Phone not booting... - LG Optimus 2x

So i was in clockwork and did a wipe, and then was about the install a zip from sd card.. then i afterward i found out there is no zip in the sd card, i had absolutely no idea why....
So because i did a nandroid backup of the original v10b rom so i restored it back. Then when i was booting the phone it stuck at LG with loading bar stopped. And there was no way to shut the phone down so i pulled the battery out.
2 hours later, which is now, i cant even boot up the phone.. The screen just doesn't turn on.. is it out or battery or something?? Im scared

Remove battery, hold both volume buttons and plug in a USB cable. The screen will stay off, but Windows should pick something up. If so, then you can use NVFlash to fix the phone... see here: http://android.modaco.com/content/l...rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/

Thanks!!! you saved my phone

How to flash phone without activesync or access to memory?

My phone got wet and now it starts up but gives me the black screen where I can press volumeup to hard reset, but it doesn't respond when I do this. I'm trying to flash it or do something to fully revert it to a brand new state, but I obviously can't use active sync and cannot get access to the phone's internal memory. How can I do anything?
flash through sd card. good luck with that. Hope you did try the phone completely
I was hoping there was a way to flash with just the sd card. Would you be kind enough to at least link me to where I could find instructions for this?
The phone is dry. It starts up fine and keeps on, stuck at that black screen. It's been a while since I got it wet.
Thanks.

Well it won't matter because it has water damage. Are the little stickers inside pink? If so then they will charge you for any repairs so it won't matter what ROM you have on..
Who will charge me for repairs?
I don't recall ever saying that I will give it in for repairs, because I am aware of the voiding of the warranty when the wet seal becomes pink. Because I realize all of this, I decided to give it a chance flashing the phone and starting it with a new install to see if that would work, as my last chance to get anything out of it.

Thanks, but I checked those instructions out already, and they assume that I am able to use activesync with the phone. The phone doesn't boot far enough for activesync on my computer to recognize it. All I can do it insert the 16gb microsd card into my usb card reader and put whatever I want on it, and then back into the phone. I would think there is a way to just put the rom onto the sd card and put it into the phone, and then press some kind of bootloader startup key combination so that the phone goes straight to the installation.

If you take a look a little further down the very same page that SonyEX1 provided, you will see this:
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
As has been stressed many a time on this forum, please make sure that you read through all of the instructions (entire page) very carefully prior to flashing.

Good luck.
Mike.
Thanks, I noticed that note at the end of the post, but the only rom that I think I would be able to flash is the stock one, because I don't have HardSPL. I can't get HardSPL because I can't activesync the phone to my pc. So I pretty much need the stock rom in nbh format to try anything at all.
I noticed that when I enter the bootloader and plug the phone in to my computer via usb, the computer detects something and says that an htc device is attached, but microsoft activesync still doesn't recognize it and the phone doesn't show up in my computer.
So I guess the search is on to find an .nbh format for the stock rom.

I am not sure what carrier you are on, but if you download the stock ROM from whichever carrier you need (or the generic HTC ones if you have an unbranded one) it should be an .EXE file.
You should be able to right-click on the .EXE and extract the contents into a temp directory using any decent compression software (I use 7-zip). There should be a RUU_signed.nbh file that you can rename, copy to your microSD and manually flash from there.
(And if you already didn't know, you enter bootloader mode by first powering off the phone, hold down the VOL Down key, and power the phone back up while holding the VOL Down key. You should then see the tri-color screen above. This part isn't mentioned in the instructions above and assumes you already know how to get into bootloader mode.)
Thanks. I didn't know that you could extract .exe's, so I have been searching and found someone's uploaded stock rom in .nbh format. I put it on the sd card and went to the bootloader with it. Right now, It's been at a white screen that just says "Loading...". This has been going on for the past 5 minutes without changing. I don't know how a successfull rom flash is supposed to look like, so I don't know if it's working or not.
Is it supposed to be moving or what? How long do I wait before snatching the battery?
UPDATE:
I guess the stock rom that I tried previously was faulty or something, because it was hung on the loading screen, so I downloaded the TMOUSA one from their website, extracted the NBH, and put it on the SD card. Everything started looking really good because I had a progress bar and it said something like Radio OK and something else was OK and it was loading the ROM, and then all of a sudden it rebooted into the bootloader, gave some kind of error that I can't really read because it is written on top of the other text in the bootloader, goes into the Loading screen to begin installing the rom, and then reboots again. This is the loop that takes place right now.
It seems like the problem is a dead battery though, because it started flashing fine that first time, and now the phone won't even turn on unless I plug it into USB power from the wall or a PC. But when I do plug it in, it just goes through this bootloader loop. So here is where I'm stuck.
It seems like I need a fully charged battery to attempt to reflash the stock rom or install any other rom because when the phone is in bootloader, it doesn't charge the battery, and I have no means of charging it.

you should be able to charge te phone when it is completely off/ Pull the battery out, put it back in (do not power it up), and charge it over night (or at leastfor a couple hrs)
If the phone was fine before you got it wet, what makes you think re-flashing the stock rom will make it better?
I once crashed my ROM while flashing and wasn't able to do at least anything.
There was no USB-Connection or something else.
At last I entered the bootloader and there the USB-Connection was working and my Computer recognized the Mobile. So I suggest you to try this. To enter the bootloader look for any tutorials around here.
Edit: Aaargh, havn't seen your last post, so forget about it

Because as I've mentioned previously, after getting wet, the phone boots up into a black screen where it tells me that I can press the VolUP button to hard reset or anything else to soft reset. Pressing any keys at that point doesn't do anything and I can only shut it down by taking out the battery. So I decided to at least try reflashing the rom. It looked like it was installing fine with the last power the battery had, but now I have no hope.

i have heard of shops that charge batteries up but never seen one. I suppose you may be able to buy a stand alone battery dock if they do one for the Touch Pro 2. Dont you know anyone with the same phone that could charge it for you?
No I don't really know anyone with the same phone. I've called 4 shops and all said that they either don't have the same phone to put the battery in to charge, or can't perform this kind of service. I ended up taking apart a usb cable and formulating my own usb charger. Charging right now, will report on how this worked out.
Ok. This is the kind of device i meant.

G1 will not recover ??

I have G1 sitting around that I never messed with until last night, so if it's bricked, it's not a big deal. The phone will turn on, and loop through the splash screen. The only way it will boot is in safe mode. When trying to do ANYTHING in safe mode (aside from power down), everything will FC. If i go into the recovery menu with the Home plus End key sequence, I get the "can't open cache recovery command". I've tried to install RC33 in that screen, and get "installation interrupted".
The phone was given to me, so I really don't know if it was rooted or what was on it before. I do remember it worked, and just one day stopped working. When it was working I never saw a superuser icon or any other apps you usually see with a root. Thanks in advance for any help.
No one? Is there just a full update I can throw on the SD card and get it running?
Try formatting the sd card fat32, putting dreaimg.nbh(search) on it. Then, put it in the phone and boot with camera+power. Follow the onscreen instructions, and hopefully it'll work.
If it doesn't, not my fault. Good luck!
Thanks Michael, but I did that already and it really didnt change anything. I noticed the recovery menu looks a bit different, and when I go to safemode, the "android" looks different, but thats it. Still cant boot, and still shows there is no recovery in the recovery menu.

[Q] Constant Rebooting after trying to flash to gingervolt

After trying the update(made cwm backups btw) the phone is in a reboot loop cycle. However, I can't get back into CWM in order to restore the backup i made or even the revo_stock or the stockrooted zip. I can get into the OS to the point where it wants me to select a language then it tries to find the SIM and fails completely and reboots. If i pull the battery and try to boot from the power on the USB it will reboot to the LG logo then instantly reboot again... Ideas anyone?
cliffs:
-backed up in cwm
-tried to install gingervolt
-stuck in reboot mode
-cannot access cwm to restore
Did you wipe data both times MT said? Maybe try wiping again?
Did you try flashing from a froyo ROM?
Wiped date both before and after the flash of gingervolt. I was using the decrapped rom 1.1
I would happily go back and try to clear the data again, however i cannot access CWM in order to do so after the gingervolt flash... Even using the power button+volume down i get no access...

I had the same thing happen to me. Although once it rebooted i was able to bypass the setup process and just manually do it from the home screen.
If you can't even get past the LG logo without it rebooting, I also had that happen to me on my last phone a few months ago. I called Verizon and they said that they had reports of other phones doing that too. Unfortunately I never figured out how to fix it. The problem was that it never stayed on long enough for the computer to recognize it.
Flashing Gringerbread ROMS from froyo breaks this phone. I did that same thing
restoring a back up is what you need how to get there idk
I haven't had much luck getting the phone to do anything, it will stay turned on for ~2-3 minutes then instantly reboot...

CWM reboot loop
Use this zip from thecubed it works wonders.
My phone would not go past reboot option in CWM
Search fast boot loop thread for further instructions on how to use it.
I pulled the SD card from my Revo and used it in my old win mobile Omnia so it would mount on my PC then I copied the zip onto the stuck Revo card.
Well after a few hours of tinkering i got her working... CWM never wanted to register but finally after about 100 tries of power on+vol it actually caught and booted into cwm. from there it was a cake walk until i got into gingervolt and it refused to allow the phone to come out of airplane mode(why this was even on is beyond me). after about 4 reboots the phone is working flawlessly...

So... Hold M on your keyboard then hold the power button .... does it do anything?
And do you have any extra batteries? Try using them. I think its out of charge. Im pretty sure when your bricked you need a factory cable to charge it?
But if you can get to that screen go to BT tools and go to mounts and storage and put a different rom on it and try flashing it? Mounts and storage doesnt work for me for some reason but yeah maybe it will work for you.

Optimus P990 Does not boot

I am running the latest version of CM10 for LG Optimus X2 P990.
The phone froze about an hour ago and I couldn't restart it so I decided to remove the battery.
After doing so the phone refused to boot at all! It can not be powered on at all, only if I have the charger plugged in and even so it shows only the LG logo and then restarts again.
I thought it was a ROM issue and tried to do a factory reset but I cannot access neither the recovery mode nor the software update mode.
In each case it shows only the LG logo and then either powers off or restarts.
I don't have any ideas left. Please help.
Thank you.
Try this to restore your device (you'll lose all data, except that on the external SD card).
Thanks for your help.
That worked but only for a bit. I can now see the softare upgrade screen but the phone still does not start.
It shows the LG logo and then restarts again.
I tried using SmartFlash after NVFlash fixed the softare upgrade mode but still nothing.

How can I check if my internal SD card works if I can not even power up the phone for more than 2 seconds?
I am not familiar with the KDZ upgrade can you share some help?
[EDIT]
Tried upgrading via KDZ file but the methods I found online (using the B2CTool and the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe) wont work.
I'm open to new suggestions.
I have a somewhat similar problem...
Got a P990. When I tried to tun it on, it just showed the LG Logo in White and right after that an Empty Battery with an exclamation mark in an triangle. I figured its deep cycled or something and tried to charge it on a computer with the usb cable (was in school, so no charger available). It showed the battery for quite some time (maybe 30 Minutes?). And no reaction to any button whatsoever. The phone got pretty warm at this state. I removed the battery tried to boot without it, or get into a recovery. Nothing.
Since then, the phone is even more dead.
No reaction on the screen, purely black, no backlight, no matter what I try.
Not recognized in NVFLASH without battery and the official LG restoring program does not detect it when trying to do an emergency restore.
No reaction on the pc, tried two pc's and three different usb cables with and without PC. (no new device found, nothing in device manager)
I got the phone, and I do not know what happened to it before, but no water damage and the mainboard looks fine (reseated all connectors inside).
I got about 2,4 volts from the USB cable on the battery pins, without a battery connected, by the way.
Should I try a macgyver charge like it was done on a defy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026?
Any help?
I have the same problem. I tried installing cm-9.9.9-JB-p999-2.zip file by copying it on the internal card (not external SD card). The phone rebooted itself and now stuck at LG logo, doesn't move anywhere from there. Shutdown and rebooted still the same. I tried the following procedure .... Can someone please advise how I can fix that.
Thank you.....
Copy the CyanogenMod 10 ROM and the Jelly Bean GApps package to your phone’s external SD card.
Switch off your phone.
Reboot your phone into ClockworkMod Recovery Mode. You can do that by pressing and holding down the Volume Down key and the Power button simultaneously until recovery boots.
Create a NANDroid backup of your current ROM. From the main recovery menu, select Backup and Restore and select Backup on the next screen. Wait until the backup process is done.
Go back to the main menu and perform a full wipe:
Select Wipe data/factory reset and confirm the action on the next screen.
Select Wipe cache partition and confirm the action on the next screen.
Go back to the main menu and select Advanced. From there, select Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm the action on the next screen.
Go back to the main menu and select Install ZIP from external SD card.
Select Choose ZIP from SD card and locate the cm-9.9.9-JB-p999-2.zip file. Confirm the action on the next screen to flash the ROM to your mobile phone.
Return to the main menu and flash the Jelly Bean GApps package in the same manner as in steps 6 and 7.
Go back to the main menu and select Reboot system now to restart your phone.
How to you want to flash p999 rom on p990?
