Hi,
I've tried to flash the latest MIUI ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S but now I'm stuck at recovery mode. When I reboot I always get into recovery mode. I just can't boot it. I tried to wipe and put other rom's on it but I just can't get phone working! I can get into download mode.
So can my phone still be saved?
Hope you guys can help me out!
I would try a clean XXJPU install with ODIN, after you'r on stock install a custom kernel with root - then try cm7 (easier install ) then moving to muiu would be easy.
okay thank you, you would be a hero of you could save my phone haha.
wich custom kernel do you prefer?
If you have download mode install a clean 2.2.1 JPU whith Odin (pit 512 and Re-partition).
Once you have it working, flashing as you want.
Froyo 2.2.1 custom Kernel: speedmod k13d.
GB 2.3.3 custom kernel:Voodoo test 6.0 or GTO Ginger JVH RC1 v2.1.
both for recovery (zip files).
DamianGTO Ginger JVH RC1 v2.1 kernel works fine for gingerbread roms
if you are able to get into donwload mode, you are saved
looks like the ROM you are instlling aint working, or your doing it wrong
i would suggest trying a stock firmware first then you can go crazy and try with new stuff
I was on darky's 10.1, darkcore 2.6, jvo baseband.. i wanted to disable the lagfix so that i can flash another kernel so i went to cwm to disable the lagfix. however it apparently did not disable the lagfix and now i'm stuck at the gt-i9000 screen and i can't boot up my sgs. can someone please please please tell me what i can do?
If you can get into download mode, I would suggest flashing to a stock 2.3 or 2.2 rom through Odin.

Sent from hell to take your soul
I am having a problem that no matter which stock ROM i try and load, if it is a 2.3 I end up in a boot loop and have to go back to vodafone au eclair to get my phone booting again.
I was running XXJVO but the other day after installing some apps my phone froze and then wouldn't charge or boot. Flashing back to 2.1 seemed to sort out most of my problems but trying to go back to 2.3 (even via kies) results in a boot loop. Anyone have any suggestions of what I can try.
2.3 roms that i have tried:
XXJVR
XXJVO
Vodafone stock 2.3
Darkys rom 10.1 re
I also having problems with soft touch buttons they disappeared after Darkys and touck key FW update hasn't worked on any roms that i have tried 2.1 or 2.2
Anyone with suggestions would be greatly appreciated as don't wanna be stuck on 2.2!!
What cwm recvery do you have?
I would go into download mode, connect to ODIN and flash a voodoo kernal, go into recovery and turn off all the lags, I had a similar problem with bootloop and disabling all the lags cured it. Then do a wipe, reflash via ODIN to a stock firmware then flash your custom rom.
Hope this is of some help
Hey guys,
So recently I tried rooting my phone with CF-Root and Odin, and then it went into a boot loop of just the Galaxy S on startup.
I eventually found out about Heimdall and right now I'm running 2.2.1 Froyo with Build XWJSD.
Problem is, that the phone doesn't read the SD card? Like it will see the SD Card, scan it, and say it's finished scanning but then it won't let me access it either in CWM or through the Android UI itself.
Any ideas? I just want to get MIUI installed haha.
Well I just tested the SD card in another phone and it works fine. So it's definitely the software/rom I'm using now I think.
Is there anything I can do to make this work. Maybe like a completely stock 2.2.1, that is guaranteed to work haha? I just need this card to be read. Because even when I plug the phone and run Kies, Kies doesn't recognize the version of the firmware. And If I try to use superoneclick root, it also doesn't recognize the version of the firmware.
So right now I'm using 2.2.1 XWJSD, which stock rom should I install with odin or Heimdall to make this work?
Thanks a lot again.
Head over to this thread and download JVZ (Gingerbread 2.3.6), flash with Odin with re-partition checked, then head over to Chainfire's thread for CF-Root kernel for JVZ and flash that through Odin as well.
Forget about Kies since you'll no longer be using that to update firmware and whatnot.
CF-Root will come with CWM installed, so after you get that done, download MIUI and flash through CWM
Thanks a lot will try it out.
This CF-Root right? CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVZ-v4.3-CWM3RFS.zip
Unfortunately the phone is stuck in a bootloop now after installing 2.3.6 JVZ.
Did you make sure re-partition is checked? If it still bootloops after re-partition then try JVT or some other stock ROM and see if that boots up before applying the CF-Root kernel
Yeah I made sure re-partition is checked, and I installed it with the 512 pit file, unless I shouldn't be using the .pit?
your gona have to reflash the rom or install arom thats already rooted you could try darky 10.2 re or check out puggerduk on tube
Root Galaxy S i9000 and install a custom rom

MIUI is running based on Android 2.3, I found the Android forum that helps me well enough to do my first flashing and rooting. Here is what you need to try to do:
1. Flash your i9000 with XXJVU 2.3.6 ( Value Pack ):
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/
2. Root your I9000 with CF-Root-XX OXA JVU 2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxjvu-firmware/
Do everything on the post and you can install MIUI ROM from recovery straight away after that.
Hope this helps. If it does, please consider press 'THANKS' button

i dont know what happened..
now i came back to stock froyo..
by using heimdall 1.1.1, i flashed speedmod kernal, then via cmw i flashed simply Aokp
but my phone is become slow while scrolling.,
opening any application, and lost its smoothness while drawing apps,screens..
pls guide to wipe off all data regarding all about kernals, modems from my phone..

I flashed this rom (Simply Stock kk4) with the One-Click and it seems to have worked great. The one thing I noticed is that I have the kj3 modem. Was that intentional? If not, should I flash the kk4 modem? I live in the Chicago area and did a search for the best modem in my area, but I didn't really come up with anything.
Thanks for any help and for a great rom!
