[Q] [HTC HD2] Headset plug in with mic and music control - HD2 Accessories

Hello ,
Since my old HTC Artemis is dying slowly, I have bought an HTC HD2.
I am looking for a headset plugger(where I can plug in a 3.5mm headphone) which can connect to the HTC HD2 and has a mic, music control(play/ pause/ skip and call pick up/ cancel facility. I read through the old threads and the closest I came to was combining the original headset with another one.
Please suggest me a working one.
Thanks

I would suggest bluetooth stereo headphones. They have the buttons to do all your music playing or phone calling all while your phone stays in your pocket. I use them religiously. I'm at work right now using them. Also use them with the bluetooth on my laptop.

Are there no wired sets who can do this as well?Bluetooth would be awesome had they not needed the battery to be charged.Which model do you use and recommend?

There are, but once you go wireless bluetooth you don't want to have wires again. I know I don't. I have a set of RocketFish. These specifically. I love them.

You can find in the ear sets also. The specific set you get should suit your taste. Just make sure it has buttons for call, play, forward, back, up vol and down vol. I can start/stop my music, skip forward and back through songs, answer or send a call to voicemail, start a call with voice dialer, and control the volume all with my phone in my pocket.

Hi
Thanks for the info.
Would you have a model number for this specific one?And it also has a built in mic?
Thanks

Yes it has a mic. I use it for calls and have been told it sounds good on the other end.
*edit*
If anyone buys these... read the directions and change the sound settings. The last setting offers great sound for music, videos, and games.

Looking for a corded stereo HEADSET with microphone for telephone calls and listening to music with a USB connector for AT&T Tilt. THANKS for any recommendation…
Get one with a regular 3.5 jack and an adaptor - more choice that way I would have thought.
Please let us know which you end up buying, and why.
Cheers,
Joe
Don;t you get one for free with the device?

Does the W100 work with any other software than media player?....
Will Conduits pocket player work with it using some existing plugin?
tried it, all I know it will work with the audio manager and the WMP, but not the core player. not tried with the pocket player 3.50 , the last few times i installed it, it messed up the menu of the phone, so I will not use pocket player again.

headphones

i don't know what happened tonite, but my headphones are dommed they sound like [email protected]@@...
Mine headphones have strange hiss sound from start.
Normal here
just change them with a philiphs stereo headsets and you will be like "omg, it sounds awsome!"
The original headset that I have sound really great, I was surprised. It's the loudest phone in headset mode that I ever had.
What kind of headphones are the HTC Tattoo compatible with?
A bought a pair called NOCS NS200 which I though would work because it was 4-pinned and for iPhone and all that, but the mic doesn't work..
So, what kind of headphones (in-ears with mic specially) does work for the phone?
Maybe you can get this one

The thing is that I want to have nice headphones for music as well as it has a microphone. Theese doesn't seem to be too good with music.
I'm just curious what kind of 3.5-mm plug on the headphones with mic that the phone can handle. Anyone?
I recommend Jabra BT3030 , it´s a bluetooth headset but it gave me better sound than what I get from the 3,5 output.
One remark , when I use the EQ in the custom ROM I get sound like [email protected]@@ also.
mine working fine...
mine works fine too!
I have no problems with mine...they work just fine
Same here, I'm using the original ones.
It was the bad sound quality when listening on music that made me buy new ones.
I first bought the NOCS but changed to Creative and am now very happy
im using these:
Sony MDR-EX50LP
EXCELENT SOUND!!!

[Q] BT a2dp autoconnect?

Hi. I belabored the correct area for posting this message, and decided, based on research, it's closer to an O/S question than anything else.
Summary: I have an AT&T Galaxy Tab with a paired Dell BT keyboard that I use at home and a Logitech BT keyboard that I use at work. It is also paired with a Plantronics 590A headset with A2DP. I'm running Overcome 1.6.3 firmware with the No-OC/UV kernel.
When I turn on either of those keyboards, the Tabby will display a "... keyboard connected" message after a short delay. All cool, so far. But when I turn on the headset, it never connects with the Tab. I have to touch on Settings / Wireless and Network / Bluetooth / 590Plantronics... and then it will connect.
The headset will connect automatically to other phones that I have, but not to the Tab (which is set to Media Only in the Options... which may also have an impact).
So... my main questions are: is this working as expected? If so, is there anything I can do to make a headset autoconnect? Change headsets? Change configuration? Hold my tongue a different way when I turn the headset on? More prayer? ...
Bluetooth seems to be a huge area of opportunity for Android (or maybe just for G-Tab) - with its audio cut-outs and so on - and I want to get the most out of it.
Edit: If automatic connection is not a possibility, is there a shortcut (preferably one that can live in the notifications area) that I can use in order to quickly "connect" the headphones after turning them on? (Bluetooth lives in that area as an on/off, but I don't see a way to access the BT options from there.)
This is a problem that has plagued me since I first got my Tab. The best I've been able to come up with is an app that shortcuts me to the Bluetooth Settings page (and I'm afraid I don't recall the name of the app at the moment, but there were many that did this as I recall).

Sorry dude but that doesnt make a difference. Wether its an OS question or not this section is for posting developments only, not questions. You post questions in the Q&A forum.
PS. you cant have done much "research" at all

My mistake. I will try to discover how to move the thread.
I did do extensive research, by the way, but spent all that research in the problem at hand, and none in the "how to ask" section. Having said that, the "yes, this is a question" radio button could be smarter, then, huh?

[Q] Sports Headphones w/ skip/pause/mic

I am after headsets that wrap over ear for running, so cant use the stock ones that just fall out - does anyone know if any exist that allow the use of the skip/pause/mic feature?
I had a thought that the myriad of iPhone accessories might be an option, so tried some old headsets (had the same plug segments etc, but the skip track didn't work - only pause/play). Might have been the old headsets, but dont want to buy new if they aren't compatible. Should the iPhone/iPod ones work?
Any help appreciated

They are a bit uncomfortable, but I think it is because I have a bigger than usual noggin. Anyway, after a while I got used to them. They sound really good, they do not block outside sound, which is a plus for me (can hear traffic/cars behind me), the battery is rated at 14 hours (I have never been able to drain it completely), and they have very strong btooth reception. They even have a built in 4 presets equalizer. Only downside I have found is that microphone call quality is not great. Usually the person I am talking to cannot hear me clearly.
Oh, and the music controls work perfectly.

It's not the old headsets, I will confirm that iphone controls won't have skip tracks working with android phones. I think there are very few sports type of headsets that will have android controls. Your best bet is probably to look into the bluetooth headsets as they will have the controls working.

How to permanently disable bluetooth Audio

On older Windows Mobile phones you could delete the codec for Audio and leave the one for phone. Maybe you could do this on older Android too, I can't remember.
Now it's just a Check Box to disable it.
Problem is, every time I start my car it gets re-enabled when it connects the phone. And sometimes will even start the music player on the phone. even when that source is not selected.
Car is 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 8.4AN Nav package.
It's Nav is no where as good as the Nav in the phone.
While this isn't an answer for bluetooth on the whole,
On the 8.4, go to the bluetooth settings, go to the second tab on the left for audio device, and disconnect there (while leaving the phone connected). As long as it has seen that once, I don't believe it attempts to reconnect it again unless you tell it to specifically.

good luck with this though
I'm not sure if this applies to HTC phones but on samsung ones you can longpress whichever pair device, select options, and uncheck media. This should disable music and should still alow phone calls to come thru

I think that's what the OP meant when they said:

If not, that's entirely valid

Correct. I can disable it fine. Until the next time you start the car and it rechecks it.
