Hello Guys,
Ive been googling around to find a script or something to "keep alive" the phone app. However, what I found ( "auto memory manager" and "phone-priotiritizer") doesnt seem to work with my SGS.
I was thinking about a script to push in "init.d" in order to lower the phone app priority.
Any idea?
Thanks
Salvo

I am aware of the Oxios Memory Program and the use off Task Manager to save memory but I have some questions.
1. Is there a way to really shutdown a program after Using it, without going to Task Manager or something like that? I tried the HangUp Button, Home Button, Go Back button etc but it's not really shutting down the program, and only a few program's has an Exit item build in the menu.
2. Is it possible to get a list of current running applications (like PPC phones have in the top right) or an other way to navigate trough currently running applications. Sometimes I'm using mail, a Game and Media Player together and then the only way to navigate between them is by using the home button and then go back trough the list of apps, though this is very limited.
To my knowledge there is nothing like this. A solution would be to remap a hardware button state to the task manager to more easily launch.
Yeah I've modified my homescreen with a small Launcher (just the Standard last opened Apps Launcher, nothing special though). This quickens everything a lot, but as you other users know is still not optimal.
Thanks for your thoughts Anyway.
I'd recommend you Smarttoolkit (free download here). It combines hibernation (like oxios) and superb task manager (and other features). I use version RC08, because RC09 doesn't always work properly for me...
First I thought STK was some sort of Tweak Utility, but I recently saw some screenshots of a flasy program and download -> installed that and I loved it, it only had some hang up issues but after downgrading to RC08 this was reduced to almost nothing.
Later on I noticed the program I was using now is the programm you recommended me, thanks after all.

Another great program to run alongside STK is AppCloser http://wwwu.edu.uni-klu.ac.at/apitman/appcloser/index.php
Very easy to set up and you can add the apps you want to automatically close when you press home into a text pad.
Hope this helps.
I run on s620 but works on all Windows smartphones, just looking at the s730 thread due to thinking about getting one.
Hi all,
I have a motorola milestone (GSM, Telus) and I was wondering if there is a script or an app to "kill" apps, but not let them restart again. This is similar to something found on cydia (for Iphone and ipod touch) called Sb settings. Within sb settings there is a menu which can kill apps and free memory. When you kill these apps, they do not come back, unless you re-open app. With android, you kill an app, and in an instant they re-appear without you opening it. Is there a script that could block some apps from opening from bootup? Or an app that works like SB settings to kill an app, and not let it re-open again? I think this would free up much more ram on our milestones, especially because we cannot swap. (Because of the locked bootloader)
Edit: Another question: Is there a script that can install apps in a specific folder? E.g. sweeterhome, or other apps not on the market? It is really annoying having to go through titanium backup and having to go through the whole install process (I know its just a few buttons, but with a lot of apps it gets annoying!). This was in GOT OR, but it is now outdated, and there seems to be an option in Androidani Recovery 3.3 but I can't get it to work. Thanks.
Thanks, and any help is appreciated.
1. I personally disable/remove all apps that annoy me. This is espcially true for anything that autoruns. But most task killers (like advanced task kill) have an autokill feature. It kills any apps not in your ignore list at specific intervals or other triggers like low ram.
2. Using froyo based roms, you can install most apps onto sdcard. CM6 based ROMs also offer the option for default install locations.
I believe that you are talking about apps2sd or ext2. This is an older, but more flexible way of doing sd apps installs. I think (not an expert myself) it requires ext2 filesystem support. This in turn requires a kernel module to be loaded. There are many threads active right now about this topic.

Regarding Q2, I think he wants to install a bunch of .apks from a specific directory in some sort of quiet mode...
I'm not sure this is possible easily, if you've got root-access you may just move them via the console to the required directories...
Search market for autorun manager and read, see if that is what u want , and in froyo kill doesn't kill anymore it more like restart...

Quiet mode? No, I just have various beta apps that I do not want to re-install after I flash a rom.

I think I was mis-interpreted.
My question was that can I kill an app for good? some autorun even when I don't want them too and when I do kill them from a task killer they just re-appear. I want them too stop once I press kill like iphone.

OK, so, I'm new here and at the Android stuff aswell. Recently got my Mini S5570, rooted it and installed that VERY useful ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554099
I like it A LOT, modified all startup programs and it runs very fast.
Got a minor thing bugging me - I use Memory Booster and when I enter the Task Killer I always see Music and Gallery there, even when I didn't use them recently. They take up around 9MB of RAM, which isn't much but it still bothers me. I want these Apps but I don't want them to start up automatically. Is there any way to make them only load when I run a music/photo or launch the app directly? They keep restarting when I kill the proccess.
Thanks in advance!
Edit:
Also for Google Play - is there any option that it will NOT restart itself? Only when I choose to run it?
I have a couple of apps that i use for my pebble and also mi band, and i notice that after a while, they stop notifying me about anything. Upon opening the app, it says that notification access is not enabled, and i have to enable it again.
So i go in, slide left then slide right to enable it again to work. Seems like a pain to consistently do this, seeing 4gb of ram *should* be enough to plod along. Any ideas on how to make it stick?

hi,
When i had a similar issue on my Note5 and another device, Notifications get killed and i had to enable notifications again etc. I realized something /process, was "killing" apps /notifications
I then found Smart manager, was responsible.
I opened Smart Manager and selected each app that i wanted to run and selected. "Turn off"
Afterwards, apps that was closing/notification, was working fine. Eg my watch" Gear manager",
third party alarm etc. etc
Good luck
Wow you're awesome! Thank you!!
Hi guys,
I have my MI 5 a few days I'm happy with it and now I'm testing it
So today I was running and I used Endomodo for save my workout
It use GPS to Record where and how much you run but when I finish it had nothing and I had some message like that "you are losing gps sign maybe your system kill this process to save battery see you settings"
I was tried to change my settings but I see nothing for it.. somebody know what I need to change?
I dont have any other program for battery or to kill apps
Cheers
Apps like Endomondo requires continuous location access, change Settings->Additional Settings->Battery & Performance->Manage apps' battery usage->Choose Apps->Endomondo->No restrictions + Allow background location.
