USB cable for power... did you make sure you pulled your sim card before you tried flashing?

well I hope they can not be bricked but this captivate is acting very brickish, thanks for the USB cable tip no dice though, and yes both the sim and SD card were removed thanks
I've had the best experience getting into download mode by:
1. remove sim and sd card
2. open odin
3. insert usb into PC only
4. hold vol. up and down simultaneously
5. insert usb into phone
phone will enter download mode, odin should recognize the device and show a COM connection (this is of course if you have the drivers installed first). Oh and I've noticed that the phone won't go into MTP mode if you are using the launcher pro - you need to switch back to twlauncher before connecting to odin.
when you opened odin the first time, what files did you try to flash? did you check any other boxes in odin?

Yeah, absolutely no luck getting to download mode using that or any other of the various routes. but just to be clear at this point the phone is completely dead I have no screen or response to USB. as far as Odin this was a one click package to revert to stock found at this link

their are no boxes to check like standard Odin, here is a screenshot so you know what I am talking about. Apparently most people in the thread have had great success with the current process I am trying to discover what I did incorrectly to create this problem but I am at a loss right know

It workes, Odin is picky though, you need the drivers listed there and you may need to install and uninstall them a few times before they work correctly. Also follow each step in the order it is written, Odin is picky (I need to say it again). Plenty of people have been in your shoes and they got them to go into download mode so go there and post your question.
Good Luck.

Well I got to admit I think I have bricked the unbrickable phone after rereading through the entire thread (my question was posted their the same time I posted here didn't realize that was the thread you were talking about). the few people who had the Black screen of death like myself either found that holding the up volume key and power would get the phone to a text screen and then they could get to the download screen. I have followed these directions Ad nauseam but nothing happens with my phone at all. well at worst I will have proven it can be done how inauspicious
I did the same thing and no one seemed to register that it would do nothing. It never got far enough to allow the pc to even recognize it had a device plugged in, therefor Odin never saw it. Some kind of strange filter in thier heads. All I could do was hit the power and volume up button to get some cryptic hex addresses and IRQ's. No matter how much I tried to power on, remove cards and batteries (overnight mind you) power did nothing. One thing I didnt try that a poster here sais was to plug in after you hit the volume buttons and power but I had to return mine.

Need some help trying to figure out how to make my Captivate turn on...I press power and get the AT&T slash screen and then the galaxy s logo loads for about 3 minutes and goes to blank dark screen with the capacitive buttons lit. this is not good because my **** won't boot into recovery either
You should flash to stock then...pull battery, hold volume buttons and plug in usb with odin loaded and ready on the computer. There's plenty of threads to help you out
Sent from my phone so excuse the spelling errors
Funnily enough... My phone just did that too. I was installing Mort Widget and it just totally bricked...
I'm rather p!ssed at this...
Course this was after it deleted all my email accounts and SMS.
What you'll need.
Odin (search or look in any of the ROM/Firmware threads, for example the i9000 ROM or unofficial JH2 or JH3 ROM)
Your USB cable.
The firmware files.
Steps:
Remove battery, SIM card and micro SD card.
Open Odin on the computer.
Put the battery back in.
Plug in the USB cable to the phone.
Hold both volume up and down.
With VOL up/down held in, plug usb cable to the computer.
Your phone will show the beloved DOWNLOADING yellow image.
Odin:
Simply select the rom/firmware you want to flash to and enjoy.
I can confirm this will not overwrite the phone's internal 16gb storage, which is where most apps save backups to.
Future steps:
Before trying anything crazy, copy the entire phone internal 16gb storage to your computer. If you brick, you can always get a new captivate, copy the junk back and run a restore.
I recommend Titanium backup (donate the $6, the backup/restore is SUPER SUPER fast) along with Clockwork recovery. Clockwork's Nandroid makes full kernel backups and you can boot to recovery from the phone itself. No more adb reboot download or adb reboot recovery.
sorry for my english i have a 19000m the one from bell my phone boot with the GALAXY S LOGO WITH THE MUSIC BUT AFTER THAT BLACK SCREEN CAN I REPAIR THAT ?
Yes, odin is about your only hope here... Even if you boot into the bios and try to do a factory reset it will come up with error after error...
Reflashing will totally wipe and start fresh.
I am curious however. I think i isolated where my problem came from but I am still curious...
Did you try to sideload anything?
It happened to me twice with Bell's Vibrant version. The first time, just after one week after getting it (not rooted). They simply gave me a brand new one.
The second one took 3 week to go dead. Knowing my way around Linux Embedded systems, this time I investigated the issue. In recovery mode, there were error messages saying that the system could not fine the internal flash memory partitions. I could confirm from the kernel messages that partitions on internal sdcard had disappeared. I did factory reset, reflash original stock firmware with Odin, but it did nothing.
I Sent the phone back for repair and three weeks later, they gave me another one (probably refurbished!!).
My phone just turns on, with a black screen and the capacitive buttons lit up. Nothing else happens. When I try to go into download mode, it only goes back to this black screen. I does however detect that the phone is connected driver wise on the computer, but does not show up in Hemidall or Odin. I've tried just about everything

Does it light up or display anything and then go black, or does it just do nothing? If it does nothing, you're probably bricked, but try this anyway just in case your phone still has some life in it:
open Odin; press and hold both volume buttons and plug in your USB. If Odin lights up yellow, flash.
If that doesn't work, buy or build a jig, use it, and see if it goes into download mode. If it doesn't, plug the cable in anyway and see if Odin recognizes it. If it does, flash.
If that doesn't work, you're probably bricked. JTAG or Unbrickable Mod are your options from here, neither of which I personally know anything about but you can search around and find someone who can help you.
Hard Bricked= No signs of life, black screen no matter what, no response to USB plug in. Nothing but Unbrickable mod or JTAG will fix, I WOULD SUGGEST getting Unbrickable because you only have to get it once, and it cost the same as JTAG.
Soft Bricked= DL mode access is available(by jig or button combo and usb), recovery too, has some life in it. Can use ODIN/HEIMDALL to fix it.

If you got a green light, I would think it should at least turn on. However, if it was a successful flash, it should charge with the phone off. A bricked phone and a bad charger would both look the same: dead.
Try a different charger or battery if you think your battery could that dead. However if your battery died during your flash, that could also be the cause of your brick.

A jig is worth trying, but I suspect it will not solve your issue. You are correct, you need to send it to someone to have it fixed. Send a PM to AdamOutler or Connexion2005 and they can point you in the right direction.

You moto defy never flashed boot loaders since Motorola always had them locked down, and if you didn't know what you were doing flashing the stock Emma's that had boot loaders then it is not the phones fault. You should never really have to flash boot loaders and that is the ONLY risky part in flashing on these phones. Other than that Samsung cappys are almost TRUELY unbrickable (HARD BRICK) unless you mess up flashing boot loaders. WHICH YOU DID WHETHER YOU KNEW IT OR NOT BY FLASHING THE STOCK ODIN. SEND IT FOR UNBRICKABLE MOD, it is cheap repair and you WONT run into your same mistake ever again.

K so like an idiot i deleted framework-res, and now my phone turns on to a black screen. I've tried to reflash it with odin and odin 1 click, but it always gets stuck at "file analysis". I don't get why because I used odin 1 click to install froyo in the first place so I know it works.
Anyway, I have no idea what to do, as I can't get any files on or off my phone because ADP will always say the device is not connected.
if its stuck at file analysis keep fiddling until it goes past that for instance plug in into download mode with it open and then unplug and replug it in. just keep trying.
i've been trying for hours... rebooting.. reinstalling.. everything. it won't get past File Analysis...

nope, still hangs at File Analysis
i have done the same and now back up i used an old odin to go back to original stock and then updated to froyo after. If you can use sdk adb reboot recovery and fromat your sd card then try odin again this worked for me
maybe try restarting computer. make sure you dont have anything adb related running. pull battery. start odin one click. put battery back in. hold vol-up and down at same time(just the vol. buttons no power) plug in usb from comp. to your phone while you still have the vol. buttons held. should be in download mode. click start.
and if you wanna try pushing a new framework, i guess you could try to boot into recovery and adb should see it then as debugging mode is auto on in recovery mode. let us know.

Are you using 64 bit Windows 7? I am and had a similar problem. On my original attempts to flash my phone with earlier versions of Cognition, I learned that if you don't disable the lagfix, you can have a problem. Assuming you used one I hope you disabled it. I also used odin 1-click at the time and it didn't work terribly well, mostly due to the voodoo lagfix ext4 filesystem.
Secondly, I've also found that it's best to go into download mode using the following method:
I do a battery pull, remove sim and sdcard (if you have one), put battery back in. Make sure your USB cable is plugged into a USB port on the motherboard, not one of those front USB ports (they sometimes don't get enough juice, you wouldn't want the device to disconnect in the middle of a flash). Hold volume up/down and plug in the USB cable. Odin one click should recognize the phone is hooked up to a COM port. At that point, you click the start button and it flashes. It should not take more than 1-2 minutes to flash. If Odin looks like it it is not working, rather it sits at Verifying or does not actually move at a brisk pace, it's not going to work. You can let it sit for hours and it will never flash. If this happens, do the battery pull and try again. My first time doing this was rather nerve wracking as i thought i bricked my phone. Had the screen with the phone/exclamation mark/computer and the computer did not detect my phone via USB. I've seen people who say reinstalling the Samsung drivers or rebooting the computer or switching USB ports might help as well.
Ever since i figured out the above, i've been able to flash my Captivate on Win 7 64bit without a hitch. Currently running the latest build of Cognition 2.2 and loving it.
I've done all of the above and Odin hangs on Verifying, ADB gives the same error message on every "ADB" command : "error: device offline: (while in recovery mode)
My computer/Odin does recognize that it's plugged in, but it won't mount and let me into the SD card or format it, etc.

Yes he should.
What did you do to fix it? Do tell.
10 bucks says he succeeded once he read the directions properly.
Reading is hard, that is why so few people do it.
Same exact thing happened to to me 2 days ago. All I did was:
1)take the battery and SIM card out, wait a few seconds,
2)run Odin3 on my PC and hookup the USB cable to the phone while still off
3) hold both Volume buttons down while phone is off and connected
3)at the same time, slide in the battery with 1 finger or have someone do it
4)keep volume keys held down as the battery is installed and my phone turned on straight into download mode
5) phone pops up in Odin3 and just click Start, flashed to stock JH6
I am 80% sure I wasn't holding the power button while holding the Vol keys. If that doesn't work above ^^^ hold all 3 buttons and it should go into download mode.
so.. I fubard framework.apk trying to get teh circle battery mod on my phone (it just hung forever and *poof* black screen o' nothing after I pulled the battery)
So.. I'm following the directions but windows keeps finding the phone as some type of crazy serial device and is asking for drivers ... so I'm fux0red methinks.
Any help is appreciated - but I think I did a real number on this thing.
Ok... these are the steps I've done.
Shutdown the device.
Pulled battery, Sim, SD Card.
Popped the battery back in.... didn't power it up.
Turned on Odin3
Popped the USB cable into the phone while holding both volume buttons.
I get the lil triangle.
... then I get a windows message stating "SERIAL GADGET" and the XP wizard comes up looking for drivers. It doesnt find anything of course.
So.. I rinse and repeat and it can't find the device.
So what am I missing o wise XDA folks?

Get the right drivers if you havent already and find the USB port that works. Post 8 above is very good. On my netbook, only one of the three usb ports works for the captivate, i've marked it since with a happy face.
Ok.. at home now on my Win7 machine - all is good in Odin restore land...
Except - I flash using the Odin 1 Click and still boot to a black screen.
I think because I had the Voodoo lagfix on it - it won't format correctly and load the rest of the ROM onto the SDCard
Hi everyone! I have Captivate(1008 batch) with Phoenix Ultimate firmware. Today I tried to flash it with batch Gingerbread. Seems like my mistake was that I forgot to turn off lagfix. Odin halted. Now I'm getting "phone-!-PC" screen each time I connect phone to PC...
I can not get cappy into download mobe(tried all 3 ways)
Odin doesn't see phone...
Do I have any chaces to repair my phone or it's a brick? Is there a chance that jig will help?
There's a new thread in the dev section about a one click unbrick from that screen. I read that it's just downlad the software, plug in phone and click run.
AdamOutler made this -

Ok, thanks I'll try that! BTW which fimware should I flash if my cappy is back to download mode? As I understand Phoenix formated my phone memory into ext4 filesystem. Is that possible to flash stock Gingerbread on ext4 filesystem?
UPD: Unfortunately software unbrick doesn't help I got "Phone is not connected" message. My PC doesn't see phone at all
The Jig should work, assuming you don't have mixed bootloaders. If you do have mixed bootloaders, JTAG service will be what you need.
If you do manage to get back to download mode, use the JF6 Odin 1-click.
You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Here's another suggestion that I did with a 1008 that I had a while back. open Odin 1 click to prepare for download mode. (make sure it's not one with the three button fix - if you one click from gingerbread to 3 button fix stock, it is a certain hard brick).
Remove battery, count to 10, replace battery.
hold the vol up and vol down buttons at the same time until you see the screen flash. It should flash every 5-7 seconds as long as you continiuosly hold the buttons.
When you see the screen flash, insert usb cord (with it already connected to computer).
This got me to download mode. It mat take a few tries. sometimes it's a challenge to get to DL mode from this screen. This procedure worked on my 1008. Hope it works.
A jig may work too, but it n ever worked for me on the 1008.
Thank you guys. Hope your suggestions will help!
With the phone and PC screen the Jig will work for sure try and make one or u can buy it.
You can also try this, Remove the battery open odin 1 cick and plug the cable to the usb port at the back of the PC and then the phone and now put the battery see if the odin lits up if yes you are done.
I solved the problem(even without jig). So writing my solution, hope this will help someone.
1) I went home to use another PC. Installed Samsung drivers there.
2) I tried different key combos. Vol Up + Vol Down didn't worked but Vol Down + USB entered Download mode.
3) One guy from russian android forum told me to try with Odin 1 click 2.1 stock firmware. Only this version of firmware connected to my soft bricked phone.
One more time thanks everyone for your replies
For future reference.
If your phone turns on (you can see anything on the screen), then you do not have a perminate brick, and a jig will work.
And your filesystem/lagfix does not matter with odin 1click. It resets everything to the way it came, nomater what you came from. (It even works on cm7 witch repartisioned it and used MTD).
I have the same problem as you. I can't get get the one-click unbrick to work (doesn't detect a device). I ordered a jig yesterday, hopefully it comes soon. I have a 1010 though, which I heard had more problems than others.
use a JIG
i made my custom JIG for 60 cents, save my Cappy after a failed cyanogen install.
I rooted my cappy(cappy 1) and installed serendipity 6.4 on a clockwork kernel back in May for the first time based upon info I gathered here from all the experiences and advice. It went flawless. I odined back to stock and attempted to update the kernel to the one from the link on the serendipity 7 page and while it was doing the kernel flash it went into a boot loop that I apparently am not smart enough to recover from. Odin does see the phone for just a split second and starts but the phone restarts before it gets done. My wifes(cappy 2) came in the mail yesterday and she wanted freedom too so I rooted and tried to use a kernel I d/l from a site I recognized from everyones post and it said to use sgs kernel flash and I have had pretty much the same result in this phone too!! ??? whatsup?? I did it without fail the first time and now I am questioning myeslf. Neither will boot to recovery, neither will connect to pc via usb long enough to use odin. I am dumb about ADB. Clicked on the adb file and it flashes through really quick on my pc then closes. Tried to make the usb manual jumper with the resistors and I can't seem to have any luck with the technique. I ordered the jig for the usb connection for like 9.00 but I won't get it til next week. Any help would be appreciated...... I am at a total loss!!!
Are you using Odin from download mode? As long as you have a cappy with working button combos, start Odin (right click and run it as an administrator) without the phone plugged in. Pull the battery out, remove the SIM and external SD card if you have one, replace the battery and leave the phone off. With the phone off, hold both volume buttons and plug the usb cord in. The phone should turn itself on in download mode, at which point you can hit start in Odin.
If this is what you're already doing I'm not trying to talk down to you, I just couldn't tell from your post. If this is indeed what you are already doing, are you getting an error in Odin?
the three button was working on both before but now seems to no longer.... I can't for the life of me get to recovery or download mode.... I think I could revive both if I could just get that far. and had a good kernel file which I obviously am not getting or I am doing somthing way wrong. Neither are totally bricked... the try to come on but keep restarting themselves. BTW thanks for the help and I don't feel talked down to at all.... felling pretty silly/crappy about my abilities right now. Thought I had the whole root/kernel/rom thing figured out til now.....
as far as odin errors. my first phone would hook to odin and then lose the connection because the phone turned itself off. the second one will not eastablish a connection at all.... does that make sense??
I would shoot for download mode at this point. When you tried the resistors to build your own jig, was the phone off when you were trying to get it to work?

If you're in download mode, your phone shouldn't turn itself off. What odin package are you using?
yes, phone was off and I had 4 resistors with a total value of just between 300K and 301K. I was in my opinion unsuccessful in touching the two pins correctly without the resistors touching. I may try to disect a usb cord tonight and solder my resistors to the black and green wires(think thats correct) and see if I have any better luck. To impatient to await the jig for 5 or so days. But at least i'll have it for later use. Then I guess go back stock and start over. but I gotta get D/L mode to work first. I think odin was version 3.1.7 I'm at work and don't recall exactly. I know I D/L'ed a odin console and a set of files to put in particular places as to direct odin what to use. It came as a complete D/L. I also have tried the one click odin files before(this is what I used the first time back in may) any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have never been successful in touching the pins without cutting apart a USB cord. With the cord, though, it's a piece of cake. You don't even have to solder them, just stick the plug in there and you can hold the resistors (as long as they're covered with something) to touch the right pins. I don't know that the color coding is consistent, but you can figure it out either with a multimeter or trial and error. I also think it's 3 resistors not 4, but your values are correct so that's probably what you were doing.
Once you get into DL mode, you have a couple of options:
1. Try Serendipity 7 again. I've done several installs from their instructions and they work perfectly, but there are a lot of steps and you need to be careful to hit them all in order (I've definitely ended up in your situation before because I thought I remembered what needed to do but missed something).
2. Flash a one click. You can find them all here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300843
If you were going to go this route, what I would do is flash the one-click for KF1. This will give you Samsung gingerbread bootloaders which are both compatible with everything and will give you your button combos back for download and recovery modes. Once you flash this, you should only use bootloader-free packages and you will always have your button combos with no risk of a hard brick.
Once you have KF1, you can root it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127249
then get CWM recovery, skip to step 13 in the S7 download instructions, and flash it in recovery.
Good luck!
Thanks Ever So Much!!
:cool Well long story short my jig worked. You were right, it was very easy to make. Soldered resistors to pins so now I have a working jig. My original phone is so totally fixed. Running rooted 2.3.3 Serendipity 7 with CWM. Thank you very much for the confidence building and advice on where to start and finish.
