Incoming calls undelivered

I purchased my HTC Touch Diamond yesterday, and I'm already experiencing problems with it. I did a few tests, and here were the results:
Diamond = HTC Touch Diamond (Rogers)
Phone1 = Nokia E90 (Rogers)
Phone2 = Home phone (Rogers)
1: Diamond calls Phone1, and Phone1 receives call.
2: Phone1 calls Diamond, and call goes into "Unavailable" message. However; if you wait long enough on Phone1, Diamond will receive a missed call, with less than a second ring.
3. Diamond calls Phone1 again, Diamond doesn't hear ringer, but "Dialing" message is displayed.
4. Phone2 calls Diamond, and call goes into "Unavailable" message.
5. Diamond calls Phone2, Diamond doesn't hear ringer, but "Dialing" message is displayed.
The reception bar is full, and the phone has minutes. The calls made and received gets through when it feels like it. Sometimes they get through, sometimes they don't. Please help me out on this one.

try to upgrade your rom. the newer radio versions are way better that the shipped one.

Which update would be the best for my phone at the moment?

just out of curiosity which band are you on 3g or gsm - the newer roms start 1.93 have a look in the diamond roms forum for one which suits your needs, preferably one with a new radio, if you are experiencing signal problems.

Hi Ekksman,
I believe I'm running on Edge. It's the little "E" symbol that's already there. I have no idea how to switch to the others bands.

One quick question Karim099,
Out of the ROM series on that list, how do I know which HTC version my phone is? I have the P3490.

all official 1.93 roms are almost similar but each one has its own regional settings according to the CID (country ID)
you can flash only the WWE version because it matches your phone's CID ( unless you CID unlock your device using HardSpl)
i know there are multiple WWE roms. so i advise you to download the upgrade from the htc.com official website according to your device serial number.

The official website was my first stop when trying to upgrade my phone. Unfortunately, there are no ROM updates available for my serial number on the site.
Will the WWE versions be the only version that will work successfully? I haven't unlocked anything for my device.

yes without CID unlocking. and it contains the newer radio version

Do I choose any WWE version? And which country is the RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2? Sorry for all the question, it's my second time ever flashing a phone. Need to be cautious.. I don't know which CID I'm running on.

its strange that you cant find an upgrade on the htc site.
is your phone locked to a specific carrier? doesnt it provide updates on its site?
ME is for middle east where i belong it wont work for your device.

The site takes me to a message saying "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device." I believe it's locked to only Rogers & Fido. There are no updates on the site at all..

u can wait for official updates...
i doubt that any of the official updates will match your CID
you could CID unlock and install one of them.
by the way the rom developement forum is full of coocked roms which improve performance and battery life. take a look at it.

I don't even know which CID mine is..
Neither do I know how to CID unlock..
But I will take a look at the ROM developement forum and try to do a little research on them.
If you have any specific suggestions, please let me know. It'll help me out a lot.

sorry for this topic, but I'm new here and not too skilled, so I need a detailed help 'cause I'm getting crazy!!...
Well, I have a p3600 EN version,
WM5,
rom version 1.23.405.2 (dated 2007-03-11),
radio version 1.38.00.11,
ExtVersion 1.23.405.103.
I read everywhere that HTC released rom and radio upgrades which unlock GPS (that I actually don' t see),
so I tried to download the latest official rom version (I still don't know the code, it should be the 1.23.408...) from the HTC download area, but it makes me download ONLY the same rom version that I still have, the 1.23.405.2!!!
I tried to flash it anyway and nothing changed...
That's why the 405.2 may is the latest rom version available for my phone?
Or my phone may have some sort of lock on it's codes so that I can't upgrade anything? it could be possible?
What is the right rom version I should have?
Please help me!!!

see, when i take TP2, i will have wwe firmware, i flash hardSPL, then install RUS rom, when device loading i will see black screen and text - your OS Rom itn t customized for your hardware.please reflash the proper Rom code or contact the service center.

Anybody please help with CID unlock RUS shiped rom, HTC rom tool for rhodium dont work. (i am build the rom with cid: ******* and nothing)

need more information on your device is it gsm or cdma? are they cid unlocked?

GSM , not CID unlocked

You will need HardSPL on your phone(s) to flash anything other than the official ROM for the phone's branding/region etc. So if you put HardSPL on then you should be able to flash official English ROMs.
However, if you've got 5 phones you're going to have a problem. You're probably going to have to ask OliNex (the developers of HardSPL) for a price from them for HardSPL'ing 5 phones - that's too many not for it to count as "commercial use", I would think.

I want official rom but without "brand" signs.

Hi guys I am looking for any compatible rom that is English. I have Diamond unit with Spanish ROM on it. I need English compatible ROM. I tried one from mediafire link above but installer gave me error saying invalid vendor id. I guess I can't just install any it needs to be specific carrier or vendor.
Here is info from about:

I really don't know anything about this unit I do not see any carrier markings on the box or start up screen , it looks like unbranded unit made for Spain may be. If possible provide direct link to rom I can use or may be some advice where I can look.

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately I tried several roms that I thought are English and all of them showed me "INVALID VENDOR" error. is there anyway you can specify ROM I can use with my unit, if you not sure what I have to begin with I'd be more than happy to provide any info needed to identify unit I have.

CID lock (aka vendor lock): put on your device by the manufacturer to prevent installation of a ROM not released by them.
HardSPL: This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing. See the official thread for more info.
